Just checking back in here after a long hiatus. Pondering if I should do more with this account. How much interest do people have in it?

How would people feel about a reboot of this, with a new artist, and possibly some more appealing, full color art? It's been a long time, and :aggrobadgericon doesn't really do the same level of art productivity he used to (and his prices have raised to reflect the increased skill and value of his work from experience):

So yeah, been a bit quiet here for some time.

Anyone still interested in this? xD I should probably put things up, but I dunno what to add at this point.

This guy is pretty good at monstery stuff, and I'm pretty fond of his art. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9657230/ Something like these, but with simple shading, would fetch a price of $15-20. If you want color, like this (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9594183/), It's another $5-10. He's pretty loose on his prices, and it sort of depends on how much he likes something. He also charges a little less overall when you get sequences or comics from him. If you have an idea, ask me and I'll poke him to inquire up a quote for you.

Not to write him out entirely, his current rates are $24 +$6 for added complicated stuff. The spell involved will probably add that modifier, so we're looking at $30. But that would be color, too, rather than the old greyscale.

I'm sure there are other great artists out there, but those are just a few off the top of my head. Any of them interest people?

I have had a few concerned people ask if this collection series has died. It has not, actually. There are two pieces incoming, from the last donation drive, but they are vastly overdue, and I am not sure they will actually show up any time soon.

Here is our problem. When this started, our artist, , was offering black and white art for $3 a commission, which is what fills this gallery. The price slowly rose as his skill increased, and the most recent submissions here were worth $9 each.

He continued to allow the $9 price-tag well beyond when his regular commissions had moved to full color and the price moved closer to $20. Finally he said he could not offer me that grandfathered price anymore - his regular commissions now fetch a base price-tag of $24, and it was not worth his time anymore. He allowed the last two ideas from our donation drive to be done for $9, but was clear both that they would be low on his to-do priority list and that they would be the last he could accept at that price.

So, we've got a couple options here. We can wait out him getting around to doing those, then try for another donation drive more fitting to his current prices (I imagine we'd swap to colored entries as a result, that would be sort of fun!), or we can attempt to find a new artist, and request a refund from him and get their art instead.

Or, I suppose, the people who donated can just ask for their money back and I will refund them once I receive the refund from him. That would make me a bit sad, but I would understand. It has been an awful long time, but we could also move forward from there.

What would you people like to do? (Please note this is a decision-making journal, not actually the time where we say, decide on a new artist. I just want to figure out what direction we should go in right now)

Well, owing to some new, improved gnoll art the avatar has been updated to one that I feel properly encapsulates this art collection! :D Scream for the crowd, Timmy!

In other news, as before, I'm still taking donations for more pieces to add to the collections. Any amount of donation is acceptable, but the one who donates the most towards a new piece will get to pick the spell and who gets it - our werewolf "Kenny", or the gnoll "Timmy". Or perhaps some new D&D creature, I suppose, if it's really wanted.

So, I was thinking for a while, and while gnolls are pretty cool and iconic, it might be neat to add more creature types from D&D into the mix.

Since I seem to have a small but marginally loyal fanbase here, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. You don't need to give me ideas, I've got some already (dragons, werewolves, etc.) but if you have some obscure furry-ish creatures (read: not in the first monster manual) you can point them out to me.

Of course, I'll have to move this all to a more appropriately named page, but I think that 'gnollishspellstargets' is a bit of a mouthful anyway.

Heh. I know that a large percentage of the artist fanbase recoils at the thought of actually putting out money for artwork.

I am not demanding anything from you, as this is optional.

Thus, I don't really care what reason you might have for not being able to offer anything, so if you are considering a response along the lines of "Aw man, I'd love to but I have rent to pay, etc.", then your time would be better spent thinking up a few new suggestions and offering them in the idea thread, shown in my header right now.

Why donate? I am not made of money, and while eventually I plan to stretch out this series pretty far, it will be a rather slow process - unless you want to help.

Anything can be donated and would be appreciated, but it would be most convienient if you people could donate in multiples of $5.

For each one of those you donate, I will take an idea from you or let you pick one from the idea list and move it up to the top tier and it will be drawn. We can discuss the exact nature of the scene too.

Naturally, if someone donates before you that means you will be just below them - not that I expect to be much flooded by donations >.>;

If you plan on donating, I am much appreciative, but I ask that you remain in awareness of the following guidelines:

No porn - Please do not request spells from the Book of Erotic Fantasy or any other type of magic that is very obviously sexually oriented. This includes asking for benign spells to create a pornographic scene. There will be no Evard's Black Tentacle Rape.

No gumdroprainbow spells - While I am aware that gnollish resemblance to hyenas has caused a not entirely insignifigant amount of drama as of late, I must point out that for the purposes of this series, we are using standard evil, vicious, mangy gnolls. Spell choices do not need to be directly harmful or fatal, and can be beneficial in some cases, but requests for spells that are obviously motivated by pity for a them will not be considered. Examples include Good Hope, Protection from Evil, Bless. Not only is it unlikely someone would cast this on a gnoll, but it would basically involve them standing around and looking happy. That does not make for a terribly interesting picture.
