went to ren faire saturday and had a blast overall, however, a couple of pissers took a little bit away from the day.

was a contestant in the ren faires fantasy costume contest that day, and oh DEER(bad pun i know, sorry) did the attendees love my deer ranger costume. unfortunately, the judges were hooking up their "friends of faire" folks and very piss poor costumes got into the semi-finals while mine and at least 2-3 that were equal to mine got passed over........on top of that, for those that were at the last LAFF bowling/dinner meet, the feline fursuiter with the horns, REALLY nice suit, the only one that got a near standing ovation from the crowd, didn't make top 3 let alone win it, a couple of cheesy costumes placed this year..... must be nice to effectively pay the judges off by being "friends of faire", which i personally heard at least half a dozen people that work the faire say the same thing after they saw the results of the contest. GROWL!

but since me and her had the chance to talk, i think i know who i want to commission my fullsuit once i get the money(she's definitely top 2 at least), HOWEVER, cannot remember her name for the life of me nor can i find the buisness card she gave me, GROWL

if anyone happens to know her name and where i can find her FA, it would be greatly appreciated.

sorry about the lack fo updates, been busy with a lot of stuff lately

i did make it back to the house safe and sound, but with a ticket to speak of (learning to hate michigan state patrol).

been busy trying to get everything ready for retirement......unfortunately my GI bill won't be ready for the fall semester this year, so goin to be waiting a year for college and find a job to supplement income until its ready.

got a few new places to look at this weekend, hopefully one of them suits the family

went to furry bowling last night and had a blast.....although i did learn a couple things that are.......disturbing. no, i won't give details, so don't bother to ask.

goin to the ren faire on saturday and entering the fantasy costume contest with my deer hunter costume. figuring i won't win, but hopin to do well.

and the one things i will always hate as a parent. doign the right thing and still feeling like crap about it

Got back from Origins monday, it was a fun time overall, but i think i twinked the left knee a good one, its still stiff and sore as all hell, although it IS getting better by the day resting it as much as i can.

I didn't get to fursuit PER SAY at origins, i did get to show off the deer ranger/hunter costume while i was there(pictures in my photos if you want to see it), and i find it kinda funny that i basically got 3 different reactions from the several HUNDRED people that were there. #1...oh, that is so cool, can i take your picture(about 1/3 of them), #2......OMG, what is WRONG with you (pretty much the rest), and #3.....deer in headlights(which i thought I was supposed to be looking like on occasion :D ) and damn near running away from the freak(only a couple) i feel bad for the one that reacted like that, little kid MAYBE 6-7 years old that saw we are literally ran to his parents crying, hiding behind their legs. the parents loved the costume, but that poor kid........::shrugs:: i guess i should have, but didn't see that one coming. will have to be more careful i guess now not to scar some poor kid with my partials / larp costuming :(

Had a pretty serious thing going on with my youngest daughter(17) that turned up while we were at origins with a much older (to her, younger than me) guy. she's been showing obsessive behavior is a bad way and when we talked to her about it she did say that she wanted to get therapy when it was offered to her, so she has an appt now right after the 4th of july weekend to get her counseling started. It doesn't help that he wasn't acting as mature as he was for that situation so for now extremely limiting contact with him until her therapy/counseling has gotten started well

I know she has had some reservations about her dad being a furry....i'm dad, so any major changes with me i know will affect her........well, major outward changes in that way anyways, and i am REALLY hoping that isn't part of the big picture problem. I finally for the first time in my life feel like i can be free to show a lot of my inner self including being a furry to those that i love and who love me back. I know she had a bit of a messed up childhood with me being in the navy, always moving and being gone and all that, and i know she's not happy she had that kind of childhood, but i know she DOES understand WHY i lived that kind of a life, and why dad had to leave and not be there when she wanted me home and all that, but to a little kid, it can, and good chance will, leave some scars, and dad can only fix so much :(. i am just hoping whatever comes out of her counseling/therapy will help her and help me help her deal with all the things me and her mom screwed up on in her life.

she has such a bright future, i really hope i didn't screw her up too much.......

it was a long shot anyways, but was hopin to make it there for half a day at least to meet some new furfriends and take a BUNCH of photos.

its all good tho. I will be at a gaming convention i plan to suit at at LEAST one day.

bowling saturday was a BLAST, got to meet one of my good furfriends online i have been talking to since day 1 in the fandom.

its been a pretty cool weekend so far. had a few of my LARP friends over for dinner last night, had a great time.

today so far has been good, but i slept WAY too long for my nap. just hope it doesn't screw me sleep sched off TOO much.

this was a very tiring weekend, but still good. saturday took the car to the dealership because the brakes were getting weak, figured there was a leak somewhere in the brake line, and there was, left side front caliper. UGH, those and new pads are running me 800-ish.

sunday went to a furry BBQ and got to see a lot of people i usually don't get a chance to ::waves to link, charlee, haku, and skrat:: and furry bowling afterwards. i stayed up WAY too late, but i had so much fun. Thanks Killian for hosting that, i hope this will be an annual thing now.

i think due to fatigue and the bowling my arthritis is kicking in bigtime this morning. left hip(the usual GOOD hip) is flaring like a bitch this morning. UGH. dealable, but damn its annoying. i hate getting older

my LARPing actually went well despite my idiocrity of saturday(i realized that i messed some stuff up tactically that woulda let me win that fight), it did open up a LOT of roleplay for me in the future, dpeending on how and where i take it.

Feeling a lot better after bad news on monday. thankfully all goes well for his girlfriend of many many years about keeping their place, stuff, and all that.

Mate went to the doc's today for her ultrasound. the baby is 15.5 weeks in and found out we are having......a....girl......... ::shrugs:: i was really hoping for a boy, but both mama and baby are doing great, and that's the important thing.

It's still kinda weird to be the father of 2 teenagers and now having another one so far apart. I just hope this greymuzzle deprecit ole body can handle another one.

I will be going to the furry BBQ over in mchenry sunday, bringing the partial to wear for at least a little while, how long depends on the weather. also will be bringing my cheesy vegetables and a couple bags of ice. i hope to see you all there

Well, After a wonderful sunday and monday morning/afternoon i was going to talk about when i got home. now this is for a different purpose...

for anyone that might have known him, a friend of mine, who online went by the name Bowtie from the were.net / therianthropy.org chat rooms / forums i found out had a heart-attack and died this morning.

I will always remember him as being the "tough love" of the place, but as blunt as he could be, he truly did care for all of his online friends. He will be sorely missed

so yeah, today was goin to be a big day for my wolven character, claiming alphaship on the lands he lives on.

I fought my DAMNDEST today, brought on the A-game, and lost by a single hit.

Now i have to wait a whole %$#@%$#% YEAR to challenge again.

this screws up an entire year of potential roleplay for a character that never gets personal plot

so damn depressed right now.......if i hadn't already paid and i didn't have one thing to finish, i doubt i would even go tomorrow.

we shall see how tomorrow goes, maybe i can lead my group into a victory at the adventurer games and get something accomplished worthwhile at least :Shrugs:

since i wasn't planning on pc'ing at all now until after the baby is born, i suppose its for the better really, but still.......been looking forward to this for months and i fuckin BLEW IT

OH, and on top of it, the very next monster i fight gives me a nutshot with a 2 hander that put me out of combat for quite a while. fuckin OW

Looking to start classes at NIU in the near future start working on my CPA.

Went to my first furry con at MFF '10, had an absolute blast while i was there, and hope to make more as money allows me too

jsut finished up my partial last week, wore it at ACEN '11 this year, and had a BLAST wearing it. definitely will be suiting more often.

otherwise, not much to this wolf, simple family wolf with simple pleasures. I hope to make a lot of friends in the furry community as I go along.
