Where I've been. Sorry for the hiatus!

So Its been a while, and I am sure that many of you noticed that I had left for quite some time. I closed my FA, and closed many of my other social media places such as Facebook and twitter for a while.
In short, I left for a while because I was very much not well.
After BLFC, a lot of things happened that were very hard in my life. Relationships, losing family members, losing very close friends to suicide, dealing with many very difficult things that were basically eating my alive little by little. I ended up falling into a deep depression that led to serious anxiety and numerous attempts of my own life that I am not proud of. I fell into isolation of sorts and really only kept a few people close and up to date of what I was dealing with. It got the point where I has having serious anxiety attacks weekly and I was hospitalized to a psychiatric ward due to my mind basically not being clear anymore.
Ive been on a road to recovery from all of this for some time now. Been seeing therapist, getting psychiatric help, and of course talking with a close friend who helped me immensely to slowly try to get out of this state I was in.
I am not well yet. I still deal with delusions and anxiety attacks that sometimes come from nowhere, and I often feel very uneasy around groups of people still (thoughts that people are out to get me and cant be trusted, etc), but they are much less and ive been much better.
Slowly I let myself start going to some local fur meets, and I opened my twitter again. And now I open back up my FA and am trying to break back in to the fandom that I love so much.
I have greatly missed a lot of this, but I also have realized what is important in life and made many changes.
Im praying for a better future and hopefully things will be ok with me soon.
I am sorry I havent made any new photos, pics, videos, anything for months, but soon, more will be coming I promise!
I am glad to be here, and I will be ok.

So Its been a while, and I am sure that many of you noticed that I had left for quite some time. I closed my FA, and closed many of my other social media places such as Facebook and twitter for a while.
In short, I left for a while because I was very much not well.
After BLFC, a lot of things happened that were very hard in my life. Relationships, losing family members, losing very close friends to suicide, dealing with many very difficult things that were basically eating my alive little by little. I ended up falling into a deep depression that led to serious anxiety and numerous attempts of my own life that I am not proud of. I fell into isolation of sorts and really only kept a few people close and up to date of what I was dealing with. It got the point where I has having serious anxiety attacks weekly and I was hospitalized to a psychiatric ward due to my mind basically not being clear anymore.
Ive been on a road to recovery from all of this for some time now. Been seeing therapist, getting psychiatric help, and of course talking with a close friend who helped me immensely to slowly try to get out of this state I was in.
I am not well yet. I still deal with delusions and anxiety attacks that sometimes come from nowhere, and I often feel very uneasy around groups of people still (thoughts that people are out to get me and cant be trusted, etc), but they are much less and ive been much better.
Slowly I let myself start going to some local fur meets, and I opened my twitter again. And now I open back up my FA and am trying to break back in to the fandom that I love so much.
I have greatly missed a lot of this, but I also have realized what is important in life and made many changes.
Im praying for a better future and hopefully things will be ok with me soon.
I am sorry I havent made any new photos, pics, videos, anything for months, but soon, more will be coming I promise!

Posted 10 years agoA lot has happened recently. and I realized that I am stronger now than I was, and while I am still deeply hurt, I dont have to let one thing destroy the whole fandom and make me want to leave it entirely. I am a different person because of what happened, and some things may never be the same, but I have received much love and support from the fandom and to step away was dumb of me I think now.

I'm not sure how long, but I just can't stand being here as it brings reminders of what I just experienced and it hurts too much.

Help me get more fursuit selfies!

So some may have seen from the last journal, and some may have caught on, but the basic idea is, I'm producing a furry video parody to the chainsmokers "#SELFIE" music video. And to make it work, I put out a call for fursuit selfie photos!
I ended up getting quite a lot! Thanks to those who sent them in, they are all awesome!
The thing is though, I still need more!
For those that want to be a part of this, get those fursuit selfies to me! reply in comments or pm them, either way. All selfies used (and I will literally use them ALL) will be credited in the finished video.
Don't own a fursuit? You can still help out by spreading the word around! The more people who find out about this the better! Just link people to this journal.

Luis Jr Mercado a.k.a Frost, the guy many of you at furcons may know as the guy who drove the little RC tank with Pinkie Pie on top. He would drive the tank around the con and let fursuiters interact and mess around with it. Back when I was in the Brony fandom, I still remember my first meetup and I was this young kid who was super shy walking into what was the very first meeting of the Bronies Of Northern California group. Frost saw me and immediately reached out to me and was the first brony who I ever spoke with. In a big way, he was actually my first local brony friend.
Finding out this news this morning hasn't even hit me fully yet and the reality that I won't see him at the furcons anymore driving that tank around for the entertainment of myself and other suiters is terrible. Ill miss seeing him around wearing those crazy glasses with the flip out magnifiers that I always thought were super cool.
I just can't believe this could happen so fast, just boom like that overnight.

BLFC, what a trip
Posted 11 years agoThis years BLFC was an absolutely amazing convention for me and from my years in the fandom and the numerous cons I have attended, I can honestly say that this con has been my favorite thus far.
My convention started a bit early with an overnight stay with Chatah and Floww. I am forever grateful and amazed that Chatah drove about 2 hours AWAY from Reno, to come pick me up in San Fran, back to his place, then off to Reno the following morning. I'll make that up to you somehow Chatah, lulz, I feel two bagel's and a 20 was very minimal > . <
The Grand Sierra Resort is a MASSIVE hotel. And as I walked through the doors and started to realize just how big this place was, I had the thought of "this is almost TOO much!" Not only was the place massive, but the hotel rooms were very spacious and quite nice.
I got to room with some good friends who I had roomed with at FC and I swear, I am sooo appreciative of people who actually know how to be good roommates. I had a bad experience in the past of rooming with people who basically trashed the room often, locked me out at random times of the day for sexual activities without letting others know, and noise into late hours. Staying with Allegro, Freya, MrFancy and Mike Folf was totally perfect and I rested well every night and was stress free through the days. Plus the fact that all of them are totally awesome people, it made the con that much better for me ^ ^.
I was a bit concerned about what I would be eating this con. Having my wisdom teeth pulled (all 4 omgggg T.T) the weeks before, I was barely chewing any solid food just the day before leaving. Luckily, things managed to heal up enough that I could eat the bagels I had brought, as well as cliff bars although carefully. Being vegetarian on top of teeth issues on top of being in a place where you dont know what sort of food options are around is a bit scary, but luckily, I made it through! Even when some friends wanted to go to "steak and shake", I managed to find a veggie option that was not too bad.
This con was a year of first for me, and probably one of the biggest things for me was entering the fursuit dance competition. I had high anxiety going into it, as I have never danced for anyone ever before, In the past, I would just do it in the privacy of my living room, or when I was feeling "bold", I would record myself and share it with some people. But NEVER had I ever actually danced in front of groups of people, nonetheless a COMPETITION with judges and audio gear and lights and ahhhh!
I seriously seriously want to thank those that really encouraged me to do it. Diggyroo, who pushed me and encouraged me many weeks before when I was considering not even doing it, he kept pushing me forward even though I was super scared when we spoke at frolic before the con. Puppywolf, who also did the same and remains a huge dance inspiration for me. Toxxik, who gave me advice on my dancing before the con and really helped me find a way to make my style stand out a bit more, and Shadow Cheetah, who constantly encouraged me through the whoooollleeee thing even though I was reduced to a wobbly pile of nerves minutes before I went out onto the floor. XD.
I don't talk about it much, but being able to do the dance competition for me meant more than just getting over nerves and dancing in front of others. It marks a huge moment for my life, as its something I never thought I would be able to do.

I was about 300 lbs, very inactive, could hardly walk up a flight of stairs without getting tired, and the idea of dancing was something I would never dream of. When I first found the fandom, I would watch video's of fursuit dancers and tell myself "oh I wish I could do that someday". But of course, already getting tired just walking one block, I thought there was no way I could do anything in a fursuit. I remember one day making a choice, and I told myself that I wanted to do what I saw, and I wanted to be able to fursuit, dance, be active just like those other furs I saw, and I wasn't going to stop until I could. Thus set off on a journey of improving my way of life. This was back in 2011, and as time went on, lots of things changed. The things I did, the way I lived, heck, the species I related to that ultimately became "me" changed too, and just a bit over 2 years since the journey started, I found myself doing exactly what I saw those other fur's did years ago, and when I walked off that stage, the realization hit me, "I did it". Theres nothing like the feeling you can feel from something like that, and I was truly in a daze for a bit after the competition, and no, not just because I probably needed more water, XD.
BLFC was just a really well run con with lots of things to do and a great set up that allowed finding and hanging out with friends really easy, Getting to meet new people was super awesome and I made lots of new friends!
I loved being able to hang out with my fellow poi spinners! Chatah, Shadow, Simboku (the honorary cheetah), Wyld, and some new spinners I met throughout the con. I love that I can share more than just one interest with these guys. Truly amazingly talented people who all have a love for the flow arts, and that's something very special to me.
I had a moment of OMG when I got to meet my "creators" so to speak. Dago and Bongo of Mischief Makers were in attendance and getting to meet them was super super super epic, they are super chill and great people and I'm so happy to have been able to meet them after they did so much work on Jei. That said, it was also great to see the other fluffs of mischief I got to meet at FC! Toast, Fenrir, DB, and all the others, as well as meeting the new creations! Super super awesome :D
Every day of the con was filled with fun and much community, and I am forever grateful to all that made the con possible and epic. My entire trip was very fun and enjoyable (with the exception of the greyhound bus ride back with the driver who never drove in reno before, terrible snow and ice on the pass, angry passengers, and a Tibetan Prince who was threatening to release "his country" onto the greyhound company, but that's another story), and I truly can't wait to come back next year. It's a con I would never ever want to miss in the future.

Maybe dance comp, although I never heard back from the dance comp lead so....maybe not apparently T.T

So heres the fun thing. I just had my wisdom teeth taken out a week ago, and while the pain wont be there, the recovery will still be going on, meaning....yeah, my diets gonna be super restricted....T.T So if anyone invites me to go to some restaurant, dont take it personallly if I say I can't, my diet will be very limited to soft foods. Its already hard enough finding options for a vegetarian, so now having to find vegetarian soft foods.....yipe. wish me luck. > . <
