I'm hoping that this year will be just as lovely, or even lovelier than last year's convention. ♥ I can't wait to meet friends again, old and new.

So, I'm hanging out with  miiburd right now, and have been doing so since the 1st.

It's been great, and we have done too much to summarise. Some highlights were meeting  sondring  amrapus, Sarah Lynx, Kal and many other friends.

I'm alive and well, and will continue to be offline for some time.

The NFC hotel had a grocery store nearby, and one day,  silkyfur and I took a trip there, and I asked him about spices to try.

We didn't find any spices (ran out of time), but what he did show me, was an alternative to meat! I don't know what it's called -- it's not tofu, but some other stuff, that I picked up and bought.

Now, I had forgotten all about it, until today... I'm in a financially tight spot, so I'm basically going through the pantry and making whatever I can with spices and what I have available. There's no meat left, and I had vegetables, and then ... My gaze fell upon that thing. So I tried it!

It's a great alternative to meat, I found :) I had so much fun with the spices, tasting-to and whatnot, and I combined it with couscous and some vegetables to the most satisfying and filling meal I've had in ages!

I'm unsure if soy products are the way to go, but they're certainly good when prepped in the right way (just not soy as milk replacement all on its own, I can't stomach it yet). :)

Been living as a vegetarian for the past week because of the financial difficulties, and I'm having so much fun with it. XD

Maybe ti's some sort of healthier eating, too? I hope so. I have no clue. Now, I just wish I could find things like that in Norway too... I have no idea where I'd go.

Holy guacamole, that was amazing.

I’ve just returned from  swandog and  sayh after staying with them for a few days after the con, and I have to say, I feel the acute loss of their company, and the loss of the company of people around me.

I have never been at a con before, but you know... this one won’t be the last. :> I went into this with an open mind and didn’t know what to expect, what to think, /anything/ -- and, and it turned out to be the most friendly, rewarding and fun experience.

I commissioned  theblackvixen for a wonderful drawing of my raven, chilled with the adorable  silkyfur, met  binarypaws and  nitra, met their friend Twospotz who is excellent at making necklaces and draws adorably, heard Chama perform, watched EZWolf take pictures of Selene and so forth and so on. The list goes on! I can’t even pick out a highlight – it was all marvellous. ^v^

Fursona Meme

What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
I am drawn to the sky, and feel a very strong affinity for birds. As I mentioned in my description, I have an alter personality, and together, (or, as a whole, as she's me!), we form a red-tailed hawk / common raven pair. They both came into existence when I was little because it felt «right», as intellect, adaptability and traits resonated with me. I merged them into a creature called the hawkven, but chose to remain a red-tailed hawk for the ability to blend in, yet be admired.

Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
Both. They are me, yet also what I aspire to become.

Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
Combined, they do. Split them up, and you get half of me, either the whimsical and confused, somewhat directionless red-tail, or the playfully silly, somewhat volatile raven. They co-exist. :)

Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Yes.

Does your fursona look like you at all?
They're both fluffy, which reflects on my physique, as well as my hair. The raven resembles me, in hair appearance and eye colour.

Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes. We are female, as they are inseparable from me, and I am most certainly sure that my gender is such.

Do you have more then one main fursona?
Yes. Hawkie is my face outward, and Lavanya is my secondary, how I am around my close friends.

Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
They have a place in my fictional universe, but they themselves came to be and exist independently of that world. I can't accurately explain the «why» or «how» things came to be with them, they just are.

Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
None of them are mated.

If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
We are open to the idea of finding a long-term mate. All in due time.

Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
Hawkie has hel silver-coloured underwings (but she was designed to be average and to blend in, so she had no defining features up until the recent change in design), and Lavanya... Her gryphonic form sees the Norwegian Forest Cat, which I haven't observed in a gryphon before. Otherwise, not much.

Do you have much art of your main fursona/s?
I do, yes.

Would you ever consider parting with your main fursona, if so why?
I've tried. And failed, time and time again. You can't change who you are, can't run away from yourself, nor can you lie to yourself about the particulars that make you.. you.

If you suit, do you have a suit of your main fursona?
I hope to get a proper suit for Hawkie or Lavanya someday. Unsure who would be good for this yet. Probably will stick to a partial.

Have you ever roleplayed with your main fursona, or do you prefer not to?
I do on occasion, around my trusted friends. Otherwise, not that much — you're essenitally interracting with a representation of myself, so... I sometimes feel uncomfortable with it.

Do you consider your main fursona to be a part of you in any way?
Yes! Inseparably so. :>

New Years is a few days off yet, though I find it appropriate to write my summary now, rather than the day of. As the New Year soon dawns, I am happy to announce that my life continues on the upwards curve, the curve that began the last year of upper secondary, and that has continued to bring me to new heights ever since.


In short, my 2013 is described such:


* Learning
* Retrospection
* Change

The year began with my return to my residence up north. Up until June, life saw  staeld, our mutual friends, his family and I have some adventures. There were get-togethers, graduation celebrations, walks, dinners, and ice cream, socialising and burstling life in my room. I also parttook in an organisation, wherein I met others, some of whom have become very important to me, and I continue to work with this organisation in the year to come. All the while, I was working on applying to studies Elsewhere in the country, as well as securing student housing.

However, my mental health began to decline. It did so for most of the summer and autumn. More on this later.

Come summertime, it was time for me to leave. A friend drove me to my new home city, and from then on, began a period of travelling, wherein no-one (and hardly myself!) knew where I was at any given time. I attended two summer camps (one which had a brief pseudo-romance in it), visited Helsinki and Dublin, and finally toured up north to visit a few friends, as well as  staeld and his family.

Once returning from there, it was time to move my stuff to Uni-College!City, something which was done in conjunction wtih mum. We assembled furniture together, shopped and worked 12-hour days for a little while to get me settled. Once that was done, gradually, my furniture was assembled, and I began to host get-togethers with some local friends, had the honour of meeting Makenshi (who makes brilliant food!), and later in the autumn, was fortunate enough to meet  ariin,  swandog and  sayh when making a trip to the capital for leisure or courses (such as Doctor Who, and some other things).

The latter three months of the year also saw the return of  theotherarrow, who some may remember from my past. Apologies were made, chats were had, and I feel a sense of closure to a chapter of my life that has gone on for a very long time.

So, this year sure has been eventful! There is a lot that makes me smile, but there have also been times of turmoil since I began to feel more emotionally secure, and the vigilance I had learnt over the years lost some of its hold. I was/am endlessly tired – years of watching your back takes a lot out of you, noticable only when you relax. The most important knowledge I have now is, «help yourself before assisting others» and «you are loved». I have been so very fortunate to have ALL my friends and family, and quality assistance from health workers and institutions, which means that my mental health will improve from now on! I promise you, it will. I've come far, and I intend to go further.

Other skills of note that I picked up:
* Tying knots (taught to me as a birthday present, important to me because I didn't know how to before!)
* Braille
* The prerequisites for applying for a guide dog
* Making more varied food
* Managing the finances for an organisation

I am also going to become blind at some point, so I am learning all sorts of related skills, and am drawing a lot; I've become more mindful of the present and strive to enjoy what I have.

I look forward to next year! A silly little hope is to find more friends, and perhaps, even, a partner? *Chuckle* Time will tell! I can't predict tomorrow, only make the best out of today. :>
