FA will now start showing video ads (for now, only to logged out users. FOR NOW), yet we still have no replacement gender drop down menu? Over a month since they removed it?! But I guess ADS are more important to the staff, that features they removed and promised to bring back (I'm expecting them to say they can't, sometime down the road. Just a lie to get people to shut up).

I said it. Here, and on the Discord. The staff, of course, are upset about it. However, clearly they're failing HARD at being responsible site owners and managers. They're going wild, changing shit without alerting the userbase. Then they try and claim they're "rolling back" but they've actually done no such thing. When you call them out, they get super defensive.

This is the same staff who started attacking users. This is the same staff who "...pushed the change to the site before giving our Community a proper heads-up", and then made a half-assed apology and "rollback" (which they havent even done yet). This is a MASSIVE breach of community trust. We need to demand new management and staff. We should DEMAND the staff who attacked users be banned, permanently, from the site. As staff, they must be held to a higher standard of care and action than normal users. They lashed out, while acting in their role as staff. They abused their position, and therefore should be banned.

On a somehwat side tangent, why the fuck are all these puritanical assholes popping up? People who are demanding LGBTQIA+ folks change how they identify themselves. I know people who identify as "herm" or even "Shemale". Are you saying they're no longer allowed to do so, because YOU got offended? Go fuck right off, you're no better than right-wingers. No one gets to demand how someone idetifies in their gender and/or sexuality. I've called myself a faggot before, and I'm not gonna change that. I won't call others these terms, not without their EXPRESS PERMISSION, but I won't let anyone dictate how another can identify themselves. Fuck you for being a bigot and an asshole for DEMANDING others change how they self-identify!

Weasyl, SoFurry, etc. should use this as a means to draw folks away from FA and to something better. They can be such better sites that what FA is devolving into.

Don’t be fooled, FA has done zero rollback or changes. They’re still pushing through their stupid changes, but trying to distract us with a (likely temporary) drop down. They want these changes, so by god they’re gonna a fucking push them through.

Based on many of the comment here and the Discord, yall should’ve left well enough alone. There was ZERO reason to change what has worked fine for years. I understand yall want to shine up the site and add new elements because you think it would be cool, but you stirred up a hornet nest and pissed everyone off.

Roll back COMPLETELY, cancel all upgrade plans, hold a town hall in like a month to discuss this. That’s probably the “best” course of action, after this pile of crap FA waltzed into.

They served us a shitty steak, then tried to make it better by putting a bit of garnish on it. What they need to do is take the steak back. FA need to do a full and complete roll back, no matter what it takes.

They fucked this up by trying to ram it through without notice, then when caught tried to bullshit their way out. When that failed, they threw us a crappy bone while still forcing through unneeded changes.

What bullshit is next? What gets removed because some techie decided this thing would be really cool? What gets removed next when a few, young puritan folks get upset at other terms used in the LGBTQ+ community?

I know and have know folks who happily embraced “h**m” and “sh***le”. I know folks who use the term “f*g” as well as “f***ot”, but if someone dislikes them should they be banned? (Censored so I don’t get told off or banned)

I've always criticized the stupid things people have left the site for. However, this is something I feel you should leave over, or at least be justified in leaving over. I don't trust IMVU one bit.

3rd year for me going to TFF. I doubt anyone would care, but if by chance you're awfully bored and not even a born again christian wants to hang or chat, I'm always open. Gonna be there all three days most likely.

Look for a chubby tall guy wear a hat covered in buttons, and probably wearing a denim vest. Will also likely have a camera draped around my neck.

I've discovered that we furs tend to be a bit more nocturnal than most folks. When evening fell upon the Rich People Hotel (aka Hilton Anatole), the furs came out to play! Met several furs at the con. Also hung out with my buddy  Shadowshep, and another fur who's new to the fandom. Shadow was taking the new fur under his paw, teaching him the ropes.

 Nuka-Kitty and the IARP (International Anthropomorphic Research Panel) had a presentation there, similar to what they put on at other cons. Interesting stuff, per usual. If you havent checked out IARP's studies, do so NOW! Even for long time furs, it's an interesting, somewhat outside (in a GOOD way) view of our fandom. Allows you to step back, and view from a neutral perspective.

Just got back from my sole day at Furry Fiesta. Good times were had. Parking lot was crazy. There was an adorable dragon/scalie thing, who "stole" my cap, then returned it to me after she/she felt it smelled bad. :p

The Ruhbarb bear show was good. Sub Level 03......not as much. They opened with Kashmir. The longest song ever to exist. Prolly a good 8+ minutes....not a good opener.

No one is forcing anyone to participate. This person is not doing anything illegal in most countries. They're giving away their own money. I've been seeing a lot of talk of boycotting the Ender's Game movie, due to Card's potent, anti-GLBT views. In case you don't know, OSC says homosexuality and GLBTs are basically scum, the downfall of the western world, and our sexuality should be criminalized. He's said he'd fight against a government that allowed gay marriage, for that government would've (basically) betrayed it's people, and must be toppled. I've known about his views for roughly 5 years now. I think he's a PATHETIC, disgusting piece of SHIT.

That said, I will probably see the movie.

NOW NOW, BEFORE YOU BURN ME AT THE STAKE, let me say a few things. First, OSC already has his money in the bank. The studio would've paid him simply for the RIGHTS to make a film. Sure, he'll probably get some royalties probably, but he already has a good portion of the total he'll get from the film. That's not really an excuse, just a fact. Those thinking a boycott will personally hurt Card are fools, at best, and massive idiots, at worse. It would only hurt the studio, if it hurt anyone.

Now, let me bring up another GLBT community boycott that's still sorta fresh in our minds. Yes, I'm talking about Chick-Fil-A. At first, it started to work. It was in the news, people were made aware of the founder's homophobia. Then, the reverse started. They suddenly started having an influx of customers, who were eating CFA simply to "support" and "defend" the homophobic founder. In the end, CFA wasn't harmed. If anything, they came out better than before. I'm not saying we should give up. We should learn how to better support, and defend, ourselves. Instead of a boycott that won't cause OSC too lose one wink of sleep, donate, and support, groups like the ACLU. Groups that seek to gain us more rights. Gay marriage groups, pro-trans right groups, etc etc. By changing law, not the opinions of homophobes who can't help us, we gain a better future. It wasn't a racist's author's change of heart that led to Black civil rights. It was changes in the law. OSC could beg for our forgiveness, but that wouldn't get us any closer to widespread gay marriage and GLBT rights.

Let me bring up something else. How many of yall have shopped at Target? Goodwill? Get gas from an Exxon station? Watch movies at your local Cinemark theater? Eat Domino’s pizza? The list could go on, and those are just companies that have, at some point, actively been anti-glbt in some form, or fashion. The list could grow rapidly when you factor in general Christian companies (Forever 21, anyone?). I bet every one of you has given business to one of these companies. I know I have, and many I know have. If you start boycotting everything associated with anti-glbt actions, then you'd best stay home, grow your own crops, and make your own entertainment, and never leave the house. It's sad, it's depressing, but it's a fact.

You want to make a fucking difference? Support pro-glbt groups. Those with the money, and power, to challenge anti-glbt laws. Those groups trying to gain us marriage. Those who want to get us all the rights and benefits "normal", straight couples have.

If you absolutely must boycott/attack/debate/etc some group, go after the GLBT groups who actively oppose gay marriage. Those who say it's wrong, and we're kowtowing to the religious groups, or some bullshit. They could do more damage than Ender's Game doing well at the box office, and even then I don't like the idea of attacking them. Making a fuss over the movie will, at best, mildly irritate the studio, and at worse, drive people to "defend" the film.

Alright, so I came across a journal just a bit ago. It was ranting about a big action gaming franchise. Well, a franchise big enough to be it's own solar system. That big. Anyway, they soul was going on about how it ruined gaming. That got me to thinking. I see this all the time. Such and such has ruined gaming.

Thing is, they haven't. Even M$' Xbox One, with its weird/confusing/Schrodinger's cat used game policy, is not ruining gaming. Gaming isn't about a set of ideals. It's not graphics, or certain game genres. It's not about how many games are considered crap. Gaming is simply one thing. Happiness. Joy. Entertainment.

Gaming is enjoyment.

If CoD makes even one gamer happy. If they come home from a long day of work, sit down, play the latest CoD, and enjoy themselves, well then thats real gaming. That's enjoyment. Gaming is made all the better because it has brought happiness to someone. In the end, isn't that what all entertainment strives to do? To bring us joy. Not everyone will like everything, no. I don't care for Call of Duty. Many don't. Yet, so many others do. Is gaming being ruined by this? Is my enjoyment of Skyrim, Super Metroid, or Resident Evil lessened, even by the slightest, if Joe down the street loves Call of Duty 968? Nope.

One could go on about how companies are milking franchises, putting out loads of DLC, how DLC prices may/may not be over-priced, etc. There's a simple answer to that. People buy. They buy the games, the dlc, all of it. Not because of a blind need to, no. It's their love of the games. They love the games, and want more of it. They are not being forced to buy anything. They do it because they want to. This is not gaming's downfall, no. This is a triumph. It shows the gaming world that we love the game we play. They make us happy, and we are more than willing to give money, so we can have more to enjoy. This is not gaming being ruined. This is gaming at its greatest. The companies, most of the time at least, are listening to us, as we vote with our wallets. These big franchises wouldnt exist if we didn't buy them like crazy. We buy them, because we get so much enjoyment out of them. As long as we still get enjoyment from our games, then gaming is not being ruined,

Gaming will only be ruined, when we stop enjoying our games. When we stop loving them. When they no longer mean anything to us. Every game we play leaves its mark on us. Look around you. So many games and game franchises have huge fan community. Look around this site. You'll see, even in the porn, the love we have for games and the experience they give us.

For some stupid/idiotic/random reason, FA has somehow managed to PERSONALLY offend/insult/(insert negative action here) you, so you're running off to (insert brand spanking new furry website here), abandoning FA, supposedly for good. Brand new website, and for some reason you feel the need to jump from a stable, relatively well run ship (though she has her quirks and issues, for certain), and onto a ship that's brand new, shiny, but not well tested. To the majority of yall, see you in a few days/weeks/months, when you come running back realizing what you did was very stupid, and you lost a good portion of your fan base. To you who are intelligent, and simply making sister accounts on these various websites, good job. That's what you're supposed to do.

It makes sense to get your stuff out there, put it up in as many places as you can. Some folks on Weasyl may not be on FA, and vice versa. This can especially be said with DA.
