Posted 12 years agoNot gonna bother getting out until after AC.
this is the end my friends
Posted 12 years agoThis is my final journal. After tonight I'm getting out of the fandom. Nothing wrong with furry in general, just time for me to be gong. I will be uploading pictures from a Streetlight Manifesto concert that I an currently in line for and then this account will go dead. I may return someday in the future but I have no plans to do so at this time. Thanks for being awesome.

FOXES!?!!
Posted 12 years agoA uear ago I bought my beloved 2008 Subaru Impreza, before the first payment was in I hit a fox on my way to work and ripped the cowling out of the wheelwell on the drivera side. I hate to admit that to a fox heavy fandom but it was unintentional. Then a month later I hit another and put a nice hole in my bumper. Tonight on my way home from work I nearly rolled my car into a ditch avoiding the cutest little cub. My Subaru is being totalled from some flood damage a few weeks back but even if it weren't it seems the foxes have it out for my poor car anyway.
Just in case anyone was going to ask, the car suffered body damage in the flooding but it still runs and drives so I have been using it while my insurance company does all the paperwork, they are coming to get it this weekend.

Eviscerate the proletariat
Posted 12 years agoSo I have found a few hundred groups on FA and I am certain that there many more I don't know about, but a keyword search of mine shown up zero results. It had no results for art, music, stories or groups. The word was 'celibate'. A lot of people do a lot of work to make sure that furries are disassociated with the internet stereotype of being just a bunch of sex crazed 20 somethings that throw raging, raving orgies but, it seems, no one is willing to embrace celibacy to further that goal. Well I'm here to tell you, neither am I! It isn't that I don't care about the fandom it's just that that kind of action is reserved for truly important introspective obligations. I am, in fact, committing myself to celibacy but for reasons unrelated to being a furry. Really it is re-committing, I made a 4 1/2 year run of single celibacy but then I did something stupid, wel no more! . . . . Um, well I will do stupid things but I'm hoping they won't be related to dating or sex. Oh well, wish me luck.
Lifes cacophony of feces is my home
Posted 12 years agoThe short story:
In 2008 I lost everythng when the job market crashed.
In 2011 I got a new job and everything was going fine.
In 2012 I bought a new car, moved into a nice house, met the girl of my dreams, got my credit score on the way to normal again and had a perfect life for about 2 1/2 months.
In 2013 my car is in serious disrepair, the girl hates me for all time, all of my friends are gone, I'm on the verge of loosing my job, I have $20,000 in medical bills with no insurance, i'm homeless and I am severely sick right now.
Oddly enough, ths feels like home.

Writing again
Posted 12 years agoOk, so some time ago I had a falling out with my family and lost everything I owned as a result. The only truly tragic casualty was my box of stories, to be fair this should still be hidden in the attic of my mothers house but I will not return to claim it. I have, therefore, resolved to start writing again to repopulate my portfolio. What does this mean? It means I am working on a new story and I am reaching out to the FA community to ask for suggestions of races you would like to see in this story. I won't give you any details except that it is going to be a sci fi story and there will be very few laser gun battles.
podcasts, music and more.
Posted 13 years agoSo I downloaded the latest podcast from Act Fur On Air and they happened to receive a song from a band called The Flameing Daeth Fearies (that is the correct spelling). The song is Fuzzy Love and it is quite good. It is absolutely about furry fandom as the group seems to be made up of furies, or at least mostly. Here is a link to their website where you can get then get linked to their ReverbNation page and listen to their songs. Pass the word around and look for the pictures that feature the cute girl in the partial, can't miss her.
http://www.flameingdaethfearies.com
Give them money, I think the total for all of their songs was $13.11.

Midwest Fur Fest 2012
Posted 13 years agoSo MFF was an absolute blast! I have decided to write down a few key moments from the con, I will go in chronological order.
Day 1:
I arrived on Friday around 4 or 5 and the lobby of the Hyatt Regency was already crawling with fursuits. Before I went to the counter to check I managed to observe a couple standing near the door with two small children nearby. The man and woman had very concerned expressions on their faces and the children were equally anxious. It was the silent conversation. All four were thinking "Who are these people and how long until they leave?" while the parents covertly discussed the best course of action the children decided on theirs, the broke from their parents and hugged the s**t out of those furries! The best photo op that I missed was the look on the faces of those parents.
Day 2:
Two words folks. Fursuit Parade. If you go to a fur con and don't spend at least 2 hours straight looking at fursuits then you can consider your time wasted. Fursuits are cute, yes. Fursuits are expressive, yes. Most importantly fursuits are a view into the heart and soul of the person wearing them. The creativity and attitude adopted by a person while in a fursuit can range from the expression of who they want to be to the security blanket syndrome but no matter what they are always a look deeper inside the person that is wearing one.
Day 3:
Dancing is one of the most difficult and physically demanding things in the world. Now imagine doing that in a giant, fleece and fur covered body glove. The fursuit dance competition was the perfect way to top off an awesome weekend. I can't dance but I can appreciate the technical and physical difficulties of a dance. Those people were extremely skilled and I sincerely feel that there were no losers in that event.
