After a long and unnecessary break I've decided to return and hopefully be a little more active in the new year, and I'm going to start that by catching up on some characters that I haven't fully developed yet. The only problem with that is I can't decide which one of my (mostly) in-development characters I want to focus on first. Therefore, I'm going to crowdsource and set a little bit of a deadline for myself as that's the only way I actually get any work done. I currently have four characters that have yet to receive a formal profile despite some of them already appearing in pictures/stories. Internet has finally been reconnected to the house so life is getting closer to normal for me. I've spent 50+ hours the last 10 days raking and mowing all the storm debris shit out of my yard, and glad to finally be done with that now. Contractor has given me an estimate and I've passed that onto the insurer so ball is in their court now. I'm cautiously optimistic that'll all get approved so now the game is just hurry up and wait. I definitely am very lucky; the damage to my place is all external and was able to stay here the whole time.

Been using my time away to brainstorm plot outlines, picture ideas, and basically everything that I wanted to be doing instead of laying in a house with no AC after working and hauling crap for 8 hours a day. Power came back after a week and things are slowly crawling back into something that could be considered normal.

I was planning on deleting the last journal once I got back, but honestly I was a little overwhelmed by the all the support and comments so I think I'm going to leave it. Thank you to all who responded or took the time to try and reach out to me. It's been a real shitshow and stuff like that really kept the spirits up, so thank you all truly.

As the title says I will be offline for an extended period of time. Will maybe have once or twice a day to check on submissions and whatnot, but won't be around in any interactive capacity. Reason for that being a tornado hit my house. I got extremely lucky and it all appears to be exterior damage (roof, siding, windows) but other people in my neighborhood weren't so lucky. Never seen such devastation before, and it was legitimately the most terrifying experience of my life. Power poles were literally snapped in two, and the best guess estimate for when power may be restored is 2 to 3 weeks. Who know how long it'll take to get hooked back up online after that. Hell, I don't even know where my power and cable lines are, they're just gone. Will probably delete this journal when I'm back online for good, but just wanted to give a heads up to those I've commissioned or was in the process of working out a commission that life delivered one hell of a sucker punch to me and I may need some time before I can get back to you.

Okay, so here we go. 2018 was decently productive. Did a lot of collaborative work with  vivavulpes getting City of Thorns started (final chapter is in-progress by the way so keep an eye out for that) as well as character consulting and planning for Tarrenwood.  vivaredlight also got some love so check that out if you're up for some non-canon/NSFW content. Don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but anything posted over there is for fun and not to be considered in any further context aside from that. Characters and motivations are exaggerated or given leeway to make things work.

Speaking of characters, I'm hoping this year will be the one where I get a little more in gear. I currently have a 2 part story in the works to introduce Deja Vu, one of my villainesses. Story should not only be an adequate introduction for her, but also will answer the question of why you haven't heard of her before now (ironic given the name). I have a couple heroes that need their bios finished and will be trying to get that. I also have a new villain in the works that I'm 99% committed to making a reality.

Now if this double whammy of procrastination and apathy ever cuts me some slack we'll see how that all goes.

I rarely make journal posts, and now seems like a good time. Just climbed over 10,000 favorites on this page, so to everyone out there thanks for the support and continued interest.

Still working on the stories mentioned in the last journal. The second and final part of "Question of Conscience" will be completed by the end of this month, and then after a short break I'll start working again on the "Out of Place" story which takes some familiar characters and puts a new twist on them.

So, I normally don't like making journals like this because it always comes off, in my opinion anyway, as attention seeking. I think I'm willing to set aside this bit of unease this time for a couple reasons. First is that I haven't made a freaking journal entry since August, so about damn time. Second is that a little bit of opinions/feedback would be interesting to read. If you have no strong opinions either way over what follows then please feel free not to say anything as no one should ever feel an obligation to have an opinion.

Anyway, here's the deal. Have two stories in progress at the moment and I'm trying to decide which one gets my attention and will be finished in the next month or two. I say that now, but best laid plans of mice and men and all that crap. So, which of these seem more interesting to you, or what would make you interested in reading either of them? One shows a different take on one of my most hated villains, and the other introduces another character I've had in the works for a while.

Cassandra Hawkins is a very successful consultant, and has contracts with plenty of companies throughout Colmaton. However, she also specializes in a different kind of contract work. As a technopath known as H4ck, she'll infiltrate and steal information from any computer network no matter how secure provided you can follow the conditions of her employment. She may be in over her head this time, as her latest job will be to steal from Decker Security Innovations which just happens to be run by the famous unregistered heroine War Wolf! Stay tuned to see how that encounter goes.

Well it seems the overwhelming majority opinion is to push forward with Question of Conscience so I will continue working on that and try and have a new chapter out before August hopefully. I'm not abandoning Out of Place of course, but that one will have to wait until QoC is done.

As the title says, I'm personally celebrating that I finally finished my largest story to date. Darkness at Dawn has now wrapped up, and I can move on to other stories that I've neglected for a while. I gotta be honest, with the exception of some collabs that I'm working on I'll probably shy away from multi-part stories for a while. Rather demoralizing when I realized just how long it took me to release this damn thing, despite storyboarding the entire thing right from the start. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy.

On that note though, something I personally wanted to explain about the story so as to clear up misconceptions that are entirely my fault to begin with. A lot of people have expressed some shock to me at Sharpfury's actions in this story and what he's done. This is all intentional, and that is what the canon Sharpfury is like. Where the misconceptions lie is in the multitude of pictures that I have commissioned over the years involving him. That's not to say that he isn't a kidnapper and somewhat of a bondage expert, but here is just so soooooo much more as to why he's such a reviled villain. The majority of pictures I get with him, while still mostly being what he'd act like anyway, are mostly for my entertainment and to draw upon my particular tastes. Those of which should be obvious if you've spent any time looking at my gallery, and probably where I accumulated a great deal of watchers from to begin with. Anyway, the point I'm slowly beating to death is that yes, he is indeed a vicious villain and not just some horny dude that's good with a knot.

Seriously. W T F happened to 2014?

Figured with the last couple holidays coming up I'd take a step back and look at what still needs to be done. What really needs to be done is to have me kicked in the ass for fiddling around for so long with story writing. Yes I post a new picture with a story just about every week, but I also enjoy full stories. I've learned that what I don't enjoy is writing them. More specifically, sitting my ass down and actually forcing myself to write them. Given that I will have a lot of free time coming up soon I think I can manage to set a few deadlines for myself, and be somewhat on the practical side. Darkness at Dawn: Chapter 2 will be out by New Year's Eve, and the 3rd and final chapter will be out by the end of January. There, now that it's been written down on the internet it must be the unquestionable law of the land.

As the title said, I ain’t dead yet. Been dealing with a wicked bad case of writer’s block lately, but I think I may have finally nipped it in the bud. How did I do this you ask? By finally writing something to go with the most requested image I have. Clearly it isn’t something that’s in my normal element, but I took a crack at it anyway and I’m fairly pleased with the result.

On that note I did some storyboarding for Chapter 2 of Darkness at Dawn and should be able to hammer that one out within the next couple of weeks. Pitiful that it has taken me so long to get out a story that is only going to be three chapters, but I hope the result is worth it in the end.

In all seriousness I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get the first chapter of "Darkness at Dawn" done. This story is weird in that I went into it with a pretty clear idea of how I wanted chapters 2 and 3 to flow, but I had no idea how to actually start the damn story. This chapter went through several re-wrights before I was finally satisfied with it, and you can read it here. With any luck you won't have to wait half a year before I get the next two chapters out.

Though it's not like I haven't just been sitting around doing nothing. Entered a couple writing contests that I did pretty well in, came up with a few more story ideas that I'm going to explore when I have the time, and I even developed three new characters. Basically everything and anything I could do to not be working on the story I should have been writing xD

Anyway, mini-rant over. Though this does remind me of a good quote I saw in a demotivational poster. "Procrastination is like masturbation. It's great at the start, but in the end you realize you just fucked yourself."

If you're anything like me (ain't that a scary thought) then you'll remember how in school whenever you got an assignment, you waited until the very last day to actually do it, and that was totally fine. I used to love that because the teacher usually wasn't going to assign you anything else while you were theoretically working on the assignment you were already given. That's all well and good for school, but what happens when you apply the same theory to your hobby? I've been sitting on several story ideas for a while, and since I have no deadlines to speak of, they've just been collecting dust in my head. That's where this journal post comes in. I figure if I let y'all know what's in the works, then I'll in some way find myself beholden to actually work on these and then they'll get done... sooner or later...

All bitter feuds between heroes and villains have to start somewhere. In the case of Vesara and Sharpfury, their conflict started over two years ago. Her fight would ignite a bitter hatred in the villain that would last for years to come, and the lasting friendship of those saved.

Vesara has been hard at work ever since she started her heroine career in New Dawn. Desperate to be rid of her, the criminal element contract an unstable killer from her past, Sharpfury. "My family. Not in a relationship at the moment so nothing going on there."

"Yes they do. We could be on a Hallmark card or something."

"The darkness! It's all around me, closing in, and I can't break out. AHHHHHHHHHH! Randomness aside, nothing I can really think of at the moment."

"I considered getting my tongue pierced once, but Mom ended up dragging me away by my ear. A tattoo would be fun, but I've always been too paranoid that they'll make something up. How would I ever know?"

"We had this adorable, feral cat when I was little. Used to crawl up on me whenever I was laying down and would just go to sleep on my chest. Don't have any now, but I'd love to have another one like that."

Meant to post this sooner, but now that I delayed for so long I can kill two birds with one stone. Yeah, totally meant to do that and it wasn't just my own procrastination >.>
Thank you to everyone who stuck around to see the full story of Hunting Trophies play out.  vivavulpes and I had a lot of fun with this and there will probably be more events like this in the future. I personally think it went really well and I enjoyed how we were able to convey the story from different viewpoints.

Last time I mentioned the "Legends of Sandstalker" contest. Final entries are due today by 2359 and the winner will be announced on 5 September. There was a lot of talent (including yours truly [oh yeah, stroke that ego]) that entered and you can find the full participant and story list here.

On a completely unrelated note, been playing a ton of Saint's Row 4. Now I'm an achievement/completionist whore so I just want to throw it out that I think it's total fucking bullshit that one of the challenges involves cruising around in an alien vehicle for 2500000 feet! May not sound like much, but when I'm flying at max speed from one end of the map to the other and only tick off another 20000... well, you can do the math on how long that's going to take.

Going to be trying something new tomorrow.  vivavulpes and I have been working a bit of a collaborative project for a while now. You'd have to have been raised by squirrels your entire life (I've heard rumors of it happening, just sayin) to have not heard the expression "A picture is worth a thousand words." Quite often this is true, but every now then a few extra words here and there help with the experience.

With that being said, starting tomorrow  vivavulpes and I will be releasing a picture a day to go along with a story. Some of these pictures have been floating around for a while, but now there's a story that goes with them so that makes them new so shut up. Here's the fun part. The story won't be the same depending on whose profile you currently happen to be on. The perspective (and thus outlook of the events) will be different on each of our profiles. Confused yet? "Sudoku. Love anything that makes me think and it drives my co-workers nuts when I do it in pen without taking notes. Outside though I love snow skiing. Not snowboarding though, last time I tried that I nearly cracked my head open on this huge rock and I was like, 'Okay, done now.'"

"I love those little energy shots. Don't work for some people but they are like when Popeye gets his spinach, I'm good to go after one of those."

"Can't give the exact date, secret identity and what not, but it's in December. Another reason I love winter."

"I'm plenty nice to people that have common decency and generally try to be nice. However, if you're deliberately wasting my time or if you've got an ulterior motive going on, then yeah I'm a bitch."

"I have some that I'd rather not talk about. Don't want some villain picking up the paper and jotting down notes."

That's kind of why I enjoy it though. I know the things are wrong, but it's supposed to be a fun spectacle and I treat exactly like that."
