The one I blame for my losing my job 4 years ago, has passed on...
I'm talking about my laptop people, lighten up.
Damn thing just up and died on me, right when I need it most - To fend off mind destroying boredom while I'm being forced to do 'training' which is pretty much just me sitting in a room of total jerks from 9:30-15:30, reading Metro [the free commuters newspaper] and scanning the jobsites.
Jobsearch takes all of half an hour if you really scour.
Reading the Metro, might kill another hour, two if you do the suduko in the back.
That still leaves a lot of time, time I'd intended to fill doing 3D work on my lappy.
All is not lost though, I'm watching a similar model on ebay, and if I get it I'm going to make a working laptop out of the two.
After that, I'm gonna airbrush it. Give it a riveted aluminium plate look or something. Maybe steamtech it up.
What do you guys think? What would =you= like to see on your laptop?
If it turns out ok, I'll post pics ^_^

Excitement = BAD
Posted 16 years agoI am never going to get excited over anything ever again.
Doing so only sets you up for dissapointment.
My monitor arrived while I was out.
When I got home and saw the huge box I was excited.
I cleared my desk off, ready to recieve the monster of a monitor, 'cos this thing is big, my excitement growing as I was moments away from plugging it in.
Then my brother takes a look and with one statement turned my excitement into blind, furious rage.
What'd he say? "Theres a big crack in the screen" and indeed there was.
...
Maybe if I get a refund on it, I'll get myself some more ram -_-

Well, on March 19th, since I had a little money for my birthday, I figured I'd treat myself to another piece of computer kit to go with my new rig.
Nice machine as it is, a 1280X1024 LCD is rather, normal, so I went looking up market.
I found a 2048X1536@80hz monitor, true its CRT but at that res I really wouldnt care. Anyway,you dont really need to antialise on a CRT ;)

Well, I went ahead and bought it on the 19th.
Delivery note said 6-8 working days.
Here I am 14 working days later, and the soddin' seller hasnt even replied to my mails asking if he's sent the damn thing or not.
Considering the size of it, it has a 22" screen, combined with the price for postage, I'd have expected it to be sent by courier. It doesnt take 14 working days for a bloody courier to run something from one end of the country to the other! >_<
Even Royal Mail isnt this bad...
If I havent at least heard from him by Monday when I get home, he can kiss his precious 100% feedback goodbye.

Posted 17 years agoI'm still around, still without a job or any real direction in my life... or even motivation really.
I've got some pictures on the go, and I'm surrounded by a bunch of foam and bits of a fursuit head I'm trying to build.

Posted 18 years agoWell, once again I've had to pull my life from the fire... quite literaly.
A while back, my server blew up... I found it'd shut itself down so I turned it back on and the PSU started burning. Since then its been one thing after another, the next day my connection started getting as jumpy as a flea in a raid factory.
I replaced the PSU, and found the motherboard was dead. I replaced that, and found the RAM was dead too... replaced that, and windows wouldnt boot so repaired that, then spent a few days trying to figure out why my networked drives wouldnt work. Tracked that down to an oversight on my part concerning my firewall. Anyways, its finaly back up for all the good it does... cant serve anything with a connection thats down so often.
I've been wondering if its down to my ISP, 'cos I get a lot of "PPP Server down" messages, or it just stalls at "PPP sync", or if its just down to the phonelines and exchange... there's been a fleet of Brittish Telecom vans scuttling about latley.
Had a job interview recently as well for, of all the irony.. data recovery.
I didnt get it anyways... got the letter last Thursday.

Well, here I am, no job, no real likleyhood of finding one... plenty of drive but a lack of those very expensive bits of paper that say I can do things...
I'm looking into making my own business up, but have you ever looked at what it takes? I'm not stupid but I just cant fathom that kind of legaleese...
If theres anyone in the UK reading this and you know about how to start a business, get in touch? ^_^'
I'll have some more artwork posted sometime soon, I'm still sorting out the stuff from my old site, thumbnailing them and stuff.
