I have been champing at the bit to get back into using a tablet. I had a Wacom Intuos 2 for 17 years, but by Windows 10 it had become obsolete. I decided it was time for a new one, so I set up a ko-fi hoping to raise a little extra money for one. Then I said ‘fuck it’ and ordered a UGEE M708 from Amazon. I got it last night and set it up. I realized two things:
my wrist/hand aches after a few hours of use
I’m going to need a LOT of practice. I will need to keep tweaking the inking brushes I create in PS and Illustrator. I’ll be watching more YouTube videos too.

It felt daunting last night, like I have slid back so far and have a hell of a journey to improvement. But journeys need a first step, so here I go.

As for the ko-fi, I set a goal for the tablet, and could use the money still. I also set up a Picarto and am considering sharing my journey with others. Let me know if ya’ll are interested.

Thanks for the suggestions and support last night. It means a lot to me. I was kinda hating my art for a bit, but I got through it. My own worst critic and all that. Feeling better today.

I’m working up the motivation to return to the gym. The pain church beckons. I created a Ko-Fi account so I could busk on the internet. If you can spare a few bucks to help me get a new graphics tablet, I'd appreciate it. I'm kinda nervous about using it to get tips for drawing NSFW work stuff. If anyone has advice about how to make use of this service without getting in trouble, I would appreciate it. I see folks Kofi or Patreon, and I'd like to know how folks pull it off.

Okay so I've been back for about a week, and actually feeling rather creative AND productive!
I've been posting here and Twitter, and started finally using my Instagram for the less intense art. I'm getting that gross feeling you get when you post art and very little to no one comments, likes or shares what I do. For those that do, you rock! Otherwise I am trying to not let that get to me. I should just focus on creating what I enjoy.
I would like to do more color stuff, but I think I am going to need a new art tablet. Mine is like... 18 years old! It's crapping out. Guess I will start pricing them.

I've also managed to touch base with a few furs that I used to talk to, and that feels good, too. I'm working on being less of a hermit. I'm interested in continuing to reconnect, so if we haven't chatted in a while feel free to drop me a line. Same goes for those I haven't met yet.

Since I am more active again, I decided to sweep out the cobwebs and arrange things a bit. I updated my user page, opening up more about me in the info. I created some folders and did a little sorting. I also removed some social links I don't use anymore. I'm considering the idea of creating a Discord account to chat more, and I do have a Telegram but I'm just lost on that.

I'm also curious about doing the shinies thing or ko.fi just so I have a tip jar, but I'm apprehensive that kofi and paypal shut folks down over adult stuff. I dunno. We'll see.

I found some more old art, and got my scanner working again. So I’ll be uploading some of it. I may rework some old pieces and upload them as well. A couple of these may have been up before on sites that are now dead or that I don’t use anymore. A couple pieces go back as far as ‘97, proving that I’ve been at this pervy stuff for quite a while! I hope the multiple uploads please more than annoy.

Well, feeling some good energy so far. It’s good to be drawing sexy things again. Not sure if it’s gonna stick, we’ll just take it as it comes. I might be sketching a lot cuz I do feel rusty and I want to work on my style more.

I do art that isn’t porn obviously, and I have been staying busy on that front. I actually have some stuff up on a couple direct-to-garment sites for sale if anyone is interested and would like to support what I do. Maybe I’ll start sharing that info.

I miss this part of my life. Sucks being disconnected from it.
I feel weird about trying to make new friends or keep up with old ones.
I'm still creating, I have a graphic design job that I like. I still think about drawing adult art from time to time.

I just logged on for the first time in a couple years. I am doing okay. I've been thinking about the whole furry fandom thing and how I used to be pretty into it, doing commissions, exploring my self through a persona, having some interesting and cool people I was social with online. I kind of miss chatting and looking at the art.

I always wanted to be more involved, hang out with local people in the fandom, go to more cons, but I always found myself on the fringe. I'd go to local meets and events and feel like I did at parties when i was younger. The anxiety would kick in, and I feel I didn't really belong, didn't know how to just break the ice and get to know people more, and I'd eventually just slip out unnoticed. Yet here I am again, kind of wanting to try again.

I kind of shut down when it came to art. Various reasons kept me from drawing, especially furry art. I find myself wanting to start drawing again but I'm not sure. I hate that my fears keep me from doing what I enjoy. I guess I need to work on that.

I know I was always drawing erotic/fetish art, and my interaction/RP was always with that theme in mind, so I always wondered if that's why It's been hard to be social. Not everybody is into this fandom for the sexy stuff. I guess it was easier to be the adventurous and amorous/flirtatious tiger dude from behind the keyboard... and maybe that's all there was to my fursona, which I kind of kept separate from the rest of me, so maybe that's why I had trouble relating to others in the fandom. Maybe I can ease back into lurking on here and interacting, maybe let more of me show than just my kinks.

Well, it seems I'm using my journal to get all introspective while trying to just check in. I hope you all are doing well. Maybe you will see more of me here, maybe on social media. We'll see.

It's been a while. I miss this place. It's been a while since I've done anything. Having an injured hip and back hasn't helped.

I also miss the friends I made, the community that I continued to awkwardly attempt to be a part of. I haven't been great at it. I'm thinking about trying again.

Yes, I still owe a couple of commissions. I constantly think about getting back to them. When I can sit long enough to do any real drawing, I will get back to them.

Creating a fursona and roleplaying online helped me discover who I am in so many ways. These days, it's less a persona, and more of an aesthetic avatar that represents the real me. I am no longer a sassy subby bitch with fae blood who dabbles in dark magic, but I still think the bearish switch white tiger persona with which I try to represent myself is part of my identity.

I need to get back to working on stuff. Sorry, everyone. :(

I am finding myself in the land if cube things again. I am looking for an SMP server to join, preferrably a regularly managed one with friendly players. I like starting with my bare hands and building creative things, and would like to do this with others who are still into the game. Just let me now if you have a server or know of a good one.

Well, with the announcement that Elliot's Spring Gathering being moved to Las Vegas, I found myself a bit upset that we don't have a local furry con anymore, but then I saw that Megaplex is in Kissimmee this July. It's a week before Anime Festival Orlando, which I am rather involved with, but I think I can make time for both. I just emailed them to see if I might be able to DJ for their dance, if they have one.

At any rate they have my support as a local furry convention.

I am working on plans to go to AnthroCon this year, and I am most likely going to need to get back on the commission horse to fund the trip. It will most likely be sketch commissions for $15. I don't know if I can actually take on an "Iron Artist" thing, but I am thinking I might make commissions themed, maybe involving bondage with ropes, leather cuffs/straps, that kind of thing. If you are interested, make a comment to this journal, and I may set up a queue.
