A Sona?
Posted 4 months agoHonestly been dabbling with the idea and of finally making a proper sona character for myself. Likely a Pokèmon and mainly to self-indulge a bit.
"But isn't that just Graham?"
Uhhhhhh, not exactly. While there's some of myself in Graham personality and traits wise for sure, with me even admittedly being guilty of using him as a stand in occasionally (certain status updates and the birthday posts). At the end of the day he's just a character to me. The main guy and one who I'm extremely partial to drawing of course, but being honest. I can get a little uneasy when people actually view me as him.
If you have then don't stress or worry at all. Definitely can be somewhat anxious but regardless, this is something I absolutely should've clarified and spoke up about significantly sooner. Maybe expect something hopefully soon, just gotta brainstorm a bit...

Heya all, hope February has been treating’ ya well. Wanted to originally make this post after the bakery teasers but these thoughts have been lingering for a while so I’d figure I’d make this journal now incase they end up leaving my head.
As of writing this there’s only one left to tease for the bakery squad who’s design I’m still finalising and I’d like to thank you all for being patient with me. TFs will also be resuming in March, so don't worry about that. Sorta built up a lot of ideas :0
In this journal I’d just like to go over a few things, update you all on some random stuff and talk about where my head is at. Don’t feel obligated to read as I can sorta ramble and spitball >_<
Deleted Works?
Done a little cleaning up of my gallery so if you've gone back to view some old TFs or other artworks of mine, you may notice they're missing. If so. then I’d like to report that they’ve been sent to the trash can, like a failed sourdough starter… at least on DeviantArt. On Furaffinity I’ve kept most of these up and just moved them into scraps as I don’t want them to necessarily go away forever, but I don’t want them in the spotlight anymore. Here’s a rundown on what’s gone.
Roxie's Suggestion Box.
Am fond of the TFs I did for this on their own without context, but ultimately… Roxie as a concept was just genuinely stupid and in retrospect it sorta makes me uncomfortable as it’s sorta muddied how I’ve seen some people view the actual version of her. ROXY IS NOT EVIL AND GRAHAM DOES NOT DISLIKE HER. I cannot stress that enough, she’s just a silly Espe who likes to tease. She cares a lot about him and besides, it’s not like Graham doesn’t get a little mischievous too with his cookies >
Yeah Roxie ain’t ever comin’ back. I do hold some interest in opening some sort of request thing again someday, but how I go about it really depends.
Old Bios.
Kinda self explanatory. They’re outdated descriptions of the characters. In other words, they’ve aged like Miltank milk. Have gone on record saying I've wanted to update the character bios and in fact, there’s gonna be a batch (hopefully) arriving soon with the bakery squad at least and likely the others will be sure to follow. Many of the current cast are also quite different in the way I’d like to handle them now, so leaving this outdated information about them up feels icky as they’re not at all reflective of their current selves.
Domino Amphibia TF.
Just don’t like the implications of this one nowadays and it’s not the type of TF I wanna do or associate with anymore. Like what, Graham is just doomed to live life as Anne Boonchuy’s cat Domino from hit 2019-2022 Disney Channel series Amphibia for the rest of his days, with the looming possibility that said feline replaced him in Turquoise Hills? Eugghhh nah. If I consider doing anymore TFs with OCs turning into canon characters, then I feel I’d handle them more in line with the Spinni TF, with no implied dark ending, reality shift n’all that. MC depends really.
Do want to do an Amphibia TF again someday though. Turning a character into a smol, usually bucket bound polliwog similar to Polly (in the first two seasons) could be fun~
Team Cupcake Themed Art.
No longer a thing or even canon anymore. My characters have different affiliations now.
Story?
Said this in a random status long ago but I’ve wanted to do an ongoing narrative for some time. To be truthful my ideas jump around a lot but the only thing I know for sure is that it won’t be too linked to my current characters and all that as I wanna focus on a new group a little disconnected from the usual TF stuff.
Might even be on a separate account, but does depend really. I've had ideas with a group of mystery kiddos, Crayon and Phova, plus my liking towards stuff like BFDI and other viewer voting based competition stuff has weirdly gotten me interested in thinking “what if I do something like that but with Pokemon characters” but we'll see.
Upcoming Shenanigans
So yeaahhh TFs, I do those huh...
This year I do wanna be a little more experimental as it’s good for practice and I’ve seen many ideas that really do push my buttons, like plushies, objects and pool toys especially. Just very cute, cosy, fun vibe topics. Obviously Pokemon is my specialty and will most probably remain that way, but I’d like to do TFs for other franchises too. Feel another Sonic themed TF is way overdue, but there’s other franchises I love that I’m surprised I’ve done nothing with like Rayman. I’ll try to think of some mischief~
I’ve also dabbled in anthro stuff here and there with close mutuals, though any drawings regarding that will likely be FA exclusives, mainly as I wanna keep my DA and Bluesky free from slightly suggestive and more niche works.
Really appreciated the love on all the small comics and sequences last year too, but so I don’t drought ya too much I do wanna attempt more simpler single frame mid-tf and post-tf ideas in between again. Can be tricky though as sometimes an idea breaches the comfort zone, gets all snuggly and ends up evolving into a sequence or comic unintentionally. Fun fact, it’s exactly what happened with the Graham and Skittles baby mon TF, now being one of the main darn AUs. Crazy huh.
Missing in Action
Truth be told, it’s impossible to deny that I’ve heavily neglected some characters as of recent, some of which haven’t been used in any art whatsoever for over 6 months (insert funny Venom meme here)
It’s basically been the Graham, Atlas, Skittles and Roxy show for a bit now and that’s something I’d like to change… Although... As I alluded to earlier, many of these characters have their own changes that I’d like to implement next they show up again and to not make them a jumpscare, I’ll give a brief rundown on the basics here.
Teddy
Pretty much spot on personality and design wise, though what I need to figure out are those darn rules. Just a big can of Wurmples and I definitely need to put in place limits for her heh…
Riley
Design already long updated and I still like the role of him being the older, stern voice of reason to Roxy/Graham. Just mainly needs some slight amendments to his lore and relation with Dyno.
Dyno
Really only needs some slight tweaks to his current design and maybe a slightly clumsier personality, as I feel it’d be fitting for causing unintended TF shenanigans with dangerous artefacts. Still love the whole oddity researcher and collector angle for him, though I don’t want him to be so stereotypically nerdy.
Maya
Actually hmmm, they’re pretty bang on. Maybe give them a slightly different leafy hairstyle and dress, but other than that I love this chaotic olive gremlin. Desperately need to use them more as some of ny moots have also pointed out.
Cara
Their Eevee form is just about sorted and I’m happy with their new dynamic with Skittles, but that Sylveon mode will see some adjustments. I don’t want them to be evil and have nefarious goals, they’re just a Sylveon who secretly makes the grumps happy, even if it involves some memory wiping… Already teased a design back in that Generations post which is meant to be a Sylveon/Deerling fusion which I feel fits with their sometimes skittish behavior~
The whole Black Doom Starmie thing is a joke. Don’t take that seriously haha.
Cole/Samson
Eeyikes… Lumping these two together as they share the same problem. Out of everyone, I’m most unhappy with them right now. Two guys on a whim that just didn’t work out and weirdly it has nothing to do with their characterization or personalities. That is totally fine, Cole especially filling an opposite role to Riley, being one to instigate Roxy and have her cause mayhem in the town. That I still dig.
My issue with the two is just purely design wise. I just feel like I flat out picked the wrong species and I wish I could time travel to tell past me to give these two more thoughts. I still would like Cole to be somewhat Rinrin/Berunrun inspired, perhaps just less feline like to make the cast a little more diverse. As for Samson? Yeah no. I adore Piplup but he really needs a species change. Not fond of the choice at all nowadays. Leaning towards a fiery Meinfoo but we’ll see for now
Maybe so all this is less uh, jarring I could give in universe explanations for these changes, but just stay tuned I guess. Some of this is silly spitballing again ahahaha…

Know this isn’t a terribly long yap session but if you’ve reached this far then thank you. Just wanted to get all this out of my system really so you can see where I’m at exactly right now. Honestly I wish I could share a lot more art, but with my job and some personal responsibilities it's sorta hard to gain the drive to on some days, rather spending time playing the switch/deck, watching tv or even napping. Do wanna figure out more effective drawing methods to hopefully speed things up a bit in the future though and I dream of having a proper desk setup to draw more professionally, but with the home space available to me. I sorta just gotta make do for now haha.

A Passing...
Posted a year agoA loving, kind old relative very close to me and had been there pretty much my whole life had been found in her home by my parents. She passed...
Was informed roughly an hour ago and so many emotions are rushing through me. I'm quite shaken, but I will say to you all that she was a key reason why I picked up drawing as a hobby in my late teens after I said I had an interest in doing so to her.
Frankly it was a frustrating start. I'd always compare myself to other artists and be sick of my lack of any quick improvement. However while she didn't see much of my actual works, she was always so incredibly encouraging and admittedly partly kept me going. Honestly, I feel you all wouldn't have met Graham, Roxy and the rest of the gang if it weren't for her...
Its really hard to process that she's now gone, but I'll try to keep moving forward and will absolutely be keeping in mind to draw what makes me happy most. Its something she usually advised I do 🕊

Posted a year agoFeel like clarifying this again since people still ask about it. While I appreciate everyones enthusiasm and love, it'll probably still be a bit before this bakery will be interested in opening to commisions.
I draw for funsies right now, plus I feel I need to improve upon my general art efficency and other aspects about my drawing skills first before I feel comfortable being open. There's also the whole hassle of figuring out a payment method, pricing and places to communicate, plus I can be picky on the things I'll draw even when money is involved. Maybe I can figure something simpler out, but at this time... commissions just aren't on the table for now.
If you just want some general way to support me regardless I may open up a Ko-Fi or something maybe, but we'll see~

Hasn't happened too often, but earlier today I got a note that asked me if I was interested in drawing frankly extremely gross topics involving my characters that actually made me sick to my stomach and incredibly upset, so thought I'd make it 100% crystal clear now.
Fully aware I do lean into slightly suggestive things (notably with any of the TFs that involve TG), but never to absolutely ridiculous extremes, plus I try to keep it on the silly side of things anyways when I do.
No clue how someone sees my accounts with the typically, light-hearted, Pokèmon OC misadventures and then thinks "this guy will totally draw this weird, gross content if I ask them." Like geez, how did you even end up in this neighbourhood?

First of all, I left this info voided from my DA status because of my audience on that platform but I got a new account here! Though... I'm leaving it at that and NOT sharing anything else about it. Haven't started posting to it yet either, but it's contents will be pretty seperate from everything here and if you've seen my past journals, it's probably like a two piece puzzle to know exactly what I'm referring too. You'll probably be able to easily find it with the right keywords when I start posting. That is all I'll say, don't expect it to be super active either...
Now for actual stuff regarding this account specifically~
Didn't bring it up here but I was pretty sick for the past two weeks, but now I'm thankfully feeling a lot better and hopefully ready to get back into the swing of things with some TFs and other silly stuff~
My main goal is to try to improve my efficiency as I've been slowing down as of late, so possibly expect lot more simpler art in-between the meatier stuff (notably the comics) as I wanna try to get at least 1-2 artworks out a week. Sequences and single shots tend to be a lot easier to work and practice with, so don't be surprised if I post more of that format going forward either.
I know y'all like the comics and it's my personal favorite format personally, but I've started to realise doing them just really drains me, as a decent amount of my time is also annoyingly spent planning them out. Good news is I've adjusted to my new tablet. The bad news is... everything else. Personal life is admittedly part of it, but I've unintentionally swamped myself with too many ideas and projects that it results in procrastination and shifting focuses, meaning things are at vastly different stages of completion. This includes a Sonic TF, Bios, Roxie's SB, potential new Swapping Places stuff, the larger TF remake comic, a potential story idea, the super duper secret TF comic that I can't say a single thing about and other stuff. Doesn't help that I've sorta developed a stupid perfectionist mindset (DON'T DO THIS) at points which has been doing me more harm than good and me deleting progress I've made on some projects. Though I'm gonna make a big effort to escape from that starting now as you can never really improve otherwise. You don't need every single thing you post to be a masterpiece, just something you gotta keep in mind as an artist. Not every drawing has to one up the last in terms of scale, quality, ambition, ect.
Gonna try to escape this slump I basically put myself into, try damn hard to get my priorities in order and maybe put a schedule in place to get the groove I once had back as I really can't continue like this... Expect something hopefully soon, though I got a few backlog images left so expect them as well~
Also regarding last journal, I figured it may be best to make a new account for uh... that stuff. So I'll update y'all whenever I get around to that if at all interested.
Good news is I've adjusted to my new tablet. The bad news is... everything else. Personal life is admittedly part of it, but I've unintentionally swamped myself with too many ideas and projects that it results in procrastination and shifting focuses, meaning things are at vastly different stages of completion. Posted a year agoHeya. So that one pic of Graham in his "poofy gear" pushed the buttons of more people than I anticipated huh... Thanks so much for all the love and new watchers I got from it alone (＾▽＾)
Though... I wanna say some stuff about it.
While I'm open to doing more clean diaper art in the future, have some ideas in mind and even have a few personal friends in the community. I don't ever want to strictly be known as a "diaper artist" (on this account at least) as it's just a smaller interest and it doesn't help that I'm just not entirely fond of all the themes in the community either in all honestly. As a result, it's not something I intend on doing often as I said, and whenever I do more it'll stick to this site only and be non-canon if it involves any of my characters. May even make a separate account that includes other niche stuff too, but it does honestly depend at this time really.
Do expect more at some point, even if not super soon~
Though, I will say and this is IMPORTANT. Please try to not reference it in the comments of any of my other works, no matter how tempting. You won't get on my bad side, but most of my audience at this time follow for the Pokèmon and TF shenanigans so please respect that.

Posted a year agoQuickie but as you've seen I've been uploading all the stuff I haven't put out on this site yet and I just finished the first batch of uploads.
Sorry for falling out of uploading here once again and after the batches are done, I'll be sure to make a better effort to post on my platforms simultaneously again. Would upload it all at once, but I'm running low on time and I don't really wanna spam FA's system, so expect more on another date~

Small Update (July 21st, 2023)

Yes I'm still drawing and I'm feeling pretty good. Just haven't posted anything as I've been kinda busy with work, personal shenanigans, I had to buy some new pen nibs and I'm still getting properly adjusted to Clip Studio.
Actual TFs will be returning hopefully soon enough, and I'll probably work on some of the FA suggestions and other simple TF ideas I have to warm up. Maybe might consider doing some art trades too, or potentially finally opening comms for the first time but we'll see.
Though before that, I have something else to update y'all on that you'll see hopefully see the results of very soon. Let's just say Team Cupcake are finally getting a much needed refresh~

Feel free to suggest any wacky combinations you want and I'll draw any that might interest me. Try to avoid suggesting OCs and overly complex Pokèmon though!

Small Update

Hope December has started off strong for you guys! Just thought I'd give a small update on were I've actually been as I used to try to post my TFs weekly and have not posted since my spooky Halloween TF.
Truth be told I've just been sorta busy thanks personal events and in my spare time experimenting with drawing on my laptop as for those who don't know. All my TFs up to this point have been done on a Samsung Phone on Medibang, with no help from any pen whatsoever.
It's frankly stating to get sorta annoying doing it this way, takes too much time and it's the main reason why I'm not interested in commissions just yet. I appreciate the interest some of y'all have shown since I started, but I don't really wanna be charging for art that's done in an extremely awkward and sorta time consuming way.
After my next TF sequence that's in the works (roughly half the linework is done for it as I'm writing this), I'm probably gonna go full steam ahead on learning and then drawing my stuff on my laptop or possibly a tablet from now on, with an actual drawing pen. After that I'd probably be open to commissions or maybe even some requests to start out. Who knows?
That's all I really have to say currently. See you all soon!
