Hey Everyone!
General | Posted 10 years agoJust letting everyone know that this group is still active. It's purpose is to network and meet others who share this or similar gender identities(or a lack of). It's been a while since I've faved any agender art so I may try to sweep through FA's search query again and see what I can find.
If you have any piece of art that would be appropriate to be faved by or submitted to this group, shoot me a message on
azefish that way I get it.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Happy Holidays

Hello Genderless, Non-Binary or Genderqueer Furs! Update.
General | Posted 11 years agoThe last journal I made was a while back when WeThePeople.gov had the "Legally recognize non binary gender identities" petition still open. It passed with over 100,000 signatures and finally, we received an answer. Basically, the door is cracked open, ever so slightly, for the tenacious non binary people to make an effort and challenge the various institutions that categorize us by using the rigid binary system. I'm not sure if I'm the candidate for such things but I would love to challenge the FL DMV myself to have an X or I or Other on my license. I'm ready for change.
Speaking of Florida, I run a Facebook group called "Non-Binary Florida". I'm working on trying to gather Florida's genderqueer, non-binary and NB transgender folks together so that we may all network and discuss important issues concerning gender identity. I also run two support groups in Tampa, Florida. I would love to see more folks join and gain insight from others.
Here is the FaceBook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/247733892081766/
Cheers and be well,
-Torin

Round 3! Legally Recognize Non-Binary Genders!
General | Posted 11 years agoWe're currently needing 13,500 more signatures and it looks like this time we will hit our 100,000 mark! This will be an incredible breakthrough for the trans and non-binary community and I am personally VERY excited to see where it goes. Please, sign this petition to make folks like myself and other non-binary and gender non-conforming folks able to be recognized legally and respectably.

Ind. as a Gender-Neutral Title?
General | Posted 12 years agoThis is cross posted from my Tumblr. Be sure to share it! I'd love some feedback.

Ind. as a Gender Neutral Title?
I am a genderless identifying individual. I’ve always strongly disliked titles such as ma’am and sir. Sadly, these gender-appointing titles are so commonly used and abused in daily life that it’s hard to escape them. On my quest to find an English gender-neutral title, I discovered M., Mx. and a small variety of other cleverly shortened titles but unfortunately, these choices did not satisfy me. I decided to think about a proper substitution that I would be comfortable, proud and satisfied with. This is what I discovered.
"Ind." short for "individual". Example: “Ind. Kody Black” shortened for “Individual Kody Black”.
"Individual" is a powerful word that resonates with me. Rather than being gender specific or non-binary gender identifying, this is an all inclusive title and is applicable to just about anyone with any type of identity. When said in length to accompany a name, "individual" might sound a bit cumbersome which may lead one to dislike this gender neutral replacement for ma’am or sir. However, my opinion remains that "individual" is fair, neutral and has an honorable quality. It stands out.
"Would Individual Mae Brunn please stand."
"Let us welcome Individual Torin Unrealisk to the stage."
"Excuse me, Ind. Smith, may you please help me with this math problem?"
I’d love to know what you all think about this proposed gender-neutral title. Share!
Thanks.

New Genderless Group Icon
General | Posted 12 years agoHello folks, just an other brief group update.
I took it upon myself to make a new group icon. I've had this design in mind for quite a while but with my lack of time for interwebz, I've only been able to do something with it now. For any of you who are not aware - the purple, white and green stripes are the genderqueer flag colors. I placed a circle over this flag to imply "nothingness" or the absence of gender. It is not anything official in the community(But yet, what really is "official"?) and some of you may not approve of the design. I feel it is a relatively functional symbol for this group. What do you all think?

(Just a disclaimer: I do not care for labels to begin with so it really doesn't matter to me whether these things even exist or not.)

How Do You Non-Gender?
General | Posted 12 years agoThis may or may not be a touchy subject for everyone so just remember, you can choose not to comment.
I've been attending the local Transgender Support Group meetings because I was thinking perhaps I would find similar folks that don't use gender as part of their identity. I have not encountered any yet and I'm not dismayed or upset about it at all, the people there are all very kind, supportive and understanding(even if my situation of not claiming gender confuses the hell out of some of them). I've just found myself... Almost jealous? These people are either starting to transition, in the middle or already have and they feel genuine and seem pleased. Even though transitioning from one gender to the other is a very difficult and painstaking task, there is still the convenience of knowing what gender is appropriate for them and being able to present themselves as such to the world.
I'm comfortable with not claiming a gender. It is the answer to my deep questions but it makes things oh so very difficult in the real world. Pronouns, looks, names(if you're even concerned with all that). These are things that I struggle with constantly, being addressed as my birth gender, ect. I haven't let it bother me too greatly as I have gotten older but I still wish there were something to further validate my genderless presence in the world.
**
So, the question is, are there any surgeries or procedures you would like to have done to yourself to appear more androgynous or without gender? Such as, biological females having top surgery? What do you do at this time to let everyone else know about who you are and how you identify? Do you dress a certain way? Have a special hair cut?
I am biologically female and I was thinking top-surgery would be something that would interest me. Perhaps even removing my internal reproductive organs since I don't wish to procreate(Adoption preference). I don't feel the need to take testosterone or anything since I would not be transitioning to male. However, as appealing as the end result sounds, surgery is incredibly invasive and there's no turning back. I'm not sure if I would ever actually go through with such things unless I was 100% confident in the procedure and I had the money and the emotional support of my family(Which I know I would never get). In the mean time, I have a short, unisex hair cut and wear unisex or male clothing with an obvious female shape and form. I've yet to try binding my breasts but it might be something to explore in the near future.
So, at this time, talk of surgeries for myself are just fantasies playing out in my mind. I am curious to hear what you all have to say about yourselves.
Cheers,

Edit: I just wanted to point out that "genderless", "null-gender", "gender-neutral", ect does not imply that one must modify their body in any way in order to comply or qualify with this form of expression or identity. I really do not do much of any modifications aside from hair and clothes simply because I feel surgery is invasive(as mentioned above). Everyone is different and sees themselves and "genderless" differently.
