Needing to be Open and Transparent
Posted 6 months agoHey Everyone!
I wanted to write a journal to let everyone know why I have really posted any art or updates for a while.
I have always wanted to be transparent to everyone what is happening with my art and things that my effect if but I had to for a while keep this part to myself until both Me and my Fiancé (Disias) felt comfortable talking about it in the open.
Last year Disias developed a sore internally in his mouth at first he thought it was a ulcer so we sort of ignored it for a while then it started getting worse, I told him since it was getting worse to go to a doctor. He refused to do so for almost half a year. At the end of October he was unable to do normal things like eating or drinking without pain. He finally could no longer stand the pain so he went to the ER. He spent a week in the Hospital while the doctors ran culture and everything but couldn't find anything so their next option was to do a biopsy. Mid November they finally got him in to do the Biopsy and the Doctor Diagnosed Disias with Cancer in his cheek and they would need to immediately get him into a surgery to remove the effected areas and would require facial reconstruction to repair the damage.
Disias spent 8 day in the ICU and 3 in recovery. When he was finally home I tried to help him do what the doctors told us he should be doing. He had to under-go 3 rounds of Chemo and 60 rounds of Radiation treatment. The Treatment hit him very hard and has made him very frail but we are still working on that. He will still have to undergo one surgery to finish his facial reconstruction. right now he is left with a third of his normal mouth, to eat out of so eating has been rough for him.
In order to take care of him the best I can I have been working 60hrs a week just to make sure he can live comfortably and not have to worry about bills and expenses. we are navigating this new life for a bit but hopefully I can get back to drawing soon but we wanted to let all in on what has been happening and hopefully you all can understand the situation.
Thank you for reading, Antonio
