NOW Moving Forward: First Steps, New Approach, And MORE.

About six months ago, I had posted a journal that aired out how I felt about 2024, and how I felt about 2023. I was mentally just in an ABSOLUTE awful place. That is to say, I'm still dealing with some of the things mentioned previously; there's the pile that's still being chipped away at, and there's still the matter of ADHD. There's also still the self-isolation.
...But now they're not as bad as they were. ADHD is STILL kind of a bitch, but I have an approach for that now. Same goes for the pile of stuff I owe. As for the isolation, It's become less of a way to shut myself out and more of a way to, just, lock in. So that's what I've been doing the past couple months. I told myself this would be the summer I get it together, and the summer I start tearing away at the pile full force (or as full a force as I can do with being a retail worker help me get off this hellish ride) in hopes that I can at last put 2023 behind me. And it's. It's ACTUALLY been WORKING. I recently finished up a big project I owe, in the process of drafting out another owed larger project, and moving on to smaller owed comms in between. I'm not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel yet, by ANY MEANS but IT'S FINALLY A START.
I FINALLY feel like I'm moving forward. I've already slowly started leaking my presence into some other Discord servers again, so gradually, it seems like things have a faint glimmer of hope. I still intend to make noise, but in the end, I made noise in MYSELF. Weird wording, but whatever. This feels like a vast contrast to the previous journal. Where I was a burnt out, done and tired mess that just kept yelling at walls, now I feel like I'm actually renewing a vigor I mentioned, but I'm not forcing myself to. It just took some time. Well, A LOT OF TIME. But now, it feels like progress is actually happening.
My money issue, despite this up turn, is still pretty crappy though, lol. Probably worse even, at least when it comes to rent. This is another ride I wanna be off of already. That said, I can't openly take commissions and won't just yet. However, regarding new approaches, I have SOME alternatives.
For one, there's adopts. I wanna try making some adoptables and see how it goes. It would also give me a good excuse to flex my creative muscle and see what I can do. Only problem is...Idk where to start, haha. Rather, I don't know WHAT to start with, what species I should do, stuff like that. If anyone has input or suggestions, I'm happy to hear!
ANOTHER alternative I have is donations. In addition to rent near the end of each month, I also have a trip coming up next month that I'd really like to have muns for.
For that reason, I finally made a ko-fi that caters to this account. I'm not going to force anyone to donate if they can't, I totally get it! To those that can donate, I appreciate it and any little bit helps!
As for any larger donos, I can AT LEAST offer up sketches similar in style to warm-up sketches I used to do back when I first started here, but that's IF any large donos come by. Again, not expecting it and not forcing anyone!

The ABSOLUTE State of 2024
Posted 8 months agoWELP. It was QUITE a year. It was also quite a mess. It was basically like 2023 Act II and I mentioned in a previous journal probably a year ago or so how I bit off more than I could chew with things.
Well a good portion of 2024 decided to be survival mode, struggling at the end of each month to make ends meet to where anxiety returned to rear its ugly head, ADHD ramped up tenfold, along with some other nasty mental bullshit that basically left me with a massive burnout that lasted on and off throughout all of last year. Needless to say, with how I wanted to constantly do what needs to be done, this was annoying and just left me uninspired and with very little motivation to do ANY kind of art, let alone anything I wanted to do that had to do with art, or writing, or so on. My mind was wired only to just SURVIVE, to stave off anxiety in between and just be left so mentally spread thin.
I secluded myself in so many servers and stayed quiet. I hated myself harder than I had already done so. What's more, I was working with someone irl that CONSTANTLY drained me mentally and in a shift with hours and position that added to the mental drainage that it felt like I was just a husk through a lot of last year. To say the proclaimed year of the dragon was total ass would be an understatement. But, hey, at least I don't have to deal with bullshit physical pains anymore like I did in 2023 so that's good at least!
It just felt like I was thrown out of the physical oven and tossed into the mental frier. I'm glad I'm no longer dealing with the actual pains, but to follow up with mental hell is just. What the fuck did I do to have this thrown my way? It's ridiculous.
Even more so, even though I was silent, I was privy to what was going on around here in FA, the policies, and everything that's out for blood on our side of the fandom here and it just added to the prolonging of any word happening here. I wasn't sure how to feel about this account, or the future here. I kept doubting myself as an artist seeing other artists grow. Everything was so uncertain...
BUT...ever since the last few months of 2024, I started breaking through. I started to reconnect and re-establish ties and now. I'm just DONE. I'M DONE, but NOT in a bad way.
I'm done being quiet. I'm done living in burnout, anxiety, and any other shitty feeling that weighed me down ever since 2023. It's been hurtful to me, and to anyone that worked with me between then, and yall deserve a better version of me, a new but returned version I intend to be
I'm done holding myself back. I have something here and folks have reminded me of that. I have some kind of potential here, and it's going to go to waste unless I change, unless I start making noise and remind not just everyone around, but especially myself... I AM AN ARTIST
For those I still owe, you have NOT been forgotten. I will still do what I need to do and owe what I have to.
I still intend to post backlog here of old comms, old art, and with gradually renewing vigor, I will make that one of the first things I do for my return. As for FA itself, if I end up getting hit with any violations or outright suspensions or banned because of whatever backlog I start posting, so be it. I'll find a way to still be around and already have ideas in place. I have Discord, and in addition to that, I now have Telegram active again after months of not being able to access it for some reason, so there's two fall-backs already.
But, yea. I just wanna thank any new followers in my absence for watching me, and for those bating their breath for my return, thank you for your patience and I hope this explains a lot of why I haven't been around. I'm just tired, and done, and ready to break free and move on from the hold that's been over me. Time to keep showing this new generation that I'm not down and out yet and still have something to show.

SO, normally I have these open and running until the end of October but since that's coming close by and I want to give myself a chance to enjoy spookies same with some folks who would still want to, I'll keep these open until the end of November instead!
These will be $50, but alts will still be $10 each. HOWEVER, if an alt is going to require more tweaking than just the diaper's state it may end up being SLIGHTLY more than 10.

Financial Crisis + Goal On Hold = Back To Square One
Posted 2 years agoI swear, it feels like it never ends, lmao.
So in the midst of catching up with what I have now, I've neglected opening comms to catch up to the point that now I'm in a financial crisis and pretty much broke at this point with bills coming down on me in another 12 days.
To top things off, I had to get a job again, and my first check hasn't even come in yet. Fact is. I need money for bills, for food, and it sucks that I'm in this situation while still playing catch-up. So along with catching up with my pile, I NOW have to catch up on bills. GET ME OFF THIS DAMN RIDE PLEASE I WANT OFF LMAO.
SO, most likely I'll be opening my annual round of Halloween trick-or-treat sketches! A bit late but hoping some folks have interest still. It's just a matter of if I should keep them at the same price I did last year or if I should increase the price a tad. I just wish I had opened these under better circumstances.
Heck, I'm going to have to open for ANY kind of commission along with sketches (though would be nice to dress up some babs and grown-up diaper dorks and would give me serotonin indulging in spooky stuff finally =.= )
That said, I'm STILL going to be working on what I owe, all I have to owe, of course. That's not changing at all.

Posting The Pile, The Aftermath, Staying Determined
Posted 2 years agoI feel like I can breathe more again. I feel like I can take more steps forward again. I feel like I'm unplugging myself again from the heavy weight that accumulated from both the pain I dealt with, the crap I dealt with irl regarding urgent care visits, hospitalization, and so on.
Can I breathe ENTIRELY again? No, not yet but things are looking hopeful. I've been reaching out to all of those I owe, and I only have a couple more I'm going to reach out to this week. So NOW lies the want to post more backlog. As well as the want to post these finished projects and such that were part of this pile. I suppose that's part of things. I meant to post more backlog of old art and such but never did at the time because of all I was dealing with. Also with falling silent, it didn't seem right to bring back a presence of some kind until all was cleared up among clients and peers and the like.

Well for one, like how last year seemed to be ripe with issues that were NOT friendly to my financial state, this year continues the trend of shitty years, and aimed to hit mentally and physically to the where it made me fall WAY behind, which is the last thing I was expecting or wanting, to where I'm now playing a major game of catch-up. Didn't help that earlier this year, I dealt with so much pain to the point I had to go to the hospital, along with residual pain that came and went throughout most of summer, among other factors. Because of that, my distribution of art and production just got SO skewed that it just went into a halt at some points. It all built up, resulting in a pile of stuff I'd consider is overdue at this point in time.
However, it's a pile I'm MORE than resolute and determined on resuming, finishing, and making sure no one gets left behind from it. I've been breaking the mold, keeping up again, and reaching out to the folks I need to again. So if I haven't gotten to you yet if I owe you art, I will. I just need to dedicate a day to get to everyone all at once.
I want to clear my conscience and clear this mountain I made for myself, which as I said before, I'm damn well determined to do so.

Posting More Content This Week + Taking Two Comm Slots!

I was hoping I'd be able to hold this off a little while longer, but evidently with ends meet coming up and a job still yet to be in sight I'm gonna have to go ahead and take two commission slots for anyone who's interested! I have one in reserve, so if that one ends up being taken soon enough then I'll change this one here to only one slot. My gallery should provide plenty of examples but what I'm looking to take right now is anything flat color or full color! Possibly colored sketches too, depending
I guess technically these are emergency comms? But anyway.
In the meantime, starting tomorrow I'm going to return to post more backlog and content, probably during the evening/AM time over here since that's usually the time I post stuff on this account when I'm able. So, hope that's something to look forward to!

Life Changes, Updates, and Returning
Posted 2 years agoI wasn't sure how I was going to write this journal since I was thinking over and over how to go about writing it to begin with but here I am, at last! Well it's been a couple of months since my last one, and some... very unwanted health issues arose, to say the least. I had to go to the hospital at the start of March and spent two weeks after needing to recover... on top of those issues, there's been a less pressing but annoying issue with my gallbladder I was also diagnosed with at the time. Frankly this year's start has, well... not been the best out of the past couple of years. Ugh.
But anyway, throughout this month, more recently at least, I've maintained SOME control, so that I feel like I can FINALLY return to some form on FA. This means that I'll be posting more backlog from 2022, heck even 2021 if I come across it in my files, and any new content I've managed to do already for 2023. Hopefully THAT'S something to be excited for and hyped about!
I've also woken up from Telegram recently so for anyone who sees this, I've seen your messages, buuuut unfortunately, there's a thing now with that app that I can't message ya back for some reason. So there's that :U hoping it can be resolved. Just so it doesn't seem like anyone's being ignored there, figured I'd mention this little bit!
Same goes with Discord; I've been taking my time getting back since I needed to recover. So I'm gradually getting to those messages as well :)
And lastly, I'm going to be leaving my job soon. I'm going to be pursuing a different kind but one that I hope WON'T be retail again. So, because of that, expect me and my scaly butt here A LOT more often now! So much so that in between searching, I'm gonna try to expand more with the Grimbly side of things, like possibly implementing art streams or such.
You folks, I want to return to how I was before things started going awry, and I think now is my chance, and I want to take more chances. Maybe something can finally go right ^.=.^ and I also saw how many recently watched me. WOW! Thank y'all, and trust me, there's PLENTY more content, and definitely more pamps to come from this page, so I hope you all who started following get to enjoy this ride!

Posted 2 years agoNot to make this sound like a ranty complainy derg-go-stompy-tantrum sounding journal, but yea, I'm VERY GLAD that 2023 is FINALLY here. Why? Because the last part of last year was garbage for art and for my pace. I swear I couldn't get a break with things irl and it's also my fault that I let stuff pile up so much. So much so that I couldn't frequently update my journal. I'm LEGIT cringing at the fact I couldn't bother to update my journals from 2 months ago from how ass it all was. =..=;
But ANYWAY, yes, these slots from October have been done, and yes they will be posted this week along with another page from 2021's slots that I think I forgot to post at the time let alone ALL THIS TIME, along with returning to backlog. I just think I'm beating myself up here, but I will be SO much better this year >< I've already been making strides to improve things irl as well as for online.
So, before I post any of the slots from October, I'm going to leave a list here of how many batches (or pages) were done this time around and who requested and such so you all get a feel of what to PROBABLY expect this week. As for some folks I've been noting on here, I will return back to within the next couple days :)
That said, moving forward if I get commissioned or noted for one on here, I will NO LONGER be using the notes system full-on for updates. To be honest, it feels like notes take too long. Instead, I will ask to provide an alternate means of contact to discuss updates and details for. (ie Discord or Telegram, etc) I WILL initially start details and such with notes but for the rest of the way through, I'll prefer a different method :) I hope all of this is making sense
Meantime, I didn't mean to put a damper on anyone and hope all you out there had a happy New Year coming in! Let's all do our best to make 2023 a good one! :D

Spirits are a bit low right now but Halloween always brings my mood up and I hope with my sketches I can share that whimsy with you all as well! :D

Posted 4 years agoMy month is coming and I couldn't be more excited~!! So, that said, get ready to see themed commissions opening over here shortly, probably sometime this week! Especially my own Creepify, and maybe some adopts. I don't know if I'll get to the adopts but I'm definitely heckin' excited for some spooks, tricks, treats, sweets and more! I'm just glad that as far as art goes, my burnout has left for the time being. Socially though, eeehhh I'm getting to that x.=.x; But anyway, while I get all this prepped up, I DID enjoy doing some sketches of some Halloween babus last year and hope there will be no shortage this year!

Okay...that little bit of childishness at the beginning aside, I've been busy at work (BOO) and it's been killing me again (also boo) slowly, but I'm trying to stay the course with things, with the spooks coming soon and everything else that's gonna be all good and festive for the next three months at hand for the fourth and final quarter of the year.
Soooo before all that gets rolled out, I've been working on this month's YCH, and should have it posted here for all you cutes within the next couple days, though I'll try to have it up tomorrow as it will pretty much run until the first week of October, so it's going to kinda be a VERY limited selection that I may end up only doing 3 slots of xPP
With that, I will be heading back into my little art corner in the side of the room and be both heavy at work getting things set up for October, and also in tandem fend off the bad vibes, negativity, being worn out, and overall fighting off things that will gnaw at my motivation because I NEEDS TO KEEPS HAVING THE MOTIVATION >:C

WHERE HAVE Y O U BEEN, GRIMBLY? Journal Update at last...
Posted 4 years agoLong time no see, it's been what feels like forever since I have made a journal, let alone an update it seems! For one, I am still VERY MUCH alive...or alive-ish. As far as productivity goes, it's a bit of a mixed bag. Which deals a hand as to why I have been...well, I suppose quiet as of late, other than the comment thrown here and there on folks' art, submissions, and journals.
Putting it simple here, uuuuuuhhh ever since I got a job again, it has been a roller coaster, and due to the sheer volume of things I had taken on at the time I had days off from job searching AND being jobless in turn, it's been rather harrowing, and I'm sure not just for me but for folks who have had to otherwise had to be patient for sometime for stuff that NORMALLY would NOT take a long time. SOoooo I made a promise to myself to stop pretty much posting, stop any announcements of anything and take in less and less, if at all, commissions until the queue was drastically lowered.
Doesn't help that last month, prior to an event called ArtFight, I was dealing with a lot of shifts that had me waking up early than usual, resulting in an eventual burnout in pretty much damn well E V E R Y T H I N G. It S T U N K. But, it looks like ArtFight helped in killing that burnout. So back to the grind!!!
And now that I have made some better progress on pretty much everything now that I owe, I want to apologize not just to folks who have had to wait, but also to folks who I know who feel like they have probably been getting the silent treatment :c see, that's not the case, but I do owe at least something and I hope folks who I normally do talk to see this. I would be like "Hey sorry I can't talk right now", buuuuut for some reason that feels sort of like I'm being an asshole. Either way, I'd just feel like an ass =..=
And if I do, I am sorry for the silence, it's nothing against anyone who I talk to at all. Just be patient with this derg -w- because now that I'm seeing light at the end of this long tunnel I made for myself, I can't wait to post more art soon...I can't wait to talk to y'all again, because I miss the folks I talked to just as much as some of them have missed me, or at least, so I think. Maybe no one missed me, but who knows...?
All I know is...Grimbly is making a comeback soon. And y'all better get y'alls padded butts ready for that comeback.~

WARM-UP SPREE. WHAT'S IT MEAN?
Posted 4 years agoSO, A couple of things. First thing's first, going into New Year's with a SEMI-clean slate. For the most part, I want to get into 2021 without warmups in my warm-up queue, so for those wondering, I've been doing these and completing these for the past few days. STARTING TOMORROW, I will begin posting some of the warm-ups, along with resuming posting backlog, since there's some festive stuff I still wanna post because hey, it's just how it is. ~ :P
As for those I haven't contacted yet, I will as soon as I can about your warm-ups. I've also sprung the extra mile to color a few here and there. DO NOT take offense if there's one that I haven't colored and it's yours. I am simply doing what I can to get these out soon for folks. Originally they are not meant to be colored to begin with, but I digress.
The second thing is, I'm now without a job it seems, and might push sales into emergency mode. I'll probably even discount some of my commissions if something sells, but I will probably advertise after the next two days or so. Hopefully some folks can help me, until I can get a new job irl and such.
All In all, I'm just trying to manage as much as I can x.=.x all at the same time, trying to keep from being overtaken by a lot of things irl. With that said, I will be back to posting things again tomorrow. Hope you enjoy the New Year's! ~

ONE MORE MONTH. WHAT'S IN STORE?
Posted 5 years agoWe only have one more month of this dumb year, and then we can move on to the next year, and hope things can get better. First thing's first is knocking out this month, and enjoying Christmas as much as we can and make it something good, even if it's a little bit of good in a lot of bad, any little bit matters right?
So what do I have planned? Well, I'm doing the traditional gift shopping for family, and knocking that out one by one, but for the most part, I've been returning to my Warm-Up's queue, and those will be completed within this month. I can't thank those who wanted warm-ups enough for these ideas and they're all going to come out to your liking ^.=.^
Also, I'm barely going to start pushing out some late Halloween content, since last month was a bit of a blunder putting things behind. I guess y'all can just call it my Nightmare before Christmas x'D just hope you folks will enjoy the content I have coming soon even if it's two months tardy to the costume party. :p
I may have some YCHs present (no pun intended) for this month too. Just keep a look out for them, or a journal announcing the YCH spots! But in the meantime, if you want something festive or holiday themed I will have color sketches open for just $30! I will only be taking one at a time however if you are interested ^.=.^

I'm so giddy about October and everything that I want to start this off with warm-up sketches again, but this time Trick-or-treat themed or spooky themed that's fitting for the month ahead~! I'd like to say you're all so awesome and I've also been thinking that I miiiight try to make a twitter alt for all things padded :3 I'll update again if I do go through with it, because there's also stuff I wanna share there that I'd probably not share here soon enough. That and I feel like I'd be a tons more interactive. We'll see if I do though, but I really want to.

BUSY Dragon Update
Posted 5 years agoSO Just a heads up. I think next journal will be the one where we all come together see what sort of character we can create, courtesy of online templates. Should be fun! Or at least I'm hoping to make it fun :3
Now for journals I'll have a list or queue up of warm-ups in progress along with any commissions. Yeah this journal is a little uneventful as far as things go. Work keeps nagging me and dragging me away hardcore but I'm still keeping up with things, or as much as possible, surprisingly ^^;
Anyways the lists below will update periodically. Sooooo if ya don't see yours down there yet, give it time. COmmission lists will update frequently with progress and if another just so happens to be there. WHICH, speaking of, if ya wanna get somethin' from me of your babs, then I'm taking these kind of commissions moving forward for the rest of this month and next month:
*Uncolored Sketch - $15
*Colored Sketch - $25
*Chibi - $20
These kind will either be done in progress along with any other bigger ones but for these I ask for designs that are NOT too complex. We can talk about if your bab is too complex in design or not if you're interested in either one of these above :3 just know that I will taking only one at a time of these so any bigger pieces can get their completion in as well
