STREAM DELAY TODAY, sorry!
Posted 9 years agoSo uh I have a bunch of evening errands to run and dinner to make; my stream will be later than planned today, though I am still shooting for one! Hope you're all having a good Friday out there! Cheers, guys!

NSFW sketches for a BANGUP GOOD CAUSE
Posted 9 years ago(NSFW link warning, it's tasteful, but there's definitely a happy dingle down below!)
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21219717
I don't do advertisements often, but Eski, aka the inimitable
Wolf-nymph, is a long time friend, co-worker, and inspiration to me. She's gunning to raise money for a gift on behalf of her health-troubled boyfriend, and I am all about that stuff. She's come up with some really clever incentivizing by offering up NSFW sketch commissions-- something I don't believe she does normally-- and I want her to have as much visibility and support as humanly possible.
As a special incentive just from me, anyone who goes above and beyond donating to her for their commission (i.e. tips with a significant percentage above the required monetary requirement for art) will receive a bonus 30 minute stream sketch of your character from me if you can show me in a private note of proof/screenshot for the transaction. This can be a general OR tastefully mature/erotic sketch, and can be expected to fall in line quality-wise with any single piece/body drawing from my sketch pages (examples: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....Esmallload.jpg , https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....hpagesmall.jpg , and https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....hpagesmall.jpg ), possibly even with flats or grayscale shading!
Even if you don't have the finances to donate or participate, spreading the word on her behalf would be a huge support. Thank you, everyone, for reading. I hope you're all having a good Thursday out there so far!

A fabulous art friend is looking for some COMMISSION WORK.
Posted 9 years agoI know I only very occasionally do this, but a particularly wonderful, sweet long time art friend of mine,
Syndarin, is looking to get some extra commission work, so I thought it'd be great to use my visibility to help her out. Go check it!
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7817617/
Syn is someone I've gotten to know over a number of years now in my streams. She's unendingly sweet, lovely, gracious, studious, and hard working. I'd back her with my own reputation any day-- and getting to watch her improve over the years has been both an honor and a delight.
Cheers, everybody! I hope you're having a good Tuesday so far!

COMMISSION SLOTS ARE MOSTLY FILLED HURRAY :D
Posted 9 years agoAaand at long last, it's that time again, guys! I've been intending to get a new queue lined up for quite a while, so as promised, here we are! I want to throw out as a caveat right now that I may or may not be finished with this by the time RMFC comes around; I'm pretty sure I'll be headed out for that on the 11th of the month, so I'll be on a brief hiatus while that happens. It's my final con of the year, though, so once I'm back, it's down to business for the rest of 2016!
Now, ONWARDS, TO STANDARD COPY PASTED GLORY:
NOTES TO BE AWARE OF FOR THIS BATCH OF ORDERS:
As I mentioned, I'll be gone for a few days starting in approximately 1 week, thanks to RMFC-- but I'll get back to work promptly after once I'm home again! Other than that, all standard rules apply. It's a first come, first serve deal unless I've told you offhand already that you have a slot to honor-- and you know who you are. :>
PROTOCOL FOR THOSE LOOKING TO OBTAIN A SLOT:
- Successfully claim a slot when open via my journals (SPECIFY AMOUNT OF HOURS)
- Send me a note containing ALL relevant information, written and visual, of the characters in question. This includes descriptions, piece expectations/wants, and ALL absolutely “must have” elements.*
- Send payment to kdavis51[at]uco.edu via paypal WITH A NOTE ATTACHED of your FA username. If I don’t have the latter, it’s hard to tell who sent me what. Don’t be that person!* Seriously though, notes with usernames attached are SUPER ESSENTIAL to make pay identification easier, especially now that Paypal's UI looks like a crappy phone app.
*ALL NOTES AND PAYMENTS MUST BE SUBMITTED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF A SLOT CLAIM UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED OTHERWISE. Failure to do this will AUTOMATICALLY FORFEIT your slot for that round. Please, if you cannot get me pay and information in this window, DON’T make a claim in the first place. I WILL BE ENFORCING THIS MORE AGGRESSIVELY THAN I USED TO, be warned! Exceptions are to be made purely at my discretion and only with clear, prior details given as to the circumstances.
SLOTS (STANDARD):
1.
Serandite - 6 hour sketch page - PAID/INFO SENT - DONE
2.
StormWolff - 4 hours - PAID/INFO SENT - DONE
3.

4.

2.
however many. Like I said, y'all know who you are.
PREVIOUS QUEUE (for Han's memory purposes) OF THINGS WITH FINISH PRIORITY:
1.
Lionel - still need confirmation on some stuff, but had 6.6 hours prepaid, sketch for portrait and concept quickie for ladybug cat is currently done and idling
2.
Simpl1 Tweekie them deekies (should take 15 minutes, tweak on previous work)
3.
Televassi - last 4 hours on his continued piece (will be 12 total given the 8 paid/finished previously) when timing permits - DONE
4.
Fenric 8 hour Frida Mucha + Sara's icon whenever I can catch them in stream! - 1 h completed
5.
Bast_TW Sketch PAGE complete, waiting on choice for which to take to a speedpaint finish
6.
Silverbirch - Last 2 hours of impromptu four hours Hysteria. Can probably finish this today once slots are hashed out. - DONE
NOTE: I know I stated this before, but for CLIENTS I HAVE =NOT= PERSONALLY PROMISED WORK, 20-25 hours are openly available. Clients I HAVE promised work, your hours don't count towards my "open" ones right now, even though they are valid. I'm shooting for around 40 hours of work in total, but whatever happens, happens. Thank you for reading!
1, 2, 3, open! READY SET GO.
(0/25-ish hours left)
TO ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS PROMISED A SLOT BUT DID NOT YET CLAIM: I will still accept you into the secondary queue through tomorrow evening so long as you speak up! Again, you guys know who you are. The only 'filled' slots are my standard grab-and-go now.

New slot queue tomorrow!
Posted 9 years agoHowdy hey, everyone! I just wanted to post a polite heads up that I'll be taking on new slots tomorrow for anyone interested! Since my previous queue has dwindled down to a scant handful of pieces I can't really work on without client presence/etc (Fenric, Lionel and Bast), I figured it was about high time to (finally) line up my next batch of orders so I can get more productivity going on my behalf!
As is my attempted usual, this is a warning post to give the exact time for official openings. They will be open tomorrow, August 2nd, as of 7 PM CST! Proxies are allowed to claim for friends/acquaintances so long as the client abides by all of my contact timeframes in my ToS. Hope you've all been well out there, and if anyone has any questions, feel free to post them here!
Cheers, guys!

Not dead, I promise!
Posted 9 years agoSo, I was supposed to leave a note here on something like Friday but didn't. ANYWAY.
I promise I'm well, guys! For those that were in my last stream, I'm pretty sure I already mentioned the reason for my absence, but for the rest of you, a short explanation of my brief hiatus is in order.
... Monster Hunter Generations came out and I uh, may have taken a few days to go binge on it in an attempt to work the addiction out of my system.
I promise I'll be back soon. Once I've butchered a few more monsters and turned their hides into cute outfits.
Happy Wednesday! Be well, my wonderful friends and followers!

Possible on-the-spot commission stream?
Posted 9 years agoOkay. SO. I'm all back from Anthrocon (which was amazing and I still need to write a proper journal post about) and my remaining commission orders have now dwindled to a tiny handful of clients (around 2-3) with semi-signficant hour lumps, whose pieces would definitely benefit from client presence and input during construction phase... which leaves me at a bit of an impasse when they aren't there.
Having run through the last of my side queue for portraits and icons as of yesterday, I'm debating on a kind of "come and get it live" stream today and/or tomorrow. This would be a first come/first serve on the spot commission snatch-and-paint; it would be icons, speedpaints, portraits, sketch work, and so forth, with basically no rhyme or reason beyond someone being present, claiming on the spot, and getting me reference for a oneshot start-to-finish while they hang around. It'd be a good way to make some money and kill time without lining up an entirely new queue (which I hesitate to do quite yet), so I just have to ask:
Would anyone out there be game for this kind of thing?

Brb, Anthrocon! (+MEME ACTION) :D
Posted 9 years agoI thought it would be best to get this journal out of the way before I sleep, so. Here I go!
As many of you may or may not know, I'll be attending Anthrocon this year! In fact, I'm going to be the official Dealer Assistant to my good friend
Spartadog in the Dealer's Den, and you can find me during the con behind his table! In fact, I'm stealing a meme from him in his journal here ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7643390/ ) to post. ONWARDS.
THE MEME:
Where are you staying?
Courtyard by Marriott
What day are you getting there?
Wednesday, it seems!
Who will you be rooming with?
Spartadog and other lovely artists I know through him!
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Lots of folks! I'll likely be glued to Sparta and the artist contingent while Dealer's Den is open, though who knows where else I'll be otherwise. I've got multiple clients-turned-friend who'll be there to hang with too!
What is the best way to find you?
You can find me behind Sparta's table as his dealing assistant, table M18, so his journal says!
Are there any panels you might be attending?
I have no idea. :D
Are you hosting any panels?
NOPE.
What do you look like?
I'm a near-sighted, diminutive androgynous stringbean in loud Hawaiian shirts and odd pajama pants, most of the time!
Will you be suiting?
Nope, I shall not be!
What is your gender?
Androgynous, but you can call me whatever. She/her/etc is usually the default, but nothing is technically wrong as long as it's respectful! (Seriously, don't panic if you call me Sir, it's totally fine.)
How old are you?
27!
How tall are you?
5'4'' on a humid day if you count the hair.
Are you mated/in a relationship?
I'm not particularly interested in looking for one, please and thank you!
Can I talk to you?
Certainly! I'm here to socialize as well as learn how to be a dealer!
Can I touch you?
Polite/neutral touching is generally fine! Just nowhere you wouldn't touch a complete stranger unpermitted.
Can I buy you drinks?
I'll go with Sparta's line of thinking here as a tentative yes. Closed container is preferred/typically fine. If it's an open beverage/glass I'd definitely like to have it pass from the bartender's hand directly to mine.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
If you ask permission, I typically don't mind hugs at all! No snuggling from the general public though, please.
Are you nice?
I think so! It's always hard to judge oneself with these questions, but I'd like to pretend I'm approachable.
How long are you going?
Will be there from Wednesday to Monday <-- a la Sparta's answer. I'm with him!
Will you be going to parties?
Apparently there may be some art parties in the works, but I'm following my dealer lead there. I tend to be a geeky introvert, so 'typical' room parties are likely not my cup of tea.
Will you be performing?
I will not!
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
You can call me by name (I answer to Han or Hanmonster as readily as Kaly), give me a tap, a wave, etc, the usual! I'll be wearing some loud badges for easy recognition anyway.
Can I take your picture?
With permission, most certainly! I tend to be a comically unphotogenic gremlin, but I'll do it!
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
LEARN TO BE A DEALER, HELL YEAH.
Also, GEEK ABOUT LOTS OF AMAZING OTHER ARTISTS THERE.
Also, meet people. All the people. See clients and friends!
Gonna be GREAT. See some of you on the other side! And wish me luck on my flight tomorrow! Cheers, guys!
As a sidenote, I'll be flying back home again on the 6th of July, and after a couple of days I'll return to my remaining commission queue to finish up. I'm just not going to be working on much of anything from it in the meanwhile because my laptop would explode trying to open the gargantuan master files I use on the workhorse computer-- which isn't going.
Be well, everyone! And see you soon!

(2/10) SIDE-QUEUE ICON AND PORTRAIT SLOTS OPEN :D
Posted 9 years agoSince this worked out so well last couples of times, I figured it was worth repeating! TL;DR: this is a slightly "restricted" but simplified side queue that I'll be working on alongside my 'normal' queue-- with a few quirks thrown in on the side. Please keep reading if you're interested! These will be the same sort of casual and/or informal slots as before, meaning that they will be treated as WARMUP and BREAKTIME pieces between bigger works, and painting with client presence (or even streaming presence; I may do some offline on my 'down' days) 's NOT guaranteed. So, ONWARDS.
WHAT AM I OFFERING THIS ROUND?
There are two choices! I'll be doing my usual icons (45 flat USD and averaging about 1.5h, finals are 600x600 and 100x100 for ready to go use) as well as slightly longer, but still mostly face-focussed "experimental portraits" (60 USD and 2 hours, per my newhourly) which will still likely be icon-able but might go down a little further, have a bit more detail with the extra time, etc. As with ALL my other slot protocols, PAYMENT AND INFO ARE DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF A CLAIM. Unlike normal slots, though, you CAN just post the information in comments below via this journal, since it's expected to be short and sweet.
ONWARDS THEN. TO PROTOCOL.
1. Comment in this journal with the following information. You MAY post this as your initial "claim" comment OR preface with some iteration of "I would like a slot!" if you're nervous about losing your place, etc. Just please use the same chain to post in afterwards so I can keep things tidy. I'll respond to your comment to confirm that we're good!
USERNAME: (You!)
TYPE OF COMMISSION YOU ARE WANTING: (icon at 45USD and approximately 1.5h OR experimental portraits at 60USD and 2h)
RELEVANT REFERENCE MATERIAL: (Remember that this is basically a face and/or neck up, POSSIBLY with elements of hands/stuff above waists if it's a portrait and I go that far, so that's the really important stuff to link).
PREFERRED MOOD OR EXPRESSION: (Exactly what it says on the tin. Keep it succinct and straight forward!)
2. Once you've posted a form, please send 45 USD (for icons) or 60USD (for portraits) to Kdavis51[at]uco.edu via paypal with a TAG OF YOUR USERNAME (only) ATTACHED. If you don't tag your payment, I can't tell who's good to go!
3. That's it! Ready, set, go! :D

COMMISSION SLOTS ARE MOSTLY CLOSED, WHOO!
Posted 9 years agoBefore I start off, I just want to make everyone aware that AS OF THIS QUEUE, MY PRICES HAVE OFFICIALLY INCREASED BY 5 USD PER HOUR TO A TOTAL OF 30 USD PER HOUR, as opposed to the prior 25. I know I've brought this up in past journals, but I'd like everyone to be doubly aware that it is NOW IN EFFECT, so no one's caught with their trousers down. That said, it's time to move on. Hurray!
AGAIN, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I AM NOW WORKING AT 30 USD PER HOUR INSTEAD OF 25. Beyond this, just refer to my usual price sheet (which has been updated) for details!
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13631620/
NOTES TO BE AWARE OF FOR THIS BATCH OF ORDERS:
Pricing aside, I'm going to be handling this in the usual first come, first serve manner. HOWEVER, if you are a client I had previously promised a slot to (you wonderful folks know who you are and I thank you dearly), please just make sure to post on this thread within 24 hours so I know you're game for being on this queue. I will be putting you guys in kind of a 'separate' queue from my usual hours, so your time won't be added to what I'm offering in the free for all bin. Basically, if you're someone who has an honor-system slot promise, don't worry about first claims, and if you are a standard client, standard rules apply. Everything WILL be compiled in the usual way once I'm finished; this is mostly just to help me keep track of my own hours and hopefully arrive at about 40(...ish) total.

(--/25-ish hours left)
TO ANYONE ELSE WHO WAS PROMISED A SLOT BUT DID NOT YET CLAIM: I will still accept you into the secondary queue through tomorrow evening so long as you speak up! Again, you guys know who you are. The only 'filled' slots are my standard grab-and-go now.

Home, Anthrocon, Prices, and the like!
Posted 9 years agoSO, I probably should have scraped together the wherewithal to post this yesterday, but I wound up crashing out for something like 14 hours straight and then spent my entire waking day being a flesh tumor on the couch. The TL;DR of this post is that I made it home safe from my trip and am in one piece-- hurray!
Furlandia really was a hoot and a half.
Simpl1 was a wonderful friend to put me up (as were his parents for the time we crashed at their place!), and I got to meet a ton of unexpected but thrilling people at the con!
Korat (whom I recognized in half-suit from across the dealer's den because, holy crap, I was suddenly sure I'd drawn that kirin before?) gave me an incredibly sweet signed copy of her amazing comic, which I will now store among my treasures, and I bought an adorable mini-print from the very skilled
Raptorarts (whose outfit was awesome), who ALSO gave me an adorable steampunk heart magnet and necklace, and
Liontracks and her very, VERY supportive friend even invited us over to dinner at their digs for potato soup after the final day of events proper. I accidentally started an art jam, slunk around the back of several panels, swam in pools, bought SUPER ART (and nerded a bit) from
-Yote- (who is wonderful), helped dump food on the Ultimate Tech Wizard
Nullreff from a joint called Burgerville whose glory I had been previously unaware of, and much, much more! I may even be doing a panel there next year if I come back (which I tentatively plan on as of right now unless things change), so you might see me doing something like a 2-ish hour how-to-do-the-art demo. Seriously, pretty much everyone was incredibly stellar and sweet and it was so wildly humbling that I was actually recognized on occasion. Talk about surreal. Overall, a very, very nice con experience! I even managed to avoid the infamous con-crud as a take home!
The last two days I've basically written off for recovery, because I did come home from my flight pretty much bushwhacked. It was thankfully a FAR less eventful trip coming back than going-- because oh, have I mentioned yet how there was a tornado visible from the tarmac? Well uh. Yeah. That was a thing that happened the day I left. Everything seemed like "ordinary" bad weather until everyone's smart phones pinged with mass tornado warnings while I was literally mid-step into the airplane. After ten or so minute of sitting pensively in our seats, someone actually pointed out a VISIBLE FUNNEL CLOUD out the right side windows in the distance, and the intercom spluttered on to inform us that we were being evacuated to the lowest parts of the airport.
Needless to say, I ate a lot of valium that day, but I lived! And ironically by the time we WERE allowed to take off (following a second trip through the TSA, charming, I know), I was so tired and drugged to my ears that I barely cared for all the comparatively minor turbulence! Hurray, silver linings! I'm glad to have that mess as a harrowing hindsight story, now.
Tomorrow, I'll finally be starting up work again as usual; I have a few spare hours of my last queue remaining to clear out that I'd like to take care of in the next day or so, and after that, I can pick up entirely new work. I have an 8-10 hour Mucha finally more or less lined up for
Xigbar that will be added to said new queue, and a couple of slots have been promised to some very kind people who helped me out at the con in person, but you can count on at least 20-odd normal hours available for the first people to grab them. My goal is to work every day up until the 27th of the month. Why the 27th?
WELL. That leads to the other little thing.
I'm going to Anthrocon! :D
Spartadog is being an incredible sweetheart and putting me up with his family for a couple of days before we head out to the hotel, where I'll be crashing with him and some other dealers for the duration of the thing. If you want to find me, swing by his table! I'm his official dealer's assistant, which should be a fabulous opportunity to learn how exactly con dealing works in the best possible environment for it to be prepared for dealing myself come next year, and will probably be wearing recognizable badges/lanyards wherever with my art conspicuously in sight. I won't be selling any art of my own at his booth (but his stuff is super rad and you should all buy it), though I may take a sketchbook and/or possibly some original doodles in case I get a wild hair to try and trade some art for pocket money (... or other things) in my off time. That, and just having a sketchbook is always a good plan at this sort of thing, eh?
I'm probably forgetting something, but I think that's the gist of damn near everything. Furlandia was great, Rath was great, everyone was great, being home with Vash again is great, and I SO look forward to getting back on the grind and streaming for you wonderful people tomorrow.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! :D Cheers!

Brb, Vacation (and Furlandia)!
Posted 9 years agoNow that I've had a little while to settle in and get my brain sorted, it's high time to post a journal with some proper exposition on what's been happening, and what WILL be happening, for the sake of all you wonderful customers, watchers, and so forth. The past week or so has been pretty rough for FA as a whole, but for those who weren't following my little Twitter saga about it... well, I was one of the unfortunate users locked out of their account due to dated retrieval emails. It was basically Tumblr 2.0, with the exception of FurAffinity actually giving me the five minutes of time necessary to prove my case and, better still, actually get my account back in semi-reasonable time!
I am going to be putting more effort into spreading my roots beyond the site, despite it remaining my (as of yet indefinite) homestead. I need to figure out how to just get those helper tools people have mentioned to import over at Weasyl, and I also plan on making a Furry Network account (under Hanmonster, of course), some time this week. I technically also still have a deviantart account, though for personal reasons, I'm not sure I'll ever feel particularly comfortable being a regular there again. Either way, I'm still just over the moon with relief to have my footing back here. Lessons have been learned, and I would like more safety nets to make my future less scary.
ALSO. As of tomorrow, I will be ON VACATION (hurray!) and also on a plane to Washington! I'll be visiting
Simpl1 for exactly 1 week, from May 26th through June 2nd. We'll be at Furlandia when that's going on to check out the sights, and also just tooling around and doing the social thing as one does. FOR COMMISSIONERS STILL CURRENTLY WITH WORK IN PROGRESS FROM ME (and there are a handful with pieces from the tail end of my queue that were... delayed, thanks to FA's disastrous crash, which I apologize for): I will be reachable via notes through the site or email at KalyDali[at]gmail.com if you need anything! Since I won't be taking my tank-y workhorse computer with me, those leftover dregs of my last queue will just be put on hold until my return; I WILL be taking my (4+ year old) laptop with me, which is fine for very casual screwing around online and therefore a very adequate contact tool, but... well. Needless to say, it's feeling its age by now. And given the stupidly massive size at which I work now thanks to my work system's badass hauling power, I'm pretty sure just trying to OPEN any recent PSDs on the laptop would make it spontaneously combust.
I really do appreciate each and every one of you who've continued to support me, both passively through your observation and actively, be it via communicative, emotional, or financial support. Once I'm back from my trip and have (probably) taken about 24 hours to go shrug off inevitable jet lag, I plan on lining up a new work queue again with a full round's worth of hours. This queue's leftovers are first on the list to complete, but might as well get those next ducks in a row, eh?
Cheers to you all! I hope you have a FANTASTIC week coming, and I'll see you all on the other side!

TUMBLR DICKERY: a short story by Hanmonster.
Posted 9 years agoSo apparently Tumblr (which I use more for foliowing reference material and other artists these days than dumping art WIPs) recently had some kind of "security breach" from what I hear that prompted them to force all users to reset their passwords. This came with some unforeseen hiccups. I'm just going to quote my emails, because I'm a little beside myself.
ME:
So, apparently some recent "security breach" caused your site to automatically eject all accounts and force a password change in the last day or two. The problem with this is that my login email (kdavis51@uco.edu) was an email address generated during my time in college and literally no longer exists-- and hasn't for YEARS-- as it was deleted a set time after my graduation. With no ability to access my account you've basically locked me out of the site completely, including my art blog (hanmonsterart, which is a small part of my actual, wage-paying freelancer job) and others. I am currently screwed out of retrieving or resetting any of my accounts whatsoever and need someone to offer me a workaround/the ability to send password reset info to my current email, which is Kalydali@gmail.com. Please help.
TUMBLR:
Hello, Thanks for reaching out! You can get more information on regaining access to your account here:
https://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/acco.....gement If your question was about something else, please reply to this email. We try to alleviate wait times by getting you some info that might answer your question right away, but if it doesn't answer your question entirely, we definitely want to hear back from you so we can take another look.
Note, we cannot release password or account information for the security of all our users.
Thanks, Tumblr Support
ME:
Apparently no one actually read my inquiry. The email account with which I signed up (Kdavis51@uco.edu) LITERALLY NO LONGER EXISTS, nor is there ANY WAY TO ACCESS IT. It was an automatically generated email from the University of Central Oklahoma (hence the uco.edu at the end) and was automatically purged from existence a set amount of time after my graduation from college. I have no way of accessing ANY emails forwarded to it and, seeing as all accounts were automatically logged out on ALL SYSTEMS (including my phone and alternate non-work related laptop), there is no way for me to access my login settings or change addresses to which an email for password reset could be sent. Without the assistance of an actual staff related person, I have no capacity to verify, access, or reset the password to my main account: Hanmonsterart.
This account is part of my cross-platform work promotions as a freelancer for posting art WIPs and boosting my visibility to find more customers. It is part of my job. I can not just "make a new account" and scuttle it without repercussions. I also have a number of sideblogs off shooting from the same account, but I need this to be rectified. I need to have account access made possible again. I am willing to provide any account related information necessary to verify that my person is the rightful account owner, but this is ridiculous. I would appreciate more than an automatic response containing links that in no way help my situation.
TUMBLR:
Hello,
You can change the registered email address for your account by clicking "Settings" (under the Account menu at the top of the Dashboard) or by visiting https://tumblr.com/settings/account.
Note that at this time, you can only do this from a browser (on your computer or in a mobile browser), rather than in the app.
Thanks,
Doug

ME:
Again, apparently no one is reading the email containing my actual problem. I CAN NOT ACCESS "Settings" under my Account menu because I CAN NOT LOG INTO TUMBLR TO CHANGE IT, due to YOUR SITE'S AUTOMATIC LOGIN EJECTION FOLLOWING A SUPPOSED SITE SECURITY BREACH and FORCING said login to use that email. My account's login email is from a DEAD EMAIL ACCOUNT, with NO METHOD OF RETRIEVAL barring assistance from staff. Your site has automatically "... sent you an email with instructions to reset your password." TO MY DEAD EMAIL ACCOUNT. I CAN NOT CHANGE MY ACCOUNT SETTINGS because I CAN NOT LOG IN TO ALTER THEM. I am repeating myself for the third time. I need some actual HUMAN assistance here beyond an automatic response.
I don't know how I can make my problem any more clarified than this.
FIN.
Moral of the story? ... I uh. I'm still trying to figure that one out myself, actually. Either way, I'm not sure at this point if I'll ever have access to my current Tumblr account/extensions again, which would be a very disappointing loss considering the broad swath of artists and reference material I tracked there daily. If anyone ever attempts for whatever reason to contact me through there and gets no response, that may, regrettably, be why. I'd like to say I'm still hopeful as far as regaining access, though results thus far have not inspired much confidence.
On the upside, I'm finally off my family related hiatus and will be streaming very shortly! I hope you've all been having a pleasant week, eh?
-A Wild Hanmonster.

EDIT: ... Welp, I've gotten yet another response. Figured it would be appropriate to add. I'm... well.

Hello,
I’m really sorry about this! But since security is a top priority to us, we can’t give out the login info for an account. And as much as we sympathize with your dilemma, we have to honor the existing credentials. You’re welcome to create a new account at https://tumblr.com/register, and we hope we’ll see you again soon on Tumblr.
Thanks,

I apologize in advance for my language, but this is absolute, Grade A fucking bullshit. This is not how you conduct a business. This is not how you conduct a social media site. This is not how you conduct basic fucking customer service in ANY conceivable situation. I feel like this is gross and inexcusable and I am bordering on furious.

Note that at this time, you can only do this from a browser (on your computer or in a mobile browser), rather than in the app.

EDIT: ... Welp, I've gotten yet another response. Figured it would be appropriate to add. I'm... well.
TUMBLR:
Hello,
I’m really sorry about this!

Possible mini-hiatus through Thursday!
Posted 9 years agoI meant to post this up yesterday but wound up never getting around to it; my apologies for the radio silence, everyone! My mom arrived yesterday (somewhat chaotically) for a visit, and will be here in the apartment with us through about Thursday. Everything is all fine now, though I may be kind of absent from streaming and have no idea if I'll be able to do work until then, given the social and family distractions. By Friday, however, I should absolutely be back to my usual daily stream grind and back to chewing through the remainder of the queue!
Thank you for your patience, and I hope you're all having a good week so far!
(PS: HOW ABOUT THOSE NEW POKEMON EH GUYS? OH MY GOD I NEED ALL OF THEM RIGHT NOW.
PPS: for the love of all things holy Pokemon Company please give me some organic/feral looking final evos for all three starters so I can die happy

On prices, and the cost of future work.
Posted 9 years agoI've been deliberating over this for some time now, and due to Life happening, finally decided to muster up some courage and write about it.
I'll be needing to raise my hourly prices again soon. Being an artist, and being a freelancer who (technically) dictates my own wage, this has been a sore spot of anxiety, doubt, and second guessing for quite a while. My more logical brain is fully aware of how silly that is, but at the end of the day I still suffer from the same common issues of my "worth" being intrinsically tied to product as many other artists do, so of course it's a messy, tangled, inelegant subject to wrestle at best. I've questioned myself countless times if my quality vs. speed vs. customer service is worth the raise, and tentatively decided that, yes, it is. Or at least, by necessity, it now Must Be.
Without getting into a lot of detail, in the last few months my entire life has changed from a financial viewpoint. I've moved in with my sister to an apartment around Kansas City and have absorbed a lot of new, monthly costs of living that previously did not exist. I am currently buying the majority of amenities/supplies and groceries for two people, and a significant percentage of my savings have been depleted due to necessary borrowing from family.
Despite this, I am still able to make it. I don't want any of you to read this and think that I'm in hopeless or dire straights; the plain truth is that I'm not. I am incredibly lucky to have a job with a wage that allowed me to even absorb this much loss in the first place without going under, and it is absolutely, 100% thanks to you guys helping me keep up a good living freelancing in the fandom. The fact that I can support so much of my sister's costs and assist other family while still paying my own bills on time and occasionally splurging takeout or ice cream or days off to play Monster Hunter is both miraculous and humbling. I want you all to know that there isn't a day I don't feel thankful for the wild, amazing career I fell into here. So, despite these words in a tiny text box falling short of the incredible gratitude I have, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
But upping my wages would still help. After a lot of pained internal debate, I've tentatively settled on a 5 USD per hour increase, meaning that my current rate of 25 USD per hour will go up to 30 USD per hour. This will give me a little more padding to tuck away at the end of the day to help with any extra costs flying out of the nether. I'm not sure if I'll wait for one more queue load to enact it or not, and if this number is off-putting for potential customers, I apologize. I will continue to strive and make sure that every commissioner on my queue receives a piece they are 100% satisfied with in every way, and that every piece I turn out is to the best of my ability.
Thank you, sincerely, for reading. You guys are beyond wonderful.

Holy hell, 8 thousand watchers?! RAFFLE TIME.
Posted 9 years agoBefore I get too emotional or anything, I want to apologize for the radio silence today and yesterday! It was entirely due to life being a silly (though not particularly negative) distraction, and nothing akin to the weird horror of the apartment building next over catching fire has happened since. I should be all back to streaming norms tomorrow once I've actually slept a proper amount tonight.
ANYWAY, uh. Holy crap? Since when did I have EIGHT THOUSAND AMAZING PEOPLE watching me here in my gallery? I'm beyond humbled, verging on flummoxed. It's still hard for me to believe how I just kind of fell into this career sometimes; it's been more or less the best thing to ever happen to me, and I owe my wonderful living to you all. Thank you, sincerely, for your attention, your support, your kind words, your patronage. Everything. Seriously. I don't know if a text box will ever be able to accurately convey just how incredible this is to me.
I've been wanting to do something for my milestone, and I think I'm gonna hold a neat FREE ICON RAFFLE , to extend my thanks. This very journal will be where I hold it, even; all you have to do is post below in a comment with the following format! The only qualifier is being my watcher, which is basically all of you!
How'd you find my gallery, friend?: (I'm just curious how you've all managed to stumble across my work and follow me!)
Some reference for the icon if you win: (Exactly what it says on the tin; preferably give me a couple of ref links so I know what the character you'd like painted in case of winning looks like)
If you win, what expression would this character have? (Expression, mood, whatever! Just give me a few short keywords to go on!~)
And that's it! Seriously, you guys. Like, holy crap. I'm just. Aaaaah. ;_;
I'll leave this open for a couple of days, so let's say it's over Saturday night at 10 PM CST, cool? I'll draw a winner then! This is of course not disregarding my new queue in any way, but I figure I can swing for this as a warmup piece in the coming week or so pretty easily.

Zahrah! Congratulations! And thank you all so much for entering and well-wishing! COMMISSIONS SLOTS ARE FULL I THINK MAYBE
Posted 9 years agoAaand it’s that time again, guys! Today’s slots will be conducted in my usual manner (i.e. first come, first serve), so it’s exactly what you’re used to! Last round’s experiment with raffling/24 hour submission periods DID go really well though, so that’s something I’ll keep in my back pocket for the future and inevitably keep as a future option. Anyway, ONWARDS. HURRAY.
AS ALWAYS, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MY PRICES CURRENTLY SIT AT 25 USD PER HOUR/I HAVE ADDED A MINOR PRINT ADDENDUM ON MY PRICE SHEET BEFORE READING ON:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13631620/
NOTES TO BE AWARE OF FOR THIS BATCH OF ORDERS:
There’s only one thing to be aware of for this batch, really, and that is that I CANNOT TAKE ANY MORE PARTIAL OF DELAYED ORDERS at the moment. Right now I’ve still got a handful of in-progress/stalled pieces waiting for the clear to go again due to reasons beyond my control, and I’d like to clear those out before any more get added onto that pile. If you’d like a slot for this round, please make sure that you can pay IN FULL and get me all the necessary starting material within the standard 24 hour period, so I can handle your work from start to finish. Otherwise, everything’s open!

1. 4 hour piece for Ceridwen rolled over (with piece finish priority) - in progress, 45m
2. Lionel still for some point
3. Emmacreatures has 4 hours of 8 paid for a Mucha, still stalled due to reference.
4. 2 of 10 warmup pieces still grabbable in my previous queue.
5. Stuff for Rath. Ooh la la, Senpai. - 3h 30m in progress so far
NOTE: As usual, I MAY take a few extra hours if I feel like it for known clients/super interesting piece proposals/etc, but that's completely at my discretion. Hard cap for this round might be as high as 40 hours, but no more. Any pieces from the previous queue will have a passive finish priority over the new one, though I’ve only got a single ready-to-go (fairly short) piece from that left over, so it’s not a big deal.

New commission slots tomorrow!
Posted 9 years agoI just thought it would be appropriate/courteous to give you guys a heads up! SO. I'm getting to the end of my queue(... s. queues actually-- almost through BOTH simultaneously, wow), and since all I think I have left that I can actively work on is one or two icons and
Ceridwen's thing (been waiting to see if they turned up in stream at all), it's about time to get a new queue charged up!
I'll likely be opening up for a pretty significant chunk of hours, too-- like 30-40 for the coming week-ish. I plan on opening at EXACTLY (... ish) 7 PM CST ON SATURDAY if you'd like a slot for anything from icons to full pieces, so keep a lookout!
STUFF TO REMIND MYSELF I STILL HAVE IN THE WINGS (and assure folks I haven't forgotten them!):
1.
Ceridwen - 4 hour piece (final ready-to-go piece available on my current queue, will have finish priority before anything on this following new queue!)
2. Two non-priority slots yet to do that'll be finished this week, for
Woodside and
Cilan as warmups for the first couple workdays!
3. THINGS for
Simpl1, as usual. Because Reasons.
4.
Lionel is still up for a slot for whenever in the future??? No money/info yet exchanged, so it's an honorary/reserve slot thing to just keep in mind
5.
Emmacreatures half-paid for an 8 hour Mucha, still waiting on full reference material (which is currently being worked on via another artist) before piece can be worked on. Will be rolled over into the new queue whenever reference is obtained.
Cheers, guys! I hope you're all having a nice Friday so far!

(0/10) SIDE-QUEUE ICON AND PORTRAIT SLOTS FULL :D
Posted 9 years agoAaand it's that time again! Well, sort of. My little experiment with taking on icons for warmups/etc was a huge success last go, I thought, and now that I've plowed through the last of that list, it's time to take some more! These will be the same sort of casual and/or informal slots as before, meaning that they will be treated as WARMUP and BREAKTIME pieces between bigger works, and painting with client presence is NOT guaranteed. Now, on to the important stuff!
WHAT AM I OFFERING THIS ROUND?
There are two choices! I'll be doing my usual icons (40 flat USD and averaging about 1.5h, finals are 600x600 and 100x100 for ready to go use) as well as slightly longer, but still mostly face-focussed "experimental portraits" (50 USD and 2 hours, per my hourly) which will still likely be icon-able but might go down a little further, have a bit more detail with the extra time, etc.
USERNAME: (You!)
TYPE OF COMMISSION YOU ARE WANTING: (icon at 40USD and approximately 1.5h OR 2 hour experimental portrait at 50USD and 2h)
4. Once you've posted a form, please send 40 USD (for icons) or 50USD (for portraits) to Kdavis51[at]uco.edu via paypal with a TAG OF YOUR USERNAME (only) ATTACHED. If you don't tag your payment, I can't tell who's good to go!
5. That's it! Ready, set, go! :D

More Icon/Portrait slots open tomorrow!
Posted 9 years agoFigured it'd be a nice thing to toss up here, so here we go!
TL;DR: I managed to plow through the last of my non-priority icon slots today (3 to be exact!) and will be opening up again for more side-queue stuff once I wake up tomorrow (aka Wednesday)! This means that icon slots will be open, as well as something similar I've debated, possibly a kind of 'two hour square format portrait for color experimentation that's icon-able but slightly more detailed/time-y' thing, too. These are technically all non-priority pieces vs. my usual queue, HOWEVER, as I've now proven, I still work through them pretty fast, and tend to chew through one every day at the least for warmup on big pieces/between other clients present/etc. I like having a short, easy-on-the-brain list of one shots to grab so I don't get fatigued between bigger works, and it makes for a more active gallery AND more slots for y'all!
So, keep an eye out if you're interested! 2 hour portrait slots would be 50 USD (as is my hourly), and icons are 40 flat, given that they average to about 1.5. Thank you to all my wonderful previous clients for their service and patronage, and have a happy Wednesday!

No stream today!
Posted 9 years agoSorry all, just wanted to leave a little heads up-- I'm feeling really gross from some charming physical stuff today and am gonna opt to keep a lot profile today. Tomorrow, however, everything should (hopefully) be back to normal! Cheers! Hope you're all having a good Wednesday! :D

SUPER AWESOME ARTIST in need of some commissions!
Posted 9 years agoSO I don't usually do this, but my buddy
Mandragora2012 is in a tight spot monetarily and could use some commissions to keep comfortable right now! She's a really fantastic artist with truly A+ underdrawing skills, is great with all kinds of critters/beasties, and super friendly to work with. Go check her out!

(SPECIAL NON-PRIOROTY BATCH) ICON SLOTS ARE OPEN :D
Posted 9 years agoThanks to the positive response from my last journal ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7480256/ ) I decided to just go ahead and open up for some supplementary icon slots! As previously mentioned, these will be NON-PRIORITY icon slots I keep on the side to use as grab-bag "filler" pieces during my daily grind; they may or may not be finished with the commissioner present, but I'll still do my best to be timely! We'll also be deviating from my usual slot protocol because these are just icons, SO. PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW FOR A VALID SLOT CLAIM.
1. Comment in this journal with something bold and akin to "I would like an icon slot!" so I know that, well, you want an icon slot!
2. Wait for me to confirm (via comment) that you have a slot!
3. In the SAME COMMENT CHAIN, please post the following:
USERNAME: (You!)
RELEVANT REFERENCE MATERIAL: (Remember that this is basically a face and/or neck up, so that's the important stuff to link).
PREFERRED MOOD OR EXPRESSION: (Exactly what it says on the tin.)
4. Once you've posted a form, please send 40 USD to Kdavis51[at]uco.edu via paypal with a TAG OF YOUR USERNAME (only) ATTACHED. If you don't tag your payment, I can't tell who's good to go!
5. That's it! Ready, set, go! :D

Thoughts on Grab Bag/Warmup Icons?
Posted 9 years agoOkay. SO. I've been entertaining a Thought and wanted to see how you guys felt about it-- as well as polling for interest! Thank you in advance for reading, by the way!
The TL;DR of it is this: I've been contemplating opening up for a batch of icons to be completed in a sort of "whenever I feel like grabbing one" style. Icons are great to me for a lot of reasons; they're quick (one sitting), require minimal information upkeep/retrieval from a client (all you generally need is "what expression?" and "what does their face look like?" to grab-and-go), and help keep my gallery active while I'm juggling a lot of bigger pieces that may take a while before they can be posted. What I might do is open for a chunk of, say, ten or so, and then keep them on the side to be completed whenever I feel like I need a quickie or a warmup.
They wouldn't necessarily have much of a priority to finish (even with client presence) unless I had no other non-icon clients around, though I would still make sure to handle them in a reasonably timely manner, as with all my other work. Chances are in lieu of having information shipped to me via note I'd also just have icon recipients post in a journal or something, since, as mentioned, the info required for them is usually very short, and therefore could all be jammed into a comment easily.
Keep in mind, again, that these would be a vague non-priority idle time thing for me, and might or might not be completed with you-- the client-- present. Despite all that, is there some interest from you guys? Anyone who thinks they would be a taker, assuming I went through with it?
