The butt
General | Posted 8 years agoIt occurs to me that I have yet to depict Cheddar engaging in iconic extraterrestrial pastimes such as administering anal-probes. Like, cram a stethoscope-up-somebody's-butt kind of probes, not sex objects, obviously. This should be rectified. Since he is the sort of person that would chase down a specific target (not random) and vengefully perform an impromptu, recreational colonoscopy upon them. But the aesthetics are less mysterious and classic, since Cheddar clearly understands English (although his handwriting is another story), and he doesn't look like a gangly balloon-headed homunculus. Cheddar-probing probably more resembles thematically sadist porn than anything else. Which I think, is more realistic since there just isn't a lot one can learn about something just by shoving junk up its butthole, its clearly just for sport anyway.
Today is Marshall McLuhan's birthday
General | Posted 8 years agoAmong my favorite academics to refer to, Marshall McLuhan. I onced portrayed him as a Speed Racer-esque character in a video I made for a final in a college class. He was portrayed alongside Martin Heidegger (portrayed as basically Henry Killinger from the Venture Bros.), as consulting President Obama on what to do about a semi-hostile alien (A vacuum cleaner with cups for eyes and bottles of ketchup for arms) since the alien was apparently trying to communicate (although stupidly). Everyone wears print-outs of well-known actors and actresses' faces taped to their face, and yes, a car does blow up. It was apparent that I really liked Terry Gilliam.
I received an A+
Thank you, Marshall McLuhan.

I guess I should draw vore again
General | Posted 8 years agoSomeday.
If anything, because it's so hard to come by the sort of vore that I like.
I'm very minimalist about it. Not interested in the sexual ornamentation or sensual thematic junk.
I couldn't care less what it's doing to the predator's belly.
I need to be like the Mies Van Der Rohe of digestion-focussed vore: Less is more, more or less.

MOO!
So, I'm watching Dekaranger in the interim (already seen the movies, but not the show)
Love the doge, but I have some issues with the design of their base (and I don't even mean the whole dog head thing. I get it, it's thematic, that's fine).
I'm not sure if having the entire side open up for vehicle circulation is the best approach here. Seems like a lot of unnecessary mass movement, and a structural nightmare. I feel like the motor pool's ceiling height is excessive, and that probably hinders the program of floors above, resulting in weirdly long vertical transportation and egress strategies that could best be described as (totally) tubular (as demonstrated). Japan gets a metric fuckton of rain, so the roof drains are going to be hard to hide when they get to the level of the motor pool, and will probably require pressurization to be expelled into the city storm sewer system (not uncommon in some places, not sure about Japan though). But overall, I've seen weirder and worse buildings function at least as well.
Obviously I'm kidding. The building was clearly intended to be made into a playset, so normal arch rules don't apply... Still, I have seen weirder, and less fun, less feasible buildings.

General | Posted 8 years agoI got to Kyuranger episode 16 and WTF.
WHY CHAMP?!
(I'm at 19 now)
In other news, the front, driver-side tire on my car leaks profusely, but I fixed a toilet with hot-glue, and it's working.
TALK ABOUT LUCKYYYYYYY!

Sentai Update
General | Posted 8 years agoI'm at episode 15.
I'm savoring it slowly. If I go too fast, it will bleed over into my life and then I'll have to explain what "O-kyu!" means to my boss.

Doing an MFF 2017
General | Posted 8 years agoToQger is the weirdest thing I've seen in a while
General | Posted 8 years agoLike, excuse me while I take the train into battle because I guess that's how this world works lol. I'm sure they'll just let us park A TRAIN here. Yep. Also they need to have a pass even though it's their own BASE WHICH IS A TRAIN. I'm not complaining, I actually think it's pretty funny.
I've been holding back on Comic updates
General | Posted 8 years agoAlthough for good reason: I have actually been going back through and cleaning/smoothing/fixing things, heeding comments, and swapping graphic assets. When I started doing this back in February, I didn't bother with things like exposition or structure, which has created a problem now that I've gone back and started to patch things since you can't post things to the past on FA... So I guess I'll just post added content out of chronological order like a total asscopter.
Unrelated: the zords in the new Power Rangers turned out to be less hot than I hoped. No faces though really. The claws were kinda sexy, and I didn't mind the extra legs, but what ever happened to the art of fucking fierce af robot animal faces?

Fax Machine the Dutch Angel Dragon
General | Posted 8 years agoRan out of attention span this weekend, so I didn't draw that, or make a comic.
(and by "Dutch Angel Dragon" I do mean in the loosest sense. I'm probably just going to draw some exhaust pipes on a dragon made of fax machines or something if I do anything at all. I guarantee you 100% it will not be cute. Not by general standards. Obviously)

General | Posted 8 years agoI started watching Uchu Sentai blah blah thingyranger and yeah actually I love it The bulky costumes, the rapidfire J-humor, the fact that Red is basically That One Guy from Gurren Lagaan, the wolf guy's suit is the only fuzzy one with wolf feet it's so unabashedly furry, and Champ is sooooooo hot.
It makes me want to see that Power Rangers movie less because it will almost certainly have none of this weird charm.

I have a question regarding Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger
General | Posted 8 years agoWhich I just found out this existed yesterday and apparently it's chock-full of robot animals. My question is: what service do you all use to watch it?
(Edit)
OK, apparently the dragon and the dog aren't (meant to be) robots, but the definitely-robot bull is still pretty hot.

Next Arc
General | Posted 8 years agoUghhh... I actually have to come up with a systematic way to draw Tellies. BUT at least I now have a 3D BIM model of almost the entire interior of the ABSOLON with which to make backgrounds, so that shit's about to get weirder.
Toilets... Toilets everywhere!
(But not up-side-down. It won't let me do that for some reason)

Speculative Typology
General | Posted 8 years agoUsually the term "speculative typology" accompanies arch student projects which feature 1. Spherical, Jetsonsesque "drone ports" in China or 2. Skyscrapers with trees crammed into every horizontal surface they can extrude from the sides plus the top. The thing they have in common is a blatent disregard for economics of structure and very ironically: the reasons why people don't already plant 20 foot-tall trees on their 30th story porches (trees have a tendency to grow... Duh). Anyway, I spent a while yesterday making a 3D model of the interior of the ABSOLON from Space Meat, so I don't have to use photos of the Seattle Public Library for backgrounds quite so heavily any more. Even though the ABSOLON is very much based on it and was always intended to have the typology of a voluminous public building. Now comes the challenge of furnishing it with the weird, thrift store rejected, side-of-the-road junk that it's supposed to be festooned with. Which is harder than it sounds, because most people who use Autodesk/Revit don't make and upload models of that sort of junk. And modelling a creaky-old wood-cabinet projection TV from way long long ago takes way longer than modelling an entire building interior (it's hard to explain why, but it does).
But, weirdly enough, it seems that when it comes to incorporating the typology of a space ship. There is a slight problem. In that: there really is very little that specifically defines the architectural typology for a space ship. At least beyond those features and elements necessary to create a specific scene or move a plot. A brilliant example being the only memorable scene in Galaxy Quest where Tim Allen or somebody has to cross a needlessly dangerous gauntlet of arbitrary engine machinery which has no other function other than to present a crushing hazard to anyone passing through. That's basically what we have for spaceship typology beyond at least the Harder Sci-Fi spinning donuts and solar sail stuff typical of Don Davis paintings, which still leave a lot to be assumed, architecturally. From the beginning, I've been avoiding much of the (plot and format-driven) architecture in Star Trek and Star Wars simply because the prior is full of anonymous hallways and once you've seen one corridor, you've seen them all, plus it doesn't make sense for accommodating much outside of humanoid-shaped bipeds, etc... And the latter because it does pretty much the same thing for interiors, just with a lot more intensity.

Water Closets. HaHa, Feces go there.
General | Posted 8 years agoYes, I'm thinking about how other species would devise their equivalents to the solemn and not-at-all hilarious core of the built environment: the toilet. Surely this bit of speculation has been addressed by furries somewhere...
HUMAN BODIES ARE SEXY GOODBYE IM LEAVING
General | Posted 8 years agoSuddenly, and inexplicably, I woke up this morning and decided the solution to asexuality and attraction to largely inaccessible or nonexistent objects is to force myself to do a Sex to a woman. Clearly, if I do this with enough dedication and resolve, I will become Real Human Man and acquire taste for Mammary Structures and Gyrating Hips. There will be many babies and I will never sleep or have to concern myself with anything other than those items lowest upon Maslow's hierarchy of needs ever again. Also Calculus isnt real - it is just another goat-fisting cult club and I have started doing a smoke of Manly Tobacco every hour. Everyone, please bask in my nascent heterosexuality. Gay conversion therapy works.
Yes, all I can think about are boobs, babes and the manufacture of babies. Oh yes. This is normal. Everything is normal here.
This is a completely and totally normal April 1st.

Fack Week
General | Posted 8 years agoSpaceMeat will return to its usual, lighter, nonsequitorial, meta-inside-jokey, zoid-sexualizing ways shortly. I just had to empty the "plot" trap to keep it from contaminating too much and growing moldy, trope-garbage.
I had a lot of stuff at work, so my ability to sit down and crank-out something intentionally direction-less was somewhat reduced.
Once this week is through, and the 3 projects are out the door, then I won't have to stay an extra 2 hours a day for a little while. Which is great, because I'm getting tired of having dreams about the god damn pipe-chases and ceilings of Brighton Heritage Academy and "B1-C1 Block" which is an S-shaped apartment complex where the pipes constantly roam around inexplicably even when you don't do anything to them, I swear if I see another 4" sanitary line mambo its dumb way right into the middle of a living room again, I'm might wake up and punch my water heater.

Denver Comic Con
General | Posted 8 years agoI put in for vacation time. Which means that I will be going to Denver Comic Con in June, and of course: that includes suiting. Since setting specific event goals is the only way I actually get suit-related things done. I will be dragging
Geneec along with me somehow. Hopefully. I don't actually know. The thing with comic conventions is that they are basically scaled-up, broadened furry conventions that have more than 20-times as many people and cover pretty much everything that exists, including non-comic related stuff. It is an event to "graduate to" I suppose. And indeed, they are harder to suit in, but there's so much more to see, and wider gamut of themes happening, with roughly the same level of inclusion seen at furry conventions.
If all goes well, I will be suiting Machinedramon, who was recently made recognizable again by being featured prominently in a few episodes of Digimon Tri, which I'm sure I'm not the only one watching.
