Just a friendly hello after I've been away for so long! With work and now me working on more types of art, I haven't had much time for the group which I feel really sorry about!

I just wanted to go over some things also that have been brought up in the Genderfluid Furs Skype chat as well as the Facebook group!

*taps papers on desk*

First off, I really adore every single one of you and I hope you realize that I take all your suggestions seriously!

That being said, if there is a problem with you and another group member either on or off FA, the Skype group or Facebook, DO NOT POST YOUR CONVERSATION ON A PUBLIC FORUM! This is NOT what the genderfluidfurs is about!! This is a place where we can talk about what we want (within reason) and feel safe to know that our opinions won't be posted in a public area!!

IF YOU FEEL SO INCLINED TO POST THE DISAGREEMENT SOMEWHERE, PLEASE MAKE SURE THE OTHER PERSON'S NAME IS TAKEN OUT AND LEFT ANONYMOUS!

If you'd like to be part of the skype group chat, please add either myself (skype name: ne0nic ) or  darkwingeddestiny (skype name: sukiosweetheart ) with a friend request saying you are from the genderfluid furs group! (This will help immensely, so, please remember this!)

That way we can be in a big group and talk in real time with each other about anything!

A few things I'd like to talk about!


1. I am really, REALLY sorry for not being around to talk to and I probably haven't been the best group owner as I could be! Lucky for me, you all are so awesome and don't cause any trouble for me to have to clean up!

2. JUST WOW! 1183 MEMBERS! Just, wow! You guys are just. I could just hug and kiss all of you!

3. With that many members, I was wondering if someone could do something I've been thinking about for a long time? Could someone make a separate skype account or something so we can have members who wish to join a skype convo with other members to all chat in live time instead of waiting on notes and we could also discuss things that go on in the group (pictures, future contests, etc.) If anyone would like to volunteer, please note the group! I would do it, but as you all can tell, I have a tough enough time as it is keeping up with all you awesome members! After a group chat is established, I will make a journal with the group username and how to get added into the group!

4. New icon! Idea by and just cleaned up by me! Please thank them for their wonderful idea because now we have an awesome new icon for our group!

5. Lastly, I just wanted to thank EVERYONE who's joined the group, made it public in their own profile or just spread the word by talking to others! It leaves such a warm feeling in my chest! I really love you all!


I hope everyone has had a SAFE and at least tolerable holidays. If not, please know that no matter what anyone says, you are a valid human being/furry.

So sorry I haven't been around you guys, school and other offline stuff is eating up all my time. I hope you don't think any less of me because of my inactivity with the group.
I just want to say though how happy I am that people are still joining and advertising the group in their profiles, journal headers or, their journal footers.

That's just really the bee's knees for me! :D

Anyway, sorry I haven't been very active in the group!
I am starting to favorite works that you guys show me unless it's specifically showing the pride of gender-fluidity.
(It's really hard to keep track of putting up all those submissions, usernames, and what-not)
After I favorite it, it's a lot easier to look back and submit it! :D

Happy New Year to everyone! For those who've celebreated, celebrating, planning to celebrate or for those just waiting for the new day to come!

It's been an amazing year for the group! We will be ending the year with 800 members (or more!) so, I think this has been great!

I will try to make a better site in the new future where we can go and chat live and such!

We've been getting a lot of questions on our shouts from users asking us if they are gender fluid or not.
To explain as simply as possible, that's not for us to decide. Being gender fluid isn't something that even an "expert" on gender can tell you; it's for you to decide! Sorry for anyone hoping for a more clear answer, but we are not here to label anyone unless they choose for themselves to be labeled as such after they know for sure. This causes a lot less offense and even drama. We don't like to assume anything about anyone and this includes what you consider yourself gender wise.

Long story short, we aren't the ones who can tell you if you are gender fluid, that is something you just gotta find out for yourself. And heck, even if you can't decide, nobody is saying you HAVE to use a label. :D

I hope this clears some things up!

We've finally reached that point! Jeez! It seems like only yesterday that this was a baby group wiith only a few members but wow! I am so happy about this! I wish I could do something for every single one of you but sadly all I can do is offer virtual hugs to every single one of you! If I could, I would make a hangout place for us and we could all just chill and be happy!

I am glad to see we are still getting new members to the group!
It makes me so happy to have created a group where everyone can come together and support each other.
It just seems like yesterday that this was just a tiny little group with just my friends and a few other people as members!

I just wanted to let new members and old members alike, that if anyone needs advice or if anyone has any questions, feel free to either note me or the co-owner. We'd like this group to feel secure and as open minded as possible.

Another thing I've been seeing on the shouts is people asking if they are genderfluid or not and I have been responding with, "That's the great thing about being genderfluid. It's not about being or not being. It's just being completely normal and choosing to have a label to help describe yourself. If you want to be considered so, then be so!" because I feel that even if you are genderfluid by all "text book terms", you shouldn't have to label yourself if you don't want to! It's all about choice in how you want yourself to be seen by others and labels are totally a choice.

One last thing I've been seeing on and off throughout our shouts is people comparing sex and gender.
Such as, "Wouldn't this be herm, not genderfluid?" and let me just put this as simply as possible. No, being a herm has nothing to do with being genderfluid.

To explain it so everyone understands, being a hermaphrodite means that you have both male and female genitals. Being genderfluid means that you think of yourself in terms of being male and female (or anywhere in between). It's all about knowing the difference between physically having both a penis and a vag and mentally perceiving yourself as someone with two or sometimes even more genders.

For example, a lot of the herm characters I see on furaffinity often "see" themselves as just female (despite some being more dominant or submissive than others)

But someone who is born a girl or a boy who is genderfluid sees themselves as both a girl and a boy or anywhere in between at any given time.

I hope that helps some of you who are new to this term and I look forward to seeing more members come in as well as current members making this group the amazing thing it is!

You peeps are the ones that make this group awesome! Keep it up!

is having computer problems on their dinosaur of a machine. Due to unfortunate cards that have been dealt to her in her life, art is her only source of money and if her computer dies, her income goes bye-bye. The idea would be showing that your character doesn't go by the standard of the gender binary and the theme would be freedom of gender.

and I () will be judging on creativity, quality and also how much it goes by the theme.


Rules are as follows:

1. The art MUST be yours. If we find out that any element of the art is stolen or doesn't belong to you, you will be disqualified.
2. All members have a month as of now to finish their piece so it won't interrupt with the holidays. The due date is December 20th at 7PM CST (Central Standard Time) Judging will take place on the 21st.
