So yeah, I am spending more and more time exposing myself - no wait, that's not right - gaining exposure (yeah, that's the ticket) to people through my work filming educational and informative Let's Plays of things like Hearthstone or Civ 5, which I stream on Twitch.TV and also post to YouTube....or I will, once I am done editing them. Streams are messy.

I also have a blog, which I use to be educational and informative about a topic I have over fifteen years of experience in - trading card games. Not only in deck building and local hobby shop play, but actual structured tournaments, and even championships like the Yu-Gi-Oh! Nationals in Anaheim, California. I am using my experience and keen strategic mind to help others become competitive. I feel like I am helping others, which fills up my slacktivist quota.

I am so, so sorry.

Did Dwarves actually exist? Were there actually a race of Dwarves in real life? As in, were there really an entire race of bearded men that lived in the mountains and had incredible mining and blacksmithing skills? Because if there were, I have a strong feeling that I come from their blood.

Think about it. I'm incredibly resilient to the cold, I can grow an epic beard, I have deep Scottish and English roots, and I somehow have an innate knowledge of metallurgy. I knew the melting point of iron before I learned what it was used for other than cookware.

If there truly was a race of Dwarves in the world, I like to think that they were the ancestors of the Vikings, or maybe today's Scotsmen.

Either way, here's to me carrying on a proud Dwarven heritage, real or fictional!

So I noticed recently that I am an introvert. I don't reach out to anyone who isn't playing an MMO with me, I don't go outside and talk to anyone, and I attach myself to my computer for most of my waking moments. I am withdrawing, and I know this.

I need to figure out what to do about it. I'd talk to more people, but I don't like interrupting people when they're busy online. Nobody IRL lives nearby, so I don't see people in the flesh that often. I need to do something to contact people and find mutual interests.

I play a lot of Stronghold Kingdoms, because I am an officer on World USA 1. I talk to a lot of people on there, because they need my help. I am social there, because i'm a coordinator, secretary, and negotiator. If I can be social there, why can't I do so offline, as well?

I'm not whiny or depressed or anything, i'm just curious as to how it came to this. Very weird.

I check this site every goddamned day, but I never say or post anything.

Since i'm writing for Reddit's NoSleep subreddit as of recently, i've decided to post some of these things here. More will come as I write them. They can be considered furry if you want, just imagine the species in your head as you read them. I'll write more furry-related content once I get inspired enough.

So, i've seen a lot of furs who do streaming art online, who videotape their drawing of a picture or a painting or some such work, and people hop on to watch this, and see them draw.

Can someone please explain to me how this is at all fun to watch? Isn't it better to wait for the finished product and consume that as a work of art?

There are only two reasons I can think of for watching someone draw:

1. You are attempting to learn how they draw, and how they do things, so that you can learn yourself, and incorporate that style into your own art. This would be where watching someone draw would be helpful on a professional level.

2. You actively enjoy watching people draw. Some people are like this, and will spend hours pouring over an artist's shoulder (or webcam, as the case may be) and watch them draw for the heck of it. Not my cup of tea, but okay.

In short, I don't PERSONALLY see the point in watching an art stream, but that doesn't mean others don't enjoy it. Do what you love, I suppose.

It's an all right change, I suppose, and once I get used to the navigation, i'm certain it will work with much more contemporary style. Until then, though, I need to figure out how to handle my toolbar problem.
