New Secondary Sonas Creation
Posted 10 years agoWhen it comes to furs that have multiple sonas, there are 2 types I've observed. There are the furs who write or draw comics and attribute these multiple sonas to separate characters in an artistic fashion, for instance

The other type of fur with varying sonas has more of a multiple personality disorder. Lots of different characters in which they connect to in similar ways; no matter if they suit one or more, for instance

Being that I only connect to 'Gus' in the way I feel a fursona should, I prefer to think of myself as the former.
That being said, I'd like to plan out two additional sonas for use as secondary characters in some future work. I'm considering retiring 'Toffee' and my 'Arcanine' (which I've never actually used in the first place) during this experiment. Being that my 'Derpy Suit' (refering to the first fursuit I ever made myself... before I knew anything about fursuit creation) is representative of Toffee, I may wait to retire toffee until I have my suit of 'Gus.'
Here's what I have in mind.
Character #1:
Name: Maxamillian "Max"
Gender: Male
Species: Lion
City of Origin: New York City, NY
Now Living: Tampa, FL
Education: Graduated MIT with an MBA
Languages: English
Coloration: Main: Brown/Dark Tan, Body: Orange/Tan (Avoid Yellows)
Body Type: Highly Athletic
Clothing: Button Down Shirts, Vest, Suits, Ties, Professional Dress for all occasions.
Common Props: Fedora, Cane, Fencing Foil/Saber
Personality: Stern, Dominant, Focused, Honorable, Know-it-all, Respectful, Patriotic, Slightly Goofy when he thinks he can get away with it or when alone.
Flaws: Doesn't like water, Expects other to cater to him
Favorite Holiday: Memorial Day

Clothing: Tee & Khaki, Casual (Favorite Tee Shirt is Green with a white Recycling symbol on the front)
Common Props: Eucalyptus Branch & Leaf
Personality: Clingy (to everyone), Loves to Hug, Romantic, Poetic, Emotional, Always eating especially when nervous
Flaws: Lazy, Often misinterprets language or intention, Lets his heart lead him while often ignoring logic, Speaks his mind especially when it comes to Ecological awareness.
Favorite Holiday: Arbor Day.

Posted 11 years agoI commissioned a couple artists at Megaplex and one actually looked for clarification on my hair! That's awesome! Usually artists have just gone off my refs of what other artists have interpreted my hair to be - but this one looked for a real like reference.

That's pretty damned close to what I was going for. It also looks a lot closer to the rocker look than the Sonic look, just like I wanted :)

Posted 12 years agoBelow is a Livejournal post about my fursuit maker. I'm still waiting confidently and patiently that she will be able to take her suspension from FA as a sign that she needs to get to work and finish by the deadline.
I'm a Journalism Teacher. I teach Yearbook, Newspaper and TV Production. Deadlines are LAW. They are not simple things to be trifled with or ignored and only in extreme situations should deadlines be moved. This is what I teach my students and this is what I expect in professionals.

Another Subspecies Change
Posted 13 years ago alatus and I were looking through posts of dogs on Craigslist earlier and with a little help from google images we found a breed of dog called "Catahoula Leopard Dog" which is a type of Cur. The first thing she said was,"Wow, that looks like Toffee!"
She was right. As derpy as Toffee's fursuit is, it's a perfect breed to show the color pattern and so much more eloquent than saying "Leopard/Dingo Mix"

It wasn't too long ago that I changed Gus from "Australian Shepard" to "Bernese Mountain Dog" so I figure I can simply upgrade Toffee's sub species as well ^_^
I'd love to hear any comments about the changes I've been doing with my sonas.
SAI for Mac - Use & Troublshooting
Posted 13 years agoNot long ago I downloaded a copy of SAI Paint Tools for my Mac (http://bebluetoo.deviantart.com/art.....-0-3-148646344) I'd been a bit put off with it since it was developed for PC.
I tried it out, but for some reason it isn't working with my Wacom Tablet's pressure sensor.
I've primarily worked in Photoshop and the tablet works perfect there.
Does anyone have any advice on using SAI, perhaps there's a setting I don't know or a pen tip I'm suppose to use. Does anyone have a lot of experience with SAI that can help me?
