I know that many of us are in a sad state with the outcome of the US Presidential Election. For both sides, there have been ups and downs. Some may agree with our new President Elect and some may not. What I do know is that I plan to be even more myself, not changing because of a change in who is in office. Be adult about this. Don't take frustrations out on each other. If you want to see change, help those trying to be a force for change, or become that for for change yourself.

Yup... I just realized that it has been a REALLY long time since I posted an update.

Closing on a year at my current job. My mate is doing well at her current job. Things are going ok overall. Only thing that really sucks is that I don't have health insurance right now because my mate's insurance said that our marriage certificate wasn't proof enough that we are married? O_o So it's going to be next year before I have medical coverage again... Sucks... But oh well.

Other than that... Catching up on PAST medical bills and my mate is getting student loans slowly paid off. Things are decent overall. Yay!

Can't think of anything else right now other than I am looking forward to Guild Wars 2 as well as the WoW Mists of Pandaria expansion and Borderlands 2 (neither of which have been pre-ordered... Bills come first!) Whee! ^_^

Huh... Just realized I hadn't POSTED anything since January when my WoW account got hacked... Guess I should give some updates, ne?

Well... On the issue of WoW... I finally did get access back to my account. The only two characters that were restored were my Main (Elly - NElf Druid Tank, Level 80) and Ellyse (NElf DK, Level 60). My Bank Alts, and all the gold and gear that I had on them, were not restored. Needless to say, I was a bit perturbed by this... But, eh... At least I have my main back and another character that I can get level capped in a couple of weeks if I REALLY feel like it. It's not like it's hard to make gold in WotLK - Just do dailies.

Also on WOW, the guild on the main server I play on has been progressing a bit. We are working, slowly, on harder and harder content. It's also been expanding.... There are times, now, when we have almost 20 people on at one time. Who knows... Maybe someday we can do 25 man raids instead of 10 man Raids. That would be neat. ^_^

On the Real Life situation - My RL Mate has Graduated and is now a Certified Medical Coding and Billing Person. ^_^ She's looking for work right now. I', holding off on looking for a different job than the one I have, at the moment, until she finds one so we aren't left in financial Dire Straits. Over the past lil bit (IE - About 2 Months), we've had 2 different Out Of State Friends come stay with us for a week each - One to primarily visit the various eateries in our area that have made it into various "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" type shows and the other (according to my mate.... Jokingly, I think) primarily to cook for us. =) Both visits went well and I'm glad both of the Friends were able to make it and also that they enjoyed themselves.

Whee... Just the funnest of times for me this weekend. My WoW account got hacked sometime between 3am and 6am Pacific Time this morning. Reason I can be that accurate is none of my guildies saw me connected between 10pm last night (when I went to bed) and when the last of them logged off at 3am. And I know it was before 6am, because that's when an email arrived from Blizzard saying that they had put my account on 1 day suspension.

Well... I go through my system, do a couple of scans to make sure I don't have any viruses or keyloggers or anything on my system (which I don't), then go to check a few other things... Well.. It appears that since Blizzard forced everyone to link their WoW accounts to Battle.net, which changes your login name to match your email address, that my email account was also hacked.

Well... I got my email account re-secured fairly fast, reset all of my logins for EVERYTHING online even if the usernames and passwords weren't even close to the two places that actually DID get hacked. Then... I wait on hold for 2 hours with Blizzard to talk with someone. They apologize profusely, remove two trial accounts that the hacker had added to my account, and stop a character transfer of my MAIN character that the hacker had ALSO initiated. They also do a password reset on my account so that I can get back in. Cool Beans!

I get everything all set again and log in... 30 seconds later I get disconnected! When I try to log in again, I receive a notice that my account has been banned. 2 minutes later I receive two emails... 1 Indicating that my account has been CLOSED due to Economy Manipulation (Meaning the hacker sold off my stuff!!!) and 1 indicating that my recurring subscription has been canceled.

I then spend ANOTHER 2 hours on hold to talk to ANOTHER Blizzard rep who tells me that the issue needs to be re-escalated to their Account Management Team, which has no phone number and you cannot be transferred to, before I MIGHT get access back. I am also informed that it will be a minimum of 2 days before I am likely to hear ANYTHING back from them.

This is all very frustrating... I mean... Yeah... I'm pissed that I've probably lost characters and equipment that I'll never be able to get restored... But... How is it that I can get EVERYTHING else (Bank, Credit Cards, Art Sites, etc) all re-secured within just an hour... And I can't even get into WoW after 4 hours of hold?

Just a Lil update. My RL Birthday was back on November 27th so I'm a year older, now. Also, I got married iRL on December 6th. *smiles* Mmmm.... Lets see. My wife will be going back to college at the start of the next term and is no longer working at the soul sucking call center she's been at for the last couple years. I, myself, am still doing tech support at the place I got hired at in August of last year. So... Yeah. Update and stuff!

Oh! WoW News - MOST of the High-Level Characters in my main guild on WoW switched to a new server courtesy of a Free Character Transfer. So... Now we're on Dawnbringer instead of Shadowsong. Just an FYI. ^_^;;

Welcome Back, FA. Good to have you up and running again. DA and FAP kept me somewhat happy while you were down but there's too many artists that I watch here that I don't know if they post elsewhere, too.

As for me, things have been decent. Usual financial woes and a couple of unexpected expenses, as usual.

Still working at the Inventory Control/Inspection place I got hired at last August. Hard to believe that it'll have been a year just at the end of this month. The guy who got me hired managed to get himself canned a few months back. His replacement got an IT job that I also applied for (still with the same company) just weeks after I finished training him. I'm still trying to clean up screw-ups caused by both of them that have made the job rather stressfull... Ahh well... I'll get things cleared up and back on an even keel, soon. I hope they hire another person for the department, soon, though... Getting a bit swamped.

But, yeah... Still alive and kickin', here. Just as unlikely to update my journal as ever. =P

Well... Update on my computer woes... My 300GB SATA drive that I got back in January is deader than a doornail. I wasn't able to recover anything from it. Thankfully I made some backups back in January when I GOT the thing so I'm not suffering a catastrophic loss... Just an annoying one. Going to get ahold of Seagate on Monday to see about how to get it RMA'd and replaced... Even though it's a Maxtor drive... When did Seagate acquire Maxtor? O.o Sometimes I feel so behind the times. @_@ Oh well... I'm back operational again, though more than a lil broke.

Well... My 300GB SATA drive that I put in my computer earlier this year has decided to give me a "NTLDR missing or Invalid. Press ctrl+alt+del to Reboot" error... Happens to have been my primary drive. And while I'm fairly sure I can recover most of my files from it, my Email and such are now lost causes... Which sucks. Had to drop $110US on a new HD since I didn't have an IDE drive laying around that I was big enough to do the recovery... Needless to say, the PATA/EIDE drive is getting turned into my primary drive, now... Tired of losing data cause of the NTLDR getting corrupted on the SATA drive... Will still use the SATA as a storage drive, though, since NTLDR is needed to access the OS, not the files. *sigh* Really sucks, though.

In any case, I probably won't be online for the next couple of days while I try to resurrect my computer again. Please forgive me. Happy belated St Patrick's Day and Happy Early Easter/Austra everyone.

Whee... I finally got a new HD for my puter. Got it put in and everything and it was running good... Then it randomly lost the NTLoader. I wasn't able to recover anything off of the drive until I reinstalled WinXP to a different drive and got it updated to SP1... Fun... Got my files recovered for the most part but lost all my emails. If you have sent me any emails recently, please resend them as I don't have them anymore... Or my email address list, for that matter. Ugh...

To top that off, once I got everything recovered, I got a mass infection of 24 separate viruses on my computer... Even though I had Norton installed and up to date! Grrr! I ended up having to nuke&pave AGAIN. Needless to say, Norton isn't on my system anymore. Using McAfee, now, since I get it free from my ISP and it's a current version.

So... After a 2 and a half day ordeal (Yeah... The -whole- weekend), I am marginally functional again. Got Windows Reinstalled again with ALL the current updates. Got McAfee Installed with all of the current updates. And have current versions of everything I need to surf the web or IM reinstalled. Tomorrow I clone my HD (to save time and hassle) THEN get my MultiMedia stuff (Media Players and Codecs) reinstalled followed by my games. Wish me luck?
