Seriously I am terrible at advertising things, but this art is hard to describe. its so damn NICE, the differences in body shapes this person can do is mindblowing.

I'm gonna get one. You can be a cool kid like me and get one too. The artist is SO NICE, they just drew me an icon one because because they DAMN FELT LIKE IT. It's heartbreaking to hear that their situation isn't the best right now.

Buried the head of my chicken Frieda, with the feathers from the other 3. That's all that was left of them. I like to have dead pets just... around, for a day or two after death if I can. It helps me cope, being able to see them for awhile.
Decided to try some Reeses Pieces to flush down the sorrow. Will these succeed where the cups fail?

yes, yes they did. They are like M&M's but in yellow, brown and orange, and they aren't chocolate. They are just the dense, gross not-peanut-butter peanut butter filling from the cups.
But it WORKS in M&M form! They are nice. A bit sweet, a bit salty, you can stop whenever you like, you're not forced to have to endure a whole cups worth of it. Its good. I would consider buying more. I like them a bit more than normal M&M's because M&M's are boring, but not as much as nut M&M's. Actual peanuts taste better than this dense stuff.

Bought a packet of 2 cups and a packet of "pieces" (which I always assumed was just part of the brand name, but apparently its a product and the brand is just "Reeses")

Haven't had the pieces because I'm still sick from the cup - that aint peanut butter. thats dense. thats like some gross corn syrup stuff.
Its EDIBLE but my god its like peanut brittle but with all the good parts of peanut brittle taken out, like the fact its not smooth enough to have too much of it in your mouth at once. And the actual nuts.
This stuffs like ok-tasting chocolate covering a dense biscuit of sesame and corn syrup filling thats strongly flavored of peanut butter, but may or may not be made of peanuts.
I can imagine people liking them, they aren't the worst things ever. Are they popular? Do the "Pieces" just completely overshadow them? What a mystery.

The next exciting installment will be the bag of pieces, which I assume to be like M&M's. Will they please me? Will they not please me? Does anyone care? Find out sometime if you want to.

They took them. They took all of them.
I had 4 lovely fucking chickens and foxes took ALL of them. Did they bring the whole family or something???

My two young pompom silkies are gone. Bambam was big and black and a bit overweight. Pebbles was yellow and small and normal and a quivering wreck half the time. They were naughty and adventurous... Bambam liked getting into new places and pebbles liked following...
Frieda was a brown frizzle and was totally blind... she had a foot infection and a mouth disease we were fighting hard, but perhaps death was a good relief for her - but why like this... They left her head behind...

Fantail was my fucking friend. Fantail was 20 years old, she has been with me forever. She was old and had dementia and effects lasting on her since a battle with pneumonia (which chickens just dont usually get better from, but she did). She was a fucking survivor, she was UNDEAD. She was beautiful and old and now she IS FUCKING GONE.
I was going to get her skeleton articulated when she died so she could stay with me but now its GONE so I FUCKING CAN'T HAVE HER. SHES JUST GONE. My baby wont get a gentle death after a long life, shes just been snapped in fucking half somewhere.

FUCKING FOX BASTARDS TOOK ALL OF THEM. I can't believe they are gone.
Do I even have photos of the silkies? I don't think so...
If I could turn back time I would stake out all night and protect them. I would kick the foxes in the gob and tell them to fuck off.

But I can't. And I wouldn't. Foxes need to eat. I'm not mad at the foxes, they are doing their best. I'd rather them eat another introduced species like my chickens than a native animal thats struggling.
I'm mad that my friends are gone from me forever. All of them. Overnight.

Crows are here to pick up the feathers left behind. I've taken what I want to remember my girls by, they need the rest for their nests. Maybe they can find a morsel left behind to eat too.

Pets being priced differently disturbs me.
Of course its an understandable thing to do, you cant have people over breeding easy-to-breed animals just for the money, or people selling rare breeds for cheap and having them die/breed out.

But isn't it just a BIT fucking weird?

You can pay several hundreds of bucks for a puppy or a snake or a parrot, and thats good. It discourages people who want them as objects from getting them and not looking after them, it pays the people who breed them and care for them so well.

But then you have pets you can just pick up for cheap.
$15 chickens, $10 budgies, $5 rats and mice.
$3 fucking goldfish.
$3 FOR A FUCKING FISH.

Their lives have been given the worth of a coffee, or an expensive sandwich. Horrible things happen to them.
They get given as little gifts for their kids on Easter only to be ditched or "let go" a week later.
They get sold in tiny bags, or have their feather-fur dyed or spray painted stupid toxic colours at fairs. They tend to die pretty soon afterwards.
People think they are a cute gimmick to try out and buy them, not realizing that despite their cheap price (and the absolute shit houses they are sold with at most pet stores) they are quite difficult to care for properly.
Rats need their bedding changed every week, chickens need space to move and poop everywhere and are loud, fish need oxygen and special temperatures and all sorts of shite.
Budgies need just as much love and care and attention as a larger parrot - or alternatively, a huge aviary with many others to live with.

So they don't get cared for properly.
Budgies get stuffed alone in a tiny cage with a couple of mirrors (eugh) and a bell. They can live for 15 YEARS like this. Once they get used to this life it becomes hard for them to trust humans anymore, they are basically in solitary confinement. Its hard to break them out of it.
Oh, and then people "let them go into the wild" when they get sick of them to "free" them. They may be native here but the chances of them finding or being accepted into a flock are just so remote. They don't know how to find food, their only sense of safety came from their cage, they are prey animals. They will either freeze, starve or be eaten/beaten to death.
Fish just get flushed down toilets, or thrown into rivers. They don't get their tank cleaned. Who cares. A $3 fish, a $200 tank. Fish are dumb, right?
Chickens... fucking hell, I've seen someone stomping on theirs to death just to get rid of them. We don't even try to see them as anything other than a potential nugget.

Its not something I have any ideas on how to fix, other than having a base line on how much a life should cost - but would still cause issues.
$3 is a sad life to live. I don't see how being dumb or having a bad memory should mean you get tortured and thrown away.

My friend had battled cancer for about a year and a half. She was 19 years old. Just as it was looking like it was clearing up she was given the news she had a week left.
She was in constant pain. Morphine wasn't even having an effect. Her spine was ripped apart by tumors and she lost movement and feeling in her legs.
She died on the 14th of May, Mothers Day, at her home holding her mum's hand with her family.

Her funeral was yesterday. There was a MASSIVE turnout - more people than could fit into the building. It was amazing.
In memory of a time when her and her twin sister made a sparkler bomb and blew up the road as kids, everyone lit a sparkler that night in her memory.
Rest in peace, V. You were a trailblazer; you made highschool more fun than it should have been.

Now that the funeral is out of the way I'll be going back to art college after taking two weeks off. My teachers say that I am welcome to another week off, two for mourning and one for illness, but I really don't want to be three weeks behind on five subjects.
Id rather get on with things and heal.

Hopefully I'll be doing more things and posting them here - drawing for fun and all that. Id like to open commissions soon in one form or another and draw some birds!

In other news, Stefán Karl Stefánsson (Robbie Rotten from Lazy Town) has had his cancer pop up again and is going back for treatments. Doctors say it is easily removable, but cancer is a fickle beast that can pop up and ruin everything at any moment. I know that first hand.
if you have money to spare for the family there is a Gofundme or something for them. Look it up. At the very least, make a few memes.

I've wanted to use this site more, especially now that I am happier with my art now than ever before, but that just wont happen yet.

I still plan to be here alot in future, and I really want to start posting my work online. I think its good for an artists health to put their stuff out there, even if they regret it later.
However both of my Colleges have just started again, which is good but alot of work. We need to move house so my sister can move back in, which will be FANTASTIC if we get a place we are looking at in the hills but otherwise I am not looking forward to it.

Worst of all off a friend of mine from high school has been struggling with cancer for over a year now, and has recently been given about a week to live. I hope to see her before that time comes but, with the amount of pain she is going through, it isn't looking terribly likely.
be careful dying your hair kids, don't constantly bleach and redye. Let it grow naturally sometimes, let it breathe. It might save you a painful death.

I don't know many people here yet, but if I dont respond to any notes within a few days I'm sorry. I will try my best through a want to put my foot into this wonderful community, but that may have to wait for a little while longer.

Ah, such high hopes for 2015. Then nothing happened.
