Posted 13 years agoSo.. I decided to surprise my partner on his 40th. He wanted to have his party down in Austin TX where he used to live, and I told him I wouldn't be able to make it due to work. Little did he know that his friends were conspiring with me to surprise him. Feeling "Bad" about not being able to be there, I told him that I was having his present shipped via UPS...... so at the appropriate moment, I arrive in a UPS uniform (with an actual present) for him! it was a great surprise I'm so happy that I pulled it off!

The purpose of this site, and dating within the fandom.
Posted 13 years agoWhat do you think the purpose of this site is? This is sort of a reply to Kronex's journal entry about what he does not like about FA, to which he said he was going to ban all the skinny furs for not being fat and smexy. First off, the word smexy is gross... If someone called me smexy I'd probably slap them. Second off I'm sure he was joking around, but it got me thinking about what FA's purpose is an what it's viewed as.
I guess I have never viewed FA as a place to hook up with people or find a mate. I suppose that is because I found it much too limiting a factor when looking for a mate or hookup that they had to be a fur. Furry as a fandom has always seemed so "Art" centric, so much about the projected persona. I'd rather find someone where all the other qualities im looking for were met and then worry about the furry thing later. In my short dating history, I have only dated another furry once, but the three non furry guys that I have had serious relationships with (including the current) have never had an issue with the fandom. Of course I'm rather tame when it comes to furry interests i.e. I'm not a suiter, I'm not a fan of plushies, vore, diapers..etc. Believe me when I say that it's not a judgement on my part, just not my thing. If your into it, cool. I enjoy looking at furry art, especially but not limited to the naughty kind. I have found most of my boyfriends receptive to the art...of course there are questions about things that arise. The normal things, what its about, what you like about it.
I've never thought or felt that in order for a relationship to work, and for me to be happy that I'd have to date exclusively within the fandom. Sure it would be nice to not have to explain these things or worry about if the person is going to be receptive to that sort of thing, but to me it's always been a "nice to have" not a "need to have"
