Fresh from faulting Square Enix in the previous journal and after watching the best E3 show in a very long time, I feel myself excited for video gaming again. I'm already sold on the PS4. SE really dropped the ball this current gen, but they have a chance to redeem themselves in the next one. Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 are looking fantasically promising, and while I'm still being wary, I can't help but looking forward to seeing more. Don't fuck ths up, SE.

In other news, Bayonetta 2, SSBWiiU and Monolith Soft X RPG are really tempting me in getting a WiiU. Dammit.

As for the Xbone, all I get to say is: lol good luck with that, MS.

Horray video games!

With the dawn of a new generation of gaming upon us, it got me thinking of some of the game companies and what they did this current gen. One company in mind is Square Enix. Outside of publishing some western games from their Eidos side, what games did they make this current gen? Specifically console games. I remembered thier old glory and figured I'd make a list of the games they created in each console generation, starting with the PS1. Keep in mind a few things in this list:

-I'll only cover the Playstation systems cuz they're mostly the systems I owned and they're the games I know of, so no handhelds and such.
-These are games made by Squqre Enix Japanese side, so none of their western stuff.
-These are games that got english releases.
-Remakes, releases and ports won't count.
-I'm naming these out of the top of my head, so pardon me if I missed a few games.

As you can see, a wild decrease in quality with each generation. They were unstoppable during the PS1 era, with lots of original games and amazing sequels. Then in they PS2 days, they had some hits and misses. But damn this current gen... such a sad state.

Makes me wonder what they will do with the next one. We'll still waiting for FFv13 and KH3, SE. Still waiting. And waiting. Waiting to be let down, I bet.

While I'm not a big fan of Guilty Gear and prefer BlazBlue, seeing this trailer got me excited cuz they're finally making a new game and not ANOTHER updated Guilty Gear X, so I'm actually looking forward to this. Plus, the visuals are looking pretty good~

I saw a single pic in my submissions inbox and saw the thumbnail of it. First thought that crossed to my mind was "Huh. Another pic with a wolfy character that looks kinda like me." But then I saw the title and my eyes widended big time and I screamed a loud "WHAT DA FUCK!?" Even Sassy on the other side was stunned, and my folks came in to check on me and wonder what the hell happened. X33

This was such a pleasant surprised. And I'm such a big fan of this artist. So for him to do this out of nowhere... This sort of thing never happened to me before, but it made me so happy. ♥

Game is out on May 10th. They say there's more than the stuff they announced there, so I'm gonna wait and see what they have in store before I bitch.

So they FINALLY got both game builds and are sending them for certification. They're aiming for a May release, if all goes well and there's no more hiccups. Nine months after the US version. For a fighting game.

I guess we now have a tenative release date, at least.

The endless saga that is Persona 4 Arena for Europe continues. Basically they are still waiting for the Xbox360 game build from the developers(Atlus/ASW). You know what that means? It's been over 6 months now since the game US/JP release. Six months, and nothing. No progress at all. The game won't have multiple languages. It's gonna be the identical same game US people got. But they still haven't developed the EU build of the game yet. Six months and counting, just to get an already finished game.

I really feel bad for the EU publishers, having to deal with Atlus. They are treating them like dirt and they can't do anything about it, except take the heat from the raging and angry EU fans who's been waiting forever for this game to come out, and still no sign of it coming out soon anywhere. With them not even having the game build yet and still having to send them to Sony and MS for certification, before the game even begins going into production, we are still looking at some more months ahead before it finally gets a release here.

Easily, the worst delay in gaming history. So unwaranted and undeeded of a delay.

For those of you who defended Atlus before for region locking the game and told us it's no big deal and to just wait a couple of months for our version: Fuck you, I told you so.

"PERSONA 4 ARENA UPDATE!
As promised here's an update on our current progress with Persona 4 Arena.

We have now taken delivery of the PS3 EU version of Persona 4 Arena, and we are expecting the Xbox version soon.

Once we have both, the next step will be to submit P4A to Sony and Microsoft. At this stage, we'll be able to estimate a likely release window for you guys - and once it's been approved by both platform holders, we'll be able to give you a realistic street date.

We will, of course, let you know what stage we are in this process so you can have a clearer idea of when the release date is likely to be.

Seeing how they just got the EU build for the PS3 and still waiting for the Xbox360 version, and they still need to send them to Sony/MS for certification, which will probably take between two to 4 weeks, we're looking at a late March release here, at the earliest, if not April. Just like how I expected. 8 months after the US/JPN release.

This is why region locking is always bad.

I've been getting too many Dr. Art pics in a row lately. I've been enjoying them, but I think I need some change of pace! But I've been running dry with ideas lately.

At the same time, I made a new year resolution to cut down on commissions.

Just finished 2nd Super Robot Wars OG last night. Enjoyed the hell out of it. I hope they'll make another PS3 SRW like it.
