For when I come back.txt
Posted 7 years agoHello there...
It's been a while. I feel the need to explain my absence. I'll try to keep it short, because the last 3 times I tried to write this it took up over 1000 words. Basically, I left because I was trying to limit my exposure to the bad in the world. Hopefully I've managed to build up a tolerance, because I'm coming back. But things are different now.
First and foremost, I'm not posting from behind a facade anymore. I used to post from the perspective of a character of mine, who we'll call "Sam Prime". Now anything I post will be the real me.
Second, I'm not going to worry about creating new content. I didn't really do that much anyway. I'll still probably create some, but not a lot. That said, I'm probably going to go a while between posts a few times. If there's nothing worth posting about, I just won't post. Simple as that.
Third, Low-Rez Labs is changing. It used to be a meta-narrative device to tie everything I create together. Now it's just going to be my personal brand, with no hidden meaning. Simplicity is best.
There's going to be a lot of smaller changes, but these are the important ones. If I get enough people asking (which I doubt), I'll post the longer version of this I had written.
Here's hoping the new LRL thrives, with or without an audience.

Life update
Posted 8 years agoWow, that last journal is out-of-date. Let's fix that.
Well, for a start, I've updated Logan's refsheet. So you might be interested in that. Check my profile if you are. I've also been updating him in ways that don't relate to his physical appearance. We'll see if any of that becomes apparent (if it wasn't already from the refsheet).
I've also been busy with Labs stuff. I don't think any of it will be made public, but at least it keeps me busy. I'm also working on finding a new home (again) and I've been pushing a proper launch of my Twitch channel back until that's done. There have also been several changes in my personal life, but there's no way I'm posting that here.
That's about it. Pretty short post, but it'll do. I'd like to remind you once again that I'm much more active on Twitter, but I plan on posting any art I get made here as well. Until next time!

Low-Rez Labs website launch + Furlandia 2017 + more
Posted 8 years agoI know I've been inactive again, but this time I have a good reason. I've been working my ass off trying to get the website off the ground, and that finally paid off! As of now, the Low-Rez Labs website is now live! There isn't much content there yet, but I'll be doing what I can to add more. Don't expect a regular schedule, though. Life always gets in the way. That much is a given.
I'm also going to Furlandia 2017. This is my first time going to a furry convention so I'm incredibly anxious. I'm sure I'll have fun, though. If you see anyone wearing a completely unnecessary lab coat, that's probably me. Come say hi!
In other news, I realized I haven't given an update on Logan's redesign recently. That's mostly done, I'm just looking for someone to commission a refsheet from. I'm being kinda picky with this because the quality of all future art of him will depend on the quality of this refsheet. I'll be looking for some artists at Furlandia, but I've learned to expect that all roads will lead back to square one. I've also started rewriting his backstory, and I don't want to spoil anything until it's ready, so for now, I'll only say that I'll end up needing two refsheets after all, just not how I expected. Also, I'll be posting the backstory piecemeal both here and at the LRL website as I finish each section. Again, don't expect any sort of regular schedule. Life always gets in the way.
I think that'll do it for now. As always, you can follow my Twitter for more regular updates. I suspect FA will take a back seat again for a while. I'll keep living my life to its best, though, and I invite you to do the same with yours.

I called it.
Posted 8 years agoOk, so as a habit I always check my most recent posts to make sure I'm not repeating anything, and I found this from my last post:
I've got some life happening in the near future, so I may go dormant. Rest assured that even if I do I'll still come back.
Turns out I may have low-grade clairvoyance. It's not that I don't like being on this website, it's just that life always gets in the way. Anyway, I think it's time for a life update.
The biggest two things to happen since I posted last are that my household ended up moving (as I mentioned might happen), and something I'd rather not talk about here, at least for now. All I'll say is what I said on my Twitter when it happened:
@The1AndMany wrote:Life is a series of decisions.
Some are big, and some are small.
Some are easy, some difficult.
All have consequences.
Embrace that.
In other news, progress on Low-Rez Labs projects moves at a glacier's pace. LRL is still a very busy place, the problem is that getting a public-facing website isn't really a priority. On the other hand, I have started coding the website (from scratch) and I have about half of the amount of content I need to go live. I can't give any sort of estimate as to when the launch will happen because I'm usually the only one working on this, I'm mostly doing this in my spare time, and I have a life beyond LRL too. I'll post here with any big updates, but for the time being, get ready for more radio silence.
I also got that computer built. It was honestly pretty fun. I've posted the spec sheet on PCPartPicker, and it's handled anything I've thrown at it with ease. On a related note, I'm currently doing Tech Rehearsals to set up a regular Twitch.tv stream. The current (but not last) barrier before everything's ready is that I want to test things out for using Discord voice chat on stream, but anyone I know who would be able to help me test that out are perpetually busy. Logistics suck.
That about covers everything I've been up to. Just as a reminder, I post to my Twitter more often, but with smaller events. The big things may end up both there and here, but since I don't post here all that often, I highly recommend following me to get more frequent updates.
Until next time!

An assuredly non-political post
Posted 9 years agoWell, I'm keeping up with the submission inbox now. That's an improvement.
Anyway, I'm sure we all have our opinions on the recent election, but I won't be voicing mine here. I already glossed over it a little on my twitter, so I'm mostly over it now. This paragraph is all I'll be talking about it anywhere on this website. And this paragraph is now over.
Shifting gears, I've got some life happening in the near future, so I may go dormant. Rest assured that even if I do I'll still come back. In particular, my household is looking into moving. Right now we're shopping around for a new place. I have one I like, but even if we all decide to go with it there's no telling whether we'll get it. Things are very much in flux right now, so I probably won't post anything else on the subject until things become a little clearer.
In other news, I'm also saving up to buy a new computer. The one I have is a couple of years old and can play most games I want it to without a problem (as long as I lower all the graphics settings), but it's starting to show its age. I'll be building my next computer myself, and I've already got it (mostly) specced out. It'll cost roughly $1,200 for everything (not counting discounts, shipping, or mail-in rebates), and it'll have a pretty good balance of cost and power. It should be able to do anything I want it to (including recording Let's Play videos, live streaming, and video editing) for at least a couple years. I've also made sure it's very upgrade-friendly so I only have to buy one or two parts whenever it starts struggling, as opposed to a whole new computer. I've got everything planned out, from the parts I'll use to how I'll use them. Now I just have to save up. It's a good thing I have a day job!
I guess that's about all I have to say for now. Most of what I have to discuss I've already brought up on my twitter. I think I end up posting more in-the-moment stuff to twitter, then sit down every so often to write a post here about the broad strokes of what's going on in my life. Here's a link to my twitter profile, in case anyone cares that much. Sorry for not posting anything about Low-Rez Labs this time, but there's really not much going on there. These things develop slowly, it turns out. I'll keep you guys updated on anything that does happen, though. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some goofing off to do.

I should really be more active than this...
Posted 9 years agoAnyway, things are going well. I mean, aside from a brief quarter-life crisis a week ago. I am feeling better, though.
I'm also changing my mind about having two different ref sheets for the same character. I'm still reworking things, but I have a few ideas I could flesh out. This could go several different ways, but as of right now I don't think I was going about things the best way. As for Low-Rez Labs, I want to have a few works to show for it before I let any details slip. My first "batch" of content is in the works, but I don't have a solid release date or anything just yet. In the meantime, here's a quick teaser to keep your interest.
What follows are selections from a transcript of the new personnel orientation video. It's normally interactive, but I do have some non-interactive versions as a back-up, which is what this is from.
Hello, and welcome to Low-Rez Labs. My name is KAI, and I'm in charge of most of the day-to-day operations. Normally this orientation would be interactive, but unforeseen circumstances are forcing us to go - as they say - old-school. This video will cover some generalized basics, then your instructor will better prepare you for your specific role.
You will be spending most of your free time here in the Main Torus. Here we have several creature comforts such as fully immersive VRcades, interdimensional movie theaters, and even a rollercoaster that circumnavigates the Torus. If there's something you want that we don't have, we're always looking for ways to improve.
Again, this orientation isn't interactive, but we can go over the basic roles performed. Let's start at the beginning. I would receive an order, then delegate it to a department head. They would then determine the best course of action to achieve the desired outcome within the given parameters. Once I approve their plan, they then assign it to a supervisor, who chooses the best agent (or agents) to go out in the field and actually carry out the plan. The agents coordinate with their supervisor, who provides guidance throughout the operation. Upon successful completion, the agents are given 168 Lab hours (which are based on Earth time) to tie up loose ends, put their affairs in order, and request extraction. This time limit is more of a guide than a hard rule, though. Don't worry too hard about going over. Just make sure you request extraction as soon as possible if you do. After extraction, you'll be able to spend your time freely until you're needed again. Remember, you're always on call.
If you find yourself unable to make friends here, don't worry. Even our Lead Researcher has trouble putting himself out there. I may not be there at the moment, but I am always available if you need someone to talk to. If you're not comfortable talking with a computer, though, there are also events held periodically to boost morale. And again, we're always taking suggestions on how to improve. Have a niche interest? Try requesting an event! You never know how many people are just as weird as you.
Your instructor will now guide you through some hands-on training simulations to better ready you for your new position. Good luck, and, again, welcome to Low-Rez Labs.
And that's enough for now. Trust me, it sounds a lot better when KAI is actually responding live. I realize I haven't revealed much of the "research" side of things, but to be honest I'm not liberty to divulge any details like that yet. I have gotten clearance to reveal those details eventually, but not until this first batch of content is ready, which may take a while. I am working hard, though. It's just tough to juggle school, my day job, fun time, and this. When I have more to show, I'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
Until next time!

2 1/2 Years Later...
Posted 9 years agoYes, you read that right, the last time I really used this site was nearly 2 1/2 years ago. A lot has happened since then, and I promise I'll cover it all eventually, but here are some highlights:
First off, Logan Rez has undergone several revisions. I'm still in the process of redesigning his latest iteration, and once I get some money I'll be looking to commission at least two new reference sheets. Oh, yeah, he also has two alternate versions, with more on the way. The two that I've already developed are the "mirror" version, and the one I don't think I've posted about yet is him as an omnipotent kitsune. Quite a shift, right? I'm also developing other, non-primary fursonas, all of which will be tied in some way.
That brings me to my next big change: I've founded a research institute! It's called Low-Rez Labs, or LRL for short, and was named after Logan because I suck at naming things. I'll go into more detail in another post because there's a lot to discuss and things are still developing, but starting now any works of mine, including those I've already made, are tied to LRL in some way. Sometimes one of the characters works as a researcher, other times a character might be an undercover operative to nudge things in a certain direction, and other times it may be as simple as a character asking LRL for advice. Almost all cases will be discreet, to the point that you might not see the connections even if you're looking. Rest assured, though. They'll always be there.
Finally, a few personal changes. I think I've matured a lot since I last posted here. I've graduated high school (Class of 2015), and am currently starting in college, working to become a librarian. That sounds incredibly nerdy, but it's something I think I'd excel at. I'm also trying to get my first paid job, and at the time of writing, I might have a work-study position lined up. It's been a rough time, but I'm not done yet.
Anyway, I'm writing this post to let everyone know I'm still alive and will be trying to use this website again. I can't promise I'll succeed, but I'm hoping I'll get back into the groove. I'm mostly reviving this account to get rid of the overflowing folder of artist bookmarks I've amassed by watching everyone. According to my notifications, I was added to a poet list while I was gone, but I lost every watcher I gained due to never actually posting anything. Just as well, I think the poem was a one-time thing... As for creative posts, I'll try to post something every now and again, but I've found I tend to have trouble finishing any creative projects I start. I also am trying to set up a website for LRL, and when that's ready I'll probably be posting most of my creative work there instead. Also, I think I'll stick to just posting the furry stuff here because, let's face it, that's why we're all here. I'll still be most active on my twitter, just because I can reach that from my phone, but I'll try to post something here from time to time. For now, I'm going to rewrite my profile to show that this profile is semi-active again, then maybe get started on getting those bookmarks taken care of.
TL;DR, I've been gone, but now I'm back. Hopefully I'll stick around this time.

Twitter, Twitch, and Tails
Posted 11 years agoSo I haven't posted here in a while, so here's what's up:
I have joined Twitter, and I seem to be posting almost exclusively to that. That being said, I'll be a lot more active if you go follow me on there. (I'll still use this account, but not that much)
I'm trying to set up a livestream channel, but I'm having trouble setting it up. The channel is here, if you wanna check it out. I probably won't be using it for a while, but when I do start, I'll probably post here about it. Probably.
Tails is, in my opinion (which is likely biased), the best Sonic character. Thing is, because he has two tails, he's more similar to a kitsune rather than the fox that he's credited as. What do you think?
That's about it. Now, then... Where's that e621 bookmark?

Even more free art... Sort of...
Posted 12 years agoI've done a good amount of these... Maybe I should stop being so frugal... (Like that'll ever happen)
Anyway, here's his contest. If you wanna be in a fucking video game, go check it out: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5014356/
PS, just re-read that, and no, it's not a porn/yiff simulator. ;)

I'm Back!
Posted 12 years agoAfter 2 weeks of fucking around in California, I'm finally back! I didn't have a regular connection for a while, so I've got a few things to catch up on. That being said, I have a lot of submissions to sort through from my watches. (940 as of this writing!)
Somewhat unrelated note, I tried out DC Universe Online, and the first thing I noticed that was awesome about it (aside from fighting alongside superheros, which is kind of a given) is that the character builder has anthros. That's right! I immediately set up a representation of my 'sona to play as, and I'd say it turned out pretty well! I forgot to take some screenies, though, but I'll try to get some later. My character's name is "Ferocious Furry", so if you see me, why not help me out? I'm still new at this after all... (Side note, I realized too late that I could have named my character "Fur-ocious Furry", but in hindsight, that'd just be pushing it...)
Almost related note, I also got Animal Crossing: New Leaf a couple days ago! I am now the mayor of Duckburg, and am already building a better town. (Does anyone know of a way to make your character an animal? I found a bear hat, but I'm thinking of looking more like the NPC villagers themselves.)
Well, that's about it. I'd better start catching up before school starts and takes up most of my time. Keep on rocking!

Going out with a bang!
Posted 12 years agoI'm currently in a hotel, on my way to California. The wifi is spottier than a dalmation, and there's no guaruntee that this will even upload once I'm done typing it. (Thank goodness for copy/paste!) I figured I'd visit family and hit the Santa Cruz boardwalk, so that I can end my summer vacation on a high note. Any places I should visit while in the golden state?
More free art!
Posted 12 years agoThere's more art raffles going on, this time from
Lexipup and the say the best things in life are free, so you know, what the hell. (Except internet connectivity, that's the best thing ever and it costs money, so... yeah)

Good luck to everyone who enters!

Boredom vent
Posted 12 years agoI broke my only set of headphones yesterday, and I'm in a public place, which means I can't watch YouTube right now. I still need something to procrastinate with keep me from just sitting around, so I thought I'd go through some more of the bookmarks I still need to sort. I'm in between bookmarks right now, so I figured I'd post a journal of whatever the hell I feel like.
I'm almost done with summer school at my local community college. After today, I've only got three class periods left, landing my final period on the 15th. I plan on visiting Santa Cruz after it's over, so if you have any suggestions on where to go (other than the boardwalk, I'm already planning on that), let me know what's awesome and what to stay away from.
Dr. Pepper is awesome!
AdBlockPlus is useful, but they need a filter that lets ads through for YouTube videos made by whitelisted channels.
Accidentally Awesome! (I don't know what I'll use that for, but it sounds cool)
Why does technology move so fast? I got a Nexus 7 tablet in February, but now they released a new version less than half a year later! (Don't get me wrong, though, the one I have is still awesome!)
I should probably upload my icon to my submissions gallery on here. (Not my art, I got it from
Rikkoshaye on reddit)
I'm gonna keep sorting now. See you whenever!

I GOT SIDEBARRED!!!
Posted 12 years agoFor those of you who have no fucking clue what I just said, I'll try to explain briefly.
Reddit just added a new feature called multireddits, which is basically one page to browse certain subreddits at once. (Unrelated note: I think reddit gold members got a beta) I decided to test this out by creating one specifically for some of the bigger furry subreddits, and posted a link to /r/furry. (multireddit link) I just checked my messages before going to bed, and lo and behold, I somehow managed to end up getting put on the sidebar! (Proof)
I'm still in shock, but this definetly calls for some celebration! I never expected that about one year after properly joining the fandom, I'd get such a big shout out! If this isn't positive reenforcement, I don't know what is, so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks to /r/furry mod mckatze for putting me on the sidebar, and thanks to everyone at /r/furry for becoming my biggest source of karma! Let's hope I can keep it up!
SQUEE!

Draw Something
Posted 12 years agoI've been getting back into Draw Something, and I'm getting pretty good. I mean, I'm still extremely crappy, but if you wanna give me some practice, you can find me on both Draw Something 1 & 2 under the username gameon5678. (my usual username, gameon123, was already taken) My current highest streak is 40 and counting!
Also, does anyone know how to change the profile image to a custom photo that hasn't been drawn in-game? I have an icon I had drawn and I don't know how to upload it.

Introduction time!
Posted 12 years agoWell, I finally signed up a couple weeks ago, so I figured I'd start contributing. First things first: Introductions.
I'm just a regular dude, living in Eugene, Oregon, trying to get by. I'm currently going to school, and probably will be for the next few years. My hobbies include video games, music, and mostly just fucking around in general. I'm not very good at art, so don't expect anything original on my page. I do dabble in writing, though, so I might be able to throw something together.
I have a fursona, albeit a very basic one. I've put his reference sheet on Imgur, and I might get around to posting it here. He is a male fox, and his personality is pretty much the same as mine, but other than that, I haven't figured much out. I haven't even given him a name!
I do have a very small amount of art I've had done, but it's all free give-away art. It's still pretty good, though, so I might put it on here at some point.
As I've said on my profile itself, I'm currently going through my bookmarks and trying to sort out which ones are decent enough for me to watch. I have pretty low expectations, though, so expect large amounts of watches in the near future. I started with a shit-ton, though, so this may take a while...
I guess that's all of the most important stuff, so I should probably wrap this up. Here's to an awesome fandom, which I've only scratched the surface of so far. See you next time!
TL;DR, I introduce myself with a short bio, a fursona refsheet, a mention of some art I've had done, and explaining that I'm on a watch-spree to catch up with my bookmarks.
