Posted 16 years agoI've recently been having a strange occourance when I'd take my walks out into the real world.
It seems every single time I walk to the store I end up getting the music from Gyromite stuck in my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGVTuXlsKgM
It changes too.
If I'm walking, the intro plays... And if I'm running, it plays the part after o.O
I'm clueless as to why this happens. I'm just kinda walking or running along and all the sudden I realize whats playing in my head.
My brain works heavily on association though, so there's bound to be some logic to this.
Only think I can think is that "Well, this is Springfield, and this is the city where I used to visit my grandma and play her NES every summer".
Oddness.
Another possibility is that I could be linking the rhythm of my steps to the beat of the music. I tend to do that often.

Musicals?
Posted 17 years agoI think I just realized something about myself I never new before. I think I like musicals o.o
This is really strange. Because I've never known myself to really go for that kind of thing... Or maybe... Maybe I always kind of did but didn't really acknowledged it X_X.
Could that be it? I dunno. But my roomie just recently downloaded the entire soundtrack of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog... And its been stuck in my head so terribly I've actually had -TWO- of the songs stuck in my head -AT THE SAME TIME- D:... I don't even know how he accomplished that, lol. But seriously, two different songs... kinda of intertwined into some kind of a mashup. Now that's bizarre.
But, getting into this music, I started to think of other musicals that I really kinda dig. Rent, Avenue Q... Er, actually that's all I can think of. But heh, I never really thought of myself as the type. Eh, I guess that all depends though. I seem to go for the rather quirky ones... And actually I've never seen any of them o.O. I just know a few of the songs.

They featured this song in Shrek2, but my personal opinion is they butchered it. Completely utterly butchered it. It doesn't hold even half the power it used to in their watered down cover. Eh, I guess the cover they did is a decent song as songs go. But when the original has this much energy to it and you take that out. I dunno, they stripped the life out of it.

Paint Tool SAI
Posted 17 years agoWell, my free trial of Paint Tool SAI is about to expire in a little over a week, and I'd have to say I'm well pleased with how it has handled.
I've been trying it here and there, thanks to a recommendation from
matrixcodex that it was a pretty decent painting app. And I'd really have to agree. I'd have to say when it comes to digital artwork, it handles better than Photoshop in some ways when it comes to line-work and the way some of the tools handle.
I will say that my artwork is looking a lot more like manga stuff after using the tools here. Mm, I'm guessing that is a reflection of my art style coming out more than the tools used, but I did find it kind of peculiar, and not really a negative thing at all. Just... Interesting.
Two things that the app seem to excel at are sharp line work and smooth blending of colors. Some of the brushes have a dual function of blending or adding more color depending on how hard you press with the tablet.
But anyways, just thought I'd bring this app up in case anyone was interested. Worth a look if anyone is interested in a low cost, light weight painting app with a well tuned set of tools.

They say there's two dollars off at the door for zombies... so like... my roomie and his brother are currently putting on their makeup. heh. I dont' think I'ma do the zombie thing though :).

I have so much going on...
Posted 17 years agoAnd I wish I had something to say.
And in the midst of it I'm finding things I forgot I even lost. I don't know where all this is going. And I say that with a slight sense of dread. Its one of the hardest things in the world, to learn to let go. I feel positive about the future, more now than I have in years. I feel more awake than I have in a long time.

It makes no sense and yet its so amazing. What is this? I'm unsure what it is I'm discovering.

Its one of the hardest things in the world, to learn to let go. I feel positive about the future, more now than I have in years. I feel more awake than I have in a long time.

New Glasses
Posted 17 years agoYay, I get new glasses today.
Bifocals actually. So now I should be able to read text and things again at a decent speed. Its really been bugging me. My roomie is able to read text on a screen as soon as it comes up which really baffled me. It usually takes me a moment before I can comprehend what I'm seeing.
I'm thinking it could be because I have to strain to see things so maybe this'll be what I need to keep up again.
Probably post some pics of thems later on.

Bald?
Posted 17 years agoIt started late last year. I'd be up late on my computer and about to head off to bed when I would discover a few hair strands on the keyboard. Kind of a strange thing. I've never been one to shed, it kind of puzzled me.
Well, it continued on like that most every night. Always a few hair strands sitting on the keyboard, and it began to worry me. I figure we all have things we have for a short time here on the planet earth, everything kind of degrades with age except for your character. Though when I think about it, I'm really not that old. 27 next month.
I loose a lot more hair these days. It all seems to still be there okay, though I do notice a little bit of receding. I hope I go the horseshoe route rather than the bald spot on the back of the head. At least that way I can still do the pony tail thing and look like an art teacher or a mac user :P (I'll have to learn to appreciate cappuccino)... Or dye it white and cosplay as Dr. Wily XD. Horseshoe bald is much cooler than balding on the back of the head. Patric Stewart is a horseshoe *nods*. It's a very sophisticated bald.

Posted 18 years agoI feel strange, and uneasily vulnerable.
I am faced with the fact that I haven't truly been living, letting my life pass me by. Concepts from the matrix have been coming up a lot lately in my life. The idea of a deeper reality than I have ever imagined. And I've been thinking about the idea of Alice chasing the white rabbit down the rabbit hole... What if there is no rabbit hole? What if the truth is already out in the open? What if the only hole I find myself in, is the place I've been hiding in just to keep my sanity in light of things I just didn't know how to cope with. Maybe my moment of realization isn't so much in chasing the white rabbit into a inconspicuous little hole as much as coming out of the hole myself, and seeing everything all over again, all the things I wasn't able to see in plain sight. If I remember right, Wonderland was a dream in the first place. All this time I've been needing to wake up.
This world is too big. Possibilities are so immense. I wonder how I'll find my place in all of this. I'm faced with the very real fact that I am not unbreakable. I used to think I was. None of this was real to me. As long as I had everything boxed up and manageable, I was okay. But all along the one inside the box was me. The box isn't safe. Life will still pass by, some of the most amazing opportunities will still be missed. Lives are still effected. There is no safe zone, there is no sidelines in life. Even when you take a time out, you are still on the playing field. Life doesn't pause for a moment.
So all this time I've been hiding, not knowing who I am or what it is I really want to do in life... There's a lot to risk in discovering those things... but from my experience, the greatest risk of all is not to risk, because what is worse? To go out there and live life, maybe get a few bruises, risk life and limb in the process, or to sit on the shorelines and watch as every opportunity slip through your fingers? Some of those opportunities... Are too precious to let slip away in the hands of fate... Because fate only works for those who make an effort to achieve it.
Life is for those who will live it.

There's so much that I haven't said, and yet so much I haven't heard. So much I missed. Lost in a void.
My life is finally waking, and breathing I find pain. The old faded memories still linger. I never forgot, only shoved them aside.
Pain for the hurts that I've suffered, and surprisingly even more pain for leaving them unmended. Love doesn't forget, and a heart, as delicate as it is, is not one to be shoved aside quietly.
My sanctuary was a dream, my comfort that soon I will wake up and find my nightmare is now over. Yet my reality has passed me by. Lost chances, broken promises. I wake to see I was indeed dreaming, but only to wake up to find the nightmare my reality... Yet now, so different than before.
Days are still coming and my time isn't over. There's still a million and one chances to be taken and things left to be done. Love is not over, and my heart is not gone. Not a nightmare so much as a potential dream. Valleys and mountains left to be scaled. A life waiting to find it's voice.

New Appartment
Posted 18 years agoSorry been offline for a week guys. GIR ( my roomie ) and I moved into a new apartment, so no more cold (spider infested) garage for us! ^_^. Yes, we have indoor heating! (apparently... heater decided to die, but all in all, the additional insulation of an actual apartment is keeping things fairly warm in comparison.
So like, we had to be without internet for a week because we had to wait for the cable guy to hook us up. Tried logging onto FA to post a journal explaining the absence, but its been down every time I tried :/.
So anyways, I'll be online again. *waves* Catch ya round on SL sometime ^_^

Uhhhm, I don't really talk openly very often, but I guess it might be kind of odd me posting pictures of Kyohi still. And there's good news to that. Looks like we are back together again. Got kind of a limbo thing going, but its looking good... uhm... though I find it kind of strange, now that I think of it, to post all this personal stuff out in the open.
