Moooooore Computer Updates
General | Posted 11 years agoIt's never a good sign when the repairman says "Boy, we were getting a lot of errors!"
Please note that I am giving these updates for the sake of transparency, not because I want someone to come and tell me how to do basic computer repair that I fully know how to do already or to give me the riot act regarding how I handled my computer problems. I can computer, I have built computers, I know what I'm doing.
Also, if you tell me that I have too much computer than I need, I will block you. I had people tell me I didn't need 12 gigs of RAM during my last upgrade and I assure you that I use every bit of it. I am thinking of eventually stuffing 32 gigs of RAM into it out of spite just because someone told me I'd never use twelve. (The item is here if anyone has $300 to burn: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ.....82E16820231569 )
Saying that, I have had a string of bad luck from my internet breaking in the midst of it to some of the parts being bad to several other issues. I am in the home stretch. but not there yet,
The latest thing is that the motherboard is giving a lot of errors. They're not sure if my copy of windows is damaged or if the motherboard is. I know that my previous repairman reinstalled Windows and might have broken something in the process, but there also might be something damaged with the motherboard as well. They're working out what to do as we speak, but unless they pull a miracle out of their faces, they won't have it finished in time for the stream tonight. So the usual weekly dual stream with Jonas is going to be delayed again.
I don't know if I'll have it by Friday either, although I hope they can get it going before then. I'll continue to keep you posted.
ADDENDUM: Repairman called and said it's the motherboard. I bought it at the store that is conducting the repairs, so I don't have to buy a new one. I'll just be paying the repair fee. Here's hoping it isn't going to be too insane. He also says it might be finished by tonight! Because of this I will not be around to stream as I need to be ready to dash out and pick up my box.

Reminder of More downtime
General | Posted 11 years agoJust a note. I'm taking my computer in for more work on Monday, so I could be down for a couple of days, or the whole week. I don't know how busy they're going to be at the shop. If there is a stream on Monday it will be a gamestream. And if I'm unable to do the dual stream on Wednesday I'll keep you updated.
Here's hoping for a quick resolution.

Updates and Weekend Stream
General | Posted 11 years agoFirstly and probably most importantly, my computer is back up to a point where I can stream... sort of.
The onboard sound is broken, and I think that one of the PCI slots is damaged as well. The problem is that replacing a motherboard means basically taking the whole thing apart and putting it back together again, which is going to cost me at least a day or so in repair time. Part of me wants to say "Heck with it, it works, don't mess with it" but I also paid for this board and this system and want what I paid for. Which means I'm going to have to take it in one last time. And no, I'm not going to use the same repairman who dragged the affair out for two weeks.
I'm talking to the store where I bought it which has an on-site repair facility (Loooove Tigerdirect) and think I'm going to bring it there for the exchange. This will probably mean a little more in repair expense for me, but at this point I'm figuring I already spent what I spent, what's a little more. (I may use the opportunity to upgrade the case as well)
So I am going to stream tonight, and do a fun gamestream on Saturday. Then Monday I am taking the box back to the store. This will mean no stream on Monday, and potentially no stream on Wednesday.
I want to thank everyone again for being so patient during this time, and would once again like to apologize for all the numerous delays my computer problems have caused.

Computer: Good News and Bad News
General | Posted 11 years agoDISCLAIMER:
If the only thing you have to say is to call for my repairman's head, criticize my choices, or e-peen at me about how you would have made better choices regarding what to do in my situation, kindly keep those words to yourself.
The Good news:
I have my computer back and I am back online. I have a new motherboard, a new processor, and a stronger power supply. Internet continues to be good as well so I think I've gotten to the end of the problems on that side of things. My computer boots really quickly now and seems to run very smoothly.
The Bad News:
I am down a graphics card and the audio support on my motherboard appears to be dead. At this point I am not really feeling up to replacing anything as the last repair took practically two weeks as it was. My graphics cards were old and I was considering updating them anyway, so this looks like fate is just hurrying the process up a tad. I have an SLI setup to help me with my multiple monitors and some of the hardcore paces I put my machine through, so I am currently pricing out upgraded graphics cards and will be heading out today to get a soundcard and a graphics card. If I can find one that does SLI/Crossfire support for a reasonable price I will get more than one, otherwise I'm going to have to wait until I have the funds available to get more than one.
Another chink in this is that I /might/ have jury duty tomorrow. My fingers are crossed that my number doesn't come up, but with the luck I've had lately I kind of feel like it's inevitable.
Even if my machine is half crippled, I still intend to be around on Wednesday for the weekly dual stream with Jonas. Many thanks to Foxena for standing in for me last week.
I would also like to apologize in advance if I am curt and snappy for a little while. This whole situation has taxed me and I do not have the patience I should with people right now. Those that know me know that I do not take my bad moods out on people, but I also am having difficulty being patient and anything more than a ball of grump right now.
Hopefully this will be the end of it for awhile though. Now if you will pardon me, the Tigerdirect store is open and my wallet is lining up for a little more abuse.

Kinda Dual Stream Tonight and Updates
General | Posted 11 years agoSince it is highly unlikely I will have my machine back by the dual stream tonight Fox and I discussed what to do and we decided that I shall continue my Alan Wake game while she draws. Since she's been known to use my audio while I game it won't be that much of a change except we'll be skyping as well. You can catch it starting at 6PM EST at: http://little-tales.com/doublefox.htm
We'll be running for about six hours. I'll game whilst she comics. Both of us will have our tipjars open if anyone would like to donate. Donations for Fox will go to the comics, to me they'll go to computer repairs.
No ETA on computer returning. There have been some delays due to issues that cropped on unrelated to the computer on the repairman's side, but he got back on track today. Ideally I'll have it by tonight, realistically I'm expecting early next week.
Next week I also potentially have jury duty, so that may delay me as well. Hopefully my number won;t pop up.

I know, more updates
General | Posted 11 years agoInternet is functional once more. We have a new modem and had some maintenance done on the lines, so the internet is running better than it was before. So one problem down.
I gave my repairman the new motherboard that I exchanged out this morning and have not heard anything since. This might be a good thing in that it means he's not had any further snags. If there are, I'm probably going to be down for a few more days as we just throw our hands in the air and rebuild from step one, so any good thoughts that the new motherboard handles things are greatly welcome at this point. (Again, this will show me not to get a non ASUS board.)
I'll continue to keep you updated as I can. Although with the internet back up I CAN gamestream on Friday at the very least. Merrihop had noted that she hadn't seen me play Alan Wake, so I was thinking of starting a new game there. We shall see.
Thank you all again for being patient. Sorry for all of the trouble.

More Updates something something....
General | Posted 11 years agoBefore I say anything more I should remind folks of a policy I have. Unless I ask for technical help, please don't dump a pile of it on my head. I wrote an entry about a year ago explaining why here: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4695249/
That out of the way, here is the current state of things:
My internet has gone bad, and this might be similar to the problem I had last year. No, I do not plan to switch providers or yell at anyone. My previous provider was absolutely horrible and for the most part I'm satisfied with my service. But I also live in Florida which is a very corrosive environment and cables often suffer damage. What's been determined is that something on my end of things, be it the line or the modem or whatever, is spitting out errors. We disconnected every device from the connection and the errors were still happening, so it's not related to the computer. On the good side my download speed is okay. Bad side is that my upload speed is a quarter of what it should be. A technician will be coming by tomorrow evening or Thursday morning. (Thank you,
xendrgn for all of your tech support help, by the way! I am and will continue to be loyal to my internet provider because of people like you!)
What this means is that I might not be streaming this week. Tomorrow the usual Wednesday dual stream will be with Foxena and Jonas instead of me. There will still be chibis and cute things, but alas all I can really do is watch instead of actively participate. Perhaps next time. (Maybe Jonas can draw people looking pissed off next week in my honor)
As for the computer, I have learned that the motherboard I picked up happens to have a BIOS that does not like my processor. Apparently some will work with it, and some will not. I got (un)lucky. Although I'll say that this has done wonders for some of my sense of brand loyalty and from now on I'll continue to stick to my ASUS boards.
I am lucky enough to have a TigerDirect store near me, so tomorow the repairman will bring the board by, I'll drive up and exchange it, and hopefully I'll have my box either that evening or by Thursday.
Uriel is being a saint and letting me use his computer, but until the internet is fixed I can't even gamestream. So it's best to assume I'm going to be offline until the weekend. My apologies for all of the delays and problems this is going to cause. Unfortunately a great deal of it is out of my hands.
(Regarding the "Something is always wrong with your computer!" comments, most of my problems have been due to software or external things. My old UPS battery died, some spyware corrupted my system files and I had to rebuild, and of course there were the internet problems last year. Plus all of the problems cause by Livestream were completely out of my hands. Basically, most of my problems have been software or external issues. This is the first hardware problem I've had in awhile. I suspect that it was due to some heat damage, but I am taking measures to insure that it will not happen again.)

Computer Update
General | Posted 11 years agoNo word from the repairman as of yet. Saying that, he's a man I trust and know that he'll contact me when everything is ready. It's just taking him a bit.
I'll have it by this afternoon at the absolute earliest, so expect another gamestream tonight if I stream at all. I'll keep you updated via the usual channels.
Pardon if I am a bit difficult to contact in the meantime, my access it a little limited until I have my box back.
11:45AM Addendum:
The replacement CPU I bought appears to be defective. The repairman is bringing it by for me to exchange (which I can thankfully) and we'll go from there.
REALLY glad I have a TigerDirect physical store near me.

Computer Problems, May affect tonight's stream
General | Posted 11 years agoShort explanation, my computer finally died yesterday after I tried to coax a little more life out of it. I have purchased replacement parts but getting them installed and the whole thing set up again is costly and time consuming. I've managed most of the 'costly' part, so now I'm just on that 'time consuming' portion.
Basically I'm without my computer for a day minimum, probably a little more. I'll probably gamestream from Uriel's computer tonight if folks are interested but I don't know how things will pan out beyond that as I don't know how long repairs are going to take.
As an aside, To try and make up the money I'll probably be open to donations for drinks tonight. And if anyone is interested in buying me for a day, you need only go here for as much art or gametime as I can manage in a six hour chunk of time (Although if you ask people who I have done this for, I usually give you at least one extra hour) http://littletales.storenvy.com/pro.....-gen-for-a-day
Thank you for all your patience.

Reminder: Dual Stream this weekend!
General | Posted 11 years agoStreaming with
foxenawolf this Saturday, March 29th at 5PM EST and running until Midnight. Merrihop will be joining us for additional commentary. We'll be using Wolfwings' awesome code (Which Tanabi is working on integrating into Tigerdile soon, so anyone can dual stream with ease if everything works out)
I have heard that some people are having difficulty with the dual stream site in that the chat refuses to show up. We think we have it narrowed down to security settings in Chrome, so in a pinch you might try a new browser.
See you this weekend. (Also streaming tonight as always!)

General | Posted 12 years agoThanks for making my first Tigerdile stream a smashing success, guys! Our max number was 55 folks like the good old days. I was worried the move would cost me viewers but it turns out that a lot of the people who couldn't watch on Livestream because of the problems were able to make the move to Tigerdile with ease and expressed their joy in being able to participate in streams again.
I see little reason to go back, so I think it's safe to say Tigerdile is gong to be our new home.
I have permission to do gaming streams as long as I don't do them exclusively, and Tanabi has no problem with my preshows either. So the format will not change at all.
Thank you again, everyone!

Stream Tonight at TIGERDILE
General | Posted 12 years agoWhen you come to the stream, don't go to Livestream. Barring horrible circumstances, I will be at Tigerdile.
The address is: http://sfw.tigerdile.com/stream/littletales
You will need an account to use the chat. As this is my first official night, expect things to be a little bumpy at first but please be patient.

Writing on the Wall (Livestream Stuff)
General | Posted 12 years agoLately Livestream has gotten lagged, buggy, and at one point earlier this week it was completely nonfunctional. I have heard rumors that Livestream is going to try to use the streaming system of twitch and make it more of a system where you download lots of small video files, which results in 30-60 second lag.
Livestream has been pushing their 'new' system more and more and the classic system seems to be going to crap. I suspect it won't be long before they start to push the new livestream a lot harder and throttle the old one back even more.
When this happens, I'll be moving to Tigerdile. I'll probably start doing some experimental streams on Tigerdile soon enough. The main reason I've been so slow and hesitant to move has been that my established audience is on Livestream, but if I'm losing people because they can't use the site, then there's no point in staying.
I'll keep you updated, and when the move becomes a real official thing I'll make sure folks know. I just wanted to warn folks that it was on the horizon though.

Two Dual Streams this week
General | Posted 12 years agoTonight at 8PM EST I am streaming with
jonas who will most likely be joined by his royal battiness,
stokerbramwell. Jonas has started several really cool projects lately that I can't wait to hear him talk about including a trading posts for artists and a cool reference collection on Pinterest of popular animal photos.
The dual stream site for Jonas can be found here: http://www.jonasdrawsstuff.com/dual1.html
This Saturday I am also dual streaming with
foxenawolf. You know the drill, she draws overlord comics for donations (and a large enough donation gets you candy) and I draw more postcards and other things. The fun starts at 5PM EST on Saturday over at http://www.pholph.com/gen.html

Interesting stream tonight!
General | Posted 12 years agoFirstly, tonight I will be streaming with
jonas, so be sure and hit up the dual stream page at http://www.jonasdrawsstuff.com/dual1.html
And secondly, my webcam is bugging out on me and unless I can get my computer to talk to it properly I may end up having a digital stream tonight. Stream is still on, but you might watch me draw comics instead of cards.

Another update
General | Posted 12 years agoThank you all for the help and support during the marathon. We made more than I'd hoped and all of it will go to making sure that the Dewalt's medical needs are met and that their baby is born happy and healthy. The donation page is going to be up for a few more days so if you have any last minute donations, you still have a chance over at http://www.bit.ly/dewalts
I will be gamestreaming tonight, not to continue the marathon but because I am a bit too worn out to draw. The game will be Broken Age and if I finish it too quickly I'll be playing more of Wolf Among Us. Hope you enjoy.

NO Stream tonight as I am resting my voice.
We have hit 2K in donations, which means Arty is totally going to wear a dress. $3000 means we get a special Lets Play video with Vinci and Arty's voice actors playing a co-op game together. We have a ton of other incentives planned as well to make the marathon itself extra fun.
Fundraising stream starts at 6PM EST (Arty will still be working, but I plan to warm things up a bit)

No Art Stream Friday, Fundraising stream THIS WEEKEND
General | Posted 12 years agoMy voice is still giving me problems and I'm getting little twinges in my hands, so I've decided to take Friday off this week to try and get a little more recovery time so hopefully I won't break anything or go into the fundraising stream with a crap voice.
Bidding for gaming slots are still open here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12659024 Bidding ends midnight EST on Friday.
When the stream starts on Saturday we will open up incentives for Arty and I to down shots when we get a donation for it. And remember, if we hit 2K Arty will go full drag including a dress, heels, makeup, and a wig and belt out 'Let it Go' from Frozen. If we hit 3K, the voice actors for Vinci and Arty will record a lets play video in character. To hear the voice actors in action, go here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7158667/
We have also thrown in a one shot donation incentive. There is only one of these, but there need be only one. Which is, if someone contributes $200 for the incentive, Foxenawolf will watch 'Love Never Dies' during one of her art streams. Love Never Dies is the sequel to Phantom of the Opera that Fox has refused to acknowledge the existence of at all and that most fans of Phantom cringe at the very mention of. Well, if someone snatches it up, you'll get to hear her suffer through it for the full two hour duration. This is like someone making me play Mario Brothers with one of my hands tied behind my back. If one of you brave souls wish to claim this incentive, go here: https://fundrazr.com/perks/04qoa
(P.S. Don't ask how I got her to do it. >.>)
The gamestream will tentatively start at 6PM EST and run for at least 24 hours. If we hit our goal of 3K we'll extend it.

DeWalt Fundraiser Stream Feb 8-9!
General | Posted 12 years agoThis week is going to be interesting. I'm working with Vinci and Arty and we're coming up with all sorts of fun things for this weekend. We hit our first goal of $1000 already, which means I will be donning the Kigurumi again and this time there will be photographic evidence. If we hit $2000, Arty will dress in drag and sing "Let it Go" from Frozen, this will include heels and fake boobs. Yes, really. If we hit 3K we'll work on a video where the voice actors for Vinci and Arty will play Borderlands 2 as the characters. (And as they are well versed on said characters, I assure you that it will be comedy gold. Personally my money is on Vinci shooting Arty in the ass at least once.) The video will be put up on Youtube for anyone to watch at their leisure.
We're discussing other rewards like having Valentine do a recording of 'Happy Birthday' for you or a friend of your choice and offering custom Vinci and Arty ringtones (Imagine Arty going "Phoooooooooone!" every time your phone rings) or Vinci and Arty on your TomTom GPS telling you where to drive.
To hear the voice actors in action, go here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7158667/
The top donor will receive original art from both Vinci and I, and anyone who donates (and provides a way to contacting them) will be entered for a random chance to win some Vinci originals.
We're also going to be taking shots during the marathon. For $25 I will drink a shot of alcohol or Arty will drink a "Flaming Gilroy Suicide Shot" which is a shotglass full of Sriracha sauce and a full raw clove of garlic. For $50 we both will take a shot.
We have a ton more incentive ideas, but that's the status of them at this very moment.
For the game itself, I was thinking of starting off with Injustice, Gods Among Us as a warmup, also some Multiplayer of Dead Space 3 with either Arty or Sirfie, perhaps some Portal 2 Co-Op, and I've been nudging Arty to play Stanley Parable for you guys. We're open for suggestions, but keep in mind that not all games stream well so if we decide not to play one it might be because it doesn't work.
Also, we will be re-purposing the dual stream page for this, which means you can switch between my audio and his for multiplayer depending on who you want to hear, but you can see it all from both our perspectives.
And finally, the big thing...
There will, of course, be multiplayer. Two Payday 2 streams and a L4D2 Vs Match. The slots in them are going to be auctioned off here starting Monday much in the same manner of a YCH auction. Six slots for L4D2, and four for Payday 2, you'll be one of two people playing in two different matches with Arty and I. If you win, just donate your winnings to the donation site instead of paying us directly (although if the latter is easier we can work with you) and you'll get your spot. The auction starts on Monday and ends on Friday!
For more details please visit the donation site at http://www.bit.ly/dewalts

Dual Stream with Fox and CHARITY GAMING STREAM!!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoSaturday, Feb 1st the dual streams with Foxena resume. I work on whatevers, and she draws Overlord comics. It starts at 5PM EST at http://www.pholph.com/gen.html
The second announcement is a bit more serious. Many of you know Vinci and Arty either through Vinci's art or through seeing them in my channel. They were kind enough to let me into their house after FC to crash one night and spend time with their amazing family. Vinci is currently going through a high risk pregnancy and their medical bills are starting to get overwhelming.
To help them raise money for their bills, I have offered to run a charity gaming stream with Arty. We're working out details still, but we'll be doing stuff like auctioning off slots in a L4D2 vs. match as well as slots in Artemis Bridge Simulator. I have a vent server so in a pinch we can make use of that for communication.
We are also working up ideas for donation incentives. If we make $1000 before the stream itself, I will don the Kigurumi again, and this time there will be PHOTOS (We're already a quarter of the way there, BTW!). We are also considering downing shots for every $25 donation. Arty is going to set up some 'Gilroy Death Shots' which consist of Sriracha and a clove of garlic, and I'll have my own set up. I'll provide more details as we work them up this week.
But if you want to donate or get more info... go here: http://www.bit.ly/dewalts

For the New Watchers
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm resuming my livestreams tonight.
Now, lots of people tell me that they hate Livestreams, but my stream is one of the ones that break the mold. Many people who hate livestreams tell me that mine is the exception. I have a thriving community and get 40-60 people a night. My channel is active, friendly, and I keep away the crazy people who often make coming into a new livestream kind of awkward or annoying. I keep an active dialog with the channel as I work, and I do my best to be entertaining.
I've been streaming for over three years now and have developed a routine and a schedule. My streams start at 8PM EST M-W-F. BUT.... if you show up early (15-30 minutes or so) you get to catch the preshow, which are videos I've collected and play for fun. So even though the streams start at 8PM, if you show up at 7:30 you can catch some fun videos.
I stream traditional art and have put a lot of time into making sure you see the art as clearly as possible as well as making sure my music and my voice can be heard clearly as well. And yes, I will talk to you. The whole point of livestreams is the interactive angle, and I do everything I can to be interactive. I draw in small format, so you can see an image from start to finish within 1-2 hours. Occasionally I will also do fun dual streams with other artists on a special page set up by the amazing Arty. I've dual streamed with
flinters,
foxenawolf,
jonas,
mountaingoat and the ever vibrant
vincinicolaides.
And on the occasions where I don't draw, I game. When I game I keep up a fun banter as well to the point that my gaming streams and marathons have become legendary. Last October I raised $6000 for charity by game streaming, if that tells you anything. Mostly I make a point of doing more than just complaining and often make silly remarks and set myself up as the butt of the joke. Occasionally I'll prank the stream by downloading a mod and not telling anyone, for example I have installed a MLP mod in Skyrim that changed the horses and pretended nothing was different. Another time I made the chickens fifty feet tall.
The point is, my streams are fun, interactive, and my community is amazing. And yes, we are most assuredly a community, one that is welcome to newcomers and very friendly.
I post announcements here when I stream, but we also have a community with almost 250 members on Steam that will give you a popup when a stream starts. There is no other spam if you join, although it's a great place to get in touch with other Little Tales folks for games and such. You can join the community here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Little-Tales
The stream is at http://www.livestream.com/littletales and I hope to see you there!
As an additional aside, there is no requirement to be social and lurking is allowed! In fact many people use me as a sort of radio show while they do work around the house. So if you want to just quietly lurk and listen, that's perfectly fine!

FC Thank Yous and Other Stuffs
General | Posted 12 years agoBefore I start anything I want to give out my thank yous for all the help at FC. Normally people give them at the end of something, but I think the people who helped me out deserve to have them at the beginning.
Thank you Shadowfox for your help with setup and breakdown and everything in between. Even sick you were an amazing help and both Fox and I could not have managed as well as we did without your help. My only regret is that we did not catch that plague rat who gave you the sick so we could light them on fire.
And many similar thanks to Sirfox for also helping Fox and I lug our stuff around. The man is also a master at luggage tetris and helped me pack my stuff away so I could ship the unsold books and other items off. Also thanks to the Dewalt family for letting me stay the night, the wonderful company and conversation, and letting me post pictures of their cats in compromising positions to my twitter feed.
Many MANY thanks to all of the people who brought me snacks and water during the con (You too Xenrik!) and to Wolfwings for breakfast and help with Artshow breakdown.
Also thank you Tugrik for the absolutely stunning tour of Southern Cali and the amazing trip to the Stinking Rose (A garlic themed restaurant in SanFran). I have since learned to reproduce that garlic appetizer we had and Uriel loves it.
Now then...
I plan to resume streams on Monday, but forgive me if I am slow or out of it. I did not catch con crud but the complete lack of humidity did a number on my lungs and hauling around 100lbs of gear wore me out. So it isn't that I'm sick, I'm just recovering from going to 100% humidity to 0% for a week as well as overwork, hauling heavy loads, and lack of sleep. I was also stupid and forgot to wear my brace and my thumb is still sore from it. This is why you haven't seen much from me as typing also hurts my hand and I've basically been spoiling it to help it heal.
All in all FC was a wonderful convention. I'm still considering whether or not to go next year, but I do want to start doing more than Megaplex. So we shall see.
Still, good to be home and good to start to get back into the old groove. I missed you all!

Further Confusion!
General | Posted 12 years agoAs a reminder, I will be at Further Confusion this coming weekend, which means if you need to contact me, don't expect a reply until late next week as I will either be preparing, at the con, or recovering. I will have SOME email access, but nothing that will allow me to do more than check, give quick replies, and get back to whatever I was doing. This is a 3000 mile trip for me, so I can't exactly access a lot of my stuff while I'm away.
Those of you attending the con, check out this map: http://www.furtherconfusion.org/201.....alers_map.html
I'm at table 34 between the FBA table and Foxena.
I will have badges, books, and other things to sell. If you've never met me I'm short, tubby, medium-length red hair, and I wear glasses.
There's the meme going around but all you really need to know are the following basics:
If you are nervous about meeting me, tell me. I will do everything I can to make it comfortable for you. Many people will attest that I am very good at helping most people over their nervousness.
My arms are scarred up and I usually try to cover them with armwarmers or long sleeves. If you catch a glimpse please don't make a huge deal out of it. I had a bad reaction to some sulfa antibiotics and my skin has not quite been the same since, so I scratch and scar easily. I'm a bit self conscious about it, so I'd rather not have it brought to my attention.
I do not drink alcohol on a casual basis and prefer to do it privately in my dwelling when I do, which means that you probably won't be able to take me for drinks or a bawdy room party where people are drinking. And if you play the 'Gen, you just haven't had the RIGHT alcohol' game with me you will very quickly start to meef me off.
Conventions are work for me. I have printing costs, table fees, and other expenses I need to make to be able to break even. This means that more than likely I will not be available to hang out after the dealer's den closes because I have work to do. It also means I might ask you to step aside for customers if you're in front of my table for an extended period of time. I have heard rumors of people who harass artists at cons by extended loitering, so I'm very likely to try and nudge you on your way if you are an active hindrance to my sales.
Normally I have a 'you can come and sit behind my table if you want' policy, but not this year at FC. I don't have as much space nor do I have an easy to access table and I don't want to bother the people that you would have to bump past to get there, so unless you're helping me, you're not allowed back there with me.
My hotel room is not a social hub, and I will probably have a ton of work to do Friday and Saturday night, so don't expect me to be very outgoing or social those nights or to let someone hang out in there when I have work to do. (sometimes I try to get a quick nap in when the DD closes just to I can be refreshed enough to catch up on commissions that night, so there's a good chance I'll just be going there and crashing.)
This really shouldn't even need to be said, but I am married and monogamous, so don't even try. Besides, I'll probably be clueless to any flirting anyway.
Saying all that though, I will try to be friendly to everyone who wants to come up and say hello. Unless you are actively trying to annoy me, you won't, I promise.
