Creating a Fursona You Want To Keep?? (HELP IS WANTED!)

I have a fursona that I love, but I feel she isnt me!
So. I want to create a fursona that I love that is me, and that preferably is not like every other fursona out there! Don't get me wrong, I adore wolves, foxes, and dogs! But I don't want to be just another canine in the community!
I'd love to be different and have a fursona that isn't necessarily a dog.
Maybe a badger, or a bobcat?
I dunno!
Could you guys suggest some tips to creating my fursona?? The one that will last??
