PLEASE READ!!! I'm in need of guidance >.<
Posted 13 years agoSo, here's my dilemma. For starters, I'm currently living with my parents and have been for the last few years since I've had to move back home. Anyways, on Sunday, my dad and I had a big blowup over who does what with the laundry (which is is only real job around the house). Now I know this may seem trivial but there is reason behind it. For years, this man has pawned off nearly everything he has to do around the house onto me. Now, if I wasn't paying anything in rent or something, I could understand taking on the work in lue of payment but that's not the case. I pay rent, I pay for my personal bills, food, gas, etc. in other words, I pay my way. He's just a lazy fuck who will take any chance to not do anything but drink beer and watch tv.
So anyways, we had a big fight, he kicked me out for the night and basically told me to pack my shit and leave for good. Well, my mom smoothed it over enough for me to come back home but my dad and I haven't spoken a single word to each other other than needed.
Ever since that night, there has been a heavy air of hostility in the house and I can't take it anymore. I must get out of that house. It's no longer a home. But here's my problem. I have no where to go in my area. All my friends either don't have the space for me or are such douchbags that they won't give up the space. So I'm left with two options.
1. Move down to Texas to move in with my mate.
2. Find a studio apt and tough it out till my mate can move up to me.
With moving down to Texas means I have to start over completely. I have never lived outside the SE Wisconsin area. Also, I have to leave my job which took me a long time to find a job I like. Also, I have never lived with someone whom I'm romantically involved with. So this whole situation is incredably frightening to me but at the same time it could be just what I need.
The other option is to stay here and get a studio apt (cause it's all i can afford on my own) and hold tight till my mate can come up here which was our original plan. But I know what studio apts are like around here and they are FUCKING RATHOLES!!! I should know, I work on enough of them.
But all in all, the only things keeping me in Wisconsin is a decent job, my best friend and my stained glass store. Other than that, there ain't much else.
So what I ask all of you is to not tell me what to do but more what would you do? I just need some unbiased opinions right now.
Also, to all whom I promised badges to, they are on indefinite hold till I figure out what the hell I'm gonna do.

So no one wanted a free badge?
Posted 13 years agoSo, the view for the kiriban has come and passed and no one has stepped forward to tell me they won it. I'm sad, I truly am. That just shows me that my art goes unappreciated. I mean come on! It's a free piece!!! Even if it sucks, it's still free. I've seen bad artists doing kiribans and people jump on it just cause it's free art.
(facepalms and shakes head) does anybody even read my journals?...Why do I even bother?
I don't know, maybe I'm just being paranoid. I get like that sometimes. So if anybody does read this, please give me some sort of feedback. Even if it's "shut up you egotistical, attention craving f*#%wad." cause I sort of am at this point. =P

1 view away for the Kiriban!!!
Posted 13 years agoCome who wants it?!
1000 view kiriban!!! Please read thru...
Posted 13 years ago...or at least scroll down to the rules. =P
So here's the skinny. I originally wasn't going to do the kiriban because I wanted to keep my upcoming project under wraps until it was done. I've decided against that. I mean, how could I miss out on my first kiriban? So here it is, my upcoming project.
I've decided to take on making stained glass badges. I currently have six on the line for when I do this. The winner of the kiriban will be the seventh slot. Now these will be 5"X4" approximately in size, head shot only and if I can work it out, I'll be adding the name of the character on each badge. Larger names will need to be shortened.
Also, please keep in mind that this is an experiment to see if badges in glass are even possible (physically and financially). So, until this batch is done, I don't know if I'll take more coms for them.
And please keep this in mind, I will not be starting them for awhile cause...well, I'm not gonna lie. There are a couple of games that are coming out and I want to burn thru them before I start on the badges.
Enough of that now, TIME FOR THE RULES!!!
1. The 1000th viewer MUST take a screen cap of the page view. Without it, it goes to the 1001th viewer, etc etc etc.
2. Send me a note saying you have the screen cap
3. The winner can either post the pic wherever possible and link the pic to me or I will give my email for confirmation.
Well, that's pretty much it. After I confirm the winner, I will give more detailed instructions to that person.

Posted 13 years agoA question about badges
Posted 14 years agoOkay, here's the skinny. I've been toying around with a few ideas for my next projects. One I'm very interested in trying is to make some stained glass badges. So, I'm curious if anybody else would be interested in this?
I was thinking of doing pieces round the size 4"x4" to 6"x6". These would only be head shots because of size of these. The ballpark price I'm looking at charging is around $40-$50 per badge.
Now, this is gonna take awhile for me to make a sample badge so you would know what you're in for. Also, I do plan on trying to contact some of the people who organize cons to make sure they would allow a stained glass badge in there (safety reasons and what not). Cause, there's no reason to make these if no one can wear them.
So, if any of you are interested or not, PLEASE leave feedback. It will help me to determine if I should even attempt something like this. Also, if anybody has any questions about this, please ask.

Merry Christmas to all! :D
Posted 14 years agoMerry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Crazy Kwanzaa, ect. I just wanna wish everyone a happy holiday and a happy New Year too.
Also, I'm going to be using this week off of work to buckle down and try to finally finish the panel I promised for Quiet. I have a lot of work left to go so I have a long week ahead of me. But once I'm done with this, I'm closing any commission for the time being. This is for two reason. 1. I want to do some personal pieces. 2. I will moving in with my boyfriend sometime in the spring!
When we do move in together, I'll most likely have my own workspace finally and the freedom to do more with my art. So look forward to more interesting pieces in the future.

Why I HATE the news!!!
Posted 14 years agoI just watched a "special" report that the local news did on pitbulls and attacks. It was the typical bull@#%* one sided report showing how pitbulls are dangerous. This is a falsity! Pitbulls are no more dangerous than any other dog of the same size. I currently have two pitbulls and have never had a problem with them. In fact they are the sweetest dogs I have ever had.
Anyways, on the topic of the news report, they do their one-sided view on this because there has been a handful of pitbulls attacks in my area in the past year. One of the stories was about a two year old that got bit. What had happened with this incident was there was a pitbull that was sick and had a fever of around 102. The two year old had gotten into the yard with the dog and started hitting the dog in the head repeatedly. The dog did bite the kid but, instead of focusing on the fact that the parents of the kid were not watching their child, the news focused more on the fact that the dog had bitten a two year old. The family later refused to take any comments because they knew they were in the wrong.
Then the news has the gall to show the "lighter" side of this slam! They did this by saying that pitbulls came in second in attacks next to German Shepards. They then counteracted this by saying that a pitbull's bite is different than other dogs. This is true. Pitbulls have a tendacy to clamp down and shake after they bite. This is an old hunting instinct. It's a technique that they use to break their prey's neck. But I've notice a lot of other breeds that do this other than pitbulls.
Now really, it's not the breed of a dog that determines the outcome of a dog, it's the environment. And I do realize that pitbulls are a more aggresive breed but they have the potential to be some of the sweetest creatures on the face of the Earth. Like I said, I have two myself. My sister has a Bull Mastif herself and he's the biggest chicken in the world. I have friends that have pitbulls too and they are sweet things.
I apologize for my rant but I felt like I had to get this off my chest. Pitbulls get a horrible rap and it's about time they get some positive press. Any animal has the potential to be good or bad. It's a matter of how they are raised. I treat my dogs with love and care and they show it back.
My family and I are proud members of the Brew City Bully Club and any support you can show in light of this is greatly welcome. The BCBC website is http://www.brewcitybullies.org/

The loss of a good friend
Posted 14 years agoToday I had been given some horrible news. A friend of mine had died. I may have only known her for a short time but, I felt I've known her for years. She was a very kind and wise person. I was able to talk to her about anything without the worry of being judged in the slightest. Thanks to her, I learned more about myself in the last few months than I have in most of my life. The least I could hope for is that I had left a good impact on her like she had left on me.
The saddest part of all this for me is that she had recently commissioned me for a panel as a present for her partner. I've decided that I'll finish my work and give it as a gift to her partner. It's the least I can do for her. I just can't believe that she'll never be able to see the finished product. I promise to put my absolute all in to this piece.
