So, big news, BOTH of the anthologies I am in are out! Dogs of War, published by FurPlanet and edited by Fred Patten, is premiering at Further Confusion which is happening right now! And I am going to Further Confusion on Sunday to pick it up and sign my stories if anyone wants that! :DD
I probably should have announced that I was going to be at the con earlier BUT HERE I AM, I'LL MAYBE SEE FOLKS THERE (gonna be wearing a Gullwulf badge and a big blue tail)

My first publication is officially out! I'm part of an anthology with many other wonderful writers published by Thurston Howl called "Seven Deadly Sins: Furry Confessions". My story is under envy titled "Black Fur", and I am so happy and proud to announce my first official publication!
You can buy the book on amazon, and you really should because there's some awesome writers and Thurston Howl has been an absolute pleasure to work with!

I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO BE A PUBLISHED AUTHOR!!! I am still waiting on the exact release dates, but right now I have two stories set to print in two different anthologies!!
I'll provide more details when I get the final publication dates, but for now I am going to be published with FurPlanet and Thurston Howl (and ya'll should really give Thurston a look, their staff is top notch).

Scrivener?
Posted 9 years agoI'm curious about anyone who has used the program/continues to use it?
I've been doing fine with my basic writing program (basically off brand Word, it's just called Writer) but after the deadline I'm working on my writing is going to kick into high gear as I go after every anthology under the sun.
Sooo... Anyone wo uses Scrivener, can you give me your opinion on it? Does it actually help to organize characters and plot lines? Is it easy to format and save in regular manuscript form? What about as plain .txt files?
Also sorry for lack of uploads! Now that I'm focused on anthologies it's hard for me to write on here, but I'm gonna try to do a Halloween related story for October. Also maybe a fan FNAF story because I can be a little lame sometimes for my own amusement |D;;;

Posted 9 years agoHello everyone! I'm currently on vacation after Furry Migration (which was a total BLAST) but I will be returning home fairly soon!
It's been amazing here in Minnesota and I think I'm going to move forward on my plans to get out and try to move away from my parents.
FM was also great for talking to writers and gaining a lot of invaluable insight. I have a pathway to get my writing out there and I am very eager to start on it.

I am so sorry to everyone I've left hanging. My job is sucking the life out of me and it's left me with little energy to do much of anything that isn't my personal work.
The good news is I'm preparing for my first ever furry con very very soon!! More details on that to come!!

Curious about Furry RP Groups
Posted 9 years agoAre there any out there that aren't like... totally yiff based? And also NOT totally art based?
I've had awful luck with trying to roleplay on Furcadia as of late. It seems that there's some hidden code based in whispers that I can't crack which is just confusing as hell, and slightly frustrating. The few bites I get on my characters are also very fetish based which is... not what I'm always looking for.
Second Life is also unfortunately not an option for me; to put it bluntly, my internet is extremely shitty and ALSO has a data cap. I basically have to chose if I'm going to be spending my internet data usage on Steam or Netflix every month. And generally I just prefer something text based over graphics based! I DID use to RP on WoW but it's an expensive habit to keep up, and not one that I can keep up with consistently enough thanks to the aforementioned internet.
If you want some of my RP experience, well... I've been RPing for the better part of my life, at LEAST thirteen years, and in all sorts of formats. MMO, tabletop, play by post (my favorite format), in large forums of 100 + people and small groups of only 3-4 people (which is where I'm currently sitting). I'm pretty done with fandom based RPs, like Pokemon and such, but I have done them before!! I have characters I've had for years and years, new ones since I finally decided to come out as a furry, and everything in between. Reformed criminals are some of my favorite characters, and I RP cis guys, cis girls, and a few trans characters! (Sorry, but I don't like c-boys, herms, etc etc. I have many trans friends and it makes me super uncomfortable to hear those terms, and they have also expressed dislike about them)
Sooo... if anyone has any leads, hmu? Otherwise I'm going to eventually try to get art of a slave character for TGT on Furcadia, since that's like... the only other lead I have. I ALSO own all the books for HVC Draconis and I've been dying to get into a group about it!

Coincidentally this all seemed to happen right when I was just discussing with my friends about me trying to find other furry sites to diversify myself while I work on cranking out more writing + balancing my current job. Now that I see a lot of people moving to FurryNetwork, now is as good of a time as any to get more of my stuff in more places.

ANYWAYS, I'm hoping to start uploading stories on a semi-regular basis, say every 2 weeks? As much as I know sex sells on this site, I am honestly happier writing more in the SFW area (not to say that my works won't contain adult themes-- I love me some blood and gore and supernatural horror-- but sex I'm rather meh on) and stuff that has to do with adventure and drama and character conflicts.
I also got a new job as a Barista (as a Lit bachelor's holder, I am ashamed that my life is currently the punchline for STEM majors) and I'll be taking college drawing courses soon, so I'll probably be uploading WAY more art, but it's okay if you're only here for the writing aspect-- I was only intending for this site to be my writing dumping ground as it was, hehe. Plans change while you're making plans!
SO YUP, that's the plan. Gonna also try to keep the end of every journal updated with what books I'm currently reading, if anyone wants to spark a conversation with me on those things without spoilers of course!
And hey, if people like my writing enough, ebooks in the future maybe?? I really, really don't want to stay in retail if I can help it. While I am writing for the non-furry crowd in my downtime, the furry crowd has the advantage of the fact that I can publish my works without worrying about losing my first publishing rights AND still be able to turn a profit in the future. So if I can make a semi-decent living on my writing, use that to pay off loans and move the eff out of my hometown or even just cut my hours, THEN I CAN DO MORE WRITING. AND BE HAPPIER. AND STUFF.

Getting back to writing soon

Yeah there's been a LOT more art than I anticipated doing, but I think I've borked my hand up from doing all this art stuff sooo back to writing it is!
Also, I was sorta sick for the past week or so which killed a lot of my brain to do any sort of writing. But hey, I messed around with art programs so at least I can make my own inviting thumbnails for my writing!!
Anyyywwaaayyys, getting back into the swing of things soonish!

Posted 9 years agoSooo I've got several different outlines typed up, and I've been scrolling around through FA a lot more just to get a feel for the writing scene. That being said, I'm still a little lost.
What exactly are most people looking for when they look at writing on FA? Kink writing, fanfiction, original settings and characters? One shots, novels, short stories, novellas? Do people want a fic they can read and get a blush on their face in twenty minutes or under, do they want to immerse themselves in a world, or do they just want a little slice of life about a wolf that got a coffee order wrong?
If anyone has any comments I'd love to hear them! I don't know what to post next, I do love writing about Ancient Egypt but I have several other things, including Zootopia fic, on the backburner. Fetish pieces are a little iffy for me as I am not into vore, tentacles, babyfurs, and things of that nature which tends to be the domination of the kink scene.
Anyways, let me know!

Heeeelllloooo everyone, I'm a werewolf Ancient Egyptian enthusiast who graduated college a short time ago! I finally took the plunge and have started posting my Egyptian short story here, and I really hope everyone enjoys it! :D
I'm fairly friendly for the most part, I LOOOVE talking about writing and my characters, and I've gotten back into general roleplaying! I'm currently GullWulf on felia.org and just got two of my characters up there for anyone who's interested :D
Over the next few days my first Egyptian story will be complete, so stay tuned as I am letting it play out in parts~
