Now, first things first, I HAVE read the comics. & I still prefer the comics to the movie. But given how much the movie had to get in there... it's not bad. Is it great? No. But is it worth seeing in theaters? Hellz yeah!

The Good: The fight scenes. The effects were great, and they really did a good job of having a comic book vibe to the fights without overdoing it. & just about every "boss" had really sick fights, whether with their fists or with the power of rock. Heck, the battle of Scott vs Patel, after Scott counters, half the room in the back of the theater started clapping, it was that awesome. The style throughout the movie is great too and is definitely a big fangasm for nerds.

The humor. They kept the funny that is Scott and all the other characters from the comics and slapped them well onto film. Not much to be said about that, it's just funny. Oh, and The Punisher is in this film. No, I'm not kidding.

The Bad: The pacing. The movie goes way too fast for it's own good. It doesn't ruin it, but everything seems to take place in a few days while in the comic it takes MONTHS. & really there's hardly any moments where the characters slow down and just hang or something. It also gets worse after about half the film is over, then it gets even faster.

Ramona. Now, again in the comics, she's actually likeable and doesn't come across as this mellow chick. She has personality. In the movie... she really doesn't have much. I really wish they could've explored her more.

There's some other stuff I didn't like, but this is a movie so I understand somethings needed to get cut or fooled around with. I won't be buying this movie when it releases to DVD, but I'm glad I spent the money to see it in theaters.

P.S. Michael Cera actually did well in this film. Usually I don't like him, but he did fine here.

Sorry I haven't uploaded anything in months. School & work has got me pretty occupied,along with going to the gym and building when I actually do have some free time. I still can't upload anything since I have yet to buy a scanner. Hopefully by next month I'll have one and I can finally start putting stuff up, mainly sketchwork and designs. I might dabble a little with some paint.net program use if I can learn enough of it's abilities, but I won't promise anything :P

So, there ya go. Just a quick update. I'm still alive, and I'm still watching and favorite-ing stuff as I go. :3

Just seems like the artists I'm watching have REALLY slowed the fuck down as far as uploading art is concerned. It's like, where'd you all go? To a new site or something? Should I be expecting art from you here? D:

Well for those of you still watching me (btw, I appreciate it) I have to inform the lot of you that I can't upload any drawings here, at least not until I get a new scanner. My current scanner, a Canoscan Lide 30 still technically works, but since I bought a new computer with Windows 7 (which is awesome!), my scanner isn't compatible with the OS. On top of that, it doesn't look like Canon is going to be updating their drivers since my scanner is also not compatible the older Vista os.

In short: Until I buy a new scanner, the only thing you guys/gals will be seeing from me will be photos :(

Well I saw 9 today, and I'm sure a lot of you have seen the commercials. Weird doll like creatures, crazy mechanical ones, and some rock in the background all while the words "This ain't your little brothers film" or something like that. All looks interesting... but is it?

Some of you should know the plot simply from the commercials by now: Robots have killed off the human race, and the 9 creations of one scientist are all that's left. Now, in most movies you'd expect some sort of plot twist. But that isn't the case here. Everything is very straight forward and bare bones. The plot you're given from the beginning is the same until the end, and that's a downer because I was expecting more from the looks they had for the character design and the world itself.

Now usually I don't mind simple plots so long as the characters are engaging, but sadly 9 fails here too. Most of them you don't develop any feelings for, and a couple in particular you actually hate, wondering why 9 (the character) defends them. Maybe he's just dumb, or maybe he's supposed to be the super understanding fellow, but they never get the reasoning across.

As far as the visuals of the film, they're interesting, but besides the "Fellowship of the 9" everything looks very... unimagnitive. & really, 50% of the action is explosions.

So overall the film is okay, but it reeks of the well known phrase "Style over substance." There's so much focus on the visual quality that any story or personality is damn near ignored. If you've seen the commercials, just watch them again a few times and you will have seen the better parts of the movie.

1 and 1/2 out of four stars.

Hola amigos (& people I don't know)

Been a while to say the least. I've been so busy with work and school and just living that I haven't given much time to drawing as much as I'd like to :( I'm not even sure if I can draw basic characters anymore, much less anything else. I'm not even sure why, I just haven't felt like drawing much... maybe a lack of ideas, I'm not sure.

Well after midterms, in about 2 weeks, I'm hoping I can force myself out of this rut and start drawing again. & to those still watching me, I appreciate it.

Once again, sorry I haven't uploaded anything lately. Lately, work and my summer bio class has been keeping me busy enough so I haven't felt like drawing so much. Gotta let my head rest after that crap.

Anywho, thing's are going okay. A friend at work is thinking of leaving, which sucks cuz she's one of the coolest people I've met, but I can understand her wanting to leave (working at the same place for two years and getting paid less than she should be.) It's kind of like one scene in "The Shawshank Redemption" when Red says something like 'Your hear soars that your friend is out of the hell and having a better time, but at the same time the place you are at seems all the less pleasent when they're gone.'

I've been doing a little drawing, but it's not really character related. More tattoo related. I've already got one of my designs on my leg, and I plan on getting my next design (which is already sketched out) put on my arm. Just gonna wait until around next month to have it done. I might upload a few of my tat designs, but probably just ones I don't plan on getting myself. I don't like the idea of someone taking one of my tattoos and getting it done on themselves even though I have it done on myself already, if that makes sense.

Sorry that I haven't uploaded or updated anything in a while watchers, I've just been a bit busy with work and school. That and nothing's really hit me as far as what to draw next. Oh well, hopefully it won't be too long till I upload something.

Well, since I went to work this morning only to come back home since no one was there (wtf) I thought I'd make a quick little update.

I haven't uploaded much in the past few days, mainly cuz my classes are having their midterms in the new couple of weeks, so I've been busy making sure I've got everything I need for my art classes and studying up for my history class.

Hopefully if I can find the time, I'll have something uploaded this weekend. So thar!

Geez do I feel rusty... which is weird cuz the two most recent pics I put up are probably a couple of my best drawings, which is kinda sad in a way >.>

& yes, I know I haven't updated in a while. Lately I've just been busy with work and getting ready for school later this week. That and I'm drawing more tat designs than I am anime or furry stuff, but we'll see.

I'm thinking of re-installing my scanner (I removed it since at the time I needed the desk space) and actually uploading SOMETHING, maybe install it tomorrow or later tonight.

But yeah, I'm still here >.>

Yep, it's been a while since my last update, and it's obviously shown. Haven't felt the urge to draw and upload much ;-; I guess a factor of it might be due to the fact that I got a part-time job and perhaps the fact that I just don't feel inspired to draw anything anymore. I mean, I still draw, but I'm not really doing anything with them that makes them... standout I suppose, or make itself at least a li'l different from the other artists.

Maybe I'm just in a rut... who knows. Anywho, hopefully I'll have something worth uploading by the end of next week at the latest so then all those watching me actually have something worth watching over rather than just an account being unused.

So that means I'm back. I'm gonna start my user stuff here all over again, ismply cuz I haven't uploaded any art in a while. I'll be uploading some stuff soon though. Btw, I'm an anthro/anime artist, so if you don't like that stuff, mine as well go :P
