As if AI wasn't already a threat to human creativity and creators, with the introduction of Sora and Altman's complete and utter disregard for people's creative well-being and ownership, we are continuing to dive deeper and deeper into a world where Art, Creativity, and Self-Expression could cease to exist thanks to technology being able to steal, replicate, and mimic what humans create. And so many people in this day and age are of the destructive, completely broken mindset that "hey, I can get it for free and in a matter of seconds, so this is a net positive" completely disregarding how this will affect the well-being (mentally and financially) of those who created the art the AI is stealing from...
We were sold the lie that AI was going to help humans, to be an assistant tool, to make our lives easier. But all it's doing is piling even more hardship on people who have already had it hard, and dismantling the last good bastion of humanity.
If we lose art, we lose our culture and everything that makes us who we are, both as a society and an individual.

You know I see friends of mine always sharing these comms they get with other people and I don't know how they do it... Maybe they're more brave to go out and ask their friends? I'm always so nervous to ask.

It seems a lot of artists that I really like are just... Disappearing. Some of them that I have commissioned art from or even have active commissions I'm waiting on completing, and others that I follow and just love their art... They just have gone unresponsive for so many months and some even years.
And regarding the artists I've commissioned, these aren't like new, unknown artists who have very little art or business to their names. These are like, established artists and fandom veterans who have been around and have hundreds of art and clients under their belt, and many that I have commissioned previously and have had fantastic experiences with, and suddenly... Poof...
I'm really worried, y'all. While it sucks having stuff that you paid for up in the air, I'm more worried about the artists themselves. I hope they're okay.

Now first and foremost, I'm not saying this in support of zoophiles. I'm not giving them an outlet to fly their flag- this is just a position that has sat with me for years and a recent journal I read went off on it and left me pissed off.
So here it goes:
If you hate on Zoos and partake in any of the other societal norms that cause trauma or pain to animals, you're an absolute hypocrite and you really need to check yourself. What do I mean?

Hunting - Straight up killing an animal. Bullshit. Bull. Shit. If you think being bumped by a dog is worse than murdering a cow or a deer your loony.
Supporting the meat industry - Have you SEEN how much hurt animals go through to make your chicken Sammy? But that kinda mental abuse is a-ok. Because you get to eat your juicy hamburger or steak still.
Spaying/Neutering - This one really ticks me off. I get the thought behind it is for supposed to be good and helping, but how much hurt would you feel if someone just came along and ripped out your testicles or ovaries? Probably pretty bad. Hurt, betrayed, etc... And to counter the "oh it controls the animal population" here's a novel idea - Be a good fucking owner and keep an eye on your dog or cat so they don't go getting pregnant.

There's more but I'll leave it at that. I'm just tired of seeing, for like the 10th time in what feels like a week, another "Zoos are bad" post because I'm sure that the majority of people who make those journals do at least 1 of these things (not all, I'm sure there's some standup vegans who champion all things animal welfare and if they want to make a Zoo-negative post, I'm all for that). But I'm tired of these people on their high-horse eating their cow-abuse burger chastising someone cause they let a pent-up dog hump their leg.

Heya all! I'm reaaallly wanting to get some 3D models, staring out with Lilamev, but I feel it's impossible to do this without having a good reference sheet to go off of.
So I was curious - Do you all know of any artists that make references, particularly with a focus to be used for 3D modeling? All the ones I know are either closed at the moment or have a huge queue.

I dunno, I feel like I'm just... Not worth being talked to. Always felt like this tbh but it just keeps getting worse and worse. I see other accounts where people will just continuously post art about themselves, and they get so many comments from people taking about how great the art is, or how amazing or cute or sexy their characters are, and it's just overwhelming how much people get love for their stuff.
I try my best - I get art of my stuff, art of other characters, I make gifts for other people, I try to offer to joint comm others, I try to be talkative and post on other people's art and journals, and I am lucky to see any response on anything. Heck I can even note people and there's a very good chance that my notes get left unread or they are read and don't get responded to.
I know it's kinda dumb to expect some sort of conversation or connection on a site that is first and foremost an art site, but I see other people with flourishing pages where they have so many people to chat with and have fun with and it's disheartening when I come back over to my little space that is a ghost town.
This is more just me ranting while I'm at a shit place emotionally (fucking sucks being a manic avoidant) and not really aimed at anyone. Those of you who do reach out, who chat or just randomly post or message me, I appreciate you all so much and it means the world. And I appreciate all the artists who I have ever poked for work, as you all are so nice to not only respond to me, but also have conversations with me while we talk through details and such. You all give me so much positivity in an otherwise dim and useless life.
I guess I'm just feeling super vulnerable and alone, moreso than usual, and as someone who is usually plagued with a lingering feeling of being someone not worthy of the attention of others, it's not feeling great.

Also I find it funny that we're not allowed to post characters with childlike proportions, even if they're confirmed to not be children (you can BREED Eeevees in Pokemon), but the clarification they sent out states "Minors involved in "SFW"...interests, such as vore...are allowed."
So to reiterate, we can't draw smut of adult characters with smaller proportions (like Chibis), but literal children being eaten is a-ok.
Yeah, that makes sense. Again, nothing really against vore, it just seems very hypocritical, which is the keyword of this team.

I can't think of a more perfect way to express the feeling of continuing life after losing someone you love and have spent so much of your life with. After the Rain may be one of the most emotional and heartfelt songs I've ever heard, and wholly appropriate as a tribute to the wonderful man, Bernie Bellamy (Babicsek Bernat). Paddy and the Rats is one of my favorite Celtic Punk bands of all time, and while I love every single member of this amazing band, Bernie was always a shining star. He was so full of energy and life, always gave 110% and always had an absolute blast doing it (just listen to 'Join the Riot and you can see what I mean as he kills the role of troublemaker crewmate and has an absolute blast going ham on his accordian with his crew). He was always so fun to watch and his accordian work was an absolute delight. He left this world earlier this year and it's hard to think the man is gone, especially at the young age of 41... Hell, in the larger view of human life, he was still a baby, and still had so much to experience...
Paddy is and always will be a band that I cherish and look to for some fun, rambunctious pirate-y fun, but there will always be a hole in my heart when I listen to them knowing Bernie isn't there with them anymore. RIP, you crazy, amazing accordianist. You will be deeply and sorrowfully missed. May your ultimate voyage on the seas of the great beyond bring you to brighter, happier shores.

Hey guys and girls! I went and got a couple games the other day, and in them are steam keys for N++ and Automachef. I can't say if Automachef a good game or not, but the reviews are decent. I personally don't really play automation/factory games like this, so it's just get rust sitting in my library. I know N++ is fantastic, I've watched many letsplays of it and it looks very fun, but I just know in my heart's heart that it's a game I'd never get to.

IT'S COMING! February 28th marks the official release of the 3rd expansion for my personal favorite MMO, Guild Wars 2, and with it comes new mounts, new elite specs, skiffs (boats) and *gasp* fishing! You know fishing is always a big hit in any video game, and the fact we're getting boats makes me excited to see how the fishing system works (I hope we'll be able to travel far out to the seas (at least as far as the boundaries allow) and do some serious fishing.) And of course, we can't forget the fact we're getting to revisit Cantha! The Jade Sea is calling my name!!
Got this bad boy prepurchased and sitting at the ready (recently lost countless hours in my new Asuran warrior I built up as well), I can't wait to see exactly what we're getting with this! The only (small) gripe I have is the new Ranger Elit Spec... As awesome and exciting as the Untamed is going to be (it seriously looks amazing), I'm still curious how this class has not learned to master pistols and rifles yet...
Anyways, hugely excited! If you're a lover of GW2, feel free to chat with me about it, and we can even hang out in-game, I'm always happy to have someone to shoot the breeze with - Just know I don't get to frequent it as regularly as I'd like to.

And I urge anyone who likes JRPGs and owns either a PS4, PC or viable mobile device to give it a go! It's honestly one of, if not the best game I've played in 2020 (And Desperados 3, Valhalla, Animal Crossing and FF7R among many other stellar games came out this year, so huge props.)
You can't go wrong, it's free-to-play, encourages single-player but does have multiplayer, has a huge, gorgeous world you can get lost in, and amazingly adorable characters that are given so much charm through the beautiful, BOTW-esque art style. Oh! And full voice acting to boot! The microtransactions, which uses a gacha system are super non-invasive, not to mention they let you try out every character currently in the machine so you can see if you even want to risk your hard-earned gems/cash to try for them, and the game even gives you an acceptable dose of free characters earned just by playing (Xiangling is the absolute best, but be prepared to FIGHT for her)
The combat is absolutely stellar with every single character having their own unique and powerful abilities they bring to battle, allowing you to craft a team to your personal strengths (just don't sleep on Lisa, she's a low-key beast.). And speaking of, every character is so insanely detailed, from their look to their biography and their skills and stats that it's actually kind of insane seeing how new the game is and the roster size.
It's no wonder this game is getting the spotlight it has, and deservedly so. I'm sure most people who are interested has already given it a try, but for those who may have been afraid to pull the trigger on a gacha-style free-to-play game or may be out of the loop... Give it a try, you may find a new favorite or a fun way to kill some time!

Hello lovely people!! I have some some fairly interesting art information to share. It might be a little long-winded so I'll label it all, no need to read it all if you don't want.

Pointless Rambling. You can skip if you'd like
Back in 2019, I drew a piece involving a gross mosquito boy named Mr. Popup... Then Halloween week Thomas, with a quick passing mention of a certain "Fan Art Friday"...
Well, it's been something that's been on my mind since the day I drew Mr. Popup, and I've been wanting to expand upon it for quite some time now. I know that was a bit back when I made that, but I've been in the works with this idea for quite a while and I'm excited to announce that I would love to start my own personal "Fanart Friday."
Now, this isn't going to be every single Friday, sadly, as life and my own horrible tendancy to procrastinate or just not have dedication to draw at times would cause me to let everyone down if I promised that, but from this point, and hopefully on, Fridays I post (bar Holidays) will be dedicated to fanart.

The Important Bits
So with that said, any pictures I post on Fridays will be dedicated to fanart. Now I have a few interesting desires with this: I'd love to draw characters that aren't super popular or don't get a lot of recognition (so popular staples like Fox or Krystal probably won't be getting any facetime) as well as more monstrous/creepy/evil boys and girls! Fanart Friday will be a mix of characters I really would love to draw, but also don't be shy to suggest some characters. I'd be more than happy to see who you all would like r34'd.

Now regarding these suggestions
There's no requirement for anyone making a suggestion, feel free to ask about who or what you find cute/sexy! Now I will be upfront in I will obviously be more biased to favor requests that include characters that interest me or are not given as much exposure (meaning, while I love Bowser to death, he would get stomped out by, say, Mr. Katz...) and you can add certain poses/actions etc as well if you'd like, but you don't have to. If you'd rather just throw a character out and have me work on the rest I'm completely fine with that! (But be warned, it'll probably end up with major butt/balls or boobs focused pieces if that is to happen because I'm an unimaginative twat :p ) Also, if the pose, action or etc. is something I'm not confident or comfortable (or just out of my skill level) then I'll probably end up revising it a bit.

As far as suggesting
Do so in this journal, or even a Fanart Friday piece that is posted. I'll keep tabs on everyone who suggested and who/what they suggest. I probably won't be posting that list anywhere on here, but be sure I will have it.
And lastly, again, it's certainly not a first-come-first-serve basis (if anyone even displays interest in this) it will be based off the info provided in the previous topic point, and the list will be mish-mashed with suggestions and my own stuff. And yes, this could take a loooong time, because I am slow to draw and constantly have tons of other ideas circling around my head, and these fanart pieces will be swirling around with all the other stuff I have a desire to work on as well. Just thought this might be a fun little thing to do every once in a while.
