Hey, howdy, what's up? It's been a while, huh?

Sorry I've not been posting much art here lately. For some reason my standards are different for myself on a gallery site than on social media. (I think I feel more like a guest and like I should be better behaved? IDK.) So I was waiting until I'd drawn something "good enough" to post here, but I've not drawn any high-effort stuff in a while, so I let my gallery die. Whoops!

I was thinking of posting a big doodle dump here all at once, but that's gonna have to wait now because my main computer is currently broken, and the SSD with all of my art on it isn't compatible with my backup computer (no m.2 slot :C), and my latest backup on a compatible drive is a year out of date. Oops!

I guess I have one drawing on hand that's "good enough" that I could post, but it's not my usual brand. Drew a diaper for a friend's birthday. Sometimes drawing your friends' kinks is fun. :P

Oh yeah! I never made an update here after my surgery a month ago. Oops!
Anyway, surgery went well, and I didn't end up with facial paralysis. 🥳🥳🥳

Now that I don't have a massive tumor on my face, nobody stares and gawks or makes rude comments or asks unwanted questions at me in public anymore, and also I look mostly like myself again for the first time in years. and TBH it's been kinda disconcerting, but also a welcome change because I HATED not looking like myself and being a public spectacle every time I go on a walk or buy cat food. :'D

The only real complications have been that the left side of my jaw would cramp up whenever I started eating, but that's almost entirely gone away now, and that I have no feeling in my left ear, but that's supposed to correct itself within the next 17 months.
Also the inside of my left cheek is sometimes slightly dry, but TBH I assumed it'd be MUCH worse after losing a salivary gland, so I'm not complaining. :P

Also, not directly related to the surgery, but I desperately need a haircut. I was very distracted by medical stuff last year, so I've not had one since like, May. And now I've gotta wait because I don't feel comfortable having clippers and scissors so close to my incisions until they're 10000% healed up. Oops! :'D

Oh yeah! and something I forgot to mention is that my hearing's better on that side now!
I got stung by a wasp behind that ear YEARS ago, and my ear's felt like it was full of fluid and my hearing's been coming and going ever since, and I guess it was finally able to drain itself without that massive parotid gland in the way. :'D
I hope I get used to this new loudness sooner than later, because I've been getting overwhelmed by loud sounds more easily lately, and it was already easy to get overwhelmed on days where I was completely deaf on that side. Oops!

Heya, howdy. I guess I usually make a "birthday on the 29th! :D" journal in November, don't I? This is that journal!

Anyway, sorry for the lack of uploads in the last year or so. I slowed down because I've had a massive art block for a long time, but now I'm not even sure I should be posting here, what with the staff's whole "one person mass reported babyfurs, and we also dislike babyfurs, so, after hitting the donation goal, we changed the rules so the false reports would be valid, but then people started calling us out and taking their donations back, so we've temporarily stopped enforcing the new rule, but we have no plans to actually permanently change it" thing. oHo
IDK. I do not enjoy puritans constantly trying to sanitize the internet. Just let us blacklist keywords and remove blocked users from the search, and that instantly solves your problem. Let people piss their pants. It's not hurting anyone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, I've been WAY more active over on Bluesky. I feel Weird™ posting every random doodle on a gallery site, but social media is different because I have no standards there. 😎


Now for a life update, I guess:
I'm going in for surgery in December, exactly one week after my birthday.
I have a rather large (but benign) tumor that desperately needs to be dealt with, and I'm really not looking forward to it. 🙃
They said that partial facial paralysis is a possible (but unlikely) outcome, and that it won't necessarily be permanent if it happens, but I'm still kinda terrified. 🙃🙃
Also, I'll be losing a salivary gland (it's what has the tumor), so I'll probably have a dry mouth for the rest of my life. Fun. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

But, yeah, this is supposed to be a birthday journal, so here's my ko-fi link that I link to every birthday. :P

UPDATE: May 17th, 2024:
So, this journal is a bit outdated now. You no longer need an invite to join Bluesky, and Twitter's finally reached the point where it's no longer technically usable. Just gives me an error saying that my browser is too secure. 🙃

So, I was planning on fully abandoning Twitter by August 14th, the anniversary of when I joined Bluesky, but it seems that Elon wanted me out sooner. Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

So, um, Twitter's always been slowly crashing and burning, but it started accelerating at a ridiculous rate as soon as Emperor Godbaby bought it, and it's gone from kinda sucking to really sucking.
Twitter's kinda been my main place to exist for the past few years since Tumblr and deviantArt and a certain Mastodon instance all shot themselves in the foot, so I'm not really enjoying this at all. 🙃

Anyway, I'm mostly on Bluesky at the moment.
I know it being invite-only kinda sucks, and I'd invite everyone if I could, but it's the most Twitter-like twitterlike that I've used so far, and it's also the one with more of my friends and mutuals, so that makes it feel less lonely to me than the alternatives.

Anyway, follow me there if you can, but don't fret about it if you can't. I'll try to keep posting doodles on Twitter for a while as long as it's technically usable, and also here when I think they're actually worth posting.

("Technically usable" probably won't last long though, considering that he's threatened to completely remove the block button, and I already have to repeatedly re-block certain accounts that keep magically unblocking themselves. Once that button is gone, I'm out of there forever. 🙃)



Also, please nobody tell me to try mastodon or tumblr or dA again. Anyone who suggests that will, in fact, go to hell before they die. Thanks. :)

As usual, I'm just making a new birthday journal so the one from last year won't be featured anymore. Also as usual, I took an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to post a new one because I never use journals. :D

So, I guess I'll be 30 on the 29th? And I so very rarely use journals that my last birthday journal is still up? Like, I have such an aversion to writing journals (my brain shuts down like I'm writing an essay) that it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out *how* to make a new journal, and I briefly wondered if FA did away with the button when I wasn't looking. Oops!

Anyway, I feel like a lot has happened with me in this last year, but also like nothing's happened at all?
Like, I had a job for a few months, but conditions were Very Unsafe™, so I'd already quit by early April. Since then, I've mostly just been sitting around at home and refreshing Twitter all day. oHo

I thought I had more to say about the year I had, but I guess I really don't without rambling about nothing? And even though I've already said barely anything, this is probably the longest journal I've ever written on any art site in the history of the universe?

Anyway², it kinda sucks that I spent the last 2 years of my 20s in a pandemic. I didn't even have time to get used to being 28, and now I'm a week from 30? Not a fan. oHo

Just one more year until I'm Officially Old™. Oh no! :D

Anyway, I don't actually have anything to say because I'm bad with words. Draw cool animals in underwear.

Can you believe I stopped aging 4 years ago and have been 24 this whole time, and that I'm definitely not slowly creeping closer and closer to 30? Weird, huh? :D
