Megaplex is coming

I will NOT be dealing at Megaplex this year. I turned fifty and haven't been to a furry con I haven't vended at for almost two solid decades, and so I'm going to actually enjoy a little bit of the con as an attendee. I'm still staffing the dealer's room but not running a table. If you need me for anything to poke Foxena at the Foxtayls table.
If you're going to be there let me know! Since I'm going to be a little more mobile this year (I'll still have Aslan) I'd love to hang with folks and talk!

February Plans!
Posted 8 months agoSuperb Owl this Sunday! We're still deciding on what we wish to do for the superb owl, but we'll try and do something to keep you entertained. I was thinking of trying to finish my ME2 playthrough. Either way, I hope to make your Sunday entertaining for those of you not so interested in Owls.
I am off and on again playing Veilguard with my friend Kane, who is a fellow writer and creator and we've been snarking about the mistakes made in the game (nothing political, but it shows that they fired all their good writers) and the streams have been very good talking points for writing theory and how to and how NOT to build a fantasy world. So keep an eye peeled for those.
Valentines day we are celebrating Raevix's birthday. It's way early but things just kind of fell together and when it's your birthday you're allowed to ask for whatever you want, and Rae wanted Valentines day. So please join us then for an evening of Mythforce, a wonderful multiplayer game that looks like you're playing a Filmation cartoon complete with corny 1980's dialog.
February 20th is Fox's birthday and she has requested more Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, so I'll be starting a fresh playthrough from the beginning for her which will be fun for any nostalgia fans and anyone who would like to see the game. There's been a lot of concern about how it matches up to the movies and honestly I think it's pretty darn good. Come join us on the 20th and see for yourself! Narc mom comics
Posted a year agoI have fourteen scripted in total and will probably have #4 out before the day is out. But a few folks have expressed concern about me so I just wanted to clarify a few things.
The biggest is that I'm actually doing okay. I had a rough time in 2021 but it helped me work through some things that I needed to work through, and for the first time in my life I can actually express some things I wasn't able to as a child because my brain had been so twisted by the abuse that things like, "Hey, you notice that none of your family stood up for you while they watched you get abused?" never occured to me until much later in my life.
My mother was a narcissist and I was her scapegoat. For folks unaware of the terminology, it's very typical for a narc mom to pick a favorite child and then a child who takes the brunt of all of her insecurities, all her frustrations, and all of her negativity. The golden child can do no wrong, and scapegoat can do no right. If another parent is on the scene usually they stand back and watch, sometimes participate, and play the role of the enabler. And the reason why is usually, "Better you than me." The golden child gets all the preferential treatment because they're the one the narc intends to shape as their clone, while the scapegoat soaks up all the abuse, often getting punished for things the golden child did.
Recovery from the role of the scapegoat consists of accepting that your parent was broken and really not emotionally capable of being a good parent. Unfortunately it also means accepting that it was easy for the rest of your family to go along with it most of the time. I once had a friend who was horribly abused by her grandfather, and when she asked her grandmother why she didn't stop him the answer was, "If he was abusing you, then he left me alone." (Thankfully the friend's response was, "I am never speaking to you again." and she didn't even attend the woman's funeral when she died after that point) But it takes time to get out of the mindset that it's your fault, or that it's okay that nobody did anything about it.
But the important thing is that none of the comics I'm posting are coming from a point of pain anymore. If anything, they're my triumph. I've been in therapy for about a year and it's helped me understand that none of what happened was my fault, I'm not a bad person, and I should be really damn proud of the fact that I not only escaped but I thrived despite all of her neglect and abuse. My other family members I think remained broken or passive because that's how she bent them to act. But I'm not. I have a wonderful life and family and amazing friends now. And she can't really do more than sulk in her hole and try to convince herself that she's right.
But please don't worry about me. The comics are my victory cry, not a cry for help. It's my hope that by putting them out there that they help other people and give them the words and concepts that an abuse victim might not consider because they've been conditioned to not ask for help or fight back. If they do help anyone, then they've done their job. But as for me, I'm actually doing pretty great right now.

Birthday Stream!
Posted a year agoGuess who has two thumbs and is turning half a century this month?
You people have always known how I like to share my birthdays and do fun marathons with prizes and things, and since you don;t turn fifty every day I wanted to do something a little different and special.
So, August 9th, 10th, and maybe even carried over to the 11th I will be streaming games and giving away raffle prizes in the form of game codes. I note that I always try to give the good stuff and my codes are usually worth at least $20 per.
I will have a donation drive going but this isn't so I can buy myself toys. The mattress Uriel and I sleep on is dying to the point that we both wake up in pain and it's time to replace it. Since the last expensive mattress I bought turned out to be kind of a dud, I'm going a different route, this time we're getting a hybrid spring coil and memory foam (with cooling properties for my menopausal hot flashy butt) and the stream is intended to raise funds for that. We're also planning a stream for New Yea rs later this year with some special guests, and how much we raise this year will go into funding things like revisiting the horrible dinosaur reject park and horrible bad movies the crew will be forced to watch.

Hi! It's a new year. Just wanted to give you a rough idea of what to expect from us this year.
We're planning on doing at least one animatic this year for the overlord comic but that is very heavily dependant on if we get a fat enough buffer for the Overlord comic. If we can get a couple of months ahead we'll put time aside for animatics.
The next event will be in Late March when we celebrate Ten Years of the Overlord comic and when I dared people to help Fox make goal if she draws comic pages, and now we're here. I usually stream for a weekend and we drop fun trivia.
I usually stream for the 4th of July, and also my birthday August 13th or close proximity.
Megaplex is in September.
There will be *NO* Gaming for Kitties this year. Megaplex has moved to September and so October is a time when I'm recovering. We're thinking of having an event in 2024 in April or May and space the two events apart. But I also made my goal and made over $100k for BCR over ten years, so I might also just decide to hang it up and call it a win. And considering I'll turn 50 in 2024, I think that's not too bad a place to stop if I so choose. But we'll see how I'm feeling later this year.
So that is the current state of things. I hope to see you in future events!

Mugsy has passed
Posted 3 years agoI haven't written it in a journal before but the people who attended the streams knew. Ever since September 2021 Mugsy has been battling lymphoma. On January 3rd at around 3PM he lost his battle and passed away at the doctor's office.
Uriel and I mourn very privately so we would ask that people don;t love bomb or fuss. We know you all loved him very much and it is that love and the memories that have helped carry us.
For those of you who did not know, I'm sorry. He was loved, and chemo gave us another year and change with him to help prepare to say goodbye. But it's never easy.

New Years Stream!

There will not be court reporters because Fox would really like to focus on the comic since our backlog is so puny, so she's going to spend the weekend finishing up the latest arc and starting on the next one. There WILL be cameo slots in both although we're not sure if any are major ones. If we have major cameo slots we'll let you know.
The stream will start at the usual 6PM Eastern stream slot and I just plan to play Undertale until I finish it OR until there's not that many people in the room to make it worth it.
So please join us this Saturday starting at 6PM Eastern and we'll ring in the new year with all of you.

Megaplex Preorders....

I have multiple badge styles and other fun things. I'm sorry for the delayed start but some of my supplies were late in coming and I had a big elaborate plan for the badges that fit the convention's glow theme.

New Years Stream!
Posted 4 years agoI'm really late to the game posting on this but here is your announcement. 9PM Eastern December 31st we begin the New Years marathon! There will be games, prizes, and court reporter images along with the usual tormenting of the pit crew with bad movies. 3PM Saturday afternoon I will judge winners of the minecraft contest we tossed at the patrons. I've told them that if they give me an impressive enough presentation of a floating block of dirt I might let it win. So it's probably going to be very interesting.
Please join us for a day of fun! The stream length will depend on donations and how much energy we have, but I plan to give you at least twelve hours if not more before New Years day is over.

Gaming for Kitties 2021!
Posted 4 years agoI'm going to keep this brief as this year I have a lot to do and very little time.
This year Gaming for Kitties is particularly poignant and relevant for us and the crew. Earlier this month Mugsy was diagnosed with advanced lymphoma. He is undergoing treatment and we are doing our best for him, but he has a long fight ahead of him. As of now he has lost weight but is active and besides getting a little tired more often he is acting normal. We hope to keep him that way.
With sad stuff out of the way, let's get to the important parts...
Gaming for Kitties starts at Saturday o'clock Eastern October 30th. This year we will have an eight hour break from 4AM Eastern until noon on Sunday while the crew rests. If someone wants to fill in for me they are welcome to but we can discuss that privately.
If we make $5,000 Before October 27th Fox will once again have to suffer a silly local park. This one alligator themed.
We also plan to cosplay our pit crew up and do a photo shoot. We will have fun random incentives during the stream. More celebrity appearances. And a ton of surprises. Remember kids, I pulled off Hasselhoff last year.
If we make our $10,000 goal two things will happen! First: I will replay Another World for the first time in almost a decade. And every time I swear I will donate $5 to Big Cat Rescue. Another world is an action puzzle platformer from the early 1990's when video games were brutal. That game broke parts of my soul that are only now healing. You will get to see them break once more. And secondly, the pit crew will have to watch Neil Breen's Fateful Findings... UNLESS!!!!
You can save Fox if we can make $12,000 before the event ends. If that happens, Fox will watch a lesser bad movie and will be eternally grateful.
If you donate $50, I will rename the discord server person of your choice the nickname of your choice. I suggest you consider any ideas for this carefully though as the person can then change their name right back if they want, plus I would rather this not be a tool for mean pranks or fetish stuff.
I am still working out what I plan to do for multiplayer.

July 4th Stream Postphoned
Posted 4 years agoI am VERY sorry to do this everyone, but I am having to cancel my 4th of July stream. I feel fine, but my health is juuuust off enough right now that I don't trust myself for a 12 hour stream, when I should probably just take a day to rest. THIS JULY 4TH I will be streaming from 3PM Eastern until I finish Night in The Woods, which should take around 10-14 hours. There will be the usual slew of donation incentives and hourly raffle prizes so please show up! We’ll hopefully have some special guests too. I am taking Megaplex badge preorders, but for a very small group limited to Fox’s patreon. Saying that, if you let me know you want something from me I might make an exception. So if you want a badge from me, please ask even though I’m limiting it. I might say yes if I’m not overwhelmed.

Kitties, Comics, and New Years!
Posted 5 years agoHey all! Let me start this by saying that this year’s Kitties was the second most successful we’ve ever had! And it happened while we’re all trying to live in a world with Covid and after that documentary that had me nervous about participation this year. Things turned out amazing and I am so grateful to all of you for it. Thank you to everyone who came to help, although next year we probably won’t have as big of a crowd as my little house just can’t sustain so many people. But we’ll still have some special guests and some cool surprises.
The next fun event will be the New Years marathon which Fox and I do to help with tax bills and other things. We’re still hashing out times, but I was thinking from 6PM New years eve until 6PM New Years day, although we might add some extra hours if donations go well. I will play all sorts of goofy little games that you might not have ever heard of, and Fox will be on Court Reporter duty. So a day of fun, and since we can’t go out and party like we used to, we can party at home and still be together!

Kitties is almost HERE!
Posted 5 years agoOkay guys, only a few days left until you folks are subjected to 48 (maybe more) hours of fun, prizes, and most of all charity! As I type this we’re already halfway to goal! Remember, October 24-25 starting at the strike of Saturday o’clock here in the Eastern timezone. Eagle will be taking over for me Saturday afternoon while I rest, and Uriel will take the reins Sunday afternoon for multiplayer (slots still available here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38643351/ ) If you’re worried about not being good at either of the games, I have asked Witchiebunny to be on hand to help folks along. Those of you who want to do bomb disposal with me in Keep Talking I’ll schedule individual times with you.
This will be the first year I stream to Twitch as well as Tigerdile. So if Tigerdile has given you problems in the past? Or you hate the lag on Twitch? You have options!

It’s slightly less than a month to go now, so I thought I’d give you guys an update on Gaming for Kitties.
Thanks to RadioPete we have made it to the 3K goal well before the deadline of October 22, so the excursion to the dinosaur park is a go and we will make sure everyone knows the fun that was had by all.
Remember if we make 10k during the Marathon the gotcha movie this year Fox (and the pit crew) will be forced to watch is CATS. Yes, the bad one. The recent one.

And those of you who stuck it out to read all the way? The very special thing to look out for during this marathon. Remember last year when I got Steve Blum and Sylvester McCoy to give us video messages to play to thank our staff? Well this year I have a WHOLE LOT MORE, including Grammy award winning musicians, 1980’s icons, voice actors, Broadway stars, and some faces you might recall from your favorite movies! As we hit donation goals, I will be releasing these messages as we go along. They’re wonderful little gems, each and every one.

We’re going to have our biggest pit crew yet (while observing all Covid precautions) and I have even gotten some celebrity messages whom I can’t mention by name lest I spoil the surprise for Fox, but one played a demigod, another who has starred in 80+ movies, a musician that has sold millions of copies of his albums, a broadway and film star, and a few voice actors to boot. I have a surprise gotcha finale celebrity endorsement but I will need help getting that one.
Which leads me to the other things. If you would like to contribute in ways other than donating to the marathon itself, I wouldn’t mind help with funds to keep the pit crew fed and to help get the last celebrity cameos. I can manage on my own, but some help would be appreciated and would make my wallet a little less strained. If we can make 3K BEFORE October 22nd we will drag Fox to a dinosaur park with very inaccurate dinosaur models. As of right now, we’re a little under two thirds of the way there.
