General | Posted 2 weeks agoAdding to the pile of things going on these last couple months, my mom's stepmom died yesterday morning very unexpectedly. We weren't the clostest but it was still a hell of a shock and I'm having to help out with funeral prep as she didn't have much family left.Visitor

Recent diagnosis
General | Posted a month agoGeneral Updates; Had an interesting time this past week- I'm sure my work reflects.
Got diagnosed with chronic anemia and so far treatment isn't helping much- it started up helping but then I had a PCOS flare and lost my progress if ykwim, but even then my blood cells aren't replenishing right and iron supplements aren't taking as well as I'd like. I'm going early November to get the cause figured out- my PCOS is obviously a big factor but it's a bit worse than what PCOS usually does, so they suspect my endometriosis has progressed or I have intestinal bleeding (possibly ulcers). I'm going to try not to let this impede work, but it's already done some damage to my mental health- enough that I've start antidepressants so I hope that'll help. The brainfog has been horrific and I've been so tired but dear Kenny helped me get a more comfortable set up so I can still draw.
I'm going to try to get some more work ready for uploads; old pieces getting turned in and such; I've been trying to clear my head a bit[Art Plug] Sweater YCH

Taking a Day
General | Posted 2 months agoTaking some time off tomorrow. Need to find some things to turn in to people, get my head on straight; Church was my buddy for 11 years, my emotional support when I moved out of an abusive household- this cat saw multiple ups and downs, houses, partners, met my friends (bit my friends), traveled, had a job (he was a therapy cat for a nursing home). A third of my life was spent with him. And now I've said goodbye and still having trouble processing it, to the point I've even been trying to do my nightly routine with him and breaking down after forgetting- called him for scraps I didn't like off my turkey sandwich, made my rounds to check on him in his usual spot, almost got his meds together for the morning....
I'm not trying to guilt trip anyone, I know this is my 'business' place and I know I have shit I owe and need to get done, but things are piling up tremendously between losing him, my illness, and other things going on.

I apologize to everyone for issues with talking as of late- the FA note system is kind of busted so I've been trying to get a better path of communication such as discord or telegram but ultimately it has all just overwhelmed me more and made it where I was struggling to answer anyone in any direction heh...
Also for a small paging situation, I have been issued a chargeback on a large order that is mostly finished that I was intending to send in all at once which was followed by being blocked on here; obv not naming names but if you have opened a dispute with me on paypal, please check your email as I have sent you proof of completion and WIPs. I understand the frustration that would lead to a block and I apologize, but at least for the pieces finished I would like us to walk away with the transaction completed fairlyWhen it rains it pours I guess [cw sick animal]
General | Posted 2 months agoOn top of everything else going on in my previous journal, I had to drop $300 on my elderly cat's care yesterday.
My old cat Church is severely anemic for reasons they're still searching for, and I had to spend $300 of our savings to get him the care he needed; there's still no guarantee he'll bounce back, but if nothing else the care is comfort care until we know if he can bounce back or not- vet said he's not at a stage to consider euthanasia yet, but could get there, so keep an eye on him
At this point, I'm more open to accepting help with all of this; Church's expenses have already been paid, it just depleted our savings for the apartment where we previously had deposit ready.

Our need to move has gotten a bit more dire; Kenny and my mom have butted heads hard enough that while the situation still isn't dangerous in an abusive way, I don't foresee Kenny being able to recover further in this house with my parents. We nearly have our deposit goal and are currently trying to get the first month rent for this apartment. Once we're in a safer living situation I'll be able to keep up with work a bit better as I wont have to pour all of my energy into perpetuating Kenny's treatment in the presence of people who don't understand what's going on as clearly, and will have space to pursue a part time knowing Kenny would be safe so I could issue refunds where requested and focus on backlog
The sale is still ongoing- all YCHs, open and closed are available for listed price; all proceeds going forward will be to get us in an apartment

Gonna preface this by saying that our living situation isn't DANGEROUS, we are not in danger, it's just highly stressful and a bit toxic as we figure out our family dynamics with my brother staying, Kenny in IOP, etc. Apartments have opened up nearby and I'd like to make my way to getting into somewhere me and Ken can have our space while still doing what we need to do with support for and with family sooner rather than later

General | Posted 3 months agoHey fellas, replies may be slow today and tomorrow as we're getting Kenny ready for a week long trip to see his family. Things have been very hectic the last couple of weeks and there's a chance this trip will be rough on him, so I'm going to be prioritizing him for the next couple of days. Once he leaves Saturday I'll be getting back fully on work including finding some older YCHs I've been asked about.
I also want to note my 11 year old cat is a bit sickly, so I'm going to be working on taking care of him as well

Hi guys!
I have some news: Kenny has been accepted into an IOP program- this means he's going to be receiving care for his mental health; anyone who's followed me for a while knows Kenny has struggled for a very long time and this is wonderful news; he'll be treated from home, so things are going to change up for us a bit.
I'll make an additional post tomorrow with more details and some stuff going forward.
Hopefully waiting on a big (good) update later today, so I'm going to be away until probably tonight
