Official Plushie Information

Pocket Plushies are small "rag-doll" styled plush animals designed to hang out of one's pocket and peek out on the outside world.
I make them out of anti-pill fleece, half the work is done using a sewing machine, half is done by hand. Each plush takes approximately 6-8 hours from start to finish (If that seems like a long time it's because I'm really a novice when it comes to sewing, I just started about a month ago) The tufts and tails are made using the same method as making "yarn tails", I do not use any faux fur fabric. This adds to the work time on the plushies. All markings are done by hand, which also adds to the work time.
I charge $10 for a simple character and most pre-makes. What is simple?
One or two colours and no crazy markings like stripes or spots.

When the legs are a different colour than the body there will be a $1 charge (Regardless of the arm colour. I'm charging this because I have to hand stitch the legs onto the body, I have to hand stitch the arms no matter what, so the arms are excluded. THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR TIPPED FEET, JUST IF THE LEG COLOUR IS SEPARATE FROM THE MAIN BODY COLOUR)
There will also be a $1 charge if the ears need to be different than the main head colour, like on the fox, Again, this is just because I have to hand stitch that, and it's very small and delicate work.

For creatures with a lot of special markings I will have to give private quotes based on the specific design, but roughly, it will be $.25 per stripe/spot (A cap at $2, all commissions will be handled on a job by job basis)

Characters who require specialized additions will need to discuss it with me directly for prices, For instance, hooved creatures. I have to hand sew the hooves, and add them to the body, also by hand, so I'm thinking a fee of $1 is fair for that.

I can also do digitagrade legs and pawpads, but this will be a fee of $5 for the legs (I will not charge for separate colours if you should request digitagrade legs), and $2.00 for the pawpads, Once more, When I do these types of specializations I have to do all the work by hand, which is time consuming.

These statements are not 100% concrete, and prices are somewhat negotiable. This is a BASIC idea of the thought process I go through when giving people quotes, so you can understand the extra work involved with complex designs. $10 for a custom make plush toy is EXTREMELY cheap. You can't get finished 2d art made for that cheap. When I give a quote I'm really trying to be fair as possible. Like I said, I will handle every job case-by-case. I'm not looking to charge an arm and a leg for these, don't be afraid to ask for a quote. It's not my intention to set prices on these so high that people don't want to do business with me. That's counterproductive. :p
The only other charge I'll consider when taking orders is cost of supplies. If I have to go to the fabric store to buy a new colour I will have to charge you for that. This one is pretty firm. I typically have several colours in my arsenal, but I can't be dishing out dough constantly for additional materials I do not have on hand.

If you place an order for a plush, and you don't pay upfront (which I really don't mind, if you need a little time to get the money together I can totally understand that) and I finish you have one week from when I upload to pay for it, UNLESS YOU WORK SOMETHING OUT WITH ME. Or I will put that plushie up for adoption, and it's up for grabs.
During the week I will usually complete a job within 48 hours, I RARELY HAVE TIME DURING THE WEEKEND TO WORK ON COMMISSIONS. So bear with me on deadlines.
Shipping is $3 for anywhere in the US
I don't go to the post often. I try to go with a few things, so unless you discuss with me delivery deadlines understand that I will not be going to the post office 4 times a week. If you want it as a gift for someone I will try to work with you, but unless you specify... I'll be waiting till I have 3 or 4 other parcels to ship out. Sorry if this causes any inconveniences.

So I've been thinking about this small contest. Last week I made a yarn faux fur tail keychain, and I have yet to sell it. So I've decided to give it away in a little contest. The whole point of this is to gain exposure and spread the word that I am open for commissions to create custom yarn tails.
This will be easy to enter. All you have to do is watch me (if you aren't already) create a journal, and add a link to my page!
I'm going to do an electronic raffle, in which you may be entered several times!
If you enter you will be put in the raffle.
If you can get someone to watch my page you will get a second entry (one per new watch you bring!)
If someone orders a tail from me, because you referred them, you will get 3 more entries! So do any new customers! :)
At the end of June (I may change the deadline depending on participation) I will randomly pull a name (more like I'll be using a program to give me a random number) and bing-o bang-o we'll have a winner!
The winner shall receive a FREE rainbow keychain tail I will cover the shipping. However, If this contest gets rolling and I receive a decent amount of feedback I may make a few more full-sized tails and offer a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.
