General | Posted 13 years agoOh the things that went down at oklacon. So much happened; so many firsts and so many changes in my life. Unfortunately, there was a lot of shit. I had to deal with some drama that nearly ruined my night once; and the next day I was in tears and running away from the very person I went to oklacon to see. I wished that I had never met him and could have started over from day one. Yet, on the last day, I was still in tears wishing that the con wouldn't end. I wished I could stay with him.
Because, despite all that hurt, I had the best fucking time of my life! I saw my first concert, with him as the lead guitarist to boot, and it was the best time I had! I got my first drink at the concert, a few sips of jack and coke and about a half glass of jack and sprite which was a lot better than the first, and discovered that I am a very calm and affectionate drunk. affectionate with people I already know, at least. I'm sure the ability to loosen up and bounce more on the dance floor goes without saying. I am apparently a good drunk too, cus everybody said that they couldn't tell I wasn't sober! After the show I got to snuggle with master by the fire for several hours. Hell, the sun was comming up before we went to bed. The next night we went to sub level 03, and holy fucking shit that was the MOST intense thing I have ever experienced! The lights, the sounds, the fennwah trying to get me out of my hoody, it was all just too much... and I loved every fucking second of it!
As I slept things off when I got home after the con, I found myself wondering a little. As much fun as I had, it wasn't really anything I couldn't experience here. Was master, his mate, and fennwah really that big of a difference? Not terribly, but they did make a difference. However, all the drama didn't really seem worth it. I was terrified looking back at some of the things that happened, but then it dawned on me.
Why do people ride roller coasters? You get on them and you're terrified. Things build up, and your anticipation rises, then you are snapped and thrown about like a ragdoll. Sometimes the restraining bar hurts, sometimes the loopty loop makes you throw up, sometimes you just can't tell what happened and are shaken to the core; and yet, when you get off, you look at your quivering hands and stand on your shaking legs... with the biggest fucking grin on your face! that fear, that rush, that exhilarating flash of uncertainty just when you think the safety bars are going to let go but hold on tight and pull you back to safety, it's what anybody who rides the ride wants! When you get off, shaken, barely able to hold your ground, that's when you tighten up and brace yourself for more!

Ladies and gentlemen, those of us here in the US need to stop this thing dead in its tracks. Some of you might think that this doesn't affect us furries, but it really does. I'm no expert in the matter, and I don't pretend to be, but if a video of your kid dancing on youtube with a copy righted song in the background can be considered copy right infringement, so can rule 34. Now I know that's kinna silly, but it could still result in IB, FA, e621, any furry website with rule34 on it to be taken down. This thing could ruin the internet for ALL of us. Even those of us outside the US! So come on people, let's stop this before it can stop us.

Royal Affairs Update: Donation Drive
General | Posted 14 years agoLadies and Gentlemen, I have come to a decision: I want to have my story, "Royal Affairs," illustrated. I feel that it'll bring more enjoyment to the narrative over all. However, there are two problems....
Problem one: I can't draw... which leads to--
Problem two: commissions are EXPENSIVE!
This means that I have a few options, some of which are more viable then others.
The first option is to be ... let's just say "optimistic"... that's a good word. By this I mean I could pay for the drawings out of my own pocket and hope that the finished products gets my name out there enough so that I don't need to worry about it. However, this is an investment on my part that I may never make back... I don't like that as I'm still paying my way through college.
The second option is that I finish Royal Affairs, pay for the illustrations myself, and charge for the finish product. Again though, this puts me in a similar boat as the first option. I don't have a name in the fandom and it is completely possible that no one will pay for something without knowing how my work is. In this case, I would be totally riding on the name of the artist I commission for the art, and I just don't think that's fair. Plus, even if I offer to split the profits for their work, I still may not actually make any profits to begin with and end up out of pocket again.
so, with that spelled out, I have decided on this 3rd option. A donation drive! here's how it'll work, while I am working on Royal Affairs, I will be asking for donations towards the art production of it. To reach an acceptable quality, I am setting a goal of $200 USD. That will cover at least one quality color image for each chapter of Royal Affairs! If i can reach that $200, I will be able to provide the story to all of you free of charge. I have uploaded the first 2 chapters, so you can get a more than adequate idea of if the story is your cup of tea or not. If you like it, than donate to your hearts content! However, if I don't reach $200, I will be forced to charge for the final product to make up the production cost... which I really don't want to do.
That sounds fair doesn't it? yes? no? How bout I add one more incentive: donate, and you'll get an "early release" copy of the story :D complete with sketches and an extra "making of" story, possibly in audio form? You know you want to <3

Even if I did though (like blizzcon for instance. i have ticket money) I wouldn't have the money for rooming or transportation.... I guess I'm just saying y'all suck! XD just kidding :3
