Hey guys, so, this journal is going to be very personal to me and a trauma dump of sorts. I'm about to share a piece of trauma for the purpose of shedding light on the fact that others who are going through something similar are not alone, and so I can just write it once and not have to explain it again. But of course, questions are welcome.
When I was 12, I moved schools. After I moved schools, I was severely bullied, I was mentally tortured and constantly in survival mode, so much so the police got involved. The one friend I had was super toxic and I ended up not being friends with her anymore. I had a couple of friends outside of school but honestly, they were also toxic, and I couldn't confide in them. As for my family, we're fine now, but back then I had a terrible relationship with them as they neglected my needs and chronically invalidated me. So basically, I had no one to turn to. Until one day.
I want to interrupt my story real quick to give context. Because of all this accumulated trauma, I'm diagnosed with something called BPD, or Borderline Personality Disorder. I highly recommend doing research on that. In a lot of people's cases, and in my case, people develop something called an "FP", or "Favorite Person". It's an intense love and sometimes romantic feeling you develop for someone because they can provide for you what you're lacking trauma-wise. It sounds like pure bliss but is often times a very toxic thing, almost like becoming addicted to drugs. In my case it was not romantic but was very intense love that had I guess "romantic" undertones, which feels weird to say.
So anyway, that one day, I met a woman who became like a mentor figure to me, to put it simply. I confided with her about my bullying, and she helped me through it. She would nurture me like a mother. We did crafts together and went out for ice cream. We did so much together. She taught me so many important life lessons, and, to put it bluntly, she was my angel. She was the mom I always wanted. I loved her and insanely enough she loved me too.
Fast forward 3 years, I found a school where other kids accepted me, and even started dating boys, which I thought was impossible for someone like me so hated at my old school. This is where I met my lifelong partner, Ash. I was doing so well, yet, I took it for granted. I wanted to spend all my time talking to the woman who saved me, and continue the relationship we had. It eventually became really toxic, so in my best interest, she cut ties with me. So, I lost her. It hurt me so much. It was the most painful thing I've ever endured. I never got to ask her for relationship advice. I started hurting myself and fell into a deep depression. {I gained a ton of weight.}
I have cut down on hurting myself significantly, but believe it or not, the pain and grief has not died down whatsoever. IT IS 12 YEARS LATER. I still miss her. I still love her. She is still my angel. I still wish she could be my mother. I have done lots of work to "move on" and some things have changed and improved. I've circled around to the idea of acceptance somewhat recently but it always cycles back to the other stages of grief. Once in a while I'll have phases where I cry hysterically at night, and that's what the past week has been for me. I just lie in bed hoping she still misses me and loves me. Before leaving, she told me I'd be in her heart for lifetime, but IDK how much of that is true.

PTSD strikes again... :r
Posted a year agoSo I somewhat recently learned I have a PTSD diagnosis, which I have been waiting to get my whole life. Today it was very prominent. Just hearing my dad walking around the house makes me gasp in fear because he used to have these violent outbursts where he'd slam shit around, scream, and threaten us. He seemed very confused about my reaction today and I didn't want to tell him why.
{Not that I was much better. I had anger issues as a kid and well into adulthood. Things would get physical. I hate this about myself and I think I've finally stopped, and I haven't lashed out in years.}
I'm also just thinking a lot about childhood and how rough it was. It affects my abilities to socialize with my peers and trust my parents. Usually I am able to distract myself but there isn't much to distract with right now.
Plus I have ART BLOCK.
Anyways, everything just hurts emotionally rn.

Really lonely right now
Posted a year agoSo, life has been going pretty good this past month. At the beginning of 2024, I was paranoid af and very angry. But then after a med change I've been feeling a lot better. Thing is, I'm lonely af. I can't realistically work due to my mental illness and I'm too poor for school. So I'm on disability while my fiancé is the breadwinner.
Sorry for rambling. The point is, being home all the time while my loved ones are busy living a full life is a lonely, soul-crushing feeling and I would like a friend to talk with. I just don't know what to do with myself... 💔

Posted 2 years agoYesterday Ash ( ) finally popped the question after 11 1/2 years together, and obviously I said yes!! 💚💙💚💙
I'm totally speechless, being proposed to completely rendered me breathless and at a loss for words.
The funny thing is, as soon as I got some time away from everyone else, I had a panic attack. I wanted to take our relationship to the next step, but at the core I didn't want it to change. I'm so scared of change yet I'm so desperate for it. Everything is always moving to slow or too fast for my liking.
After a few hours this sense of panic washed away. Now I'm just happy to be here~ 💚
) finally popped the question after 11 1/2 years together, and obviously I said yes!! 💚💙💚💙 I'm totally speechless, being proposed to completely rendered me breathless and at a loss for words.

Posted 2 years agoWhile I'm not as active as I used to be on here, I'm doing my best to clean up my profile and keep it up to date!
Haven't been able to go to cons or commission anything because I'm poor af, but leave me a comment or DM and I will be glad to chat and catch up! ^^
I'm still drawing a lot, but it's pretty much all non-color pencil sketches. I'll make stuff in Dreams for PS4 as well. Maybe I'll upload some stuff.
{Right now I'm uploading some old fursuiting photos from Fur-Xoticon 2016, the only convention I've ever suited at (because the suit pretty much immediately fell apart when I got back... shows how much I have to learn if I ever get into fursuit making again! ^^' ) }
I think big things are on the horizon for me. I just graduated from DBT therapy (which you can look up if you want to know about it), and I may possibly get engaged to Ash soon?? So, yeah, hella exciting stuff!! A new chapter is unfolding for me! :D

{Things I learned while making fursuits}

{As most of you know, I've been hard at work on building Sonikku's head and handpaws. I wanted to make a reflection journal of sorts to tell of what I've learned, the pros and cons of my construction choices, advice for others/myself in the future, and lastly, give credit to the furs who made helpful tutorials, talked to me personally, or simply just let me study their head in order to apply new ideas to the head.
What I did well:
-Implemented my 2D art style into the head.
-The eyes in general. I think I had a good choice in material for the eyes. Which were glitter foamies for the eyelashes (girly touch), and white foamies. Implented my 2D art style into irises which worked very nicely.
-Made her a nice velcro-on wig.
-Implanted ears onto Necomimi which was then implanted onto the head, under the velcro-wig. Works like a charm!
-Used circle template for gauges.
-Vinyl tongue. Why don't people do this!?!?
-Foam padding on gloves to give handpaws shape. Works well, and provides a nice underlayer for the paws to keep hands cool.
-Getting Under-Armour-y like activewear to wear under clothes/suit in my fursona's fur color. This way I won't need a body suit and it blends in with the rest of the partial suit. Also good because my fursona wears outfits anyway.
-Vinyl lips and nose.
-Symmetrical for the most part.
-Was inspired by many other styles and took lots of advice.
Advice for future-self and others:
-Got hot glue EVERYWHERE. PLEASE be careful, because hot glue does not look or feel nice, especially when it's in the fur.
-Dog trimmer for shaving, not a human trimmer.
-Make sure you have a decent and organized workspace for yourself. This also means keep tools/materials well contained, put everything back where you found it, keep a vacuum on you at all times, have something to catch scrap fur/foam with, and keep a trashcan next to you with trash bags so you can empty the trash.
-Make sure to use the right tools for the job. Always use an Exacto or craft razor blade knife to cut out fur pieces!
-Get a surplus of materials if possible.
-Eyebrows on my part were too bushy and asymmetrical.
-I would order teeth/claws from someone who knows how to make them. Otherwise, Sculpey away! I wansn't too good at it... :r Again, don't overdo the hot glue.
-Time Management is key!
-Take regular breaks, especially when stressed. Destress completely before going back to work. Make sure you are mentally stable at the moment when working!
-Conceal raw edges on fabric pieces BEFORE applying.
-Learn to use a sewing machine. Poor Ash did all the hand-sewing!

I've tried to make accessories for her, but they all break because I'm not making them with the proper mediums... So, I'd like to commission some decently-priced and decent-to-good quality accessories! If anyone knows of any fursuit makers, please let me know! Here are some accessories I want to commission...
-Fursuit sandals with desired colors/patterns
-Plugs and tunnels for Soni's 1 1/2 inch gauges with desired designs.
-Not completely relevant to fursuits but if anyone can make a studded leather bracelet with my desired colors please let me know!
