As I'm sure many of you have noticed already my website dancingfoxstudios.com is no longer there. The reason for this is that I'm unemployed and broke and can't afford the domain name or hosting any longer. It's likely to stay gone until I can find a new job and even then I'm not sure I'll be reviving it.

For all of you who have been asking about the next update for Consume I have some bad news. I haven't had much time to work on it. As you're probably aware I quit my job back in January, well I've got a new one now and it's suffering from the same main issue as the last. Namely that I'm expected to be working 60+ hours a week. Since I need the money, I don't have much choice but to do it.

I've also acquired more non-work responsibilities now that I'm living in a house rather then a truck which cuts into the time I have for working on the game even more. So there is progress being made, but it's so slow that it's looking like I'll be lucky to get an update out a month, nevermind the weekly builds I was doing before.

Now you can help with this, if you pop over to my patreon page and toss a few bucks towards me you can help me work less and write smut more. Which I think everyone will agree is a good thing.

So I got myself a new computer, and just in time too as my old one is acting weird. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to wipe it to get it working again. The bad news is I can't get the flash debugger working correctly on my new machine. I have no idea why it's not working right, it just isn't. So until I can get either my old machine working again or flash working correctly I'm not going to be able to do much on Consume.

So I finally got around to thinking up a logo for the club, if there's anyone out there who'd like to draw the logo out for me I'd happily add it to the game. (Assuming I can figure out how to get flash to display images.)

Also, I'm still offering cameo slots, those of you who have already sent in characters I'm still looking for places to put you.

So on the one hand, I've got a ton of ideas for this game that I want to do. But I don't have the framework to do what I want, so I have to build that first. So while I'm learning a lot about both programming and ActionScript I'm also getting bored and frustrated. Setting myself a weekly deadline has helped keep me moving towards finishing the thing. And all the messages and favs keeps me interested in it too.

I dunno, It's just that I really want to have these ideas out there and working, not be fiddling around with numbers trying to get a fair and fun combat system in place. I mean, one of the ideas is for you to be conducting an interview, with plenty of chances to eat the applicants. ;)

It seems there is interest. Cool. More then I'd thought there might be even. Better.

So here's the deal, if you'd like to appear in the game send me a note with the information below and I'll work you in somewhere. I make no promises about how soon or even if you'll make it in however. I'm also going to have to say no to any copyrighted characters or variants of them. I personally don't have issues with pokemon/digimon/sonic or such, but I don't want to have to deal with any potential headaches.

(If you want my personal recommendation, create an original character for this. Something that isn't going to be used elsewhere. You don't have to by any means.)

Here's what I need; send me a note with this in it:

Character Name.
Species. (Doesn't need to be one of the ones in the game.)
Gender. (If it's something other then male/female/herm let me know what bits your character has)
Pred/Prey and if they're willing or unwilling.
A short description. (Should be one to two paragraphs and cover the character's physical appearance.)
If you'd like your character to talk you should also include some dialog. I may give some more to say as the need arises and a sample of the character's voice should help me keep new lines 'in character'

So I'm working on getting the gym in play and I've reached a certain part of the game and I'm going to need a character to get eaten. I know a number of you keep asking me about playing prey (and that's in the works, don't worry. I'll work on it after the shop is in) but I was wondering if there would be any interest in having a character of yours appear as an NPC in the game?

I'm working on fixing all the things I broke in the last update, sorry about that.

Anyway, I've gotten a few questions from people and figured I'd just put up a journal with the answers rather then responding to each one separately. Here goes.

Will there be an option for the player to be eaten?
Yes. Though it's a tad more complex then just sitting down to write it. My original idea for this game was pred-only and that's pretty much how it's being built still. However I have a few ideas on how to make it possible to play as prey, but they require the quest system to be working before I can do them. And I'm still trying to get the combat system to behave. So it'll be a little bit.

Will there be [insert type of vore]?
Probably. However, just like the prey path it's going to need the quest system to make work.

Will there be [insert species]?
Yes. However, it's not as easy as you'd like. There's a list 36 elements long that change for each species. That's not the bad part though, what's tricky is if I need to change how something works in the characters (and I have a couple times now) then I have to go back and change each of the species. So I'm holding off on expanding the list until I'm sure I'm not going to be needing to change anything else.

Will you add graphics/Can I make graphics for your game?
I have zero artistic ability, as demonstrated by the UI in Consume. I've tried to figure out how to make flash display images and it just gives errors. So if someone knows how to get ActionScript to display images, and someone wants to make them, then sure. I'll put them in.

Can I write scenes?
Yes. Write it up and send it to me, either note or email. If I can get it in the game I'll do so and let you know (and yes you will be credited with writing it in game.) You can also write characters if you'd like, though that's going to be a little more involved, so ask first and I'll send you the details on it. Unless there's a lot of interest then I'll post another journal.

Can I pay your for your wonderful fetish game?

So I've discovered that I'm really not very good at writing scat. Not suprising really as it's not really something I'm terribly fond of. However I know it's a fairly popular thing out there so it's being included in Consume. The problem is that I can't actually write the scenes. So if someone were to want to write them for me and send them to me, I'll happily add your work to the game.

And I'm still planning on having blackjack in the game...
