if someone goes and looks at this dog, and tells me what she's like, then possibly adopts her for me, I will be eternally grateful. there is a dog, a female husky with a birth defect where one of her front limbs is deformed that got dumped in a high kill shelter in AL near the TN line. I'd like to send out a plea to the furs in that area that would be willing to pull/help transport her to me in FL...if we could form a chain of rescuers to get this girl to me...it would make my heart melt. I know furs from all around the globe, and I know furs are kind and compassionate towards animals. my grandfather died of heart complications a few days ago...i'm really crushed. ...so i'm in a real pickle here. My original roomies said its a no go, and i'm desperate for a place to live off campus of Ringling in the fall. Alone, I just cannot seem to find a place that will take me and my two dogs (siberian huskies)...i'd really love it if a few people would chip in and move into a house with me...there's all sorts of lovely houses which I could split the rent and utilities and have plenty of room to let everyone have their space...

I need roomies who aren't bums, will pay rent on time (their half) and utilities (their half) who don't smoke in the house (outside is okay I guess...hookah, yes is encouraged!) and aren't total loud party monsters. Must be okay with dogs, and dog hair since my huskies both shed. You can have your own dogs, but they have to be fixed. My males are both fixed and since are huskies have a very high dominance and pack driven order. They always start fights with unfixed males due to the testosterone imbalance. I will be fostering for my husky rescue as well, so more dogs in the future will come and go. I just...I cannot live in the dorm because of my PTSD and anxiety, and even moving in with strange people (furries not included, hey we have a common interest and don't judge!) plus I couldn't take my dogs.

so, after trying and failing to rescue the 30 huskies dumped in the arcadia shelter and ending up fighting to get my new senior boy Flynn from Hillsborough County, I have been keeping an eagle eye on HCAS where Flynn came from because they're full and very very VERY high kill with stupidly ridiculous policies and protocol. They put dogs down for no good reason. Well, I came across on their petango.com site, a male husky with a skin issue, and a female who just had five pups. They're beautiful. I kept coming back to them. So, call me crazy but i'm going to try to rescue and re-home them. All of them, if possible at all. We'll see what the shelter says. They gave me so much bullshit trying to save Flynn. My rescue is full, and we just got pups in with a mom from that arcadia shelter (apparently they were overlooked and left over?) so i'm trying to do what I can to get these babies out. I've seen it before. The pups will all be adopted, the momma will be left to die. The poor male with skin issues will be overlooked and put down because of them. I can't just make no effort to save them, i'm going to try and let this not weigh on my conscience. Hopefully, i'll be successful. I have no intent to keep these dogs for myself (i'm capped out at two myself) and i'd be rehoming them once they were able to be re-homed. So, wish me luck...and if you're interested in helping me get these angels out of that hellhole...let me know.

Okay. So, to some this may sound a little whacky, but I swear its true and to be honest i'm a bit terrified of it. But still excited. Here's the question: do you believe in hypersensitivity and being able to pick up on things in a spiritual way? (ex. ESP, clairvoyance, empathic, telepathic, psychic)

So. The other day while on the art walk with my mom and her best friend, we decided to get a tarot card reading done at a cool little shop called Enchanted Notions. The woman was very very positive and seemed to be radiating good vibes. So we all went in there and sat down for our readings. I've had tarot done before, and have been less than amazed with the results. This woman however was 210% ACCURATE in every way on each of our readings. The first thing she picked up on when I sat down on the chair and drew my cards, was she looked at me and said, You're an empath, aren't you? I didn't know what she was talking about. Then she added, you have hypersensitivity, you can pick up on others' emotions and project them onto yourself. I was rather shocked at this, but after thinking it over it all somewhat made sense. I DO tend to feel stronger emotions and have always been able to pick up on my friends and sometimes strangers' moods and emotions. I have been able to calm people down just by touching them and projecting calming moods and thoughts their way. So, she continued on with the reading and got everything right; how my ability was causing me to get mixed up on my priorities because I was taking on so many others' emotions and had no shield. How my anxiety and depression and social phobias all played into the empathic abilities I have.

She gave me a grounding ring to help me rein in my gift just a bit, and since wearing it I do feel a bit better. But...honest I don't know what to think of all of it. It is a lot to digest. She told me that if I honed my abilities better, there's no telling what I could achieve...clairvoyance, card readings, communication telepathically with spirits and animals...the posssibilities are so broad. I've always been a spiritual person but...?

Anyways, just looking for some insight and opinions on this as i'm quite lost what to do. If I do have an ability, I might try to hone it to my advantage. Thoughts, opinions, comments, beliefs...?

I was recently diagnosed with this disorder, and thought i'd post a little more info on it since some people have either jumped to conclusions or made assumptions on me based on misinformation they have about this mental ailment.

First of all, let me give ya'll some facts straight from my mouth about how I feel everyday.

1.) I am EXTREMELY anxious about going anywhere outside of my house on a daily basis...sometimes I will get so worried and worked up that I won't get out of be or dressed all day, basically I will sit in my room worrying about going out/someone making me go out somewhere with them.

2.) YES, I take medication. NO this does not make me all better and not right away. It may help once it kicks in, but generally this pill can take up to TWO MONTHS to start having any effect on my anxiety at all.

3.) While I may look happy and content on the outside when with friends or at a con, underneath I am a wreck. I worry about what everyone is thinking about me, and how I cannot do anything about it, and there isn't anything I can tell my brain to stop doing this. So, even within the comforting group of close friends, i'll still be working myself up inside of my head, sometimes so much to the point I will physically feel drained.

4.) As well as being antsy in social situations, I am also very withdrawn at home, and can often worry myself into a panic. Mainly because I also have panic attacks and panic disorder which is spurred by the anxiety.

5.) My dog IS a service animal. NO, I did not do this just so I can be selfish and bring him everywhere with me. I did it because my dog Tonk helps me feel mentally at ease in public, and helps me focus on him rather than what everyone around me thinks. He also helps me talk to people because he is a conversation starter and many people approach me about him. Each conversation I have helps me out just a little bit. If I get panicky in public, he will not leave my side, and will demand my attention and let me pull clumps of his fur out that are loose and let me pet him and talk to him until I calm down.

6.) Just because I have a mental disorder does not make me any less of an approachable person! I am friendly and sweet, but just shy and reserved. Once you get to know me, I am a great friend. Because I have a mental hinderance, it doesn't mean you shouldn't approach me at a convention or gathering. Just...try to approach me not in large groups because that tends to freak me out and make me panicky. Also try to avoid making joking comments around me that are sarcastic in nature (sometimes) because my brain cannot process them as being a joke and sees them as personally judging...x.x

till FWA 2014 :P I know. I am lame for counting down so far away, but its my next "big" furry con soooooooooo eeeeeep!

...so since FA has been down, i've had nowhere to try and get commissions and such because i've run into a rather large bump in my life in general.

while everybody is so excited/nervous about going back to classes, i'm stuck home and anxious about life in general. I had to go to the psychiatrist for a re-eval. Well, turns out that i've been ignoring a rather large mental obstruction in my life...I have severe social anxiety disorder which often prevents me from going out in public, or doing everyday things. I've always been anxious out in public...and i'm super wary of people, and am constantly worrying about what they're thinking or saying about me, or just how I look to them, so much so to the point where I will get so worked up I feel faint, dizzy, and short of breath and will go into full spiraled panic attack mode. It can happen anywhere in the general public area...restaurants, stores, even parking lots or in my case last weekend at a football game and at the flea market. It happens even when I am around friends...just being in public makes me so nervous I get anxiety attacks. Which under laws is of course considered a mental disability. It happens at cons too, sometimes even when I am suiting...i'm just a total wreck around people. It may seem like i'm having a good time, but inside i'm freaking out and worrying about all sorts of things. Lately I have also been suffering from severe frequent panic attacks, some of them so bad, that I cannot breathe steadily for hours and I cry and shake and won't move all day...they have been happening frequently since I got home from college...gee, I wonder why..? And now have been happening even more since my aunt has so graciously decided to SELL our home (the only place I have my own room) right after I have just gotten my room all settled and the way I am truly proud of it looking...and there's people coming over all days and times of the week, poking around when I am not here, which of course makes me frantic! Then my father will leave me alone for days with no money or any company or any food in the house...so i'm left with only my dog to talk to and keep me in sorts. *sigh*

This is sounding like a whole lotta nothing so far...but here's where the costs I need to make up are coming in. Since my mother's insurance found out I am not currently in classes, I have to pay out of pocket for my medical expenses. That means, paying for the new anxiety meds i'm on, the psych appointments and consultations, and the counseling I am also in to help with the anxiety coping. This adds up to quite a bit. I just started my first job, and am barely getting paid over minimum wage. (the only reason I am able to deal with the job is because I am working with children, and children do not cause the same type of anxiety since I don't have to worry about them judging me like the general population). This can hardly put a dent in it. Also, the psych prescribed Tonk to me as a psychiatric service dog (PSD) to assist in distracting me from being anxious out in public. This means, I had to buy him a harness, and vest, and ID tags, as well as information about PSD cards, and get him a vet exam. This has also cost me in excess of $150 - $200 which again I had to pay. See where the money need for commissions and such come in?

I'm struggling here. So, I say i'm open for all types of commissions, be they digital, or traditional. From toony, to hyper realism in all shapes and sizes. Badges, portraits, busts, adult pieces...hell, I dunno. Just anything to help me ease the financial dent this mental discovery has put in my life. Yes! Okay, so around late September of last year, my mother told me when I came down from college to visit that she wanted to consider adopting a 12 year old boy whom she had known since he was 3. She is a social worker and has been for thirty some odd years...she loves helping kids and helping them find forever homes. Her work touches many. Well, anyways, she told me about this. And I said, I think that's great Mom, you have a big heart. She told me that while I was at school, he would move into my room...I was reluctant about this at first, but agreed to it. On winter break from school, I came back down and met my future brother for the first time. Taylor was his name. What a cool kid...he really looked up to me and saw me as sort of a role model...and seeing as how i'd always wanted a brother, it was fun for me...yes he was annoying, and yes, he had totally trashed my wonderful room and turned it into his man cave...but he seemed like an awesome kid, and I could see why my mother loved him. So, I went back to college, and for unforseen circumstances had to come back home to stay. I got along fine with not having a room at my mom's...I slept in her room with her and had another room at my dad's. But, I got to know Taylor better. His story was really sad and he went through so much. But he is still a great fun loving kid. When my mom told me she was going to finalize his adoption and make him a permanent member of our broken little family, I was overjoyed. So, a few months ago, we dressed all fancy and went to the courthouse. There we signed papers and had a ceremony that made him officially my little brother. Since hearing about this a representative from the local news did a story, and then a reporter from cbs wanted to do a segment on national news...and now...the story is all over the place, from local, to internationally in the UK and beyond. My mother even told me she got a call from Lifetime saying they want to make a movie possibly out of Taylor's story...I am so proud and happy to have a little brother, and to have a loving mom who has such a big heart!
