Back in school (and school is broken)
Posted 9 years agoSorry, haven't submitted anything substantial in while. Loved one in a mental hospital (now out and on recovery) kinda threw off my art vibe, and now I'm in summer classes. 16 weeks of material crammed into an accelerated 8 week course. My schedule has pretty much been a combination of work, school, eat and sleep (and a little minecraft).
So onto school being broken. I won't lie, I'm quite bitter about my experience at community college. I've felt a held back, misinformed and/or cheated. Case in point, I'm pursuing my 3rd certificate... why? Because the other 2 were dropped from the curriculum before I could complete them, leaving me with a few transferable classes, and alot that were rather certificate specific. Not to mention the counselor who helped design my schedule 2 semesters ago had 2 of my 3 classes not even listed on my certificate. HOWEVER I have learned. I take any advice they give me with a heavy pinch of salt. Btw the school has a 23% graduation rate.
Many professors I've had at this school are doing it as a side job or coasting until retirement. Most have no F's to give. So every class I take I walk into with a neutral attitude. I let the professor dictate how the class will go. If they have energy and passion then I'll match it, if they have no F's then I return the favor.One class I am taking now I believe is called like "Culture, Gender and Race in Media". It's an online class. It's highly based around discussion and a blog for the class. Now I'm not the most social person. I'm content to do an assignment with the given instructions, turn it in and then move on with my day. However an alarming portion of our grade is based off our interaction with other students. Crap. Pretty much we are graded for how well written and in depth our posts are. I can't just write a few lines that are short, sweet and to the point.
So on to why this class is broken. In the syllabus we are told that in every assignment we MUST, "post in depth, engaging comments on at least 3 students assignment posts. If discussion is started then it must be pursued". Fuck. I hate talking to people I don't care about/know. Not to mention there is SO much writing. "Analyze this ad with these 30 questions (each with multiple parts), now break down your analysis, describe what parts of the ad relate to this breakdown" Pretty much a fancy way of saying 'split the hairs on a hair". One prior assignment took me almost 5 hrs to complete. I was furious over what hair splitting was required. So as an experiment on the next ad breakdown we had to choose an ad for a product and repeat the same 5 hr breakdown and engage in in-depth discussion. So in my rage I picked the most racist soap ad I could find from the early colonial age of the US. NOTE: By no means do I agree with the content, I simply wanted to choose something that no one would want to talk about. Plus I was curious to see if the professor even commented. I pretty much ignored the "race" elephant in the room and treated it like any normal soap ad. I'm actually quite proud of how PG and neutral stanced it was. As suspected I got few comments and nothing engaging... I also got 50/50 despite ignoring a major factor in the ad. I'm beginning to doubt the professor cares or is even looking at these.
For the next ad we had to choose a product typically marketed to one gender and create an ad targeting the opposite gender, accompanied by the normal hair splitting breakdown. After debating mustache trimmers for women and tampons for men, I decided to focus on beer. Most big beer ads involve sexy women trying to get young males to drink their piss weak beer. I won't go into full detail, but the main images on my ad included passed out college girls (SFW), beer bongs and hand standing on a keg. Prior to the actual writing I included a paragraph criticizing the poor, complicated instructions for the assignment, questioning the thought process behind its construction and I quote "clearly the writer has a fetish for fonts and accents, because no two lines are the same format. A confusing mess of italics, bold, bullets, size changes, font changes and un-shortened hyperlinks". Once again I got 50/50 despite nearly calling the professor a hack.

My birthday
Posted 9 years agoWas on the 26th. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. My mom has had a sudden mental breakdown with anxiety, panic attacks and mild paranoia last week. Being the only family in state I had to take emergency leave from work and stay with her and drive her to appointments. Quite mentally taxing, I didn't realize it was my birthday until someone on skype told me. Good news is she's on some uber pill that's toned things down quite a bit, though it's still going to be an uphill battle.
I have a flash I wanted to get done this month, but this event has thrown a wrench in my gears :/

Yeah we'll get some artists jumping on the bandwagon and giving preg and pregfur a go for the first time, but overall I'd rather this month theme not exist (though I do find the title clever).
Mayturnity and hyper pregs are like Christmas and materialism. You wish that the original themes would shine through, (beauty of newlife) or (giving and being with family), but alas it seems everyone but you insists on reinforcing that each holiday must be accompanied by its appropriate Grinch.
I place blame on both the artists and buyers, though more so on the buyers. You don't blame a fire for burning, I understand artists needing to have income, but that doesn't excuse them from being part of the problem. And to those of you who support this month long orgy of blatant sexualization of newlife... I hope you get carpal tunnel from all your fapping and can't make rent from all the smut you've bought.
Granted I don't post regularly in the first place, but I'm debating going on strike and not posting for the whole month... a hunger strike of sorts.

Posted 9 years agoSo on my way back from dinner at my moms on Sunday night I stopped at the 99 cent store. The gentleman in front of me was purchasing 17- 8oz tubes of lube and a package of tortillas... it's like he was thinking "well geeze 17 tubes seems like an awkward purchase, better add on another item so it looks normal".
Part of me wants to ask why he needed 17 tubes. Then again maybe I'm better off not knowing. At that amount you think he'd be better off buying a bulk container online...

I'll be attempting a few new things with this one, oneof which will be... an interesting nsfw PoV... to give a little teaser. WIPs to come eventually!

Posted 9 years agoI'm curious would anybody be interested in commissioning a flash like the Jennifer one I just posted? I did sort of a weekend warrior on Jennifer's, But I think it's something I could Do regularly if there is enough interest.
If so what would you be willing to pay? Unfortunately it is a three person project, Someone does the art I do the coating and then a third person does the text. Though the buyer could provide the art and text to me instead and have it be cheaper.

Back to school! New flash!
Posted 9 years agoStarted school again, counselor said that if I'm able to do at least 3 classes a semester I'll be done with my AA by the years end. I've come to realize why I havn't done an advanced flash in so long. With my not so new job draining me of all my brainpower I had none left to give at the end of the day. When I was working at HP a mop and bucket could have done my job, my life was pretty much sleep, eat, work, eat, flash, sleep, repeat. I was going nowhere in life, but it was a level of self sufficiency that required little effort, not a good life, but a maintainable one. But with my nwer job I just don't have the mental RAM at the end of the day to sit down and code.

Posted 10 years agoMan i needed that vacation, totally recharged my mental batterys. There are a few stories I won't disclose as the involved partys were intoxicated and not fully in control... they know who they are and i would like to say I had a blast and have not been scarred for life :p
So where to start? Landed late Wednesday night and crashed with
darrencax 
Tsuhara. The following day hung out until 
xaviera, 
nikola and their group arrived. Had a little house party and had a little too much of that fruity rum drink Chai made, played tipsy cards against humanity and crashed on the couch.
Later start on friday as everyone was a little hung over. Had a killer breakfast at an omlet place Chai recommended. Not sure what time we got there, but it was late and pretty dead at the con. Met up briefly with
Ozzy-Wildwind and 
NorthboundFox
Saturday was a con day. Went around to all the artist tables and vendor booths and took in all the sights. Bought a few prints, dropped off buttons and business cards on tables. Got to meet
royalty. Unfortunately both artists I wanted to commission were full for the day. Got to play Magic with Aron and Ozzy, I'm not used to winning (my roomate runs slivers) so it was nice to win for a change. I'll decline specific details on the nights events, but I was stone cold sober in a room where 5 bottles of wine and beer had been consumed amongst 5 people, it was a fun night. I made people PB&J sandwiches :p
Sunday the group decided to leave early. We had seen all we wanted and decided to head back to the house for an after con party. Luckily I got to commission
blyzzarde and 
LeonKatlovre before I left. Played some more magic with Ozzy and Aron, handed out the last of my cards and buttons.
I also got to meet
Ritts and 
TabyKat briefly =3
Sunday night we partied again, though not quite so hard as people were leaving Monday morning.
Said our goodbyes to xaviera, nikola and their group Monday morning. Hung out and watched a movie with Chai and Darren (they fell asleep), a few American dad episodes then left for the airport. I got a TON of original from Chai of my past commissions <3
Onl;y thing I'm bummed about is that I ran out of time and didn't make more buttons :/

What images do you think I should use? I'm only going to use ones I own/commissioned OR have permission to use. I'm thinking of doing many designs with 6 buttons each.

I got the offer on Wendsday, but wanted to discuss my 2016 schooling plans with my boss before accepting the position. They were totally supportive and agreed that schooling holds higher importance than work. They said to accept the position and we'd work out my hours later.
I am SO excited. I started off at this place for a 6 week contract and after 9 months of uninterrupted work and contract extensions they decided to cut out the middleman and hire me on full time.
It comes with a very slight raise, but a full benefits package(health, vision and dental) which are worth their weight in gold.

Posted 10 years ago4 hours past my bedtime, ready to break down in tears and my homework due tomorrow STILL isn't done.
This class is a typical community college bait and switch, easy as pie to keep students enrolled, then as soon as the refund deadline passes, the difficulty skyrockets to encourage dropping so that the school and professors have to do the least work possible. No wonder their graduation rate is 23%.
I described this school to a new student as a Cadbury Creme Egg filled with jizz and spoiled mayonaise.
You buy one and take a bite, how could the colorful wrapper and sweet delicious chocolaty shell lie to you? You cross the line of getting a refund and take a huge bite! LIES, nothing but LIES. The instructors have no fucks to give and as soon as your money is pocketed they reverse polarity and seem to encourage you to go away.
I started out in a class of 40, the last refund date it was 37 est. Within the 6 classes after that date we are now down to 25 est.
Not to mention this is my 3rd degree I'm pursuing (the first 2 were dropped). Long story short it's like I'm a potted plant growing towards an open window only to have it slammed shut when I'm mere inches away. When I ask what I'm supposed to do now (yes I'm a talking plant) they point to another and say "go to that one instead". But I've invested all this time and energy growing towards this specific window! "Looking at your credits you'll be here for at least another year before you'll qualify for a similar degree... NEXT!"
aaaaaaand the school will enroll ANYONE into a basic 100 or 101 level class without any thought. Hell they'd allow a corpse to sign up as long as someone paid their tuition fees. So much of the professors time (and ours) wasted on individuals who clearly didn't have the mental capacity for anything higher than ditch digging, sign holding and walmart greeting. If you have a question about step 1, don't wait until we're on step 12 to call them over and expect to be 1 on 1 brought up to speed by the professor while the rest of us wait on you. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for equal opportunity for education. I just think that like minded people should be grouped with other like minded individuals. Just because they both paid for it doesn't mean a 3rd grader and 12th grader should be placed in the same math class...
I fucking hate the state of my life. Get up early, sit in traffic, grind away at an underpaid job 5 days a week, sit in traffic, pray I get home in time for a night class 2 days a week. Pull the homework out of my ass on Saturday, do all the errands I have no time to do during the week and pretend that it's a relaxing me day. Sunday broil in the sun doing yardwork to make up for what my first job isn't paying me. Little to no time for myself. This further back up my theory about the deadline to drop bullshit the school is pulling. I did see the class get extremely hard suddenly, but it's only now I realize that was AFTER the deadline to drop date. Clever girl... clever girl indeed.

Posted 10 years agoOne thing I tried to do in http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17532612/ was have both mouth movements and changing expressions, however I realized that having both is extremely difficult without having one dominate the other.
Would you rather see mouth movement with one expression OR Many expressions with no mouth movement on future interactives?
I find myself leaning more towards multiple expressions because to me having expression changes involves the viewer more than mouth movement. But since you all are the ones playing them I'd love to hear your feedback.

MOOD, certain things you say to her will raise or lower her mood, her mood will affect what you can say (or do) to her
Much like IRL, if you start groping her breasts before even saying hello things will take nosedive really fast XD
Such 'rewards' for a high enough mood are (but not limited to) her lifting her shirt, letting you feel her belly and use a doppler
A little bonus rant! So every now and again I get comments or notes from people telling me their ideas, animations they'd love to see, trying to manipulate me with how cool it'd be if I did their idea or just outright demanding me to make their idea. But most of the time someone will merely leave a comment on one or more of my flashes and profile in the following format: I'd really love to see (insert idea), It'd be cool if you did (insert idea), Can you do (insert idea) next, etc etc. No comment about the flash they're commenting on, just throwing a line in the water and walking away. So here's my question...
So what sort of a response do you expect? Are you secretly hoping that when I read it angels will cry out Haleluyah and I'll jump from my seat and exclaim, "THIS IS IT! THIS! is the best idea ever for an interactive pregnancy animation. Thank you sir I am forever in your debt for giving me this idea, I will quit my job and shut myself away until this greatest of scenarios is animated exactly to your liking!"
I get comments like yours every now and again. Unless they're rude I usually ask them what would give the impression that I would fulfill their request. I have yet to receive a response from any. Interactive animations are not easy, I myself speed no less than 48 hours total per animation, I have no doubt Doom-the-wolf and Barn-flakes spend much more due to the complexity. So why would someone spend 48+ hours fulfilling a complete stranger's request? It's like alchemy, you need to put in X to get an equal amount of Y back, but these types of 'drive-by requesters' offer nothing and expect back a great thing.
If any of you are this kind of person I'd love to know...
1) Why did you feel the need to post comments like those?
2) Why do you think someone would put so much work and passion into a project for a complete stranger?
3) Do you expect a response?
4) If you've always wanted to see it, why not offer to adequately compensate us to do it?

Also I'm making a ver 2 of the dress up game I posted recently. One new feature will be the ability to change her clothing color. Here's my test code if anyone wants to see http://sta.sh/020zv3yi0wtq
The green and blue button simulate clothing being added or removed. They also tell the color picker which article is 'live' and to affect it. Click the blue button and that article goes away, yay nudity XD But now the color picker sees nothing so it doesn't do anything, same concept for the triangle. The rectangle is just a rectangle... it does nothing... a previous test before shapes.
