MOVING ACCOUNTS
General | Posted 8 years agoI've decided to move accounts since I can't change my username on here and this one is way too old. (Thanks, FA.) This is fitting seeing as I just moved house as well.
My new account is
so please go follow me on there if you'd like to continue seeing new art. This account will remain up for a little while but will be taken down eventually.

Need Help for Medical Bills
General | Posted 8 years agoAs some of you may know, I recently had a minor health emergency in which I was diagnosed with severe contact dermatitis and cellulitis. Due to the severity and worsening of the conditions, I had to visit an urgent care center run by my insurance provider before I could go to the regular doctor. This has left me with a $200 bill that will be very hard for me to pay. Art is my sole source of income, and money is already tight for a number of reasons, including other recent health issues. Additionally, the medications I’m on to treat the conditions leave me very hazy, and I likely won’t be in any state to work until the meds have run their course in about a week. Follow-up care with a dermatologist, as recommended by the doctor who treated me, may also be needed if the symptoms come back.
So, I need help. Paying back what I owe as soon as possible would lift so much weight off my shoulders. My paypal donation link is paypal.me/rinwolfe. Even $5 would help me so much, though I understand if you can’t donate. If you’re instead interested in commissioning me, you can PM for terms and prices, though obviously keep in mind that it will be a few days before I can start working. Thanks for reading.

Whoa
General | Posted 10 years agoSo I won't beat around the bush this time; A lot has changed since my last update over a month ago. Another itemized list to make things easier to say:
~I'm still doing art, don't worry! I've just been working on things that are either too unfinished to post, too personal to post, or just don't jive with what I like to post on furry sites. Please check out my Tumblr if you're interested in that stuff. I'll hopefully be getting back to more furry stuff soon.
~I've become totally infatuated with Undertale. I won't go on forever here about it (because I know plenty of other people have), but I really enjoyed it and it's one of my favorite games of this year, if not of all time.
~I went to Midwest FurFest for the first time! It was a wonderful convention and I made so many new friends and got into so many wild adventures. I'm really hoping to be able to come back next year and do artist alley. It was also my first really big furry convention and it was a blast. Again, I'm a little bummed I couldn't suit but we ended up flying in so that wasn't really possible. Chicago was awesome.
~I've been really sick for the first time in a while. Wesley caught the con flu on Saturday of MFF and I caught it Sunday night. Between that and all the partying I completely lost my voice for a few days and it's still slowly coming back. I'm almost 100% better now, but it was a rough few days. I'm going through some insurance troubles, so being sick is much more of a concern for me now.
~I turned 21! Not much is different, but I thought I'd mention it.
~Finally, and most importantly, a big announcement: I am now in a poly relationship! I am now very happily involved with two wonderful guys (and furries), Norix and Nik. We are very happy together!
Anyway, I can't really think of anything else that needs to be said. Til next time!

General Updates and Questions to My Followers
General | Posted 10 years agoWell, not quite the length of time between my last update and this one than before, but I still wanted to pop in and say I continue to exist on the mortal plane. I've been working on art and writing, just nothing big that I can post at the moment. I've also been sucked back into an MMO I hadn't played for a year which has taken up my time. I spent last weekend in Ocean City with my dad for two and a half days which was a lot of fun. We did the normal touristy stuff (mini golf, arcade, boardwalk junk food), and saw The Martian, which was good. I'm now back at home with a new tablet as my old one stopped working. It's an Wacom Intuos Pro Medium, and I had to basically sell my kidneys to pay for it. It's great.
Now, onto the real reason I posted this: I need to make money, like most human adults. What kinds of things would you guys be interested in seeing from me that you might buy? So far, I have a few ideas including:
-YCH auctions (which haven't been doing well)
-Adoptables (done some in the past, but kind of a pain)
-Badge sales to be picked up at MFF (need to buy a laminater and supplies for that)
-Character chibi sales
-BOGO sales
-New prints for my Soc6 store (which delays me getting the money for at least a month)
-Starting a Patreon (iffy due to recent breaches and fake accounts)
Do any of you guys have any ideas for me that you've seen do well? Anything to add or suggest? Any opinion on the options I've listed above? I'd really appreciate any input as I'm very much in need of income.

What have I done?
General | Posted 10 years agoSorry for the dramatic title, I just wanted to let people know what I've been up to since my last journal in June. So, to be short about it:
-Made it back to Maryland from Louisiana; was not eaten by alligators.
-Spent a few days up in NW Maryland with my dad. Had quality bonding time even though his snoring drove me to the brink from lack of sleep. Kicked ass at an arcade there.
-Continued to hang out with my parents, helping them out with tech stuff and cooking for them in return for them being so awesome. Went to Secret Park every week herping and looking for other wildlife.
-Made plans to go to MFF!! Bought our badges, hotel room, and flights. Super excited!
-Made (further) plans to go to Fur the 'More next year. Still need to buy badges and hotel room when they open the block.
-Was potentially offered a spot in a car/room to Anthrocon next year. Still up in the air about this one, but I'm hopeful.
-Finally, I got a new snake today! Adopted a hognose from a friend of a friend who couldn't keep him anymore. His name is Ray (short for Rayquaza), and he's settling in right now. He has some stuck shed from improper care, but we have him set up well and expect him to be back to perfect health soon. We were warned he had a bad temper, but that seems to be untrue from what we've seen so far. I look forward to many happy years with him.
Anyway, that's about it! Sorry I've been so silent, I've just bee occupied with other things. I'm still making art and getting by, and remember that I'm always here to talk!

Home Soon!
General | Posted 10 years agoJust as a reminder, I'll be back home and back to work on Monday night (though I'll probably not be posting anything until at least Tuesday).
In case you're wondering, I'm having a great time! I haven't seen this part of my family for close to 5 years, so there's a lot of catching up to do. We went out to see wild alligators and have eaten a lot of great food. We went out to Avery Island today (where they make Tabasco Sauce) and we'll be heading out to Galveston on Sunday to swim and enjoy the heat.
Anyway, I don't feel like typing much else up on my phone. I'll make a bigger update when I get back and have a physical keyboard.

Fur the 'More 2015 aftermath and other announcements
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, I've been back from FurMore for a few days! It was an absolute blast, and I'd love to talk about it for a moment.
As you may know, Fur the 'More 2015 was my first furry convention! I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. The convention was a blast and I made a ton of new friends. I didn't end up going to as many conventions as I wanted (which seems to be the case with pretty much every convention I go to), but I had a lot of fun at the ones I did end up at.
I don't really feel like typing out a huge report, so I'll make a few bullet points.
Pros:
-Everyone was really friendly! I hung out with some people on Friday night and met up with them again on Saturday. They were all so funny and friendly and generous. We had delicious beverages and laughed a lot. Great people.
-There were amazing costumes! I didn't take many pictures, but I was shocked at the variety and quality of the fur suits that were present. It only makes me wish I had been able to finish my own, but I'll absolutely have one next year.
-All the vendors and artists were really cool. I commissioned my first badge and the artist I worked with was so patient and kind. We bought some other things from the dealer's room and all of the booths seemed well composed with a good variety of product.
-The convention had the best medical ops I've ever seen. I had a really bad experience with the Otakon med ops a few years ago, so seeing a well-stocked and organized med station is something I always look for. I didn't end up needing to use their services, but I was confident that I'd have been in good hands if I did.
-With the exception of a couple of bumps listed in the 'cons', the event seemed well-organized. The opening ceremony was very informative, and I was so happy to see such an emphasis placed on the idea of consent (which was featured on posters), and a mention of their zero-tolerance harassment policy. I can't believe there are still some conventions that don't have this kind of thing in their code of conduct.
-Artists and dealers could handle their own transactions! I don't get why this isn't a staple at furry conventions yet (perhaps it's something that used to be more common in all conventions?). Additionally, artist supplies (pencils, sketchbooks, lamination services) were available for a fee, which I ended up using to laminate my badge.
-The convention merchandise was nice. I ended up buying a lanyard and a shirt (as did my partner) and both were really nice. I actually love the shirt and will probably wear it often. I didn't end up buying a bag or any of the other products, but they appeared high quality.
-The video game room was AWESOME. They had literally everything I could think of in terms of consoles and hundreds of titles there. I didn't spend much time in the tabletop room, but I suspect it was similarly great. These rooms were also open 24 hours.
Cons:
-The panels could have been a bit more organized. The panel area was very cramped and kind of out of the way/difficult to find. There were no queue areas, leading to a lot of confusion and blocked hallways before panels. It also seemed like about half of the panels needed to be moved due to size. It's not something I can totally fault the con for, but it would have been nice to see a better use of space.
-The artist alley and dealer's room was a little weird. I know that the organizers intended for the artist alley to feature artists that were there to work on commissions, but this left the alley over half empty for the entire con. Most of the work I would expect to see in the AA was in the dealer's room instead because of their ruling about what constitutes manufactured versus hand made. I suspect this is probably a price thing, but it made it a little confusing. Revamping the artist alley would, I believe, help out everyone.
-There were some small issues with communication in the staff. Specifically, two situations. Firstly, I asked about 18+ verification when I was getting my badge and was told that our badges indicated our age. That night, however, I was told I had to get a wristband (like at most cons) to go to 18+ events. This wasn't a huge problem, just a slight confusion. Secondly, when I went to get my commissioned badge laminated, the person who was running the convention booth at the AA didn't know how to do it or how much it cost and seemed kind of unfriendly and upset. They said the attendant who would know was out for lunch and couldn't be reached. Luckily, one of the artists helped me out instead. Other than that, all the staff seemed friendly and helpful.
-I did have two not-so-nice interactions with attendees. I don't feel like talking about them, considering what site this is, but they really weren't /too/ bad. I wasn't hurt or anything, and both of the situations were quickly and amicably resolved.
Don't be fooled by the big con section, this was an amazing con! I simply just can't point out all the great things about it specifically. Considering this is their third year, I'm amazed at the level of organization and the sheer scale of the con. I think Fur the 'More will likely join the ranks of the other major furry cons in the coming years, and I can't help but wonder how such a large community went untapped before now for a convention. Next year will bring great things, I'm sure, and I won't be missing it! I'll be back with a fur suit, a vendor's table, and maybe even a panel!
The convention has left me very inspired, and I'll be persuing some cool ideas in the near future. One such idea is that of forming my own meet up group, which I've already done a bit of planning for. Expect more info on the soon.
Finally, a small and unrelated note: I’ll be away from the internet June 14-22 while visiting family in Louisiana. I’ll still have my phone and will be checking for messages but likely won’t be posting anything in the meantime (save for a few pictures, possibly). If you need to get a hold of me in the meantime, send me a private message and I’ll get back to you within a day or so.
A lot of things will be happening after I get back, so look forward to what I have in production then!

Fur the 'More 2015!
General | Posted 10 years agoJust as a reminder, I'll be gone tomorrow through Sunday at Fur the 'More 2015! If you need to get a hold of me, please send me a message on Tumblr, Facebook, or email (which can be found via the link to my commission TOS and Prices on my profile). I'll have my phone and tablet to check the internet, but I likely won't be on FA at all over the weekend. Next week will be pretty busy as I catch up on housework, pack for my trip to Louisiana, and edit photos from con. As stated before, if you'd like to hang out or have your picture taken (for free!) please send me a PM here or on another site before tonight so we can exchange info. Either way, see you all when I get back! Ciao!

A: Just come up to me! I probably won't see you if you try to wave to me/call to me.
Q: How many furry conventions have you attended?
A: This will be my first, though I've been to dozens and dozens of other conventions!
Q: Do you own a fursuit?
A: Not at this moment, but maybe soon. ;D
Q: Can I hug or snuggle with you?
A: Probably! I'm generally a cool and affectionate person, just ask first (and don't smother/tackle me).
Q: How can I find you?
A: Look for the hyper person with a half-shaved head and black glasses. I'll try to put out a costume schedule closer to con, but I'll likely be in street clothes with my tail and hat part of the time and in my snake or tiger kigus the other part.
Q: Can I buy you drinks?
A: No thanks! I'll have plenty of my own.
Q: Can I take your picture?
A: I don't see why you would, but sure!
Q: Do you do free art, trades, commissions, badges?
A: I don't do free art, but I am totally up for commissions after the con!
Q: Do you have a table in the Artist Alley / Dealer’s Den or a panel in the Art Show? If so, what are you selling?
A: Not this year, but hopefully in 2016.
Q: Do you plan to volunteer?
A: Not this time.
Q: What’s your goal for the con this year?
A: To have a ton of fun and meet lots of new friends!
Q: Anything else I need to know?
A: If you want to meet up/hang out, just shoot me a message! I'm totally open to meeting new people at con, even if we haven't really chatted before.
Welp, I have to get back to preparing for con! Packing is almost done, just have to reorganize my suitcase and nudge Wesley to pack his stuff. Beyond that, I'll be finishing my reference sheet, maybe working on some badges, and potentially working on some other secret stuff. See you at Fur the 'More!
Q: How are you getting there?
A: Driving there with my partner! It's only about an hour away from us.
Q: Who do I address you as?
A: Just call me Rin!
Q: How old are you?
A: 20
Q: Where are you staying?
A: Sheraton (same place as the con)
Q: When will you be arriving and leaving?
A: Getting there early Friday and leaving sometime Sunday afternoon/evening.
Q: Who will you be hanging with?
A: Wesley mostly, but maybe some new friends too!
Q: Who will you be rooming with?
A: Wesley
Q: Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
A: Going to panels, walking around, taking pictures, talking to people, and generally being very excited!
Q: What/where will you be eating?
A: Probably chowing down on a lot of snacks and food we'll bring but I also have a list of local places to order in/dine in.
Q: Will you be having a room party?
A: No, but I might go to some!
Q: Will you be drinking and/or getting drunk?
A: ;3
Q: What is your gender?
A: Genderqueer (they/them)
Q: How tall are you?
A: 5'5"
Q: If I approach you, will you chat with me?
A: Probably!

General Update (Please Read)
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, it kind of just dawned on my that I haven't posted anything on here for several months, so those who don't follow me on Tumblr might be in the dark about my current situation and plans. I figured this was as good a time as any to fill in my followers.
About a month ago, I lost my job. I was very upset over at the time, but have since come to terms with it. I am very lucky in that I am not in a dire situation. My partner has taken on more hours at his job to make up for my being unemployed, and we will not be in financial danger. We have savings and other sources we can tap as well if need be, but I don't foresee that happening.
I've taken this as an opportunity to get my life on track and start towards my career in art and writing. While it's tempting to take on another retail job for steady pay, I don't ever see myself being able to make a career that way.
So, for now I have two big events planned before I really drill into work. At the end of the month, I'll be attending Fur the 'More in Virginia (which we luckily had budgeted for months in advance), and I will be taking a personal trip in mid June with my dad to go visit family in Louisiana (which my father has very kindly offered to pay for on my behalf). Between now and late June when all of that is done, I'll mostly be taking time to prepare and plan for both of those trips and for what I'll be doing when I return.
That being said, when I come back and have nothing planned for the immediate future, I will be putting more serious work into my business as a content creator, as well as trying to take better care of myself and my residence.
This means I will be launching an online store, though I haven't decided a platform quite yet, and will also be likely launching a Patreon or running some sort of other continuous funding campaign. I'll also be pushing harder for commissions, adoptables, etc. The goal is to be able to afford to pay my own bills which are about $250 a month without help from my partner. The dream would be having some left over to spend on clothing, supplies, and even treats for myself. I'm also hoping to get to a place financially where I can attend more conventions as an artist next year. Only time will tell on that part, but I'm going to be fighting hard.
There are also a few other non-art goals I'd like to be able to accomplish, such as finishing and publishing my first book, getting my driver's license, and starting my medical transition. Those things are all really up in the air though.
Any comments or advice on working as an independent artist would be greatly appreciated, as well as any kind words. While I have been taking better care of myself (eating meals, sleeping, etc.), I still have been feeling a lot of stress and pressure.

Rin's "I need money to live" Commissions
General | Posted 11 years agoSo, as some of you might know, my hours at work have dwindled to the point of being unlivable. Every cent of my paycheck is being eaten up by bills, leaving me with $0 in my bank account for food, clothes, or medication.
I’ve been lucky enough that my partner has been able to cover most of our living costs, but I’m now forced to stop seeking medical advisory for the moment, as I will not be able to afford copays, prescriptions, or any more missed work days. This means I will not be able to afford treatment for my depression, nor will I be able to start HRT to relieve my building gender dysphoria.
Please, please consider commissioning me for custom artwork. My prices start as low as $5 for a sketch, and anything paid will be going straight towards making sure I’m able to continue working. I’m not asking for donations or handouts, I’m asking for an honest chance to use my skills to make money.
My prices, TOS, and examples of my work can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing
If you can’t afford to commission me right now, please consider signal-boosting this post, so that I can potentially reach people who do have something extra to spend. Thank you.

Pets Galore!
General | Posted 11 years agoI haven't really kept up to date on here as to my personal life, so I figure I would share something. Specifically, I want to update you on my pets!
As of today, we now have three pets:
Buttercup is a normal Leopard Gecko. She's still pretty young, about four or five inches and only a few ounces, and still not too used to being held. She'll tolerate being picked up from below, but still hates being touched on her back or tail. She's very sweet, eats well, and likes to rearrange her cage. She's currently eating dusted meal worms. We got her at a chain pet store.
Jake is a normal(?) Corn Snake. He's about four or five years old, and about five and a half feet long (no more than a few pounds weight). He's fine with being held, but can be a little antsy sometimes. We haven't been able to get him to feed well yet, but he's still settling in. Right now, he's eating adult mice. We picked him up at a local aquatics and exotics pet store.
Magnus is a normal Boa Constrictor. He's three or so years old, six and a half feet long, and about 15-20 pounds. He is sweet as a puppy dog and seems to really enjoy being held. I don't have a good grasp on his personality yet, but he seems very relaxed and adaptable. He's set to eat adult rats. He was acquired at a reptile show.
And there we are! Three lovely, scaly babies. I'm incredibly happy with out current set up, and don't plan on adding anything else for quite a while. I'll eventually post pictures of all of them to my scraps. <3

General | Posted 12 years agoAfter quite a slump, I'm looking to get snap back into shape with some art trades! Please comment or message if you'd like to participate. I'd love to trade some art with people on here, preferably furry art. I'm totally open to drawing fursonas/characters, kink/porn, whatever!

Happy New Year!
General | Posted 12 years agoHeh, I guess my journals are now reserved for commemorating yearly events, seeing as my last journal was about my birthday. Oh well, it's better than completely disappearing.
Holidays are over for now, which means work will go back to normal. I'm completely okay with that, seeing as Christmastime in retail was as expected: busy, stressful, and frustrating. Now that everything has slowed down, I have a little more time to myself to recuperate from ten hour workdays and being sick for the last few weeks. Still, I can't believe it's the new year already. The holidays really flew by.
Because of the extra stress and hours, I haven't been able to draw much. Hopefully that will change soon. However, I have gotten to write quite a bit, and work more on my novel. I'm so close to finishing! It's terribly exciting, even though it's nowhere near print. I need to go back and rewrite large portions and just do a general edit.
It's also almost convention time. Due to schedules, unusual dates, and work, I wasn't able to attend a convention since Otakon in July, which is the longest period for me in almost a decade. However, Katsucon will be here soon and I'm already making lists and thinking of cosplays. Luckily, we have a room with some very close and trustworthy friends. Still need to purchase our tickets, however.
Anyway, I can't think of anything else to talk about. Ciao.
Edit: I'll also be remaking my reference sheet for my sona soon! Her name has actually changed to match my own, and her design has had some slight changes.
Finally, I'll be getting a new tattoo soon. Will post pictures eventually.

Happ Birthday to me!
General | Posted 12 years agoI am officially 19 today.
We're going to the Zelda Symphony at the Meyerhoff later to celebrate. First, however, free subs and drinks, because fuck yeah free birthday stuff. Won't be getting any presents this year, but that's just part of being an adult. It's been quite a year. Anyway, I am off!

Commission Prices & FAQ
General | Posted 12 years ago1. What are your basic prices?
My basic price guide is as follows:
$5 for a simple sketch, no inking, little or no shading, no color.
$10 for an inked lineart, little or no shading, no color.
$15 for an inked work with simple monochrome shading, no color. ( ex. http://tinyurl.com/kjprkzv)
$15 for an inked work with flat colors, no shading. (ex. http://tinyurl.com/mf5m9h6)
$25 for an inked work with color and shading. (ex. http://tinyurl.com/kfl5pfr http://tinyurl.com/kcobjcu)
Add %15 to the total cost for every extra character beyond two.
Add %20 to the total cost for a detailed background.
Also offered:
$3 for a pixel avatar up to 200x200 px.
$20 (+ shipping if physical copy is desired) for a full-color digital badge (from the waist up).
$35 + shipping for a traditional badge done in ink and colored pencil.
$45 or more + shipping for a traditional ink piece and/or colored pencil piece. (ex. http://tinyurl.com/lcspygp)
I am also very interested in making custom buttons for clients as I own my own button machine. These buttons are 1.25” in diameter with a metal pin back. Custom buttons will usually run $10 for the art design in flat colors, plus another $1 per button ordered and shipping charges. Wholesale rates can be negotiated for orders over 30 buttons per design, and orders can be as low as one custom button.
2. Is there anything you won't do?
There is very, very little that I will not draw. I'll draw humans, anthros, animals, aliens, fan art, monster, original characters, SFW, NSFW, and most fetishes (including things like hardcore bondage and gore). I will NOT draw mecha, scat, and/or any clearly underage characters in sexual situations. If you have questions as to what I will and will not do, shoot me a message and I will be happy to give you an answer. Seriously though, it has to be pretty intense if I won't even take a crack at it.
3. Is there anything you love to draw/are really good at?
Plenty! I really like drawing anthros of any sort, Homestuck characters, and feminine characters. As for what I'm good at; I excel in limited palette pieces, artistic nudes, bondage, hair, and feet. If you're looking for anything like that, I will be more than happy to oblige.
4. How does the commission process go?
The process is pretty simple: You contact me over email stating you want a commission and describing what you want. I send back a price quote. Once I've been paid the agreed amount and details are sorted out, I will use any references you send me to create a piece for you. I may or may not send you progress shots or sketches depending on our agreement. After the work is completed, I will send you the finished work.
5. How can I contact you about a commission?
If you are interested in commissioning me, please send me an email at rin.wolfe{at}aol{.}com and place the word 'commission' in the subject of the message. I will respond to you as soon as I can. If you have any questions, you are more than free to send me a message, but I will not handle commission requests or quotes through over messages other an email.
6. What would make the price of a commission differ from the price stated above?
The price stated above is a base price for a single piece featuring up to two characters. Adding more characters or a background beyond the standards solid color or simple background will increase the price. Pieces that will be more labor intensive, such as those involving extremely intricate costuming, large landscapes or scenes, or group shots with an excessive number of characters will likely incur an additional cost as well.
7. How can I pay you and what is the payment process?
Outside of a convention, I will only take payment through my paypal address, which will be provided after we settle on a price. The only exception to this would be handing me payment in real life at a convention where I have a table, to be completed during or after the convention. All of my payment is in USD, and I do not take any kind of online-exclusive currency at the moment.
The payment process differs depending on the amount. For anything under $30, I require payment upfront. This is refundable in case I cannot complete the commission for whatever reason. For a commission over $30, I require half of my payment at the beginning, and half before you receive the final piece. The initial sum you pay is nonrefundable, unless I cannot complete the commission. This is simply my own insurance so that I do not lose money working on a complicated piece.
Traditional pieces will require a nonrefundable deposit at the beginning of the process to cover any material costs in the case that the commission cannot be completed.
If, for any reason, I cannot complete the commission in a reasonable time frame, I will contact you to work out issuing a refund.
8. What kind of references do you need?
I will require adequate photo or written references to complete the commission. If I can find photo references from a cursory online search (basically anything that isn't an original character), you will not need to send references. However, for original or obscure characters/objects/etc I will need you to send me photo references of this specific character/object/etc so that I can complete your commission to the best of my abilities. If no photo reference is available, a detailed written description (as well as possible approval of sketches) will be needed, unless I am designing a character for you.
9. What program do you use to draw, and what resolution/file type will my commission be?
I use Paint Tool SAI for the majority of my work, plus GIMP for text and effects. You can request a file type and resolution, but most work will be in a default .png file type, 300dpi resolution, and at least 1000x1000 px in size, if not larger. I can provide you with most file types at your request, with the exception of .sai and .psd files, as I will not give those out. 300dpi is the standard resolution for 'HD', but if you require something else, please state so before I begin working on your commission. I tend to draw my files very large, but I can compress them down to a smaller size if you wish after we are finished.
10. Can I request progress shots?
Yes, you may request progress shots. Please note that progress shots will be watermarked, and you do not have permission to post these anywhere online. If I find them posted, I will request them be taken down by the hosting site and I may choose not to complete the commission.
It's fine to request progress shots, especially of complicated pictures, but please use common sense. Having to stop several times in one session to give progress shots will only prolong your wait, and I have the right to not issue progress shots after excessive requests.
11. Can I post my commission on [insert site]?
You are free to post your finished commission anywhere you want as long as it follows these three rules:
1. You will credit me in the description of the work (ex. Linking to my Tumblr or website, stating my name and Tumblr).
2. You will not take credit for the artwork as your own.
3. You will not receive any financial compensation for posting the work (such as ad revenue, selling prints, etc).
It's also preferred and polite if you ask before posting the work anywhere. If you do not follow these three rules (ex. giving no credit, selling prints of the work), I will file request with the hosting site to get my work taken down, and I will definitely be noting down the name of the person who violated my terms. Finding out where a piece has been posted is very easy to uncover with the advent of the reverse image search on Google, so please keep that in mind.
Also note that, unless you request otherwise, I will be posting the commission on my Tumblr and other related art sites with a credit to any original characters in the description. If you would like for me not to post the piece (ex. it's a gift, it's personal), you are free to request so.
12. Can I commission you for other things such as writing, making art for my game, etc?
You are free to ask! I do enjoy writing and I may potentially be interested in making art for a game, illustrations for a book, and much more! If you are interested in anything that hasn't been listed here, send me an email at the address above and I will get back to you as to whether I would be interested, and we can work from there.
13. Do you offer any kind of discount?
The short answer is no. The only people who get automatic discounts are good friends, and if you have to ask whether you are a good friend, you are probably not (at least not yet!) I will sometimes have sales (e.g. $1 quick sketches), but these rates do not apply unless stated.
14. How do you determine your prices?
My prices are based on how long it might take to complete a piece. While commissions are not my primary form of income, they are very important in being able to save up for things that I need, and for having money to be comfortable. The calculated wage for my work is more than fair in terms of how long and hard I work to create something, and usually ends up being far less than what would be charged from commercial artists. As I progress and improve, prices are likely to increase, as my labor becomes more skilled. Traditional pieces cost more as I have more experience and training in traditional art, and because these pieces require using supplies which have to be occasionally replenished.
Back!
General | Posted 12 years agoWelp, it's been a weird little while.
I moved out with my fiance into a small condo we're renting from his family. I was busy unpacking and without internet for a bit and generally couldn't draw.
However, things are on the up and up! We have internet (though we are currently away house-sitting for his grandparents), and I have a way to draw now! We caved and bout a cheap laptop and determined that the reason my tablet wouldn't work is indeed my mouse. Because of savings and some good work weeks, we were able to afford the new system, which I am currently using for art. It's not great (and it actually uses Windows 8), but it's far better than nothing. This means that I will be officially opening commissions again in a few days/weeks.
We're currently saving up to go to Otakon, and cutting it pretty close. Hopefully we'll be paid a bit for house-sitting and will be able to cover the badges and room. Plus, we're already making plans for Katsucon artist alley next year! Lots of fun stuff to be had.
Anyway, that's all I have to say. Feel free to shoot me a message concerning commissions when that gets up, or just to chat!
Edit: As well, I've been going through a lot of self-reflection and discovery lately. I have updated my prefered gender pronouns to them/they/their. I would greatly appreciated being referred to as such versus my previous female pronouns. Thanks!

Partials Ahoy!
General | Posted 13 years agoToday, Wes and I are going to for partial fursuit materials. He decided we're starting on them, despite my protesting about money, to cheer me up. <3 I drew up some diagrams and stuff last night, and they should be fun to work on, if not frustrating. We're buying foam and stuff today and scouting for any decent fur. Hopefully I'll be awake, since I haven't slept tonight. My entire schedule is fucked and I've been sleeping an easy 12-16 hours a night, usually through out most of the daylight hours. That probably should concern me, but there's not much I can do about it.
Halloweed will be my 8 month mark with Wes and it seems like we just met yesterday! It's incredibly satisfying to be with someone who can be brutally real and honest and open with you and vice versa. Still, I feel that spark whenever we're together and I feel like a little kid again, in a good way. <3
It's also the anniversary for Cascade in about two and a half weeks. It still feels like that just happened, and I'm really hard-pressed to think it was an entire year ago...jeez. To think, a year ago I was living by myself in my old apartment where the utilities would go out from being unpaid. I rarely saw my dad or mom, who was fighting for her life through surgery. I was sick all the time and never went to school because I was always hungry and depressed and feeling the worst I've ever felt.
Now, I'm living with my dad, see my mom (who is getting out soon) once or twice a week, never have to worry about the power or internet or food. I still get sad, but I have my Wesley to make me happy again and I never go long without something good happening to me. I just have to think how different my life will be in another year!
So yeah. I'll try to be doing more art and maybe some progress shots of the partials when they start to take shape. Man, I have been feeling so nostalgic lately! It feels great.
