Got an art job!! Last Orders For Shop + Comms Closing
Posted 4 years agoHi guys!
I managed to get a freelance art job for a short film. It was my first day today and I'm a bit nervous but super excited as well. It ends late November but might be extended.
I'm going to be working full time so that means I wont be taking any commissions and personal projects will slow down as well.
My etsy shop will be closing on Saturday the 14th! If you want anything before December now's your chance to grab it! Etsy link: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/tashcrow

Update: Adopts, Personal work + Comms
Posted 4 years agoHi!
I've been working on a couple of adoptable's but since I'm going to be with family next week I figured it'll be better to upload them when I get back. It'll be an auction so I'll need to actually be around for it work. Jackalope characters if anyone's interested! Here's a preview on my twitter: https://twitter.com/tash_crow/statu.....56727498334210
These are traditional ink and watercolour, and though I'll be doing some digital clean up and edits, the new owners will also be getting the original art work sent to them as well!
Since these are more stylized and smaller I might make a more complex character later.
This week I'll be finishing those gryphons with watercolour. I'll try to get them done before I leave on Saturday but I might have to pick them up again after I get back.
I want to get this bird project finished eventually, though I think I'll have to redo some of them. I think I've settled on the idea of one main illustration of each mythical avian plus a spread of sketchbook paintings.
I'll probably open commissions next month! But just one or two slots at a time.

Time estimates
I’m taking on longer commissions again. Four slots!
In the past that sometimes leaves me feeling overwhelmed. So, I’m spacing out commissions with personal projects as well. So, one commission, one personal piece, another commission and so on.
This does mean it’ll take me longer to get through the queue. But hopefully not too long. I’m thinking max two and a half months to finish them all, but hopefully I’ll get through them faster than that. Also, I won’t be invoicing until I’m close to starting a commission.
Regular watercolour commissions are open again!
Stylized full bodies are £60
Half bodies are £60
Full bodies are £90
Base prices. More complex characters might have additional charges.
Paper and sizes
Smooth hot press – fabriano artistico (5 by 7 only) and arches for the larger options.
Textured cold press – canson heritage.
5 by 7 – single stylized characters and half bodies.
B5 – single full body. Two stylized characters or half bodies.
A4 – two full bodies.
Some exceptions may apply. Large wings and a spread-out pose might need more room.
Extra Characters
Only one extra character per commission! 70% of the base price.
Background Detail
Please note I don’t do full backgrounds!
But I can paint some background and prop details in a vignette style. Price depends on size and complexity. Best with natural details.
If a character is sitting or standing, I include some small, simple grass/ground details for free.
Extra characters and background details are also available for digital paintings!
Sketch and Watercolour Sheets. Characters and Concepts Designs
Please note, these won’t have wips/revisions!
These a4 sheets will have two full bodies and whatever else I can fit in between, usually a half body and a head shot.
You can get one to explore an existing character, or to help you figure out a new character or creature design. More info about them on my commission site.
Pencil drawings - £100
Watercolours - £220
Rules and Info
Will draw
Any animal/creature, anthro or human character. Android/cyborg's to an extent.
Original and fan characters.
Fan art (results will be better if I'm familiar with the franchise)
Won't Draw
Although I draw human characters I'm not comfortable with drawing real life people. Its a bit too personal for me and I'll be terrified of accidentally offending someone. So unless its "draw me as an animal" or something similar please don't ask me to draw you or a friend/family member.
Complex machinery, very complicated and detailed armor. (Might be able to do a simplified version)
Extreme gore (blood and small wounds are ok).
Nsfw, most fetishes and anything discriminatory.
I won’t heavily reference/copy another artist's, character, art style or pose.
By ordering a commission you agree to my tos
Please read the full tos before committing to order a commission: https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....f-service.html

Help me make a creature! Art game
Posted 4 years agoEdit
Closing suggestions! Lots of great entries and thanks for taking part c:
I'll do the random selections and start the critter tomorrow!
So after I get these charms done I want to do fun quick watercolour painting. Something to break in a fancy etchr perfect sketchbook I got at Christmas.
I think it would be fun to do something along the lines of those create a dragon, unicorn, etc games I've been seeing on twitter. Though this'll be a bit simpler.
Just comment on this journal with this filled out list of your suggestions. And to make it a bit more spontaneous I'll be randomizing all the suggestions from the different lists!
1. Animal Species
2. Texture - short fur, large scales, smooth skin etc
3. Distinctive feature. Can be a physical feature like extra limbs, or an ability like, frost breath or electricity. Can be natural or more fantasy based. Just nothing inappropriate.
I'll be selecting two animals and textures, and one distinctive feature for the final creature.
Restrictions
No parasites or anything like that! I wont be counting those as I really don't want to look up tapeworms and co for reference pics. I'm ok with adult insects/invertebrates but I'm best with vertebrate anatomy. Humans are allowed as suggestions but I won't necessarily make a typical anthro/furry from them. Prehistoric animals are fine! But no fantasy creatures are allowed. One list per person!

Digital Painting Commissions
I’ll also be offering digital painting options this round as I’ve gotten a bit more confident with painting in procreate and I’d like to get more practice!
Semi realistic, detailed style - £60 for a half body and £90 for a full body shot.

Fine Art Prints Coming Soon!
Posted 4 years agoSo since I made a bit more than I thought from the temp job and etsy sales I decided to invest in a canon pixma pro 100s! I'll be focusing on printing my more popular work but if there's anything you guys are particularly interested in, let me know as it'll help me decide!
I'm doing test prints and i'm really impressed so far! I'm still deciding on what exact paper I'll be getting for my prints but I'm hoping to start selling them on etsy in a week or two! I'll probably be offering 8 x 10 (inches) and smaller 5 x 7, or 4 x 6.
I'll be closing my inprnt shop: https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/tashcrow/ soon so if you want any prints of my work from there get them now! I wont be offering anything larger than 8 x 10 for my own prints due to space and shipping costs.

Postcard Commissions Are Open!
Posted 4 years agoJanuary/February commissions are now open! Feel free to ask any questions!
Commission site for more information and size examples https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....mmissions.html
Please read the full tos before ordering https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....f-service.html
Small postcard watercolour paintings for a flat rate of £55 GBP. Textured cold press or smooth hot press, and semi realistic or stylized. Includes edits to the sketch stage.
Three slots! One character only.
I'm just offering these small watercolours this month to keep things simple as its been a while and I don't want to overwhelm myself. I might open for other options like sketch sheets in the next few months and if I can get a bit more consistent and confident with digital paintings I might open for those as well!
Examples-
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39371056/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37973316/
This is just to show the smooth paper option! It won't be inked and will just be pencil and watercolour like the others https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37941692/
No price difference for stylized or semi realistic styles. But if you go for a semi realistic style it might only be a half body painting! If it’s a character like a little garden bird or a mouse I’ll be able to fit them in. But if it has humanoid proportions it’ll just be half body. If its something with longer/bigger proportions it may be even less. Feel free to ask about what I can fit in!
Backgrounds - Depending on how much space is left I'll include some simple background detail and colours to place the character more. Please let me know if you don't want any background colours or details!
Shipping Price - Tracking included!
Uk - £4
Europe - £7
USA, Canada and everywhere else - £8
Process and Edits
You’ll get a chance to check the rough sketch for the basic pose and proportions. Once that’s approved, I’ll finish the drawing and I can make smaller changes digitally.
You'll get two rounds of changes for the rough sketch and the finished sketch stages, four in total. If more adjustments are needed I will have to start charging extra. Once the final drawing is approved it will be transferred onto the postcard and there can be no more changes to the drawing.
Once its transferred and painted I can’t make changes to the original but I can make small corrections or simple colour adjustments digitally.
Upon completion I will send you a high resolution file of the painting.
If you've paid for shipping I'll send the postcard reinforced with sturdy card and kept waterproof with cellophane, and give you your tracking number.
Will draw:
Any animal/creature, anthro or human character. Android/cyborg's to an extent.
Original and fan characters.
Fan art (results will be better if I'm familiar with the franchise)
Won't Draw:
Although I draw human characters I'm not comfortable with drawing real life people. Its a bit too personal for me and I'll be terrified of accidentally offending someone. So unless its "draw me as an animal" or something similar please don't ask me to draw you or a friend/family member.
Complex machinery, very complicated and detailed armour. (Might be able to do a simplified version)
Extreme gore (blood and small wounds are ok).
Nsfw, most fetishes and anything discriminatory.
I won’t heavily reference/copy another artist's, character, art style or pose.

(If you are looking for a final, finished design these aren’t the best commissions for it! But they’ll be fine if you just want to explore some ideas.)

By ordering a commission you agree to my tos https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....f-service.html

Happy Holidays + Update
Posted 4 years agoI hope everyone had a lovely Christmas/holiday despite covid! Some good and bad things so let’s get the bad over first-
The lockdowns in the uk were pretty sudden so me and my sister couldn’t spend Christmas or New Years with my parents. I was looking forward to seeing them again but its just not worth risking it especially with the new strain. It sucks but on the bright side I had a lovely Christmas with my boyfriend instead and I’ll be spending New Years with him too!
My mum can’t get the vaccine. Until this is figured out, hopefully. In the uk the nhs has been told not to give the vaccine to anyone who has a significant allergy as some folk with allergies have been having bad reactions to the vaccine. My mum has a lethal allergy to peanuts and latex. She’s understandably worried as am I. So guys, please, even when the vaccines roll out please continue to be mindful for the safety of others not so fortunate.
Brexit. Along with all the other shit it’s going to cause, Brexit might screw with my shop because of the new taxes. Shipping will me more expensive at the very least. So cheers to anyone who voted for that.
Now to the good news! That’s me finished my temp job since the lockdowns kind of ended it early. It was tough at some points but honestly the staff were so nice and the manager’s just the sweetest person. Everyone just worked really well together, and I appreciate how hard that is to find in retail. Especially now!
Still, I’m going to enjoy a bit of a rest for a few days and then I’ll get back to focusing on my projects!
I’m itching to try some new supplies out. I got some roman szmal watercolours from my boyfriend that I’m eager to try out. And during the black Friday sales I got some more etchr sketchbooks and brushes. Including the fancy signature sketchbook with fabriano paper. Anyone else get nice art supply hauls this Christmas?
Still thinking of opening small commissions in a couple of weeks. Like small-ish watercolours. Something with full colour that isn’t going to be too expensive or time consuming. Would folk be interested in that?

Art and Shop Update
Posted 5 years agoSo my part time job is now a full time job with pretty irregular working days. So I'm gonna have to change my art plans again.
Trying to do longer digital paintings is absolutely not working. I can maybe get a 1 to 2 hours block of working in a night and i'm pretty tired from standing up all day so my concentration and decision making is ...not great. I might try to do studies and little practice paintings after work but I probs wont upload these. And watercolours on my days off. So I don't get too rusty but yeah art updates are really going to slow down until the contract ends in January.
I usually try to get etsy orders out twice every week but depending on my schedule it'll likely only be once per week.
Not gonna lie, if I knew it would end up like this I wouldn't have taken the job. But because of covid lock-downs the company is unlikely to take on more staff so I doubt I'll be kept on. So I'll just have to power through this and get paid while I can. Feeling rough cause I hate retail. I'm a slow working introvert so Christmas retail is hell but there isn't anything else I can do. But Its not the worst thing all things considering. I’m lucky I got this position in the first place! Plus, once its over I'll have some savings so I can relax and concentrate on my portfolio.
Ps. This isn't a dig at the manager. I'm really grateful for the employment and they can't control the situation with multiple staff off sick. Plus me being employed at the absolute worst time.

Commissions Closed and Updates
Posted 5 years agoManaged to get a part time job!!!
Just got it this morning and I'm starting on Thursday! I'm so relieved cause job hunting was starting to feel pretty hopeless. Its with a company I'm familiar with so I'm pretty happy about it.
Its a Christmas temp job so I'm going to take advantage of this as much as I can and just focus on portfolio work in my spare time until it ends. So i'm closing commissions until January. Sorry if anyone was thinking about getting one! I'll still be running my etsy store and I might do the odd adoptable.
Speaking of etsy. I'm aware I'm running low on the monster hunter charms, so I've ordered some more and I'll hopefully get them soon! I've also ordered some new stickers.
I think I'm going to have to dial back the mythical bird zine into something smaller. The a4/a5 sizes are just taking a bit too long to make and this was just supposed to be a fun little project. I like the idea of just doing mini watercolours like this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37973316/ cause they're just so satisfying to do and I can usually get them done in a day or two. Also the idea of a mini a6 printed zine is pretty cute.

Posted 5 years agoCommissions
I’ve got a couple of slots open! And I would absolutely love to draw any spooky Halloween themed commission ideas. Or Monsterfying your characters, anything like that!
Order now to get it in time for Halloween.
Commission info, examples, form, tos and availability: https://tashartcommissions.weebly.com/
Please make sure to read the tos before you order, thank you!
Updates
You’ve probably noticed I’m experimenting with digital again. I feel a bit more confident in my painting so I’m ready to try and tackle it again. Partly for portfolio and employment opportunities and partly to learn about rendering and lighting. The thing that’s most daunting to me is the amount of choice with digital. I don’t really know what “look” to go for. So it’ll probably take some more awkward experimenting to find something that feels right.
But for folk who like my watercolours, don’t worry! I plan to keep going with them along side my digital work. And I’m still working on that mythical birds zine!
Not much luck on the job hunt, which is expected with covid. I got a couple of interviews but that’s it. And not gonna lie, I don’t really want a retail job during covid. But I’m getting worried about my future. Its made me want to try for some entry level generalist art jobs again, which is why I’m thinking about portfolios.

Character name
Character species - If a mythical or made up creature please note real animal inspirations as well. Especially if its heavily stylized.
Character info – Just a few notes on their personality, what they do and whatever else may be relevant for the artwork. Too little or too much info might make it difficult to get a grasp of your character.
Character refs – if you don’t have any refs please include a description with photos and inspiration images. Please note, its in my tos not to copy or heavily reference someone else’s style or character design. These are just to give me an idea of the kind of look you want.
Preferences – What would you like the character to be doing in the artwork? If the description is too complex or controlling, I might have difficulty making a good piece of art.
I can work with artistic liberty but please include the kind of mood you’d like for the art. Energetic and happy! Or sad and listless, angry and tense etc. This is so I can more confidently start the work with a jumping off point with more of an idea of what you want.
Artistic liberty with character designs
How comfortable are you with me adjusting your character’s design? Some folk want my own take while others might not want me to change things too much. With certain commission types I may have to simplify features, or colours and markings. Stylized and traditional painting commissions in particular.
So let me know if there’s anything in particular you want to keep or change! I tend to go for a more semi feral look with anthro characters. I Prefer more natural colours and markings. And I like natural and fantasy/imaginative settings.
Commission type
What type of commission would you like? If there are different options, please include which one!
Full body, half body or stylized?
Want the original shipped?

European union (tracked + signed) - £9
USA, Canada + Elsewhere (tracked + signed) - £10.

Any other necessary info?
Is it for someone’s birthday? (I can put off uploading it until a certain date)
Is it going to be used for anything? Does it need certain dimensions for digital files?

Wip’s and Edits
I send wip’s throughout the commission. The sooner you respond, the sooner I finish your commission. Please don't take a week to respond as that can really mess up my schedule. But take a moment to make sure you’re happy with everything.
Drawing stage - Two rounds of revisions for the rough sketch stage. For posing and proportions. One more round when the drawing is finished for more precise digital edits.
Digital colour - Two rounds to check colours, markings and shading.

Additional rounds of edits will be priced depending on complexity.

Posted 5 years agoI've added some recent artwork to my originals shop on storenvy
The BNA paintings, the lichen dragon, fairy harpy and the little peryton!
If you want to buy some of my artwork but don't want to spend quite that much I've also got my inprnt store for prints and my Etsy for smaller charms and stickers etc.

Update. Changes and Commission Plans
Posted 5 years agoHi! I hope everyone is doing ok, despite the state of the world just now.
So I’m going to be honest, I’m not really making a lot of money these days. I’m ok, but I feel like I’ve just been keeping my head above water. Nothing is really growing. And well, I’m 29 and my thirties are just around the corner.
Returning to retail. Hopefully.
I’m looking for retail jobs again. Of course, I don’t really want to, but I need more stability, so unless I get some miraculous art job offer its back to retail I go. Thankfully, I’m not in a bad situation so I can afford to be a bit picky and try to find something that suits me. In the past, I made the mistake of taking the first job that got back to me and ended up in a really shit position and only got half my pay. Tbh that’s why I’ve avoided retail for so long. If I could get a part time job that’s close by, I’d still be able to work on my art, keep going with my art career and my little etsy store. Though I’d be useless at a fast-paced coffee or restaurant/takeaway place so that eats into my options quite a lot.
Commissions
Getting a job like that could take a while and I’ll still need to support myself until then. I’ve been getting slower with art rather than faster but I feel like I’ve been improving and developing more patience, so I don’t think that’s a bad thing. But I’ll be upgrading my prices to reflect that. I’ve been timing myself more and on a lot of occasions I’ve been charging below the minimum wage for the uk. Woops. Btw I don’t want anyone who’s commissioned me recently to feel bad as this is completely my fault for not noticing sooner.
I’ll be changing the way I take commissions as well. As I want to practice and do personal/portfolio work more. When I take a few slots, I feel like I need to get them done as soon as I can. I tell myself I can work on other stuff later, and then I don’t, or just get scraps of unsatisfactory work done before I feel I have to take on more commissions.
So I’ll try just opening one or two smaller slots at a time to work on in-between personal projects. I’ll see how that goes and if I can balance things better that way. I’m not crazy about waiting lists, so I’m afraid you’ll have to keep an eye out for commission posts if you want one! But I’ll probably have a heads up post a few days before so folk can have a think about what they want before committing to buy one. If I manage to get a part time job I likely won’t be able to take on commissions. That’s partly why I don’t want to take on waiting lists.
To begin with I’d like to start with some small traditional “wing its” and see about opening more complex commissions later.
Personal work
I’m planning on making a small zine project, with the theme of fantasy birds and bird hybrids. I’m still figuring out the best way to do it, but its exciting to think about! That little fairy harpy was to do with it.
I’ve been using my little a6 sketchbook a lot and it’s a habit I want to keep up. A quiet hour or two evening sessions of just getting some ideas out. I treated myself to a hot press etchr sketchbook so I can add some watercolour or postercolour as well.
Anyway sorry, that was probably a lot to read!

Posted 5 years agoI'm think of applying there and setting up a print store?
I've heard the print quality is really good and I've ordered a print from the site so I can see it for myself (might take a while to arrive in the uk though).
"gallery-quality giclée art print on 100% cotton rag archival paper, printed with archival inks" Sounds damn nice and since it would be kind of expensive and risky getting the same kind of quality printed at a print store, it might be worthwhile trying. And 50% going to the artist (at least for the art prints) is why I'm looking at Inprnt in particular.
I'd still sell small postcard prints myself as that's easier to manage and keep at home. But probably not as much variety as I'd have to order them myself.
If I do end up going for it what kind of art would you like to see? Either work I've already done or something new that would work well as a print.
And if anyone has bought prints or sold them through it, what was your experience? Good or bad?
The only draw back is international shipping, which kinda sucks for anyone like me, not living in the USA.
It costs around £12 for shipping to the uk for example.

Username/s
Paypal address
Character name
Character species (if a mythical or made up creature please note real animal inspirations as well)
Character info – Just a few notes on their personality, what they do and whatever else may be relevant for the artwork.
1. Just make necessary adjustments to fit in your style and traditional medium limitations.
2. Its ok to change them up a bit.
3. Go nuts/ I want you to redesign them.
If you go for 2 or 3 let me know if there’s anything in particular you want to keep or change! I tend to go for a more semi feral look with anthro characters. I Prefer more natural colours and markings. And I like natural and fantasy/imaginative settings.
Commission type
What type of commission would you like? If there are different options, please include which one!
Full body, half body or stylized?
Want the original shipped?
Traditional commissions can be sent with an extra post and packaging fee.
UK (signed, first class) - £3
European union (tracked + signed) - £9
USA, Canada + Elsewhere (tracked + signed) - £10.
If yes, please include your address!
Any other necessary info?
Is it for someone’s birthday? (I can put off uploading it until a certain date)
Is it going to be used for anything? Does it need certain dimensions?
How to Order
Read my TOS: https://tashartcommissions.weebly.c.....f-service.html
Email me at tashcrow.commissions[at]gmail.com to claim a slot!
While I'm happy to answer questions about availability and costs please only book a slot when you are ready to pay.
Please include above info.
Payment up front via paypal invoice. I’ll invoice you once I know what you want and when I'm ready to start your commission.
If you take a slot and don’t respond after a week (before payment) I’ll have to remove your slot.
Please tell me if somethings come up/you’ve changed your mind about the commission.
Wip’s and Edits
I send wip’s throughout the commission. The sooner you respond, the sooner I finish your commission. Please don't take a week to respond as that can really mess up my schedule. But take a moment to make sure you’re happy with everything.
Price includes two major edits for each stage (excluding paintings and inks). I might charge for additional edits depending on complexity.
Traditional paintings will have very limited edits due to the medium. I can change colours and little details digitally once the painting is done. If you’re quite particular about your character’s colours and details this might not be the best option for you.

Short Break Then Commissions
Posted 5 years agoHi guys! I was going to open commissions on Monday but since things are starting to relax a bit in Scotland I’m going to be visiting my folks for a week instead. My dad’s just going to drive me home to prevent any more risk and my folks have been pretty thorough about preventing any spread. It’ll be good to finally see them and their new dog!
So I’ll be opening commissions on the 29th instead!
I’m going to be restricting some options but adding poster colour commissions. Just small stylized characters for now! And I think I said in the last post but digital colour can now be added to traditional sketches.
I know I said I was going to keep doing ink commissions but the more I think about it, the more nerve wracking ink as commissions is to me. I’ve started enjoying it for myself and I don’t mind if I make the odd mistake when its my own work but it just feels too risky when I’m working for someone else and I’d rather not stress out that much. Maybe cleaned up pencil lines or coloured pencil might be a better alternative in the future?
I’ll be restricting background options from now on I’m afraid (with the exception of pencil drawings.) To be honest, I’m not sure how to price them. The time it takes me to paint a bg is a lot but I’m not that great at them yet and I think having commission clients being able to choose whatever they want was biting off more than I could chew. (Not the client’s faults at all! But I have a lot of difficulty saying no.) Backgrounds are still something I want to improve on though! So I might have ych-ish auctions or slots with the bg already planned out, that would be a lot more do-able for me.
I’ve closed my etsy but I’ll open it again when I get back!

June Update and BLM
Posted 5 years agoBLM Black lives Matter. If you don't agree please unfollow me, I don't want to be associated with racists and bigots. And if you can look at all the videos of horrific police brutality. Beating, macing and shooting peaceful protesters, journalists and medics. Not feel an immense sadness and rage, and justify it because of property damage? Then you can piss off too. ACAB.
I'm just a white girl from Scotland but I'm trying to educate myself and do better. I don't have much money or a big following but I've tried to give what I can. I knew things in the states were bad but I've really had my eyes opened as to how bad they really were. Also learned some nasty shit about my own country. Which obviously wasn't perfect to begin with.
So you might have noticed I've not been as active lately. I've been doing some other work. And in between that I've been (very slowly) trying to teach myself zbrushcore. I've been making myself a little crow but its still in the ugly stage so no wip pics for now lol. I'm a really slow learner when it comes to 3d and it intimidates the hell out of me but I'm starting to figure things out!
My boyfriend starting 3d printing a bunch of stuff at the beginning of the covid lock down and I wanted to make my own little figure to print and paint so that's what brought this on. Its purely self indulgent just now but if it turns out ok I might think of selling more prints on my etsy?
Commissions Update
I said I would open commissions uh last month? Sorry about that, I've been kind of busy. I intend to open later in the month. But I just want to get some more up to date examples and some personal work done before I open again. So hopefully within two weeks.

Updates and Commission Plans for May
Posted 5 years agoHi!
I hope everyone is coping with current events and keeping safe!
The end of April is coming and I've got enough work to keep me busy so I'm closing commissions until May. But I've got some ideas brewing until then.
Digitally coloured commissions: I had a nice break from digital work, but I think I learned that I mainly dislike drawing digitally. And that I'm still ok to colour digitally. I'd probably go for a watercolour/coloured pencil look for these. So if I can get some new examples done I'll try to open for those for next month!
Traditional wing it commissions: Slightly cheaper sketch and watercolour painting commissions in exchange for artistic liberty and no edits or revisions. I'll still be trying to do my best work for these but I'll be able to get these done much faster! I think this would be a fun option for folk who wouldn't mind my take on their characters. But I wouldn't recommend this for folk who are particular about thier character's design or want more creative control.
Removing Ink and Wash commissions: Kinda hard decision because the effect can look quite nice but its been more difficult than I thought. I think I struggle with traditional colours when I'm using black lines? I'm not sure what it is but I've had to completely redo pieces a few times due to bad colour decisions. So I'm removing them for now, sorry about that! Ink options are still available and I'd like to use ballpoints a bit more c:
Patreon Plans: I'm not going to make one just yet. But I've been thinking about it a lot lately. One idea is having a monthly themed illustration (probs just a full body character painting to begin with) with more in depth wip's with explanations of my process for patreons. Patreons will also be able to vote for a theme like prompts for a creature design or an illustration. Maybe simple sketch and painting rewards kind of like the wing it commissions. I would try to use the same monthly theme to make things a bit more interesting! Physical rewards would be something to think about, but not until I'm already making a decent amount on patreon.
Just throwing out some ideas for now! I need to test things out so I don't overwhelm myself. The goal of this would be to get some support for personal projects and to give myself the opportunity to experiment more.

April Commissions
Posted 5 years agoSorry for the wait, I've finally opened again! My slots will be a bit looser without an actual number this time. I'll close when I've got enough work for the month. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35644885/
Like most people, me and my boyfriend have been effected financially by covid 19. We're not in a desperate situation yet but any savings we could get would be greatly appreciated! I've also got my etsy shop open: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/tashcrow
Thankfully no one I know has caught it and I hope it stays that way. Stay safe guys! Try not to go out if you don't have to.
You'll have noticed I don't have digital options this time round. That's because I'm taking a break from digital to focus traditional skills for a good while.
I’ve been mulling over this for a while and I realize this is a bit of a risk but I really prefer doing traditional art these days. I’m definitely not one of these “traditional art is better” types since digital has helped me so much over the years. I love seeing other artists digital work and I still plan to use it in my workflow and specific projects that might need it. Its more of a preference for me. The more I’ve gotten into it and gotten more confident with it the less I want to work digitally. And to be honest I've not been really satisfied with my digital work lately. So I'm going to work mainly traditionally for a month or two and see how I feel.
Please note, I’ll still be using photshop for editing sketches!

If you don't have the funds but are still interested you can reserve a slot for the next commission opening (1-2 months.) When I'm about to open commissions again I'll email you to confirm you still want the commission. If you don't respond to this email within 3 days I will have to assume you are no longer interested and will cancel your slot. So please pay attention to your emails!
Please include character info, any references and the type of commission you want. If you don’t have references then mood boards (3-5 images for inspiration) and clear, to the point descriptions would be great.

Email me at tashcrow.commissions[at]gmail.com to claim a slot!
While I'm happy to answer questions about availability and costs please only book a slot when you are ready to pay.
Wip’s and Edits:
I send wip’s throughout the commission. The sooner you respond, the sooner I finish your commission. Please don't take a week to respond as that can really mess up my schedule. But take a moment to make sure you’re happy with everything.
Price includes two major edits for each stage (excluding paintings and inks). I might charge for additional edits depending on complexity.
Traditional paintings will have very limited edits due to the medium. I can change colours and little details digitally once the painting is done. If you’re quite particular about your character’s colours and details this might not be the best option for you.
Similarly, traditional sketches are more awkward to edit and I might have to make digital edits as well.
Shipping Info:
Traditional commissions can be sent with an extra post and packaging fee.
UK (signed, first class) - £3
European union (tracked+signed) - £9
USA, Canada + Elsewhere (tracked+signed) - £10.
Shop break and updates
Posted 5 years agoShop break and updates! Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/tashcrow
I’m closing the shop on Friday night, 20th of December. Reopening in early January.
I’ll be getting more MHW charms but I’ll be putting the price up a bit. So this is the last chance to get them at the current price!
When I first priced them I really didn’t think about the cost of the little scale charms, key rings and the etsy fee. Sorry about that, that’s my bad. I wont be making more of the anime animal or pokemon charms, so the price of those will stay the same.
After the Christmas break I want to make charms with jjba dragon stands (I’m predictable) But I think it would be a really fun design project.
Also quick question. Do you prefer wooden charms or acrylic?

Commission Updates Coloured Sketches and More
Posted 6 years agoNeatened up my commission info. Added coloured sketch options for detailed sketches (they'll be the same as the stylized ones) and added prices for inks and ink washes!
My commission site has been updated as well. There's more info about materials, choices and tos. Commission site: https://tashartcommissions.weebly.com/
I said I was visiting my folks this weekend but that had to be cancelled because of a nasty flue. Instead, I'll be spending a week with them starting Saturday now that they're better. These commissions wont be started until Monday the 25th but I'll be responding to emails while I'm away!
Best with:
Imaginative fantasy themes. Nature themes. Creatures. Natural, earthy colours and markings.
Will draw:
Any animal/creature, anthro or human. Android/cyborg's to an extent.
Original, existing, and fan characters. Portraits and pets.
Won't Draw:
Complex machinery, very complicated and detailed armor. (Might be able to do a simplified version)
Extreme gore (blood and small wounds are ok).
Nsfw (other than tasteful nudity), most fetishes and anything discriminatory.
I won’t heavily reference/copy another artist's, character, art style or pose.

November Commissions Open! Pokemon Discount
Posted 6 years agoJust two slots are open! I’ll open more once I finish these though
Been feeling a bit scattered this month but things are calming down again. I’ll be starting these next Tuesday (12th) when I get back from Inverness again. The commission money will be going towards Christmas presents and new things for the shop!
Since I’m hyped for Sword and Shield any pokemon commissions will get a 15% discount! Any pokemon or pokemon fusions. Not counting fakemon or trainers. I’m best with animal based and anthro ones. Object ones like magnemite would be difficult for me unless I change the design to something more natural.
Would anyone want a slightly experiment ink/ ink and watercolour wash like this? http://www.furaffinity.net/view/33487459/ The base price would be slightly more expensive than my sketches and you can check the sketch before I ink it. I got watercolour paper that’s the same as in that sketchbook and I’m itching to try it out!
My mini Eldegoss and Corviknight watercolour paintings are on sale in my etsy if anyone wants to give them a new home! https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/tashcrow
Or you could commission a mini painting of your own.
