[Hot]Global Warming, how does it work
Posted 15 years agoBecause of magic and miracles[or the Earth's rotation, but who even cares about SCIENCE anyway], it's baking outside.
In my little corner of New York, it is 90 degrees at midday. For two days straight. This is getting out of hand. Not very friendly weather for a silver drake like myself. I do love heat, but when you go outside and your drinks instantly turn lukewarm if you leave it outside for a minute or so, it really grinds my gears. I left a pack of gum in my car overnight.
When I went back outside to go get it in the daytime, it melted into goo, barely confined by some thin paper wrapping. I threw it away immediately, before wasps could get ideas about building nests in my car. That's another thing, all the insects and spiders are out in force.
I went outside to smoke a cigarette at night, and nearly got propelled into the air by the amount of mosquitos bearing down on me. There are so many bites all over me and they all itch. I might probably get Malaria or some shit. It's all part of the fun of living nearby water.
I will try not to get heatstroke.

[news]This time, we're not holding back.
Posted 15 years agoIt is now June. It is also dreadfully hot.
I have finally - after a lot of searching - gotten a new job. Now I can spend my money on more Random Gay Furry Art. No, I'm serious. It's been what, a year? Two years? At least that long since I had something done. It's high time I treated myself.
I've also gone on a short, therapeutic road trip with an old friend of mine to Vermont. It was for two reasons:
1: So that he could visit his father. He hadn't been to see him in many, many moons. His father's good people - more than I could say for my own - so I was naturally agreeable to traveling with him.
2. His own car had finally thrown in the towel. I'm not a greedy, grabbing person, so I offered to drive him for free - provided I could stay over.
Well, we left in April, just after taxes, and headed North. It's not the first time I've been up there, so while he was enjoying some man time with his dad, I went to go check on some people. One person I knew for a long time - since before I was a teenager actually - had died in my absence. I did, however, get to visit his grave. This gave me a little bit of closure. It took a while for me to come to grips with the harsh reality, though. Naturally, I didn't want to inflict myself on my friend while he was enjoying his reunion with his father, so I stayed in the guest bedroom and stared at the ceiling, between reading books.
Three weeks later my friend said he had to go back home, and that he'd had enough of VT. So we made the trek back to New York.
Then, an old neighbor of mine, who moved out some time last year, let me know there was an opening at his body shop. I jumped on it as quickly as I could, and spent a week getting oriented. Now I help to re-spray cars.
I've also started writing again. I'd been having problems with it - mostly my creativity just sticking in place, and I couldn't get any ideas whatsoever. This had been going on for a while, and to be quite honest, it was depressing. It bothered me for months on end. It blunted my mood and made me horribly introspective.
However, on returning home, inspiration struck.
I managed to write a short, 10,000 word story over the course of a week. It's nothing related to furries - all the characters are quite human, which means that FA might not care about it at all. So I shan't bother posting it here. I also began work on another project as quickly as I started the last. My creativity needs exercise.
I've set a deadline for myself of at least five short stories. So far it's going swimmingly.

[News]Back to normal
Posted 15 years agoMan, I really have to update more.
I'm over my illness fully. I am also losing even more weight since I started having less money to spend on HEALING HERBS, but I have begun a cutting routine at the gym so that's fine.
Everything is pretty cool so far.

[NEWS]Against all odds...
Posted 16 years ago...I have not died.
But I have been experiencing some, shall we say, CHANGES.
1. I have a new place. No longer do I need to run outside and sneak a smoke. However, it's been a little difficult for me to fit all my stuff inside. As of now I'm still in the process of getting settled in. Having the whole holiday rush happen to me JUST as I got it in my head to find a more comfortable place, didn't help at all.
I did get a lot of tasty food and blankets, however. Funny how you think blankets are unimportant until you need one, and then your whole existence revolves around one thing - GETTING A NEW BLANKET.
2. My grandparents are on the verge of being evicted from their house. That's been a cause of a lot of stir in the family, as well as fears that it might happen to -us- as well. Being as I've had to go to court with them and carry them to and from places, my car having been the only one that could be spared, it's been a little hectic for me. Can't even relax and properly enjoy the freedom to inhale combusted hemp in my own room.
3. My doctor has given me a clean bill of health and urged me to return to exercising. Thus far I've gotten settled back into the gym nicely, lost a decent amount of pounds, and can now see my abdominal muscles again. Good feels, man. I still need to work on my strength, so I'll be making regular return visits. It's been more crowded than ever there lately.
4. I caught a case of the sniffles recently. Hopefully it won't bloom into anything more -exciting- because I don't want to be an invalid again, not at this critical moment. I'm preparing to go back to class and to be set back by an illness at this time would be really, really traumatic(for me at least). I am taking my vitamins and resting up.
That said, the usual suspects can IM me and catch up now that I have my laptop back up and running.

Posted 16 years agoSo! Summer.
Fucking awesome. I have smoked massive amounts of bud, chilled with my main dudes, patted little white girls on the ass, and partied over at my neighbor's for July 4th. You now have been informed. My homeboys chill hard, as I have always maintained to everyone who I encounter on these here INTER-WEBS.
I should be posting here more regularly. I also should be keeping up with the massive influx of newfags and Original Contents that have been flooding into the internet, as it occurs every summer.
I sleep at a different schedule since I went back regularly to the gym, so re-arranging my activities around this interruption has been reasonably difficult, but not wholly out of my reach.
Sleep is important. Even more important while I have plenty of time to do so; classes begin again in Fall.

[Stuff]Y'all trolls posting in a Nigga thread.
Posted 16 years agoSo I have returned, in one piece, and unharmed by any sort of influenza carried by Swine. Finally, an ironclad excuse to stay in my house! What more could I possibly ask for?
For one, working internet. As we who live on the East Coast, and specifically in the Tri-state area know, Optimum Online is a bloated mass of failure.
The cable line that we've had connected to the house finally gave up the ghost, and left me without the Internets for a period of time.
It was annoying and somewhat stupid, but after OptOnline sent a technician to check up on everything and replace the cable, I have now achieved an internet connection again.
To celebrate, I bought a shiny new router. No more dropped wireless connections for meeeeeee!
Take that, Linksys! I have toiled and sweated under your fascist yoke for long enough! Today is the beginning of a new era - the Belkin Era.
I duly hope that I will not regret this decision, but so far the network is very stable.
So now I will return to browsing Random Gay Furry Arts, probably in unhealthy amount due to H1N1 fucking things up on the outside.
I am fully aware that it's really no worse than the ORDINARY flu, which kills far more people, but I'm not getting sick again. I am enjoying my health.

[Stuff]Down with the Sickness
Posted 16 years agoI have contracted an advanced form of the cold. Head feels congested, I'm lightheaded and easily made dizzy by quick movement, body aches here and there, lots of mucus.
I'll lie down and quietly die now. Or in ten days, the infection will spread and I will have been transformed into Zombie. L4D IN REAL LIFE. I'm probably going to be a Hunter when I grow up.

[Tech]iPhone Games
Posted 16 years agoI never carried my phone with me often, but upon acquiring an iPhone I have taken pains to ensure that it goes with me wherever I roam.
I have purchased the car adapter, the window mount, a case, screen protectors, and other oddments to ensure its survival out in the wild.
I use Twitter much more regularly now, check my email on the go, and of course use it as a temporary distraction when queuing up, using the bathroom, or just waiting on something. It is almost like having a portable computer, except not because it is made by Apple.
Getting used to Apple's DRM systems and their very stringent ways of controlling how one uses their technology is a bit much for me, as a very vocal opponent of Apple and all of their frighteningly fascist ways of ensuring that no one can modify their software.
Still, freedom has prevailed.
I jailbroke my iPhone and customized it more to my liking. It is now more unique, more singular. hacked, even, to use that quaint '90's turn of phrase.
Still, I wish more mainstream video games would appear on the iPhone. Pokemon Platinum is coming out soon, and I do wish they'd consider putting it on the iPhone's app store. It'd make for a wonderful diversion while on the train or the bus.
You would have your pokemans with you 24/7, as opposed to having to remember your Nintendo DS.
Don't get me wrong - there are tons of good games for handhelds on the App store, but sometimes I crave some of the things the PSP or DS have. It'd be nuts if I could just grab them from the App Store and disregard my DS entirely.

[Fur]A spot of lulz
Posted 16 years agoOne fine day I was playing Left 4 Dead and slaughtering zombies left and right without remorse, rolling ten deep in corpses and busting caps like a gangsta-ass motherfucker.
After stomping the shit out of pubbies, I went in another game and got paired up with
myrilla .
So, since I was stealthily playing on Steam, I chose to pretend I didn't know it and had never encountered it before at any other place.
Myrilla was accompanied by two young men, both of whom hastened to let me know that 'she had really big breasts' and that she was 'really horny'.
Not knowing what bent this would have on my experience in L4D, I began the game. About halfway in, I made some remark along the lines that furry women tend to be packing a big surprise down below.
It was met with the most awkward of silences, as if I had managed to strike everyone dumb. And I thought to myself...."gotcha." If you need any further explanation, just sail on over to Myrilla's site and proceed to shit brix once you see it.
I always enjoy running into furries in civilian areas. There's always potentiality for amusement.

It also reminds me of when Group X was the hotness. I found out that they played at ROFLcon some time ago, and I was hit with internet nostalgia. Made me go back to the days when I used to noodle around on Newgrounds, ABS, Weebls-Stuff, matazone and a whole lot of other sites along that line. They used to generate a lot of creative, original content.

[FA]I do not hate furries.
Posted 16 years agoI hate some specifics of their behavior. People, please don't misunderstand my point...hating furries is about as cliche as it gets on the internet. My blood pressure does not shoot up when I see furries fucking on a random forum, nor do I rage with the force of a neutron star upon being subjected to viewing some fur's fucked up kinks.
Rather, there are certain aspects of the Furry community that grate on my nerves horribly, aside from the whole immature manchild aspect.
Quite a few furs are, by nature, incredibly shallow and flake-ish, with only a select few ever showing any sort of altruism.
I think the plight one of my friends had come into illustrates this issue in the sharpest of relief, as
twile had wrote a journal some time ago concerning the materialism and the shallowness of furries in general, as well as the general aspect of social climbing that can be seen as clear as day, and the deep depression that it had briefly sunk himself into.
It leads to people getting caught up in the treadmill of mass-producing pornography of themselves in a system with quite a few flaws, and this leads to a malaise of spirit in the long run.
The saddest thing about it was that he just wanted to be loved, and that he thought if he starred in multiple works of pornography, he would get views.
This appears to have worked to an extent, but his denouement in the end proves that furs are indeed less likely to respect you for climbing the social ladder.
Is this what all the furry 'creativity' and 'artistic possibility' boils down to? Being forced to whore yourself out to the general public for attention? Not so, claim many furry activists. They tout the fandom as being clean and family-friendly, fun for all ages!
And it's around then that the red curtain falls over my vision. More so because I already know what it's really like. But raging about it impotently and ranting isn't going to solve a thing, and that's why I don't bother with the immature tanty-throwing most 4channers do when they encounter furries. Instead, I just harbor a general dislike and mistrust for 70% of furries out there.
What stings me the most is that I keep giving every furry I meet a chance to disprove my perceptions of them, but inevitably they always prove themselves to be the self-righteous, persecution-complex-ridden, shallow wastes of carbon that I have found them to be.
If you've come across this journal seething with rage because you supposedly think I hate furries, try to take it easy and have a cup of tea to soothe yourself. If anything, I think that the Furry community and its works are a good concept that was irrevocably ruined by the Internet.
And with that I leave you.

[Philosophy]Being assimilated into the Fandom
Posted 17 years agoWhen I was a wee /b/tard back in 2003, I talked with a fellow who had a furry for a friend. This guy was relating to me about how preoccupied most furs were with cocks, dicks, and yiff(not generally in that order), and that he had just been subjected to a series of gay pornographic pictures, including one which as he put it depicted two furries with gigantic cocks(Yours truly imagines that this must have been Hyper art).
I said, "Huh. Really."
Flash forward to 2008. I now have an FA page, a fursona(Scalesona? Dragon-sona?)that I consider to be as much a part of myself as my hands or feet, and I have a picture of 'myself' showing off my gigantic dragon-cock to a dear friend of mine(
twile). Although he doesn't appear to be pleased, just a little envious in that photo. But that's beside the point...
...Are furs more sexually open than most? It stands to reason, because pornography is always the first thing that comes to mind to others when the word "furry" is thrown around a lot. Plus I've found that I've even looked forward to the little RP sessions with my fellow dragons/equines(I'm looking at you,
generation4200), and I busily think about what commissions I should have done next. I spend hours trawling FA for art and interesting things, time that I usually would have spent doing more important things.
...Alright, so that's a lie. Instead I might have spent that time staring at a blank wall and being stoned out of my gourd. Maybe the fandom is actually a very positive force in my life when it comes to relaxation and meeting people, at least so far. It's fun to be a part of something, and even more so to be recognized as a character in my own right. Being a Dragon and an independent one at that marks me as something at the least, instead of being a faceless human being in a sea of bodies. People look at my page and see one single entity, instead of just another number. The individuality is very refreshing, for me. Plus, it's always nice to kick back and indulge myself in debauchery and unrestrained, stimulating sexual antics with others, or have art depicting such.
I suppose what I'm saying in the end is that I am at peace with myself where I am, and that I have no regrets. Dare I even say that I'm proud to be in the fandom? Yes, of course.
The only thing I shan't do is go around telling people in real life and in other circles of the internet that I am a dyed-in-the-wool fandom member now. Let's not get too hasty, shall we?
-Gio

What is your fursona?
Giorgio Gabriel is something of a mirror-image of myself. He is not me and yet he is me. I see him as another person, and yet I see myself in him. He is not too difficult to play as a character. He is also somewhat better than I in some areas, and acts as a figure to guide me towards self-improvement on certain levels, except for the unattainable or somewhat impossible ones. He is in fact very old and born from the collective RP I have done prior to him, but it took a recent action from
Twile, a very good friend of mine, to awaken him fully.
Where did the name of your Fursona come from?
It came from a sudden whim. Giorgio from the mythical St. George, and Gabriel from the Archangel. In his human form Gabriel is an archetypical golden-haired, comely Knight, and he knew this, to the point of suffering from a little vanity, and his name immediately should make one think of such a person in the same way that it dawned upon me. Gabriel the Archangel is known for annunciation, resurrection, mercy, vengeance, death, and revelation, and some of these reflect in Gabriel the Templar Dragon, who is vengeful yet merciful, and death upon wings to his foes. Some of this might sound paradoxical, but Gabriel is something of a paradox even to me. Should he not be, since he is named for a mighty dragon-slayer?
What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Dragons are noble, charismatic creatures, something often forgotten by many. They are symbols of royalty and power, coming second to the mighty Lion. And since my family has a Lion as a sigil, I chose something different for a fresh perspective. Gabriel is a knight and of noble birth, and it is fitting that he should be a Dragon. I conduct him with some level of respect for dragonkind, since he is an icon of nobility.
What colour is your fursona and why?
He is white, evoking the image of a Templar Knight's armor immediately. On his back he has a streak of red scales from head to tailtip, and across his wings he has a blaze of red. This evokes the image of the ST. GEORGE'S CROSS, the historical Flag of England. It also carries on with the Templar image that he sports.
What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your real life personality?
Like myself, Gabriel is a knowledgeable fellow willing to learn about different things, and he dedicates his time in his lair to learning more about arcane dragon knowledge, their history, plus other things in turn. However, he is also lazy as I am, and somewhat of a roue, which is another reason dragonkind suits him perfectly. Above all he is chivalrous, honorable in his own twisted way, and respects agreements and promises to the letter-though, as I do, he will gladly disobey the SPIRIT of it.
What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in real life?
There's not much that he wears. Aside from gigantic plates of armor that transform him into a walking, fire-spitting tank, which he forged out of need for new armor for his bigger self. I own some pieces of old armor, so I suppose you could call that significant.
What is one thing you would say to your fursona if you could meet?
So, you're still alive too? That's good to see.
What is one thing your fursona would say to you if you could meet?
Likewise, although it must be more difficult for you...
How has your fursona changed over the years?
He's not even a year old yet!
How long have you had this fursona?
A few months.
Would you like to be more like your fursona?
Definitely, in many physical ways. Though not mentally, as we already match up more or less in that regard.

I only seem to post memes here. I have journal-worthy things I should probably write here, I suppose.
