Lots of new art to upload!
Posted 4 years agoSo this account is basically a ghost town nowadays, but I do have a ton of new art to upload. My latest post was drawn over 5 years ago, so... it's been a while. My art style has actually evolved noticeably, and I have at least a couple dozen pieces ready to share. And many more WIPs that may end up in Scraps.
However I'm a lazy bitch who endlessly procrastinates posting my art online. Which results in journal posts like this every 2 or 3 years. (I'm sure at least a few people are thinking "holy shit he's alive??" right now.) So who knows when/if I'll actually get around to uploading everything here.
That said, I have been taking the occasional commission! Send me a note or message me @ CinnaWoofer on Telegram if you're interested and/or you want prices and examples. Also feel free to pester me about uploading my hoard of lewd art here, I could use the motivation.
P.S. Anyone else going to BLFC or MFF this fall?

Reminder: It's 2019 and you still can't change your username
Posted 6 years agoHow has this functionality not been implemented yet?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since FA is perpetually 5+ years behind the times. But still -- this is an option that nearly every furry-themed website has offered for years. I've changed my username on both SoFurry and InkBunny before. It's a pretty simple feature to have, and very convenient at that.
I would enthusiastically welcome the opportunity to change my username, because 1) it doesn't match the usernames that I use on other sites, and 2) I was 15 years old when I made this username back in 2008, hence the edgy "666" appended to the end. This username is NOT what I want to display to the furry community anymore. But in order to change it, I would have to create an entirely new account and lose over 2,200 watchers.
Here's hoping FA gets around to it eventually.
In other news, I posted more lewd art~ Go check it out! ;3

New artwork coming soon! + WIP sketches
Posted 6 years agoHey guys! This account has been super neglected for the last 2 years, and I finally decided I'm going to do something about it.
I have a couple dozen drawings that haven't been posted here, with several more in the works. I bought a new iPad Pro about 6 months ago (thanks to an excellent recommendation from Carrot) and my motivation to draw has drastically increased since I got it. It's SO much better than the tiny Wacom Bamboo tablet I used for like a decade before it. I'd like to get back into the habit of posting here regularly too! I might also occasionally post sketches and stuff on my Twitter account.
Here are some sneak peeks of drawings that I'm currently working on:
https://i.imgur.com/zQ2lIMJ.png

Oh, and I also have an insane amount of commissions to post over on my
fappuccino account. Seriously, expect a porn flood of apocalyptic proportions. Don't say I didn't warn you~ :3

FA's mature content policy is monumentally stupid.
Posted 8 years agoLast week, I logged on to discover that I had been suspended for a week because a drawing that I posted OVER 5 YEARS AGO violated the mature content policy.
I completely forgot that old ref sheet existed. Nor did I realize it violated the rules. I submitted an appeal on the grounds that I hadn't thought to go back through my gallery to check whether old art complied with the rules. It was a total oversight on my part. The suspension was lifted within a day. No big deal.
However... the suspension itself isn't the problem here. FA's stance on mature content is ridiculous and unnecessarily conservative. Because of this rule, even the slightest hint of a visible sheath on a completely innocent, non-sexual drawing means that the submission must be marked as "mature". Failing to do so could get me suspended again. Probably for more than a week.
I just went through both of my galleries and changed the ratings from "general" to "mature" on every single submission that contained a visible sheath. Which resulted in drawings such as these being marked as "mature":
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24891793/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1618409/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9032451/
Isn't that absurd? Is a feral animal's sheath really so disturbing that it needs to be hidden behind a content filter? Not like you'd ever see such things on an animal in real life. I bet this INCREDIBLY LEWD AND TOTALLY DISGUSTING PHOTO OF MY DOG would get me arrested. Or worse, expelled.
It's really a shame that this "think of the children" mentality has infected FA. I'll comply with their content rating rules only because I don't want my accounts suspended/banned... but I'll damn well exercise my right to bitch about it. The admin who came up with this overly strict rule is a daft asshat.

I commissioned a fursuit! + BLFC
Posted 8 years agoI really need to post here more often. I spend all my time on Telegram and Twitter nowadays. I might start posting my art to Twitter eventually (I do have some new drawings to post) so follow me there if you want to see it!
BLFC was fucking incredible. It was my first time attending a furry convention and I couldn't have imagined a better experience. I got to hang out with so many wonderful people and see lots of fursuits! I've been considering buying a fursuit of my own for a while now and this pushed me over the edge. I paid for a full suit today from FreakHound Studios and it should be done within a few months! *wiggles excitedly* Soon I'll be giving out big fluffy fire wolf hugs at conventions~
I'll be at MFF later this year and I'm considering attending Furry Migration in August as well. Let me know if you'll be at either one!

What are some good clothing/accessory sites for furries?
Posted 8 years agoI'd like to find some clothing and accessories that are tailored specifically to furries. Most of my clothes are pretty bland, so I want to start expanding my wardrobe. Something with a little furry flair would be nice. :3
Two sites that I've found so far are Hyena Agenda and Pawstar. I'd love to find some more!
Items that I'm especially interested in:
-- shirts with colorful graphic designs (particularly tank tops)
-- underwear / boxers
-- arm / leg warmers, stockings, etc.
-- a wearable tail

New art incoming + I'm on Telegram and Twitter!
Posted 9 years agoIt's been a while since I updated my FA account! Besides a random journal or submission every few months, I've done a pretty poor job of maintaining this account. Wonder how many people even remember I exist? :P Raise a paw if you weren't under the impression that I died or something.
I have been drawing semi-regularly during the past year or so, catching up on overdue commissions and whatnot. I simply haven't overcome my perpetual laziness enough to update my gallery here. So now it's time! I submitted some new drawings yesterday. Expect a few more over the course of this week. :D
I'm on Telegram constantly nowadays. Feel free to woof at me on there! Seriously, do it. I promise I won't bite -- unless you're into that.
https://telegram.me/Fyrien
I also created a Twitter account and I'll start posting my artwork there soon! It's likely the ONLY place that I'm going to be posting WIP sketches and other art-related stuff that I typically don't publicize. Follow me if you wanna see plenty of furry smut~

Enough about me! How has everyone been?

I have something shocking to confess.
Posted 9 years agoI still haven't seen Zootopia.
I'm a terrible furry.
...Although I've probably come across like 70,536,824 Zootopia porn drawings. That has to count for something.

Pride Festival + Bad Dragon
Posted 9 years agoAttended my first Pride festival yesterday! It was an interesting experience. Not quite as exciting as I imagined -- for the most part it was just like any other outdoors festival, with various tents and stands lined up, a concert stage, etc. There was an 18+ area though that featured some fascinating spectacles. Namely a muscular guy pole-dancing while wearing nothing but skimpy jean shorts, several people dressed in leather bondage outfits, a table full of penis-shaped soap (I kinda wish I had bought one for my bathroom countertop), and a guy giving lessons on how to intricately tie people up with rope. Never change, LGBT community. <3
Afterward, I went to a local ale house for a couple beers... and ran into a family member there! We're in a large city and neither of us live in that area, so that was pretty odd. Small world. I'm not "out" to that side of my family, but I feel like my rainbow accessories probably gave it away, haha.
In other news, after many years of coveting a Bad Dragon toy, I finally purchased one! I went for their newest product, Austin the fox. I'm already regretting not buying one of these things years ago~ People who also own Bad Dragon toys -- which products do you have? Any you'd recommend? I'm certainly open to expanding my collection in the future!

Since when did FA have a beta mode?
Posted 9 years agoIf you have no idea what I'm talking about:
* Go to Control Panel > Account Settings > Site Layout/Theme.
* Select "beta" for the template.
I was totally clueless about this until today. Maybe I need to follow Fender's journals more closely.
I remember the admins talking about overhauling the website YEARS ago -- back in 2010 or so, if I recall correctly. They produced a mock-up layout that looked really attractive and promising, but as far as I know, nothing ever came of it. Hence FA keeping the same layout for literally the entire 8 years that I've been a member. Historically, this website has done a subpar job of rolling out meaningful updates. I was pretty critical of them last week when they apparently decided that a poorly-placed "+Block" button needed to be added, despite there already being a "block list" in the Profile Info tab. Of all the things that FA lacks, why waste effort on that?
So this beta layout is refreshing. At least it's a sign that they're willing to take FA in a new direction, which they desperately need to. I hope they can continue making large updates to the beta mode and eventually implement it in full -- it needs a little work, but it looks a hell of a lot more modern and appealing than the current standard layout.

Dear FA, your Block feature is bad and you should feel bad!
Posted 9 years agoIt's perfectly placed to accidentally block someone instead of watch them. Why the hell would they put it there?
As an artist who watches a LOT of users (currently over 1400), I'm used to habitually clicking the button on the far right. Because it's always been the "+Watch" button. So I hover over the far right button, about to watch a new artist... WAIT SHIT THAT SAYS BLOCK.
This normally wouldn't be a huge problem. You can simply unblock them, right? But if that person is also watching you... it removes you from their watch list! So then you have to message them and say "Hey FA's block feature is a bag of dicks. Watch me again please? Be careful not to accidentally block me." :|
Here's my idea -- place the "Block" button safely over to the right side of the page. Like this:
http://i.imgur.com/iMfQC9s.png
Problem solved. But that would require FA staff to think logically, which seems to be difficult for them.

Follow me on FurryNetwork!
Posted 9 years agohttps://beta.furrynetwork.com/fyrien
It looks like a pretty nifty site, so I'm going to try my best to keep it updated. For that matter, I'm also going to start posting to InkBunny and Weasyl soon. I've neglected those accounts for too long. :P
FurryNetwork is currently in beta mode, so they're giving out registration keys in limited capacity. If you don't have an account and you want to sign up, go ahead and request a key! It only took about a day for me to receive mine~

I'm officially a university graduate!
Posted 9 years agoJust had my graduation ceremony yesterday. :D It's still barely sinking in that I'm done with school.
As if final exams and graduation proceedings weren't hectic enough -- my mom is moving to a new house, and I'm helping drive her belongings over 2,000 miles to the other side of the country. Starting tomorrow morning. x__x So basically, this is the most insane and exhausting week of my life.
The good news is: Now that I won't be bogged down by tedious homework assignments, I'll have much more free time to draw and write! <3

What are your favorite kinks? I might draw yours!
Posted 10 years agoAs an artist that primarily draws canines engaging in fairly conventional sexual acts, I've been thinking that I need to branch out a little.
Are there any particular fetishes you would love to see me draw? I don't care how weird it is, I'm open to pretty much everything but the really extreme stuff (gore, scat, etc.).
If I find your suggestion appealing, I might contact you about doing a discounted commission sometime in the future. And by that, I mean I'd do a fully-colored pic of your character(s) for like $20 or something. Way cheaper than I should reasonably ever offer. :0 I'm currently working on a discounted commission for someone who I actually approached first because I was curious about drawing their fetishes, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Also, what does everyone have planned for Halloween? I'm going out to dinner aaaand... probably not much else. But I have homework to work on, so I suppose it's for the best. :<

Do you like raunchy M/M/M yiff stories? Of course you do!
Posted 10 years agoStories don't seem to receive much attention on FA (at least, not compared to sites like SoFurry), but I've been thoroughly enjoying writing adult stories lately and I hope to make them a bigger part of my artistic repertoire. I just posted one such story and I would like to encourage my watchers to read it. :D
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17922284/
Seriously. You won't regret it. It features a male otter getting thoroughly dominated by a frisky pack of wolves. If that doesn't convince you to read it, I don't know what will.
DICKS. It involves lots of dicks.
...And butt stuff.
Are you convinced yet? Do I need to call in a favor from the Hypnotoad?

I'm not dead, I promise!
Posted 10 years ago...Of course, if I actually were dead, that's exactly what the person who murdered me and assumed my identity would say. :0
Anyways, things are going quite well in Fyrien-land. I'm currently plowing through my last semester of university and I have a full-time job lined up for January. I also might (finally) be getting my own apartment in a few months, since my workplace is almost 40 miles from where I currently live. Commuting that far is an absolute bitch, and I'd rather avoid it if possible.
Somehow, in the midst of all this, I've found the time to both draw and write. I've been in a massively creative mood recently. I have a few drawings to upload here within the next few days, as well as a couple yiff stories. I have no idea if any of my followers here actually care about adult stories, but I encourage you to read my work! I put lots of effort into producing high-quality fapping material. ;3 (Side note: I really need to update my other artwork accounts. My SoFurry and Weasyl accounts are out of date, and my Inkbunny and Tumblr accounts are completely empty. I'm such a lazy fuck.)
To anyone whom I haven't talked to in ages: How's life?

Considering creating a new account
Posted 10 years agoI've been toying with the idea of creating a new account and basically abandoning this one. :0 I'm tired of the generic username (why did I add "666" to the end? seriously) and I'd rather have something with a bit more appeal. The problem is that all of my artwork and watchers are tied to this account... I don't intend to reupload everything to the new account, and I'm sure many of my watchers wouldn't end up following me over. Which means I'd basically be starting anew.
Good idea or bad idea? I'm kinda on the fence.
In other news, I've been quite busy during the past several months, which is why my online activity has all but ceased. I landed a summer internship with a prominent engineering company and I only have one semester of university left before I graduate. So things are looking up! I'm going to have much more free time for artwork in the future now that I'm not bogged down with a full-time school schedule. :D
So new account or not, I plan to be much more active on here. And I'm also going to start updating the following accounts regularly -- if you're not watching me there, go do it! I'll give you a cookie!
SoFurry
InkBunny
Weasyl

Tell me something about yourself!
Posted 11 years agoWell, it looks like I've finally reached that familiar point where I realize, "Fuck, school starts tomorrow and I haven't accomplished 95% of the things I wanted to do this summer." -__- Going on a massive artistic frenzy was one of those goals I planned to tackle, but it didn't quite pan out. I've spent the last month or so applying for jobs and preparing for my senior year in university, leaving me without much free time to devote to my artwork. While I did manage to finish a few fully-colored pieces earlier in the summer, and I feel like my drawing style has developed pretty well recently, I was really hoping to make more progress. But oh well! Regardless, I've been more active in 2014 than during the past couple years. :) This journal will be my attempt to make up for my prolonged inactivity on this website.
Tell me something about yourself! It can be anything! Ate nachos for lunch yesterday? I'd love to hear about it! Recently challenged a ferocious Jamaican yeti to a competitive and nervewracking game of Words With Friends? Tell your story! I've made some fantastic friends in the six years (!) that I've been a member of FurAffinity, but I have so many watchers that I've never even talked to, and many more that I've lost touch with over the years.
I'd like to get to know you people better!
Also, feel free to ask me questions as well! Is there anything about me that you'd like to know? :0

What exactly is Patreon all about?
Posted 11 years agoI've noticed a lot of artists on here mentioning that they've created Patreon accounts. From what I understand, it's essentially a website that allows people to donate money to help fund your artwork/projects. It sounds like a pretty cool idea, but I haven't really looked into it beyond what I've read on a few artists' pages... so I have a few questions for anyone who has used it.
Is it effective? How is it any different from posting a Paypal donation link on your userpage? Does Patreon charge fees and/or take a cut from donations? :0 Are there any tricks to using it? Anything to watch out for or be careful of? I'm considering creating my own account to try it out, but it'd be really helpful if I can get some general opinions from the artist community beforehand. Since I'm planning to doodle up several pages worth of yiff comics in the near future, a method for receiving donations would really give me some incentive to focus on the comic instead of taking a bunch of commissions.

YCH Auction + Commissions!
Posted 11 years agoI just posted a YCH auction with a "feral on anthro" theme. It features three different perspectives and will be fully-colored.
Go check it out! :D Bidding starts at only $5 per character and it ends on Saturday afternoon.
I'm also planning to open up a few commissions now that I have some free time during the summer. Would anyone be interested? :3 I'm considering offering discounted prices for a short period of time. This may be your only chance to commission me for quite a while -- once my senior year of university starts up in late August, I'm going to have absolutely NO free time to draw.

What is a reasonable price for a yiff comic?
Posted 11 years agoI'm a huge fan of yiff comics and I've always wanted to draw one myself, but I've never been able to make the time commitment required to work on a large artwork project. Now that I'm off from school for the summer and I have lots of free time, I'm considering holding an auction for a yiff comic -- but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it.
I was thinking I could set a bidding ladder so that the amount of pages goes up according to the highest bid -- for example, I could make it so that each $40 added to the winning bid gets you an extra page. So $40 gets you one page, $80 gets you two pages, and so on (I'd probably set a maximum of 10-12 pages). Does that sound reasonable? Considering that I typically charge $50+ for a two-character drawing, getting a fully-colored comic for $40 per page would be a steal. I feel like I should charge more than that, but I don't want to drive the prices up high enough that no one will bid.
What do you guys think? If I post a comic auction, would you be interested in bidding on it?

Any beer enthusiasts out there? What are your favorites?
Posted 11 years agoAfter turning 21 back in December, I've discovered the magic that comes with being able to buy your own alcohol. :D I've never been a huge fan of drinking, and to be honest, I think I've only gotten legitimately drunk maybe three times (and during one of those experiences, I pretty much ruined vodka for myself by drinking waaaay too much at once... dear god, never again). Hard alcohol just isn't quite my thing, which has resulted in me defying the stereotypical image of a university student by almost never drinking or partying. I tend to drink alcohol more for the interesting flavor combinations than the inebriated shenanigans -- which is why I've really come to enjoy drinking beer!
Never thought I'd become a beer drinker, as my previous impression of beer was that it tasted absolutely disgusting, based on a few sample sips I'd had of friends' beers. But guess what? That's because everyone around me was drinking mass-produced, watered-down stuff like Bud Light. No wonder I thought I didn't like beer. That stuff is easily drinkable, but by no means delicious. >__> A close friend introduced me to craft beer a few months back and I've slowly been turning into a beer enthusiast. So far it seems like the brews I enjoy most are the dark brown, rich/roasty/nutty ones -- anything Scottish or German in particular. Here are some of the best ones I've tried:
Sam Adams Boston lager (would recommend this to anyone, even if you don't consider yourself a beer drinker!)
Four Peaks Kilt Lifter (another good one to start out with -- this is the first beer I drank that I truly liked)
Anchor Steam beer (unique and delicious with an interesting history)
Founders Dirty Bastard (SUCH a well-made beer, but it's also pretty strong)
Spaten Dunkel (another one I'd highly recommend -- it's from Munich and its name translates to "Spade Dark")
Ballast Point Sculpin (I'm not a huge fan of "pale ales" or "IPAs" and even I think this stuff is fantastic)
Redd's Strawberry Ale (more of a cider than a beer/ale, and a damn delicious one ... my friends aren't really beer drinkers and they LOVE this stuff)
What are your favorites? Anything you would recommend?

It's my 21st birthday! + Happy New Year's!
Posted 11 years agoJust a quick journal update to mention that it's my 21st birthday today! :D Tonight is going to make for an exciting New Year's Eve. I can't believe I'm 21 already -- I remember several years ago when I joined this site, back when I wasn't even openly gay, nor old enough to view adult artwork (but come on, obviously I did anyways ;3). It's been a long journey since then and I've met some awesome people along the way!
Happy New Year's, everyone! It feels like the end half of this year absolutely flew by. I hope you all have a fantastic 2014. :D

Fighting back + Might open some CHEAP sketch commissions!
Posted 12 years agoAfter taking a short break and reflecting on my artwork situation, I've decided that this art block can go fuck itself. :P Despite being frustrated about how my artwork has been turning out lately, I'm not going to improve if I give up and stop drawing altogether. I don't feel all that motivated at the moment, but that's besides the point. I owe people commissions and I need to finish them, so... it's time to get to work! Starting immediately, I'm going to draw until my arms fucking fall off! *runs off to grab tablet*
Also, thanks to those who offered words of support on my last journal. And sorry for ranting, I was just particularly frustrated at the time and needed to vent.
Once I finish up the drawings that I owe, I'm considering opening a bunch of cheap sketch commissions -- I'm talking $8-10 per character, and each piece would be partially colored and shaded. This will basically be an effort to get myself into the habit of drawing regularly. If everything goes as planned, I'll be able to complete about a sketch a day. Would anyone be interested in one of these sketches? They'd be of similar quality to this drawing (maybe a little more refined): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10644172/
Current artwork owed:
Kaz_3000 commission - coloring, almost completed
"At Your Service" YCH - coloring
KlausD commission - pending

So frustrated... :/
Posted 12 years agoIf my inactivity continues in the near future, here's why:
I've been struggling with a nasty art slump for over a month now, and it's really beginning to piss me off. :/ I had hoped to finish off the drawings I owe quickly this summer, then open up commissions right away... but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. Every time I attempt to draw something, it turns out way below my expectations... like something I would have drawn four years ago, back when my grasp of proportions and anatomy hadn't developed at all. That's just what it feels like -- as if my sense of anatomy has completely deteriorated. I've also attempted to color my recent YCH auction on a few different occasions, but... something just seems off. It's not my best work. FAR from my best work. .__.
I have no idea WHY I'm struggling so badly to output anything, but it couldn't have come at a worse time. I actually have time to doodle now? Oh look! I'm suddenly unable to draw! -__- Fuck. At this point, I'm legitimately considering finishing off these last couple commissions I owe and just... stopping. Going on an indefinite hiatus or something. If my artwork continues turning out so subpar, I'm pretty much just setting myself up for disappointment each time I pick up my tablet. It's not enjoyable anymore, and I can't make money on commissions if I struggle just to sketch and color a simple character. So why bother?
Also, I broke my toe after being viciously attacked by the corner of my couch. D:
