So I return. Kinda. Four thousand submissions to clear. Doubt I'll do it, depression is sucky.

Onto something newer. Seeing as I have this Shiny Blu-Ray Kung Fu Panda 2. And a crush on Lord Shen himself, I'm gonna be using some stills to get some practice drawing. They're probably gonna be shoddy, and be submitted as phone camera photos or something because if I get bogged down in "good looking submission" I'm going to miss the "art" thing I'm aiming for.

So, with that in mind here's how this crap's gonna go.

I draw until I start to see errors in my stuff.

I ink, clean up a tad.

Maybe add a splash of colour, or some shading.

I throw it to the interwebs, so I can be devoured in cries of shoddy work, ect! (I don't rate myself as a good artist, can you tell? <<;; )

Nonetheless, I'm gonna try and do this, and so as not to end up wacking out my perfectionist side, I'm starting at the low goal of one a week. Hopefully get some more added too.

SO!

Under a combination of exam resit stress, money worries and depression, I return after internet hiatus to find 557 submissions!

First thought: ARTZ, YAY.

Three seconds later: OG HOD, this is gonna take me ages.

Next: Ooh, I could have a cup of tea...


RESULT: Submissions are increasing, burd is all fluffed up over exams and shiz, life goes on! Though if I'm *lucky* I'll get to see me orca soon~

So I got inspired a tad to do some bad sketches of a nice robot finch and possibly a story involving same.

I also got someone who wants me to colour something they've drawn, which means I get to practice my digital art for once without worrying about the linework!

Aside from that, same old. Shouldn't be wanting to draw as exams close in, but hey, what do you know?

Need clean and simple references for anatomy (especially birds) as usual, and I'd really love anyone who knows how to overcome the shyness about drawing in public and, the most crippling thing for me, the perfectionism and such that means I hate anything I draw and see nothing but flaws with it... I love drawing, but so often, I find it easier to do something else, rather than try and draw something from memory that always looks... Wrong.

So yeah. Today I learnt that I don't internet when depressed.


Onto more happy matters, yay uni! Yay warm bed, yay friends!

Monday was my birthday. Monday I was admitted to hospital, and I am now out. It's been... A bad week, frankly. And it feels like I missed my birthday...

I am now 19. Nineteen years I've been in this world, and it feels like I haven't left any impact at all. Heh. Ah well. I'm going to make the most I can with this life.

I'm currently working on two pieces in some kinda disarray (a request and a redo of my old Phoenix to match the colours I gave Chobaryu), as the next week I have to get three projects done and handed in, as well as revise for a maths test.

Hawkie is pissed that his sleep schedule had to choose this last wed-thurs-fri to screw me over.

On the other hand, I will have a fair amount of time to work on stuff in the next month, so expect (hopefully) two to three pieces of art.

Yeah, so if you've come here wondering why I've faved something from months or even years ago, this is the reason. I have been trawling through the backlogs, and your work caught my eye. I haven't commented because I think that'd be more disruptive than just faving.

Well, I'm done. Irritatingly, there is no way to get back to page 273 for Avians/other. That resets you to page one. *rages, ect...* So instead, I've gone to 50 on each section under Avians (Aves, other, crows, phoenixes, you get the idea.), and will now be watching for the newest ones in the entire Avians category.

I'm also a bit disappointed that there aren't too many nicely done and coloured birds out there, but I can't really be much of a critic myself until I've posted something.


On a separate note, I'm digitally colouring a picture of mine from DA, so with any luck there'll be a nice pic up here soon. Watch this space.

For those of you who know me, skip the rest of this, it'll be reiteration of stuff you most likely know already. For those that don't I intend to post my own boids up here, but as I'm a perfectionist, and I kinda suck at drawing, this process may take a while. My current two birdies are my own personal creations, even if A: They're stereotypical and B: The names are as unimaginative as any other you will see. (For example, the pic I hope to have up soon is one of my two birds called Phoenix. She's a... Yeah. I'm not going to insult your intelligence here. And she is a pyrokinetic. Apart from those, she's actually moderately original.)

Aside from that, I hope I will start to become more well known around here, and I value feedback and friendship. So, if you see something wrong with a picture of mine, I'd love to hear from you. If you can provide a quick sketch to show how it could look, eeven better. Either way, if it's a digital piece, I will endeavour to correct it, and ask you to look again.
