General | Posted 9 years agoIt is now official, I will be attending MFF 2016.
My lovely friend has convinced/invited me herself so I shall be making an appearance there this year. Already have purchased a pass and have the hotel room discussed. Should be coming down on the Thursday and leaving the Monday.
I know there are a number of friends on skype/here/telegram whom attend many cons in the states so might be able to see you around there! Hopefully will have some money for commissions and whatever events take place around there.
Let me know who is going and what events/panels I should attend for veterans of MFF :3

What The Fur - Post Con
General | Posted 9 years agoSo a summary of WTF...
Thursday I had a smooth trip over to Montreal, though losing 2 hours really messed with my sleep schedule and made passing out on Thursday night a chore. Was also the night I met Thomas, Lumen Sergal, and Arctic Skywolf. We sorted out sleeping arrangements and had guest steal the spare bed for one night so that they didn't go without sleep.
Friday I finished setting up the table and got some payments from people for other commissions out of the way. Ended up meeting the people around me a bit and getting the extra keycard I had to Valentine. Zets was covered by Arctic. Afterwards went out on an adventure to the mall for food. Had some A&W for supper then went back to the hotel for socialization and some gaming. Actually attended the opening ceremonies which was a fun experience, along with the Chocolate Social which was very tasty too. Went to bed late that night after a LOT of gaming.
Saturday was more of the same in regards to the dealer's Den. Very active day which was nice, lots of people dropping by and saying hi. Decided I would use the down time available to do some arting which I like how ti turned out. May even offer badges in the future (will post results later). That night went out for supper again, but found out that the malls in Montreal close at 5 on Saturdays and Sundays... which left me hungry. Ended up heading back to the hotel and having supper in their restaurant. That night was the dance and was gonna go play with my Diabolo at it though it seemed to have died early or something so ended up going to gaming then heading up to the room and hanging out with everyone there. Was a really relaxing and fun atmosphere. Oh, also caught the end of the Floor War which was really cool. Congrats to both Lumen and Zets for making it so far in it! And congrats to Hunter on a well deserved win there.
Sunday I... slept in... and rushed to the Dealer's Den. Luckily (the night before) I had found out the tail that I had to deliver was for Feli... who was also the con chair... and also the person who ran the booth across from me... which was convenient since I ran into him on route to the Dealer's Den so I could give him his tail! The rest of the day was pretty quite, ended up getting through a couple language barriers with aid from helpful people at the convention. Motivated me a bit to learn French proper. Afterwards I packed up quickly then ran back to the closing ceremonies to see what those were like. Was really interesting and was nice to see how much hard work went into the event. Later in the evening I went out with some locals to an all you can eat Sushi restaurant which was amazing. SOOO much good food, and wonderful company. I wish i could remember everyone's name to thank them but i'm really REALLY bad with names >.<; We socialized for a while then decided to head back to the con. Finally was followed up by the Dead Dog Party which was really calm and relaxed. Ended up helping some people with some things then bringing my Diabolo down, only to put on a demonstration of how to use a Diabolo several time with varying groups of people. After things started quieting down, ended up going to the Game's room once more and played in there till close. Afterwards I helped pack up the room then played one last game with them before taking off to my room at 5 am to sleep.
Monday I... slept in again... till noon this time, when my friend woke me up by calling me on my cell. Was a poor life choice on my part. We went out to Downtown Montreal to enjoy the sights, though first we stopped for Poutine. Proper Quebec Poutine. SO GOOD! Didn't finish it which was wonderful cause I took it back to the hotel and had it for supper that night. After poutine we went to old Montreal and saw the Notre Dame, wandered to the pier through old buildings, took in the sights, I got to see Habitat 67 which was wicked (not up close, from across the river), and we went shopping too. Managed to snag some canned maple syrup which was one item I was requested to get while there. I went back to the hotel after that, had supper and enjoyed some videos then went to bed
Tuesday I got up and shuttled to the airport, got aboard the plane and went home. Nothing super eventful during that... got wifi on the airplane which was advertised as free... but then I had to pay for it which was balls >:C Still paid for it, but wasn't happy about it.
Think that mostly sums up the experiences of the con... can't think of any others at this time that pop out... might have to do a better log of everything that happens next time round.
But yeah, had a blast, and will probably see about attending it again next year :3

Going to be attending What The Fur as a liaison for Amoryllis Studios as she was unable to go due to scheduling issues with her primary work.
As such, I'll be showing up in the dealer's den there selling her wares and contemplating if I'm confident enough in my abilities to sell commissions there as well.
In any case, I'm hoping to document this trip a bit better than I have prior outings of this type. Hopefully I'll have more than a single picture to represent an entire weekend XD
Will see you round when I get back!

Update - Conventions
General | Posted 9 years agoSo now that we're less than a month away from one of them, figure I should post on the Conventions I'll be attending this year and what is going on precisely with them.
I will be attending Fur-Eh (Edmonton) and What The Fur (Montreal) this year as a Convention Liaison for Amoryllis Studios, as run by Amoryllis.
What this means is I'll be mostly situated in the dealer's den for the cons but may pop out from time to time, though would greatly appreciate people dropping by.
Fur-Eh is local so might room with some friends and will wander a lot more, possibly driving to grab food and stuff round.
What The Fur is going to be solo for me, so I'll be handling the booth by myself, which also means I have a room to myself at this time. I AM looking to have a roommate for the con (or more depending on arrangements) though they will need to be vetted as I'm handling merchandise that isn't my own. I will post more details about the room arrangements as that is finalized.

Still doing a little art, work is eating up a majority of my time, plus other things like choir, sewing things, games nights, and socialization.
Oh, Birthday was yesterday (08/03) so that was nice ^^ lots of birthday wishes so thank you to those who sent those my way, they are all appreciated <3
And yeah, going to be trying to find some of the pictures I've drawn since the last journal and post them... just need to find and scan them first.

Cleaning and Reset

It has been a long time since I posted. Haven't had the motivation to do art or stuff as of late though getting back into the mood so figured I'd attempt to revive this account for that purpose.
Cleaning out journals, a few remain that I'm interested in saving some of it. A fair bit of the gallery will end up in scraps at some point, though for the time being it will remain untouched.
Mostly wanted to start cleaning and let people know that in case they wonder where things have gone.

Recently I've been rather motivated to do a design for a Steampunk Airship. So now I have to sketch it up and come up with some crew, and thus far (from talking with friends) I have the following crew and am looking for any additional mates who would be interested in coming aboard ^^
I can't make any guarantees as to what scenes you will appear in as I haven't decided on them yet, however, this is to try and motivate me into doing more arting and improve my technique :P

Well, I've been stressed lately with an assignment and stuff, as well as arting and blah.
But yah, was so stressed over the last 2-3 weeks from an assignment and midterms and stuff, I completely forgot about something that is pretty damn important for someone to remember... something everyone has and a lot of people I know get to enjoy this month.
Yep, I forgot my own birthday. I only just remembered yesterday that it is coming up on the 8th this month ^^ in fact, only a couple days away.
Yah... you have to be pretty stressed and pre-occupied to not remember your own birthday XD
In other news, I'm not really getting a break any time soon from the stressers in my life :/
So my plans for the next few weeks?
FRI MAR 5 - Gathering of friends at someone's place for a game night
SUN MAR 7 - Family dinner again, for my birthday and my cousin's birthday
SAT MAR 13 - Red Deer choir trip. Will be back in the afternoon hopefully
FRI MAR 19 - Rehearsal at the Winspear Center for the performance the next day
SAT MAR 20 - Performance with Choir at the Francis Winspear Center (if you can make it out please do ^^ we have an awesome performance lined up)
SUN MAR 21 - Yap and Draw in our area, celebrating a Fur's birthday in Edmonton
Finals, some time in April I think <.<
~TUE APR 20 - Sociology Exam
~WED APR 21 - English Exam
~FRI APR 23 - Electrical Engineering Exam in Transitors
~MON APR 26 - Computer Sciences Exam in Operating System Concepts
FRI APR 30 -> SUN MAY 9 - Choir tour out to eastern Canada ^^
