ignored....and sorry!
Posted 11 years agoAnd then I delete the whole message! Let's try this again. Sometimes, I forget that I have this site, and slap myself. If I did more outreach and posted more often, I might be able to do more of what I wish, which is artwork, and less working for others. So, my early resolution for the new year is to pay more attention to my artwork and all those wonderful people who have followed me, even over two years of almost nothing. I have just posted a bunch of new art, and there is more just waiting in my files to show you. To all, a happy and Fuzzy Christmas and New Year!
It's the weekend!
Posted 13 years agoThe rain has finally come back to the pacific northwest...which means it is time for fall yard cleanup and pack away for the winter. Summer seemed too short.
Along with being an artist, I also work for the local school district as an ed assistant. Lots of people have been out with the flu or other virus garbage, which means lots of 6-8 hour days with kids. By the time I get home, and dinner, etc., it has been time for bed... Not much art done. Hopefully, that will change over the weekend. Saturday morning means that I will be helping my son with his eagle badge (totally different than what the furry fandom would think), and then hopefully, the rest of the weekend can mostly be mine. I also want to post some Taipan illos that I have done, and some coloring pages for everyone to have a little fun with.
A little sadness. I am a bird person, having raised and owned cockatiels, doves, and lovebirds. We also rescue and rehabilitate. I have a dove with a broken leg (which is healing fine), a blind lovebird, a cockatiel with only one foot. The other 10 doves are fine. My oldest lovebird passed away yesterday. She had a leg deformaty (splayed leg syndrome), and would have been uthanized if it were not for us. She was such a little fighter, even as a chick. I could not let anyone take away her life that she had struggled so hard to hang on to. She lived about 12 years. As grouchy as she got as she aged, I will still miss her.

Sunday!
Posted 13 years agoSo far, the Seattle area weather is being very nice. Cool in the evening, sunny during the day. I am definitely a sun loving person....I turn into a hibernating bear around christmas. I counteract that somewhat with a special light box, but the real thing is always the best...as well as being wonderful to do art under. Accurate color, and all that.
Sorry if I messed everyone up that had tagged some of my pictures. I went back in and tweeked some of the saturations etc., so they look more like what I made them to be. Later today, I hope to go through and post more of my previous work, some from Issues of the Tales of the TaiPan, a community fanzine. The very first issue has my work on the cover! That was 48 or so issues ago, but there is always a place in my hear for them, as one of the semi-founding members. http://www.taipanproject.org/
a birthday party today for a very cute little girl, then back home for some yard stuff before it gets bad around here, then back to commissions. "The Last Unicorn" badge is done, as is a lounging tiger, and cute beginning sketches of two cuddlers.
until next time.

Rainfurrest 2012
Posted 13 years agoMy first journal entry.
October, 2012
I am not real good at journalling, so you may not hear from me much.
Just got back from Rainfurrest (September 27-30). After having a little bit of time to sleep in and recover from the very busy weekend, it is back to the grind.
I had to bring 4 commissions home, so they will be worked on and done in the next few days.
Rainfurrest was a lot of fun, and a lot of work. I had a table in the dealer's Den, and commissions were many. I even had a return customer...that made me feel very good that not only did he like the first full page illo that I had done for him, that he came back for more! Lots of talking and meeting new furries. All of you were so kind! We struck up a friendship with Inkpawz and her partner. My husband is from Moscow, Idaho, and that is where they are living now....Lots of memories. And, the next time we go over there to visit family, we can meet up with them! This was my husband's first furry con, and he really liked helping me at my table, so I am sure we will do this again next year. Maybe before then, I can become faster at on the fly artwork! I like using reference, which means that I have to look things up. I am sure it will become easier as I go.
For Christmas, I got to get some copic markers, and so they came in very handy this weekend....as if I need more art supplies! But they were real fun, as well as fairly quick to use. Between them, and my colored pencils, coloring was quicker, and really bright and sharp, which I like.
Next step, to get some artwork up here so that others that asked about my FA account can see my art!
'til next time!
