I recently just got back from a six day long trip to Vancouver. Despite living on the island, I have never actually been to the big city. So it was something I was both nervous, and excited to experience. I was there for medical reasons to take long assessments, which was very exhausting. As someone who has lived their life in a small town all their life, Vancouver is very overwhelming. When you are used to having so little choice for things such as restaurants, night life, stores in general, you can become easily overwhelmed by how much more choices you have. I will say the best part of my trip was being able to experience so many good places to eat I now sorely miss. Especially a spot that serves the best poutine ever!
The bad part however, I was not able to do as much exploring as I wanted. The weather was not suited for going far on foot, and due to some finance issues and people I counted on not being around to show me around, I had to cut back on my taxi trips outside what was covered for me. I made the mistake of visiting Chinatown, since I thought it would be nice to experience some foreign culture for a change. Get to explore hidden shops with ultra exclusive nick-knacks, hang out at the street vendors, and meet new exciting people. That could not be any further from the truth. When I arrived, it was nothing but the most hostile human wasteland I have ever seen. It looked like a post apocalyptic scene out of a movie.
Nothing but homeless junkies and schizo people shambling about like zombies, arguing with themselves and giving me the side eye. Entire streets were filled with groups of them clogging up the roads that I avoided. The further deeper I went, the worse it got. All the shops I found ranged from cell phone repairs, women's support centres, insurance agencies, to just low end stores you could find anywhere else. Anything authentically chinese I was looking for was either absent, or locked up behind iron bars and dead bolted doors. Had I known, Gastown was a much better spot to look around that was nearby I should have gone to. The taxi driver who picked me up warned me of how dangerous that place can be. Especially at night. That it has regular stabbings, despite a heavy police presence.
The hotel I stayed at was nice. Sort of. It came with a nice kitchenette and a washer/dryer, with a nice view of the city. Unfortunately that was soured by the constant noise of police sirens, people shouting from the streets, and occasional gun fire popping off. Their was also a fire alarm the hotel decided to spring on everyone without warning which wasn't pleasant. The elevator also broke in the middle of this alarm. One of the tenants next to me was a woman bound in a wheelchair who would have been essentially trapped had this been a real alarm. The guests were rather pissed off about this.
Overall a mixed bag trip. I wish I could have stayed longer and splashed out more money, but I suppose theirs always next time.

As a Canadian I have watched Trump and his cult of personality wreak havoc on America and be nothing but disrespectful on the world stage to other countries. Now he has made things personal to try and tank our economy and threaten us with annexation. Anyone who follows this piece of shit get the fuck away from me. In a double whammy fuck you right out the gate for 2025, I been both banned(for a month) from DA and my store on Etsy. Just for drawing Sonic characters, my work is flagged as 'under age material'. I don't know what kind of mental illness people suffer when they see a cartoon character with a pair of tits on it, and immediately think right away this promotes some kind of pedo material. I try to reason with Etsy to please restore my shop, since its become a major source of income for me to rely on for business. They absolutely refused. I try to look for other artistic outlets, and it all seems to fall under the same totalitarian laws of porn art being illegal to sell.
I am just so sick of this shit. I'm just a guy who draws stuff.

Despite me fighting tooth and nail, I never got a proper response over what got my shop shut down initially, and my emails ignored after I refused to take no for an answer. Refusing to give up, and seeing how people appreciated what I do, I made a new store which I hope people can find.

My Etsy account got taken down out of nowhere just as I had started to pick up more sales selling prints recently. I mainly just post a lot of my Sonic work up on there to sell. A bit of ecchi content. My art was flagged as "under age content" and now its frozen. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to make another account there if my IP was flagged.
I filed an appeal which will take 2 weeks to process, but more than likely it will be denied....

I was attacked at my job.
I work in the hospital as a room cleaner. I was changing the garbage in one room, when an old man came up and raised his metal cane over his head and struck me in the side of the temple and jaw. Him screaming I was going through his things. I got a concussion from it. I feel a constant swish of vertigo, nausea, and pounding headaches that go in and out.

There are supposed to be safety protocols in place for hostile people, and I was left alone while being trained by my partner and was not warned by any of the staff. I would like to just use this opportunity to quit this job, but their is nothing better I can transition to at the moment...

Losing that large sum of money hurt me greatly. I had to hide such a crisis from my family since I would be met only with outrage, anger, shame, and disappointment over being so ignorant and foolish. I been harassed constantly lately by scammers popping up trying to get to me that I been avoiding. Almost fell for another one, but changed my card immediately.
During all this my mother has been slowly recuperating from a fall that broke a bone in her back. My home life has been nothing but tense, and revealing my personal woes would only make things worse for everyone.
I've just mostly kept my head down working on commissions for people that has kept me distracted.

...has been one of the longest and most tiring stretches.
The most major thing that happened was my oldest brother passed away. He died on the 4th of a heart attack from heavy drinking and cocaine. Me and my family have been reeling through the stages of grief while having to attend to his things. Most of his valuables were stolen by burglars breaking into his home, with the local cops not giving a shit about looking into things. They were supposed to find his cat who was all alone in the house and had to endure being in a small confined space with his corpse. Thankfully she was found by some workers who put her in the SPCA.
Work has been stressful due to having to be trained under toxic people who talk down to me like I am a child, and have no patience with me if I don't immediately get something after the first day. Also my phone broke.
Its sapped a lot of my energy to want to draw, but I have commissions I owe, and a Patreon to manage. So I have no choice but to keep chugging along...

Since FA is now implementing more and more restrictive rules for Sonic characters and shortstacks I've decided....

Well FA Team managed to find some rather obscure pieces in my gallery to ban me with. One was a photo showing off some Michiyoshi doujins. Nothing actually shown on the cover that was rule breaking. Due to the rising costs of everything, gas, living expenses, and my current job not providing me with enough hours to have EI I am making far less than I have before despite working full time.
