Is my art artifacty to y'all?
Posted 8 years agoI'm in a very different location than usual, on my laptop. I just noticed artifacts in my art. Is everyone else seeing it too? I always though 70% quality for exports were fine, but some stuff it's really bad with. :(
I don't mind re-uploading higher quality versions.

Fursuit makers! I has questions.
Posted 8 years agoHey everybody!
I'll keep it short, and I'm looking at what is and isn't possible on fursuits and trying to design what I want out of one as I save up. But.
1. Is it possible to have...uh, beard scruff? Like, patchy mustache basically? That's darker than the rest of the fake fur? I imagine you'd just leave some parts longer than others and then dye them, but I dunno.
2. Are feet paws super flat, and is the interior open and roomy or like a shoe? I was thinking I'd need gel inserts.
3. How do moving jaws work mechanically? Chin strap or something? I'm not sold on having one but I can't figure out how that works. D:
That's all for now. I'll be saving up for one over half the year. :o

How to Fix FA's Ad Debacle
Posted 10 years ago1. Download and use an ad-blocker. Most will allow you to target specific ads and be targeted to just IMVU.
2. http://boothale.net/scripts/facleanup.html
Use this for your browser, it will force the sidebar down to the comments section. Down in to the garbage where it belongs! WHERE IT BELONGS.
Unless you use Internet Explorer, in which case I'm sorry. I'm just very, very sorry.
3. Safely browse FA, for now...
4. If you're like me, bitch and moan to friends about how it breaks your other scripts and things to download in one click artist's works to a folder.
Credit goes to

FA now owned by IMVU - Useful Info [I'm not leaving]
Posted 10 years agoWow, the drama on the 'Neer journal on the IMVU buyout of FA... Some important bits I've read amongst the...junk...
• FA is a Limited Liability Company, which means they definitely had a contract over what IMVU can and cannot do in regards to FA.
• IMVU will not be banning adult content any time soon (or ever most likely)
https://twitter.com/Garek_Maxwell/s.....77977312980992
• Due to how negotiations work, they had to remain silent on it until the contract was signed, just like when Minecraft was sold to Microsoft.
• It's still unclear what IMVU is getting out of the deal other than ads. They cannot redistribute your content but can use it to advertise. The only thing that's an issue is advertising / making money off your work. (Redistribution happens without IMVU by random people if you're good enough.)
• The site isn't likely to change much, except over a long period of time just like it always has. This is nothing new (see my timeline).
So if you have concerns over your work being used in selling services and/or products, you may be better off deleting your work from the site and moving to another. However, if this does not matter to you, then there's few (any?) reasons to be concerned over the site (other than for issues I cannot find information for, so I don't feel is appropriate including). It may potentially be beneficial, if only in the money and logistics to get updates and changes out that are long overdue. But that's only a possibility, the FA staff seems to remain unchanged (which may be a concern for some people anyway).
NO OVERREACTING DRAMA, I WILL HIDE THAT SHIT.

Posted 11 years agoCan't Identify this 80s French Song
Posted 12 years agoI really really hate to ask watchers for help, but I cannot identify this song I heard on this video:
http://youtu.be/RvCTSifsWDQ?t=12m36s
(Don't judge! I have this stuff going while I do other things in real life. )
I spent probably half the night looking for it on the site it came from, but I don't know french so it's rather difficult!
http://www.hotmixradio.fr/80s
I'm assuming it's french since I recognized words like chateau, but then I think I hear noche and that's spanish and it throws everything off. :(
Any help is super appreciated! Even transcribing some lyrics would be helpful since I cannot spell most french words either. Google can only take me so far. :P
Edit: C-Rex found it! Also not french according to Google, it's italian. Oops!

Download FA Galleries Whole + Easy Individual Download
Posted 13 years agoTwo FireFox add-ons that can make a huge difference in saving work from artists. First, the easy one to install.
FurAffinity Extender
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi.....nity-extender/
Download single gallery/scrap images instantly to artist named folders automatically in one click. A download button that will appear near the file name above the image. (The old download button works as before.)
The next method requires two add-ons, GreaseMonkey and DownloadThemAll.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi.....ll/?src=search
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi.....atform=windows
Download them all downloads files directly from links or files displayed on screen.
Grease monkey uses JavaScript for your own benefit. For example, one script helps download Google book pages.
Steps! (Note this likely isn't the best method, but it's how I got it working and I'm tired. :P )
1. Once GreaseMonkey's installed go to Tools > Greasemonkey > New User Script
2. Insert the following information
Name:
FA Gallery Conglomerator
Namespace:
www.furaffinity.net
Description:
Gathers every submission in a FurAffinity gallery and displays them as a list of links in a new window. Also works on scraps.
Includes:
http*://*.furaffinity.net/gallery/*
http*://*.furaffinity.net/scraps/*
Then click Okay.
3. Now locate your GreaseMonkey folder, which is in your Mozilla folder and that's...well, it depends on your computer! I can't offer every example, but here's a list copied from the below link.
http://answers.oreilly.com/topic/42.....y-user-script/
Single-user Windows 95/98/ME
C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Multiuser Windows 95/98/ME
C:\Windows\Profiles\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Windows NT 4.x
C:\Winnt\Profiles\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Windows 2000 and XP
C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox
Unix and Linux
~/.mozilla/firefox
Mac OS X
~/Library/Application Support/Firefox
I had to go through several folders from there to get to a folder called gm_scripts and then FA_Gallery_Conglomerator.
4. Open FA_Gallery_Conglomerator.user.js in a text editor...I think. I use Notepad++, which is designed for coding and junk.
5. You can either copy/paste over everything here or just replace everything below the last line:
// ==/UserScript==
Copy script copied over from the following link and paste it in to the file:
http://pastebin.com/nawM2HfL
6. Save it, close it. You're finished with the hard part.
7. Go to someone's gallery or scraps and click the conglomerate button.
8. After it loads, you'll probably notice a lot of plain text links. That's okay! Download Them All still works! Select all the text, right click (or whatever the equivalent is for your system) and select Download Them All.
You can now sort it however you like and put in whatever folder you like. Just be sure to have all the links you want check marked. Then just download away!
=====================================================================
As far as load on FA is concerned, I figure despite the short term surge in bandwidth usage the long term bandwidth savings is better. It also cuts down on loading -everything- from a page over and over. You're just loading and downloading from the source rather than the entire page every time. Since a single gallery image can have hundreds of comments from unique users with unique images, the load of HTML, images, and more that is requested far outweighs the smaller more efficient use of this script. Plus, you can "under clock" download them all to not use all your bandwidth downloading things. I often do that so I can view YouTube clips at the same time.
...
Also, I needed to get rid of the old journal message of the long expired news. Also needed to indicate I'm still kicking, I just haven't made much I felt was complete enough to post just yet...just yet anyway! I got stuff a' comin'!
I got a partial tutorial from a Bara Board. Dunno who did it, but thanks a ton!

Free DAZ3D - 3D Development Software (THIS FEBRUARY ONLY)
Posted 13 years ago$800+ worth of 3D development software is completely and utterly free for february. No Strings, no nothing (except may be a news letter, but come on!).
As copied from hellboy's journal (I was informed from someone else's too):
"Daz Studio 4 Professional normally $429.95 dollars FREE
Bryce 7 Professional (Scenes/Atmospheres/Landscapes) normally $249.95 dollars FREE
Hexagon 2.5 (Modeling Software) normally $149.95 dollars FREE"

Link to DAZ 3D site:
http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d/free-3d-s.....tware-overview
Sorry to spam it too, but I think this needs spreading!
I always wanted to experiment with 3D stuff and my only real chance at it was in school with vectorworks, made for architects and interior designers. :\ Not really what I hoped, but useable all the same... But this is an amazing offer to get a foot in to 3D artistry stuff. So GO! Geeet eeeeet! NAO! >:O

California's Prop 14 & 8 (Politics!) (Personal Update Too)
Posted 14 years agoOriginally I wasn't going to post this little fact, but I changed my mind recently. I think it's too similar and important to mention.
California's prop 14 in 1963 put civil rights up for vote. California has had a history of this apparently, when compared with Prop 8.
Just looking at the wiki article, you can see a similar turn of events.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Califo....._14_%281963%29
Given California has a history of putting civil rights up for popular vote, it's a shame this event wasn't used in commercials asking Californians to not repeat the same mistakes of the past.
Here's hoping in the future there will be federal recognition for same-sex marriage so that the 1,000+ rights, benefits, privileges, and responsibilities can be afforded to everyone. State-only marriage, as far as I am aware, only include a fraction of the total the federally recognized version would entail.
[WARNING CONTROVERSIAL OPINION] This matters because in effect this creates a caste system in the US... Guess it doesn't matter when the "nobility" is the majority. Regardless, it's heartless and cruel to deny others basic things like hospital visitation and the legal protections to just name two of the many things missing... [/WARNING]
Anyway, aside from that, I've just been so dang busy or worn out that I haven't had the time to do anything really. Just barely sketch and stuff.
Sorry everyone. I'm going to write up a bigger update sometime on my plans for my flash project are since I don't have a lot of time for it. It's still being worked on, but more on the concept than the actual construction. :(
...That's about it probably. I may finish up a sketch or two and post it here since I got very little to show for all this time. Just too busy now.

(Unimportant) Flash Status + Other Projects
Posted 14 years agoI figured I should get rid of the old outdated journal update.
--Flash Game--
Nothing new on the graphics front, but I've done a lot of coding. I believe nearly all the needed parts are finished, and all I need to do is expand them. What I did was write up the code to work with dummy graphics with very basic effects to demonstrate they work. I don't want to reveal too much though, so I'll say there is some more polish to what's going on behind the scenes that only really effects me. :P
I mostly just need to convert certain things over to the new system (parts were rushed) and created/change things over for the next update. ...which won't be finished for a while
Worse, I'm graduating soon, so I'll be looking for a job...which could turn out great! Or bad... Unfortunately, real life will heavily impact how soon the project is updated. :(
--ID Comic--
I feel bad with the lack of updates on it, but I'm a bit stuck on creating interesting scenes. Worse, I can't decide how to continue the middle part of the story...I'll have something eventually, sorry. :( It will be finished, it's just me being my usual slow self.
--Future Projects--
AquaFurFan pointed me to some interesting text-based games, particular Xadera's work. Once I get things rolling on the graphical flash, I may see about testing those waters out... It'd just be added to the rotating list of projects I have. :P
The unique part about the text-game project would be that I would open it up to writers out there, sorta. It's too early to say much, since I may only focus on the one flash game I currently have, but if I went through with it I'd be interested in collaborating with others.
I figure writers would be cited, but their writing would have to pass the test of me. :P Oh, and writing for different situations. For example, if they wrote up a scenario where the character meets someone, they'd have to write up dialogue trees with different reactions based on the player's (simple) input. In turn, they'd need to be okay with some language changes based on player stats. Weak characters can't do certain things, while the player species changes what words will show up. "He smacked the " + [SPECIES] + " upside the head."
Anyway, I think that's about it.
Thanks for the continued interest and support everyone! <3

(Not Important) Really Busy, Flash Game Status Update
Posted 15 years agoI just thought I'd let people know that I'm not likely to have a lot of free time in the coming months to create much. It's not something I planned out, but thanks to college and some potential opportunities I don't think I'll have the kind of free time I used to have. It may not be a problem, but as it stands now it isn't looking great.
As a mini update on the flash game project (because I'm sure there's some people out there interested in it), it's still yet to go anywhere really. Yeah, sorry guys (and maybe some gals? In betweens?), but I'll go ahead and outline a short list of why it's yet to go anywhere:
1. Just switching to Actionscript 3.0 means having to rewrite all the code for everything. It's not a fun task. Also, because I had a lot of trouble just getting the code to work in 2.0, I'm not confident in my abilities to get it done quickly.
2. That said, I'm toying with the idea of shifting it away from the old game mechanics. They were interesting, but it didn't fit the concept. I think a combination adventure/"dating sim" style of mechanics would be more successful. It doesn't involve as much distraction as moving around would, and it could all be done with one hand. ... Hey, I gotta take these things into consideration! Anyway, I may not drop the old game mechanics entirely, but they will probably be adapted to something else.
3. You might be thinking "Oh great, something done from scratch, it'll never finish". Actually, I already know how most of it would look or what I'd need to code it, so it wouldn't take very long. I pretty much scripted most of it before in a school project. It would actually go faster than the other method, especially since it's easier.
4. Unlike the demo, I plan to have this one properly optimized. This means smaller file size, faster fps/better performance, and possibly not as messy code. The last one's more for me, but the better performance will be a big help to viewers.
Unfortunately, the only thing I don't have for this project is time. Sorry to everyone wanting more already, but at least you all know why it's taking so long.

Brand New 80s Music!
Posted 15 years agoA new submission calls for a new journal entry.

Brand new 80s music here! Just click on one of the funky numbers after "mp3" under each song to download.
(Home page is: http://freeplaymusic.com/index.php )
I personally really like "Run for your Love", but the others are good too!
Also, this isn't contradictory either since no one is willing to give this style of music an appropriate label. >:(
So new 80s is the default for now until someone tells me the right label. xP
Before anyone asks!
This is perfectly legal to download and listen to. This music is basically public domain, though there's a terms of use thing which I barely read that could probably be summed up as "this is free unless you're a business".
I stumbled upon this website while trying to find free music I could use for my amulet flash project. The music here is actually pretty good to listen to. It even comes in convenient categories like Business and Finance.

Sacred Amulet UPDATED (Already!)
Posted 15 years agoChanges for 1.2 are as follows
- WASD for movement
- Fixed Title to be correct in French
- Bigger sight cone. Also brighter and easier to see with.
- The additional game mechanic of a light indicator for when something will happen if you press space. (Lil' buggy. For some reason it won't always turn off when you leave that "hot spot". Just spin around and move in and out of that spot until it goes off. [Also, Aside from the linear entrances, only ONE place actually doesn't take you somewhere. So if you can find it, hurray! It's not that interesting...so don't bother really.])
- Skip buttons to go straight to the porn. (I don't know why I didn't add these in earlier...) That's the only porn scenes in the entire flash.
- Maybe something else I forgot. Macromedia Flash crashed on me mid changes so I had to redo some things.
ENJOY!

I'm not dead yet. - Mini Update (Unimportant)
Posted 16 years agoI've been rather lazy and busy. I had a good chunk of time to do stuff over winter break but I didn't do much more than sketch and try and work in flash. I didn't really have anything finished and in some cases I kept scrapping things that just were not working. Mostly, I just didn't do anything though.
Also, been workin' on a furry game thing since the winter break. It may never be finished or posted due to many complications experienced. Here's a quick rundown of what's happened:
1. When I started I worked on scripting first because that's the hardest part. Managed to get the script working for a good chunk of the game until I started adding things. That's when stuff fell apart.
2. I tried different approaches to the same thing, even simplifying the code but then I found I didn't like the results. I also discovered that putting a ton of tiny little details that you can barely see (or can't see at all most of the time) is bad and lags things out. So I chucked out a lot of details to make it run smoother and uglier.
3. Finding more problems and then questioning the logic of certain fundamental "story" and game play elements, I got really discouraged and stopped working on it. Progress since has been slow. However, I did discover a work around on detail problems. The computer doesn't have to render a bunch of math if it's just a picture, so I saved complex graphics as images instead of having them be vectors. It made things look good (for me, this is less than craptacular but still crappy) and it didn't lag out the game. (Consequently, fullscreening the game seems to lag it out either way and the graphics can look fuzzy from resizing. This can be overcome with larger graphics shrunk down in flash but it means the file sizes are larger.)
4. At the moment, I'm almost at square one. I'm trying to decide between a platformer or a top-down perspective style game. I've been working on platformer graphics though, so that may be then end choice. Scripting shouldn't be a big problem. Free script sites explain it pretty well and most of the things I'd add are simplistic anyway.
Finally, this may never get finished or anything, but I thought people may want to know why I haven't done anything in so long. Games are hard and it's harder when ya' suck at it. :( Oh well.
...Oh, and I still haven't decided on whether or not it'd be adult or clean. May do both as originally intended. It's not that hard to switch between the two.
So yes, I'm not dead, just busy and very lazy...more busy since classes started again.

(Not Important) Favoriting Mega Reply and an Avatar Change
Posted 16 years agoFirst, I want to thank all of you who favorite my work and those who will favorite my work. As I usually say, I appreciate it. However, I cannot keep up with all the favorites that come in. I hate to complain about it, but there's just too many. It's confusing and jumbled sometimes, where I may end up thanking someone more than once without realizing it. I have tried to keep up with it, and my copy/paste responses have helped at the expense of personalizing my comments and replies in thanks.
I will continue to thank those who watch me (unless I somehow get 100 every day. D: ). I will also sometimes thank some people who favorite my stuff whom I recognize...which is a hit-and-miss thing for me since there's long lists of people. This doesn't mean I don't care about each and every one of the favorites, I just can't keep up with them anymore.
Thank you all for showing you like my work even though I think it's terrible. :P
I also have a new avatar to replace the old Barbie Liberation Front avatar. ...I didn't feel like posting a new submission over it, since it's kinda crappy in ways. I just liked the way it looked though so I wanted to show detail compared to the teeny tiny icon I have now.

This is a larger version of the tiny avatar image. I tried to give it some old paper looks to it. It's mostly just a sketch of mine.

An Important Announcement to all of those who can see this.
Posted 17 years agoDear Fur Affinity,
I have an important announcement to make to you all. It wasn't until recently that I was informed of an underground movement that I knew I needed to be a part of. This organization is dedicated to something dear to all of us. The BLO, or Barbie Liberation Organization (sometimes Front instead, making it the BLF), is dedicated to the liberation of Barbie from the confines of gender stereotypes. I have become part of the organization with my snazzy avatar image. We of the BLO won't rest until Barbie can kill with more than just those stylish pumps, and GI Joe can finally accessorize his outfit for a night out on the town, little black boot style.
Oh yes, we will liberate them from the chains of oppression!
Barbies of the world, take on the military!
Joe's of the world, go shopping!
We can do this!
We can make a difference!
This is Garek Maxwell, and I hope you'll join me and BLO.

Star Fox is Fascist! - The Truth Revealed.
Posted 17 years ago(Finally, a way to get this onto FA without violating the "by you, for you" clause.)
Picture proof? Sneak preview of the next Star Fox game? You be the judge. (Click this for pretty picture.)
I think we all saw this coming. Under constant attack, it was only a matter of time before Corneria would stand up and fight against those who would stand in it's way to galactic peace. Being attacked constantly would have surely put the populace in fear of everyone, giving rise to those who would end any threat across the entire galaxy. But just how much has this view already permeated into the Star Fox team? Could Star Fox be fascist? I give you the following quotes for you to judge for yourself.
Fox McCloud - (Racist/Specist comments from Fox.)
"All right! This time we take that ape down!"
"Blasted bugs! Die already!"
Falco Lombardi - (The following quotes are obviously about genocide. Falco's specialty?)
"Smash anyone and anything that get in your way!"
"You're doing great, Fox! Destroy the rest of 'em!"
"This is ridiculous! Fox, take care of that stupid frog, will you?"
"Hah! You think you've found a safe place to run to? You think we're gonna give up and go away? Don't mess with us, Pigma!"
"Shut your trap, Lizard, or you and I are gonna scrap!"
Slippy Toad - (Slippy wants everyone to suffer.)
"No Mercy!"
Krystal - (Possible missing torture scenes from previous games would explain the following quotes.)
"All right! Hit 'em hard and don't hold back!"
"Aim for the palms of his hands, Fox!"
Peppy Hare - (Peppy seems to be explaining to Fox the joys of assassination.)
"You can use a sniper rifle to pick off foes at a distance."
Clearly the Star Fox team has succumb to the temptation of obliterating all that stand in the way of the glorious Cornerian Empire in order to enforce peace within the Lylat System. This is just a tip of the ice berg, as time and time again the team is seen killing thousands in the name of peace, even being rewarded for such efforts! Will the carnage end? Or is this just the beginning of the People's Republic of Corneria (PRC)?
Discuss.

Thanksgiving Controversy - Many Furries Outraged.
Posted 18 years ago(I figured I might as well share some of my fun here on FA too.)
Avian furries rallying against what is being called a PR stunt by the Bush Administration.
Today, president Bush pardoned two turkeys in what is being criticized as a move to appeal to avian furries but ignores the heart of the problem. Thousands of birds are slaughtered during Thanksgiving, which avian furs say is something the Bush Administration has failed to address. They say that the Bush Administration has "refused to comment on the mass genocide against our feathered brethren" and that "this PR stunt doesn’t change the suffering our brethren endure."
This isn’t the only controversy the Bush Administration has had with avian furs. In 2006, Vice President Cheney went on a hunting trip to shoot quail. However, the event came to a quick end when VP Cheney made a fellow hunter apologize for being in the way of his bullets. Avian furries hailed this as a warning against those who would harm their fellow feathered friends. Cheney was unavailable for comment on the statements made by avian furs.
The two turkeys were nicknamed Flyer and Fryer, and will reportedly be honored guests in Disneyland’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Some avian furs have said that this is "a start, but more birds should be pardoned." One avian furry went as far to demand that a national ban on all bird meats be brought into law. Others threatened to spread the flu this season if this massacre doesn’t stop.
On a lighter note, the pardoned turkeys will spend the rest of their lives at Kidwell Farm’s Frying Pan Park. It is unknown what the average life span of a turkey that lives there is, but many reporters say that the farm’s turkey breast sandwiches are the freshest and tastiest they’ve ever had!
(Note: Some of this information came from MSN and CNN. It's a mish-mash between the two.)
