Gone for a week + Driving permit
Posted 15 years agoI'm getting dragged to San Diego with my dad for an entire week. .__. I'm thrilled to escape from the blazing Arizona heat, but there's no computer, no TV, and no PS3/PS2 at my dad's apartment. This is gonna SUCK. The only forms of entertainment I'll have are a portable DVD player (I only own a few DVDs, so I have a limited selection) and my Nintendo DS (I only own 3 games, so that'll get boring very quickly). Not to mention I'll have to deal with my dad smoking constantly. >__> If I don't return from San Diego, it's 'cause I either died of boredom or smoke inhalation.
Also, I'm taking the test for my driving permit today. :D My friend and I have procrastinated it for a year and half, so we figured it's time we finally got off our asses and got our permits. Fy on the road... Now that's a scary thought. >:3

Not only does it get rid of all those annoying ads on the side of the screen, but it also fixes a few small errors and annoyances in FA's coding. You have to have both Firefox -and- Stylish to download this script though. Registration?
Posted 15 years agoAnyone have any idea when new account registration will be enabled? :/ If I remember correctly, they stopped registration to prevent trolls from creating multiple accounts to spam users... but that happened -months- ago. You'd think the problem would've been resolved by now. :P
Other than that, I don't really have any journal-worthy news. Nothin' much going on over here. *shrugs* The computer seems to be working fine, although there have been a few tense moments when it's frozen on me. >__> Also, I bought some temporary hair dye and my hair is now a shiny, navy blue color. I liek. :B

Posted 15 years agoLast night, I tried to unsuccessfully start my computer at least a dozen times... This morning, my mom turned it on and the only response was a loud, almost-violent whirring noise (but Windows still didn't start up)...
Well guess what? About an hour ago, I randomly tried to start it up again, and --by some ungodly miracle-- THE MOTHERFUCKER TURNED ON. And it appears to be fully-functioning without any trace of last night's issues. This isn't the first time this computer has miraculously survived a near-death experience. >__> It's already been attacked by viruses on two separate occasions, and now this... And somehow, all my files and programs are still intact. O__o I can't believe it.
I can't even begin to comprehend how this happened... >__> Does anyone have any idea why a computer would mysteriously die, show pretty much no sign of life for an entire day, then suddenly start working again?

Here's what happened -- I was working on an animation project, using a program called Alice, when both Alice and Firefox simultaneously started glitching and freezing. The problem only got worse, so I held down the power button and turned the computer off.
Now here's where the issues started: The computer wouldn't turn back on. :l No matter what I do, the monitor remains completely blank, and the tower does nothing but emit a low, constant beeping noise. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but after speculating with Nalan-TheMuse, we think some component of the tower may be fried.
What does this mean? I may need to buy a new computer. And that's likely not possible, because I'm flat broke, and my mom can't afford to buy anything even remotely expensive. My dad -DOES- have the money to buy me a new laptop, but he's so cheap that I doubt he'll ever do so. I'm currently typing this journal through my phone, so I -do- have internet access, but it's very limited. I can type journals and respond to messages/notes, but that's about it. I can't draw because I have nothing to use my tablet with. Most of my artwork has likely been erased anyways (only a small portion of it was saved on my flash drive), so... don't expect any new artwork for a -LOOONG- time. :/
Basically, this is a giant setback for my online activites. If you -really- want to keep in touch with me, note me and I might give you my cell number (for texting only). I'm not sure when/if I can get a new computer, or get this one fixed, if that's even possible. It could be days, weeks... even months. Until then, I'll be very inactive. Sorry everyone. .__.

I finally came out to my best friend earlier this week, something I've been dreading for -MONTHS-... and he took it surprisingly well. :3 *huggles him* But now the issue is: do I go for broke and just tell everyone?
I've never been very comfortable with being gay... Rarenth and Nalan-TheMuse have helped me a great deal with their continuous support (<3), but I still have that persistent fear of openly telling people. :/ I haven't even told my own parents yet. And I -do- feel like just getting it over with and admitting it, because I know I'll have to someday, but... I don't know if I'm ready. And I don't know how others will react.
The few people who know I'm gay seem to agree, at least to a point, that I should only confide in my closest friends. After all, I'll be a senior in high school next year, and high school is basically one giant drama-llama. That's the main thing I'm afraid of -- I'll tell one person, who will tell their friends, and so on, until the entire school knows, and drama ensues. There are already quite a few open bisexuals at my school, but the only gays I know of don't have the best reputations; in fact, back in middle school, I remember a gay couple being ridiculed and harassed because everyone thought they were strange. :/ Of course, I don't expect to be ridiculed to that degree, but... you never know, I guess. I don't want to risk coming out and then getting teased for it.
So... I'm struggling with who I should admit it to. Should I just come out and say "Guess what? I'm gay. Deal with it."? Or keep it a secret between myself and a few close friends?
What do you guys think?

Posted 15 years agoI've gotten a few suggestions about opening commissions lately, but I'm still a bit reluctant to do so. xD Mainly because I'm incredibly lazy and I already owe drawings to several people... and also because I'd feel guilty if I took half a year (or more, which -has- happened) to finish a simple drawing.
But here's the good news: MY SUMMER VACATION STARTS NEXT THURSDAY! :D Which means I'll be free to waste endless hours on FA with my fellow furries, drawing and/or drooling over teh pr0nz! x3 This will also give me a good chance to FINALLY finish the drawings that I owe. If I can finish those drawings soon, I'll consider opening yiff commissions. I'll likely start out with simple sketches (for a meager price of $3 or so), because honestly, full-color drawings are a pain. in. the. -ass-. >__>

The story gained a lot of popularity on Yiffstar -- over 100 faves, making it one of the top 10 stories of the 9-month period it was submitted in. :3 Of course, this was before Yiffstar became Sofurry, which in all possible ways DESTROYED what was once a decent website. >__> I miss the old Yiffstar. Sofurry is difficult to navigate and most of the well-written stories mysteriously disappeared when they created the new site.
I'm also considering writing more yiff stories in the future. Good idea? :D Not to mention that I'll probably submit a fuckton of random new drawings tomorrow. Should hopefully make you guys very happy. <3

BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT. :O Unless of course your ass really does take up an entire acre, and in that case, I applaud you for reaching such levels of disgusting gluttony that your buttocks can be considered a small country. My summer vacation begins on May 27th, so I'll likely update both my FA and dA accounts around that time.

Wardrobe malfunction! :O
Posted 15 years agoDid you know it's not a good idea to bounce on a trampoline while wearing loose pants?
I was invited to my friend's house earlier today for her birthday party, and the first thing we noticed was the gigantic trampoline in her backyard. So my friend and I immediately started jumping on it, and we were soon joined by my friend's older sister and two other girls who had been invited to the party. You can guess what happened next -- I bounced exceptionally high, and suddenly my pants slid down to my knees. xD AWKWAAAAARD.
At least all they saw was my boxers. >__> But hey, you've gotta laugh at yourself sometimes. I think it was hilarious, despite being slightly embarrassing.
Has anyone else experienced embarrassing moments with friends and/or in public? Stories plz. :3

Furry Dating?
Posted 15 years agoI'm gonna start off by saying I -finally- GOT A NEW PHONE! :D It's much nicer than the shitty flip-phone I previously owned, and best of all, it comes with internet access. I'm currently typing this journal using my phone's QWERTY keyboard! <3 *is extremely happy*
Anyways, here's the main reason I'm typing this journal: I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to find available furries online (likely on FA since this is the only furry site that I use regularly).
It seems like most of the furries I meet are in some kind of relationship. :/ I'd prefer an online relationship because I don't know any furries irl and I don't want to bother hunting a few down. Also, most of my friends don't know about my furry-related activities and I'd prefer it to stay that way for the time being. I'm fine with online relationships, but I'm not sure how to find other single furries who would also want to date. :P
If anyone has advice/recommendations, I'd be glad to hear them. Oh, and I'm pretty sure there are some furry-dating sites out there, but I'm not too interested in them. I'd rather keep it on FA.

My spoon actually was too big. My friend and I ate at an Asian restuarant on Saturday night, and I decided to get something different -- soup with spicy chicken and some kind of curry in it. It tasted awesome, but there was one problem: they had knives and forks... but no spoons. D:
I asked one of the employees about, and the only spoon he could find in the entire building was a -soup ladle-. *lmao* I ate soup out of a tiny bowl, with a utensil nearly as big as the bowl. Hilariously awkward. :3

TROJAN VIRUS! FFFFFF

That was a fucking close one. OOOMFG. .__.
Yesterday I suddenly started getting dozens of notifications from my "Vista AntiVirus" program... which I didn't know I had until yesterday. >__> The notifications warned me that there was a "security breach" and that spyware/viruses were currently attacking my unprotected computer. My reaction was basically utter confusion; I have McAfee AntiVirus, which should have protected my computer against potential threats, but apparently didn't do a very good job. And since when did I have Vista AntiVirus...?
Vista did a scan and told me I had 29 potential threats that had to be removed, but that I needed to purchase the updated 2010 version in order to remove them. THAT was what made me think "Wait, WTF? O__o" I have a Windows Vista computer -- shouldn't AntiVirus be fucking free?
So I ran a McAfee scan earlier today and it turns out that I have a Trojan virus; it also said that the Trojan was the ONLY security threat, as opposed to the 29 threats that Vista AntiVirus said I had. McAfee quarantined the virus, and almost immediately "Vista AntiVirus" disappeared from my computer. It was spyware that had been installed on my computer along with the Trojan virus, but ironically it was alerting me ABOUT the Trojan virus. Not sure how that works, but at least it got my attention. O__o
Long story short, the Trojan screwed with all the programs on my computer so that I couldn't open them, but I realized it could be fixed with a System Restore. It seems to have done the job properly, but I'm still a little nervous... .__. I just came WAY too close to losing my computer. This is the second time within a two-month span that I've had to do a System Restore.
Oh, and I'm uninstalling McAfee and replacing it with AVG, which actually works right, or so I'm told.

It was spyware that had been installed on my computer along with the Trojan virus, but ironically it was alerting me ABOUT the Trojan virus. Not sure how that works, but at least it got my attention. O__o
Long story short, the Trojan screwed with all the programs on my computer so that I couldn't open them, but I realized it could be fixed with a System Restore. It seems to have done the job properly, but I'm still a little nervous... .__. I just came WAY too close to losing my computer. This is the second time within a two-month span that I've had to do a System Restore.
Oh, and I'm uninstalling McAfee and replacing it with AVG, which actually works right, or so I'm told.

Posted 15 years agoOne of my good friends wants to create an FA profile, but when she clicked "Register" on FA's main page, she received a message saying "New account registration has been temporarily suspended". I tried it as well and got the same message.
Anyone know what's going on?
Also, I'm slightly annoyed at the stereotypes floating around about furries. :/ I texted one of my rl friends asking if she knew what furries were, and she replied back saying she didn't. When I sent her a link to the Wikipedia page titled "Furry Fandom", she immediately texted back saying that both her mom and her best friend had freaked out when I mentioned furries, cautioning her not to read the Wikipedia page because "furries are the ones that dress up in suits and have sex."
Guess where they heard this information? From that damn CSI episode. *FUCKING FACEPALM*

I used to get 100+ faves per drawing on dA, but I've been somewhat inactive for the past year. Now I get 20-40 faves per drawing, even though I personally think my artwork has improved. >__> It's making me wonder why I post art over there if everyone's forgotten about it.
I would just delete all my artwork from dA and move over here, but I have so many friends on dA. D: And another problem is that my non-mature artwork gets completely overlooked here on FA. Drawings with 50 faves on dA get less than 10 here.
Sooo... I dunno. I'm considering finishing the half-dozen non-yiff drawings I owe, then leaving dA -- maybe not permanently, but at least for a few months.

O__o All the really popular artists are female, with the exception of a certain few, like Zaush and Artdecade. Even Blotch, who I initially thought to be a guy, turned out to be two girls collaborating to make their amazing artwork. :P
Of course, if they draw good yiffy, I don't care either way. xD I just think it's odd that male artists rarely rise to popularity on FA, despite the amount of gay/bi males (and the occasional straight guy, of course xD) who frequently browse this site.
