I just thought I'd update some news. At least about writing.

It seems like recently my muse is finally awake again, and I'm kinda writing more regularly.

Essentially:

I've started writing up Lion's Heart again (which I finished 2 chapters already) for those who're looking forward to more stuffs.

Another Mutant Awakening chapter is being beta-read by my friend Kindar currently.

Oh, yes, I've edited Flipping Out 2: Full Moon Calling - all 4 chapters, and working on a 5th. I think you may be seeing 4 new chapters of FO2: FMC -- as new entries rather than copied over the old ones.

What else? Not a whole lot -- although I'm trying to work on more stuff now. We'll see what happens soon.

I wanna thank the new watchers I've been picking up for a while. :) Thank you.

I've been slowly... SLOWLY... doing a little writing here and there. A recent thing I've started to notice is livestreaming ... text. At least one or two people I know on FA are doing it.

My question is - in the interest of possibly getting me more motivated and focused on writing again ... would anyone want to watch me do a Typestream?

I've got a channel set up already, but I was just curious as of the interest that readers of my stuff might have.

I'm also desperately hoping summer quits already. lol. I hate this heat.

'Superhero League of Hoboken' PC game from Legend Entertainment really needs an upgrade, and fleshing out. It's a great game so far. Nice graphics, silly plot, silly superhero powers... but still great. :)

we really do need things like bovines and moose (meese?0 in the list, among a way to maybe specify 'hybrid' or a way to pick the different species hat represent the picture. And, yes, why only ONE species per submission? (we seem to have to put the rest of them, if applicable into the keywords)

I thought I'd share the basic tutorial in English, for those who can't read French.

Things you need:

Preferably Photoshop CS3. A Mouse, at least.

Alrighty:

Step 1 - Open CS3. Create New Image. Should be around 20 pizel square (height/width).

step 2 - Select Brush Tool. Make sure your brush is on "Hard Round 1" style before drawing your 'brush' style. Try to imitate the "Dune Grass/Grass" brush that exists in your brush styles. I went with two strokes in an )( style.

Note: It will probably take a couple different brush styles that you make before you settle on something that looks good to you.

Step 3 - With the brush style drawn, go to "Edit" then scroll down to "Define Brush Preset..." Name your brush.

All clear so far? If you have questions, ask away.

Setting up your new brush preset:

Click on "Brushes" (usually located on the right side with all the tabs and stuff in a default workspace.) Your 'new' brush should be located in "Brush Presets" and at the bottom of the list.

Anyway. Select "Brush Tip Shape"

Diameter should be what you scaled your brush to be (20px by 20px or whatnot) Angle should always be at -90 degrees. Spacing - whatever % you think is appropriate.

Next:

Click on "Shape Dynamics":

I have my "Size Jitter" at 100% - cuz it makes the hair as small as possible, I think. Immediately under that is a drop down button - Select "Pen Pressure"

"Angle Jitter" is about 15% at default. Experiment with the look as you go along.

Immediately under "Angle Jitter" is another drop down button - Select "Direction" (which makes it so you can sorta lead the direction of the brush in the way you use it.)

I left it at 0% for "Roundness Jitter" (I'm not sure exactly what it does since it doesn't seem to do anything obvious). Next drop down button is "Off"

That's it for this part.

Select "Scattering"

Check the box "Both Axes", and set your "Scatter" To approximately 200%. (Depends on how much of a scatter you want when you use the brush.)

"Control" drop down button just below - Select Pen Pressure. Set your "Count" to 1 or 2. (Usually 2). "Count Jitter" = I'm not really sure on this feature. Below it is another "Control" drop down menu - set at "Pen Pressure."

"Smoothing" and "Protect Texture" tabs on the bottom of this brush's settings should already be selected by default.

Lastly:

Pick a color you think you wanna use for hair, and color (I'd put it on a separate layer when you do a pic so you don't accidentally ruin it.

Color away.

I've finally got it started back up after a bit of a hiatus -- namely what to do after Logan ran out of the door in Chapter 14.

my only question is...

Is it too farfetched/possible for a teleporter like maybe Tad or Nightcrawler to teleport part of an object that's attached to another away while attached?

Example:

They teleport on top of a Sentinel's head, and somehow manage to 'tear' off the head by focusing their will on only teleporting the head?

This is kinda for another Danger Room scenario I'm trying to write, and it just occurred to me if it were possible or not.

I was just curious if anyone enjoyed the Linework of Grant that I colored recently?

I felt like fucking around, and did a few extra versions. Thing is, should I post them? I mean... mainly the only thing changed was the color of Grant's boxer briefs.

In one of them, I attempted to do a bit of shading, and somehow shaded his cigar fairly nicely, I think.

In other News -- I finally got my latest "Unlikely Friends" chapter back from my friend who proofread it for me. Unfortunately it took a month to get it done, but I don't mind - well, since he got it done :)

I'm currently trying to work on X:MA, and the next chapter of Unlikely Friends. And I did try to restart my Digimon story, so we'll see how it all goes. :)

Well.

A week? or maybe a bit more ago, I was kinda restless right before bed, and kept sorta visualizing a lion -- like I was looking out a lion's face. It made me wonder if I was thinking about being a lion, then the next night... I saw myself/it as a full-winged anthro lion.

More specifically, a mane-less lion with golden-tipped blue wings.

I went so far to make him/me into a possible fantasy character for something... eventually.

What do you think?

On other updates -- I'm nearing completion of Grizzly Science: Unlikely Friends. Chapter, and Story.

Just need to push a bit more on the latest chapter, and probably write one last chapter before wrapping up Grizzly Science #2.

Otherwise, other stories are still ongoing.

Mutant Awakening: Have it at least a page started for the next chapter.

Digimon: Well, I have rewritten a page or two, but it really needs to be returned to. I'm hoping to do it once I finish Grizzly Science #2.

I am not about to make any life changing decisions or anything, but I am feeling a tad frustrated and a bit unmotivated lately with writing in general.

Perhaps those who do read my journals -- could tell me a few of your favorite things of the stories I've posted here?

Mainly I'm just trying to get more encouragement on writing and finishing more of my stories.

Don't get me wrong -- I love writing to death, but I also love getting feedback on 'em as well. It's like a cycle -- more comments get more motivation.

But then again, I also know there's not a lot of comments to be gained through writing on FA anyway, which is also something I've started to expect.

Anyway, go for it, people ;)

Hmm. Am I being overanalytic in trying to create some sort of idea that features an equal mixture of human and furries?

Right now I'm just trying to jot down some requirements. (I think this is my way of trying to become more jack of all trades and not stay entirely in human-centric works. Plus any story I do this in will be scifi or fantasy-based anyway. Most of my stuff tends to be lol)

Requirements -

- Must be anthromorphized.
- Species likely to be used:
- Otter, Bear, Bull, Lion, Fox?, Deer, Tiger, Panther, Dog, Wolf, Cat, Moose, etc.
(Mainly species I thought I'd be able to pull off somewhat convincingly. Maybe.)

- Some characters will be human with slight furry heritage:
- tail, genitals, facial features, fur/markings.
(This is just something I'd thought of to throw in -- that some humans are more human but with some animal heritage.)

- Must have elements of fantasy/scifi (Magical powers/Psychic Abilities)
- Academy idea is probably overused but offers a place of learning and stuff
(the academy idea was from a story I read on Yiffstar which is damn good so far - "Academia" but I don't want to rip it off.)

This isn't a complete list yet -- I just started it a few minutes ago lol

Plus I'm sorta realizing that 'furry' pretty much means nothing except external appearances, so that's kinda why I wanted to try to have a go at it sometime. I did try one a long time ago between a Bear and a Minotaur, but it kinda got shot down.

Well.

I've had a bit of a struggle to write -- a lot of the time I've been unmotivated OR distracted, which are obviously detriments to creative writing - lol.

I have been trying to keep the writing up as much as I can -- and that's the reason nothing's been posted lately even after FA's been rebooted up.

Anyway.

Mutant Awakening Ch 10 is still in progress -- possibly 3/4's done. This was an incredibly difficult chapter to muddle through, but I hope people do enjoy it.

Grizzly Science: Unlikely Friends Ch 9 - Still working on it -- (I believe it's practically done but needs maybe a page or a good stopping point so you will clamor for more... lol)

Flipping Out is obviously completed, although I'm contemplating a Bonus chapter or two expanding onto the story taking place a month or so later. I also have another story I've started in the same universe though -- it's only a page or so at this point so that might take a while.

Digimon: Crystal Destiny -- well, basically -- needs to have a scene written before I'm done with Ch 10.

Uhm... that's about it, I believe. ;)

Anything at all - provided it's not too personal. :)

And for Flipping Out, and GS: Unlikely Friends -- they're both progressing. Just very slowly -- I'm trying to bend my muses to work more on Flipping Out since I would like to complete it soon. (I do have an idea for another story in "Society of Weres"...which contains the story "Flipping Out")

And for those who are following my Digimon Story -- I really apologize but the next chapter is at least started -- a page or two but I haven't gotten to it lately.
